Carping on Obama's World
I guess the presidency can be a fun gig, to some presidents. Even solemn occasions such as the observance of Memorial Day don’t phase Barack Hussein Obama or stay our leader from his appointed rounds–of golf.
Granted, this year represented a decorous improvement over Memorial Day 2010 when he took the family on one of their frequent vacations to visit his old haunts in Chicago where he learned his skills as a “community organizer” instead of following hallowed tradition and reverently laying a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in Arlington National Cemetery. This year he performed his presidential duty, however grudgingly, and laid the wreath before hightailing it off to Fort Belvoir to get in some golf, something he also did in 2009.
I know Memorial Day has devolved into an occasion of fun, frolic, bbq’s, the unofficial launching of summertime and summer sports but it’s also a time for remembrance of our war dead and the ultimate sacrifice they paid for our nation. America’s head role model should be at the forefront of that recognition. Laying a wreath doesn’t cut it.
President George W. Bush, the man to whom liberals still refer to as a buffoon, an incompetent, and worse, had the smarts, respect, and discretion to discontinue playing golf during wartime since it presented a public spectacle of enjoying life while our troops died. Our troops continue to die in “Bush’s wars” during Obama’s watch but this president still plays golf, lots of golf, as well as hosting, with the uncontested Queen of Taste, White House soirees and festivities.
Could that be characterized as nitpicking, partisan carping? Only if the British are nitpicking partisan, American carpers.
When the Brits take note of an American president’s gross lack of respect on what the Daily Mail referred to as a sacrosanct day to play golf for the seventieth time in his 28 months as commander in chief and leader of the Free World, it can’t simply be called carping. As Nile Gardner wrote in the Mail, ”Can you imagine David Cameron enjoying a round of golf on Remembrance Sunday [the UK's version of Memorial Day]?” . . .

Would you buy a used car from Anthony David Weiner, no mind elect him to Congress seven times as voters in New York’s 9th cd have done?
When they find a winner Weiner, or when they don’t, Democrats like to elect and re-elect and re-elect them until they get caught in a scandal, a better Weiner turns up, or they die. Come to think of it, scandals don’t usually matter. Think Reps. Charles Rangel and John Conyers.
Republicans tend to dump scandalous GOPers or send them into retreat mode. Think South Carolina’s randy Governor Mark Sandford or shirtless New York Congressman Chris Lee.
The scandal-resistance of Dem voters is advantageous to the impervious Rep. Weiner, especially so because his latest is a mini-controversy arising from an unproven assertion, but more about that later.
A tireless runner for political office, graduate of New York’s state university system Weiner first served as an aide to then-Rep. Charles Schumer, then as a member of the New York City Council, and as Schumer’s replacement in Congress.
Apparently unfulfilled or unhappy in that role, he took a stab at the NYC mayor’s office in 2005, failed in that attempt, then launched an impossible quest to depose the Big Apple’s mayor for life, Michael Bloomberg, four years later but withdrew under pressure.
Weiner returned to Washington and was re-elected in ’06, ’08, ’10 and will be sent back in ’12, ’14, no doubt, in Democrat Party tradition, in perpetuity.
Relieved of the stress of mayoral politics, at the fairly ripe old age of 46, he married for the first time last July. The lucky lady was 36 year old Huma Abedin, former “body woman” in Hillary Clinton’s campaign for the presidency and currently on the State Department staff. Hillary’s hubby, Bill, officiated.
However, back to Weiner’s unsubstantiated mini-controversy.
No stranger to scandals, mere bagatelles in the greater political scheme of things, Weiner was accused of Federal Election Commission violations involving campaign financial misconduct, similar but different from former Democrat Senator John Edwards’ shenanigans. The FEC slapped the congressman’s wrist, as did D.C. police after he ultimately paid up $2,180 in traffic tickets without mentioning his frequent complaints about U.N. diplomats defying parking restrictions in New York.
The latest scandal, as mini as it is, is no trifle like financial lies or being a scofflaw.
Rep. Weiner is a Twitterer, as are millions of others in and out of politics. Twitter.com is a great outlet for people to inform other people, who may or may not give a flying fig, on invaluable details relating to what the Tweeter is thinking, planning, eating, drinking, and otherwise doing, what in an earlier age would border on invited voyeurism.
Last week, a photo appeared on Congressman Weiner’s yfrog account and in his verified Twitter timeline of an unidentified man in his underwear sporting what can only be described . . .

Black Reparations and Other Insanities
In an ideal world, all people would have sufficient food to eat, a good roof over their heads, and a decent life.
They would enjoy freedom from want and from fear, freedom of speech and expression, freedom to worship or not worship as they pleased, essentially FDR’s “Four Freedoms” as delineated in January, 1941 toward the end of the Great Depresssion and eleven months before Pearl Harbor, both of which changed everything.
Today, 70 years later, those freedoms are largely commonplace, taken for granted in America and largely elusive in much of the world for various reasons, yet Americans, to their credit for the most part, still strive for more, for perfection. At the same time, some Americans and international institutions of which we are a part are attempting to reverse our good fortune achieved through hard work, diligence, and dedication.
In a perfect American world, we would enjoy all the benefits of the Four Freedoms, with enhancements: All politicians would be honest and trustworthy, we would have a standing rib roast in every oven instead of just a chicken in every pot, we would have a new Lexus or two in every garage in lieu of a 2004 Taurus and an even more ancient Civic, we would win the Lotto at least once in our lives, and we would eat all the cheeseburgers we wish and never get fat.
In President Barack Hussein Obama’s ultra-civil, post-racial brave new world, Lady O. has proclaimed Bill Clinton’s fav food of old, cheeseburgers, definitely out and the chances of those other items on Americans’ wish list being fulfilled are as likely as, well, an ultra-civil, post-racial brave new world. Our president’s favorite international institution, the United Nations, is well on its merry way of insuring those non-eventualities.
With undoubted enthusiastic support from Black America’s Man on the Scene, Michigan’s Democrat House representative for life, Rep. John Conyers, who has virtually dedicated his life to the cause of black reparations, the U.N. is in process of declaring open season on the world’s white inhabitants who just happen to be a minority in the hallowed halls on New York City’s East River.
Undeterred by his wife Monica’s bribery conviction two years ago or his own ethics charges, Conyers is waiting in the wings to again visit his raison d’ĂȘtre on white Americans for their vile crime of imposing slavery on “his” people. Never mind that any slavemaster is long dead as are any former slaves and that America fought a bloody, four-year war to free “his” people, Conyers still wants reparations.
The whole idea, which Conyers has advocated for more than 40 years and which he hopes can be accomplished “without allowing the issue to polarize our party or our nation,” fits in neatly with President Obama’s stated dream of “sharing the wealth.” Why would either Conyers or Obama even imagine that picking the pockets of white Americans to line the pockets of black Americans cause any polarization? . . .

Red Poppies and Memorial Day 2011
I gave my two granddaughters, aged 11 and 13, little, red, paper poppies the other day.
They looked at them skeptically and asked, “What’s this?” I briefly tried to explain their meaning, that red poppies are worn on Memorial Day to commemorate America’s war dead, the hundreds of thousands of men and women who have died for our country. The girls shrugged and pocketed the poppies.
Assuming their public school teachers would at least make passing reference to the meaning of this national holiday and maybe even of the poppies, I asked them today what their teachers had said about Memorial Day. The eleven year old answered, “Nothing,” the thirteen year old answered, “A few told us to enjoy the day off, one told us to stay safe.” I asked if they had worn the poppies. Both said no, that they would have felt “weird.”
Very sad, indeed, on a number of counts including the fact Memorial Day is not intended for enjoyment but for remembering.
It’s easy to forget the meanings behind national holidays, especially when those charged with educating either don’t know the meanings or don’t care. Christmas, of course, is now regarded in our schools as nothing more than an occasion for a week off and in American society in general as a time for shopping and getting.
And people often confuse Veterans Day, when we honor all those who have served the nation, with Memorial Day, when we pay respects to those who have perished in the service of our country so, to be generous, maybe we can attribute the prevailing disinterest . . .

A recent Gallup poll shows that, contrary to leftists’ contentions that Americans are pro-abortion and lily-livered Republicans who are fearful of taking a stand on the issue, fully 61% of adults oppose abortions and believe it should be illegal in most circumstances.
The poll further shows that the anti-abortion sentiment covers the spectrum, includes some “pro-choicers.” Only 27% told Gallup they thought abortion should be legal under any and all situations. See the full poll analysis of 1,018 adult Americans at http://bit.ly/lpQFrw
The Gallup results should and would have come as a major shocker to the pro-abortion liberal establishment who revere the rite and right of killing babies as a virtual sacrament, “would have” simply because they will ignore it as either right wing, pro-life propanganda or as irrelevant.
Pre-born babies have been an endangered species ever since the Supreme Court decided in Roe v. Wade in 1973 that a woman or young girl has a constitutionally-protected “right to privacy,” based on non-existent constitutional language, and therefore enjoyed the right to terminate the existence of her baby in utero and thereby deny those babies’, male or female, any rights.
The rest has been sad history–55 million abortions–far more casualties to a misguided principle than America has sustained in all the wars in our history by far.
The Gallup findings are perhaps due to that realization and recent advancements in neo-natal technology which clearly and graphically prove that women haven’t been excising mere blobs of tissue from their bodies but rather living, sensate human beings. . .

Barney has lots of friends. No, not the purple, cartoon Barney but the ethically-challenged, cartoonish Barney, as in Frank. The inimitable Michelle Malkin calls them “Barney Frank’s Friends with Benefits” and they sure do benefit from their, umm, relationship with the homosexual congressman from Massachusetts’ 4th cd.
Rep. Frank adds a whole new dimension to the term “teflon man.” He seems to get away with more things–ethical, moral, and borderline criminal things–than any individual in Washington principally because he is homosexual and his peers dare not touch him, literally or figuratively speaking. Representing a district which includes uber-liberal bastions, the University of Dartmouth and Hillary Clinton’s alma mater, Wellesley College, doesn’t hurt, either; they consistently and blindly send him back to Congress whatever he does, or doesn’t do.
The most powerful homosexual in D.C., thanks to the House seniority system and to his position as former Chairman and now ranking Democrat on the Financial Services Committee, another of Frank’s machinations has come home to roost. I would say it bit him on the arse but that image could unduly arouse Barney.
Even the Boston Herald took a potshot at Barney in its story headlined, “Barney Frank Knocked on His Fannie,” which details the latest scandal to hit the newswires, Barney’s greasing the skids into a lucrative job for his long-time “companion,” (gay lover), Herb Moses, back in 1991.
The unabashed and proud Barney, who is rarely abashed or humble under any circumstances, . . .

Sluts and racism would seem to be an odd mishmash of topics except that recent news items link them as elements of what’s seriously wrong in America.
SLUT is an ugly word designating a slovenly woman in Britain and a cheap, sexually promiscuous girl or woman in America, what UrbanDictionary.com defines as a skank, whore, and, in the hood, a “hoe” who is “too loose in the booty.” The word is made all the more ugly when we consider President Obama’s call for greater civility in public discourse and is uttered by one of his own, a committed leftist.
A little context: Laura Ingraham is a 47 year old, conservative radio talk show host and conservative political commentator and author of four best-selling books. Did I mention that she’s a conservative?
On the other side of the aisle–at the bottom of a squalid, slimy pit might be a better analogy–lurks MSNBC’s 57 year old, rabid, liberal attack dog and liberal commentator, Ed Schultz, who consistently plumbs the depths of humanity with his observations.
Did I mention Schultz is a liberal?
Anyway, he was talking about the weather the other day on MSNBC’s “The Ed Schultz Show” when he couldn’t resist a total non-sequitur and launched into a Republican-conservative assault accusing his nemeses of insensitivity toward victims of the recent, horrendous floods and tornadoes.
Where or how he came up with that I have no clue anymore than I have a clue as to why he viciously attacked Ms. Ingraham as a “right wing slut . . . yeah, she’s a talk slut.” I guess he didn’t get the Obama civility memo. An unidentified Salt Lake City woman was charged with attempting to peddle her 11 year old daughter’s virginity for what’s apparently the going price in Utah of $10,000, quite a bit over what Afghani Muslim moms get for their daughters but still a bargain, as well as a bonus for the puchaser who only wanted the Salt Lake mom to provide her child for oral sex purposes.
He may have gotten that idea after the mom had the girl model lingerie for him.

Sure, now, the good paple of the Olde Sod, the Oirish, musta bin bustin’ their buttons when one of their own returned home! I mean, now, the land of sints ‘n’ scholars likes to say, “NĂor bhris focal maith fiacal riamh” or, as narrowbacks put it, ”A good word never broke a tooth,” and ain’t dat de truth? (Few, if any, Irish under 90 speak quite like that, by the way.)
The Irish know, of course, that the Yank president’s name isn’t really “Barry O’Bama” and, despite his appearance and what some have said, he isn’t descended from those blaggard Black and Tans who slaughtered and pillaged the Emerald Isle when the Irish fought for their independence.
Nevertheless, Barack Hussein “Barry” Obama “went home” this week.
His limo got hung up, literally, pulling out of the gate at the American embassy although all the president’s men swore he wasn’t in that particular Caddy but rather in the one behind. It would have been highly unusual for the president not to be an occupant of the flag-bedecked, heavily-armored vehicle aptly nicknamed “the Beast” but the Secret Service wouldn’t lie simply to protect all the president’s dignity and the obvious symbolism of his involuntary “suspension.”
However, it didn’t matter a whit to the Irish where Obama was riding, how undignified it was, or how he was spinning his wheels.
One of “their own,” wife in tow as usual, had returned to his ancestral home of Moneygall in County Offaly and the Moneygallians, the Offalyians, indeed all of Eire were thrilled.
He greeted a (very) distant cousin, quaffed a gulp of Guinness in a local pub, wished the bar a hearty “Slainte!,” and observed to one of the locals, “You look a little like my grandfather,” which must have caused the poor man to check a mirror before he ran home to share that good news with the family.
That Barack/Barry. He’s such a guy.
I wonder how proud that lookalike . . .

Try 58 year old John Ellis “Jeb” Bush, successful businessman, charity activist, rock climber, convert to Catholicism, Third Degree Knight of Columbus, married 37 years to Columba Garnica Gallo, proud father of three grown children, and two-term 43rd governor of the State of Florida.
Jeb, however, has his negatives, chiefly his name. He’s the second son of former President George Herbert Walker Bush and brother to former President George Walker Bush which in itself is sufficient to give conniptions if not cause diarrhea in the bowels of America’s liberal, leftist, Democrats, a description that sadly today covers most Dems.
The Dem-MSM deconstruction machine is no doubt in full throttle already, digging, “investigating,” and fabricating when those digs and investigations turn up dry, doing all it can to manufacture dirt and lies to discredit this new Bush, this new Bush-bane to their existence. . .
Lefties will surely uncover “dirt” of some sort or the other whether they discover anything unsavory in his past or not. They will trot out candid photos to make him appear a jerk. They may even suggest he married a hispanic in 1974 for the sole purpose of ingratiating himself with the Latino community decades later. They certainly will make liberal hay of his daughter Noelle’s drug habit, as they do a dube and snort a line.
The bottom line is that Jeb Bush is by far the best qualified candidate the Republican Party has to offer to roundly trounce Barack Hussein Obama next year. . .

When is a violent, sexual assault not a violent, sexual assault? Why, when the assault is committed by a protected species, of course!
The powerful LGBT Lobby, which stands for the lesbians, gays, bisexuals, transgenders and which sometimes throws in a “Q” in its designated acronym for “Queer” and “Questioning” to encompass as many people, especially sexually confused young people as possible, agitated for and received legally protected status.
That protection is afforded the LGBT(Q)’s in the nation according to federal law which also incorporates blacks, hermaphrodites, Mormons, Ugandans, anyone over 40, cross dressers, and veterans, a goodly chunk of Americans.
Related but different legislation in covered many, not all, of those groups under “hate crimes” which are defined ”as a violent act causing death or bodily injury because of the actual or perceived race, color, religion, national origin, sexual orientation, gender, gender identity or disability of the victim.”
Little agitation for the law, seconded by the United Nations, came from religious or nationality groups or the disabled who were thrown into that thought crime mix to make the legislation more palatable and seem as if it weren’t catering to the LGBT(Q) set, which it was.
Noteworthy in what is called the Matthew Shepard Act is the provision that enables federal authorities to intervene in alleged hate crimes that local enforcement authorities choose not to pursue and mandates FBI involvement in statistically tracking alleged gender and gender identity (B and T) crimes.
All of that brings us to a school bus in Kellogg, Idaho, a 17 year old high school softball player, and three teammates who may or may not have had gender identity issues but who clearly engaged in, if not a hate crime under current definitions, a sex crime and possibly a reverse lesbian sex crime committed out of anything but love . . .

If a tree falls in the forest with no one around, does it make a sound? Of course it does! However, if a news event breaks and no one reports it, is it still news? If it happens and the MSM doesn’t report it but radical news organizations such as Fox News do, does the event constitute news? Of course not!
That’s a thought to remember as Obamacare rolls on to its inevitable full implementation in 2014, even though it has been declared unconstitutional by a federal judge. That was news-y enough to get cursory coverage by the MSM since it was beyond ignoring but then the powers that govern what the masses see, hear, and read shelved that factoid so it doesn’t count.
When it quacks like a duck and walks like a duck and acts like a duck, it’s pretty safe to say it isn’t a swan. Likewise, when a federal program looks like a lemon, smells like a lemon, and tastes like a lemon, it’s almost certain to be a lemon and nothing proposed in Washington since Prohibition is more lemony in every way than Obamacare.
One entertaining use of that lemon this week was President Obama’s affixing it to the neck of Mitt Romney as what Tony Soprano termed “an albacore” and most people would call an albatross, a smelly sea bird foreshadowing doom when it’s dead and draped around one’s neck. In this case, it spells doom for Romney’s yet-unannounced candidacy for the Republican nomination for the presidency in 2012.
Romney, relecting a clear disdain for both the intelligence and memory of the American electorate, last week guilefully proclaimed that the first thing he would do on assuming the office of the presidency–a heady assumption, indeed!–would be to dismantle Obamacare. The president promptly and deftly thanked the former Massachusetts’ governor for his able “assist” in passing Obamacare by virtue of his model, the equally-repugnant “Romneycare” in the Bay State.
You really have to watch out for those invited albatrosses, or albacores, Mitt! Maybe, like your dad, George, did in 1964 when he turned up his nose at conservative Barry Goldwater and said he would go fishing instead of voting for the Republican nominee you, too, might consider doing likewise on November 6, 2012. You could catch an albacore.
Were entertainment the chief attraction of Obamacare, Americans could almost enjoy it as farce but most of what the Patient Federal Care and Protection Act of 2010 (PPACA) entails is far from farcical. Skillfully timed to fully impact Americans only after they have already voted next year with an additional two years built in to capitalize on their short term memory deficiencies, the 2,309 page PPACA will revolutionize America’s health care system beyond imagining, and beyond reasoning.
What will most immediately surprise most Americans is not seeing their medical care go the way of another Obamacare model, Britain’s bankrupt National Health Service, though that is as certain as death and taxes. What will shock and dismay will be the costs imposed, another item ignored or minimized by the MSM which makes it non-news except to those who will pay through the nose.
A primary reason for those costs . . .

I guess I can throw out IOwntheWorld.com’s incomplete forecast showing weather predictions past Saturday, May 21st, 2011 are irrelevant since Saturday has already arrived and we’re still here despite predictions to the contrary.
Okay, I know some doomsday prognosticators indicated that 6 PM would be the appointed time but they didn’t say if that referred to EDT, PDT, GMT or any other time and since this is being written at approximately 5:25 Eastern Daylight Time, who knows?
We can’t discount, either, Caesar’s taunting the Soothsayer by saying, “The Ides of March are come,” to which the living Oracle responds by reminding his emperor that the day is still young: “Ay, Caesar, but not gone.”
What is most remarkable about many of those who are predicting Judgment Day, . . .

“Obama Is No Friend of Israel” blared the headline on SayAnything.com with variations on other blogs and in the print media in the wake of the president’s announcement that he was effectively screwing the Jewish nation. His “final solution” for Israel’s border wars, though he dare not use that term, would make everyone in the area happy and peaceful and ready to play together in perpetual peace and harmony.
Confirmed and reinforced in his tense Friday sit-down with Israel’s furious, diplomatically-assertive Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Obama’s scheme is to have Israel return to its pre-6 Day War, 1967 borders, tantamount in this age of sophisticated rocketry in the bloody hands of Hamas to asking Israel to commit national suicide.
That said, two questions: One, why is it such a surprise to so many that Israel is not at the top of Obama’s buddy list and, two, why should he be? The answers to both queries are complex with the first less so than the second.
It’s either incredibly naive or amazingly stupid to be surprised that the president cares not a whit about the nation of Israel. Whether he would prefer it to be totally submerged in the Mediterranean as Arab states wish is debatable but his affinity for those states and all things and people Islamic is not. An excellent rule of thumb to gauge Obama is to note carefully what he says and then to compare and contrast those statements with what he does, has done, and refuses to do.
They’re remarkably different.
Obama tows the line with what he says, mouthing platitudes and the conventional pap about how much America loves Israel, how important an ally it is, how our support is unwavering, etc. etc. At the same time, he adamantly refuses to acknowledge a worldwide war against Islamic terrorism, he bows to Saudi potentates, he inexplicably instructs NASA to focus not on space but on building Arab self-esteem. Is pushing for a Palestinian state such a stretch? . . .

F.Scott Fitzgerald famously, supposedly, once commented to Ernest Hemingway that “the rich are different from the rest of us” to which Hemingway famously and supposedly retorted, “Yes, they have more money.”
No matter the accuracy of that exchange, Fitzgerald was correct if he really said the rich are different and not just because they have more money and the same can be said of the semi-rich elite class who are different mainly because they can be. Think Queen Elizabeth II making her first trip to Ireland and failing to abjectly apologize for the atrocities England visited for centuries on the Irish people and the IMF’s Dominique Straus-Kahn visiting New York and raping a chambermaid, allegedly.

Berkeley is well, Berkeley, and the Ninth Court is as notoriously liberal, and the ABA tends to consider any judicial candidate well-qualified as long as he or she swings politically leftward.
The Loyal Opposition was unable to block tax cheat Tmothy Geithner from taking over as Secretary of the Treasury or such administration luminaries as homosexual activist Harry Knox as a faith counsellor, radical Cass Sunstein as Regulatory Czar, America-hater John Holdren as Obama’s chief science maven, admitted child-abuser Kevin Jennings as his man to insure safe schools, and a scary host of other leftists from taking posts in the administration but considers Liu’s nomination to be even more “ridiculous.”

The End Is Near! Again!
The End Is Near! Again!
Nostradamus fans must be frantically searching his multitudinous prophecies in hopes of discovering irrefutable evidence that somewhere, somehow, he predicted Anno Domini May 21st, 2011 as the end, when the world will be absolutely kaput, when it’s all over, baby, and trying to reconcile ancient Mayan beliefs that the end isn’t due until A.D. December 21st, 2012.
Aficionados of The End of the World as We Know It have even coined an acronym, TEOTWAWKI, and established websites to prepare believers on how and when to pack up all their cares and woes beforehand. Now the “when” has been pinpointed, sort of, at least within the narrow spectrum of this coming Saturday and Friday, 12-21-2012, so all that remains is all the packing.
The primary proponent of the earlier date, retired 80 year old, N.Y.C. MTA train engineer Robert Fitzpatrick, has generously spent almost all his life savings of $140,000 for a thousand ads on N.Y.C. subways and bus shelters to alert the city of the impending Apocalypse.
No word, as yet, on how Mrs. Fitzpatrick, if there is one, regards her hubby’s retirement hobby. However, thousands, if not millions, of New Yorkers–as well as countless others–are taking his prognostications of a “Global Earthquake: The Greatest Ever” and the arrival of “Judgment Day” very seriously. That should dispel the foolish conventional wisdom that the Big Apple is inhabited by doubters and cynics and that people who agree with them are all nitwits.
Far be it from me to burst Fitz’s and other committed TEOTWAWKI bubbles but similar predictions have been bubbling around the doomed Earth’s globe for almost as long as there have been inhabitants of that globe. Remember Y2K?
Pre-dating that non-catastrophe, Sir Isaac Newton and Blaise Pascal suggested the end was near in the seventeeth century and an Assyrian tablet circa 2800 B.C. bemoaned the end almost five millennia ago. As some solace for the fearful, let’s not forget Peanuts’ words of wisdom: “Don’t worry about the world coming to an end today. It’s already tomorrow in Australia.”
In case anyone hasn’t noticed, Newton, Pascal, the Assyrians, and probably a few million other doomsayers and their adherents were wrong and the world is still with us even if it is, as Wordsworth said, “too much with us.” One notable doomsaying prophet, Jim Jones of Jonestown fame, was right on the money but he accomplished the end of the world for only a select few in Jonestown in 1978 and then with spiked Kool-Aid.

News You Really Don't Need
News You Really Don't Need
With apologies to Ben Franklin, there are other certainties in life aside from death and taxes and Ben may not have said that in the first place. Another surety is news since something is always happening on our planet whether we want to hear about it or not.
There are many happenings the squeamish would prefer not to know about, other events few of us care about, and still more most of us find so mystifying or just so plain dumb that we tend to believe the news accounts just have to be wrong.
In the recently mystifying category are a plethora of stories which, no matter how hard we wish, are true whether we choose to believe them or not.
Take, for example, the Holy Name of Jesus parish in West Palm Beach, Florida, which offered a “prayer request” in last Sunday’s bulletin for the repose of the soul of the mass murderer and architect of 9/11, Osama bin Laden.
More rational critics abounded and parishioner Lois Pizzano spelled out their objections: “I think it’s totally wrong, he doesn’t belong in the Catholic religion. For what he did to Americans, he doesn’t belong anywhere. It’s unconscionable, it’s sacrilegious,” a sentiment with which the pastor, Father Gavin Badway, took issue.
Rev. Badway concedes that many in his congregation are less than happy with the idea of praying for the Butcher of 9/11 but “he says the church has never turned down a prayer request before. He says making the right decision isn’t always easy.” He added that, “Their [parishiners'] hearts are troubled because they’re thinking emotionally about what he has done and he has done a lot of evil. As a fellow Catholic, I have to wonder if Rev. Badway is in complete possession of his senses and whether we are also expected to pray for Judas, Attila, Hitler, and other poor, misunderstood, bloody souls. I also have to wonder whether Badway is just ambitious to move on up the clergy ranks by demonstrating how caring he is or whether he’s gay since homosexuals are said to be very empathetic.
Out there in the secular world, Maryland’s Governor Martin O’Malley is also evidently a sensitive guy. He joined his state to ten others in signing on to the so-called Dream Act, which act has been repudiated, so far, by the U.S. Congress and which is only a dream for illegal invaders of our country and for Democrat politicians who crave their votes . . .

“Bearding the Lion” or “Bearding the lion in his own den” has nothing to do with either beards or lions and even less to do with affixing hairy appendages to beasts of the jungle. Rather, the term is an idiomatic, metaphorical expression referring to directly confronting powerful and/or dangerous rivals on their own turf, which is precisely what a new political blog does, in spades.

So Many Questions, So Few Answers
Long before and long after little Billy asked, “Why’s the sky blue, daddy?” a question to which I still don’t know the answer, important and inconsequential questions have been posed, sometimes answered with platitudes or misrepresentations or lies and sometimes parried–like the blue sky query.
Though I may be wrong, and I have been wrong once or twice over the course of my many years, never in the history of mankind, or in the history of our Republic, well, in my history, have so many serious questions gone unanswered whether because no one knows the answers, because some people do know and prefer not to share their wisdom, or because the questions are unanswerable.
Without categorizing the questions in any of those 3 classifications in which they sometimes overlap, I offer these head-scratchers in the hope that someone, somewhere, has the answers:
. Why did our leaders announce the “treasure trove” of information on Al-Qaeda and OBL’s contacts and machinations gleaned from the raid on Abbottabad? If the announcements were intended to satisfy the American public with the revelation that the mission was fully accomplished or, more likely, to spike our president’s ball and garner him votes next year, did any of our leaders consider they were also alerting the enemy that we knew who they are and where they may be hiding?
. Why did our VP Oaf in Chief spill the beans on which of our special forces conducted that raid, information which until then was classified? Okay, that was primarily due to Biden’s idiocy and oafishness but in light of news Islamic Osama-lovers have now targeted those Navy SEALs, and possibly their families, who will be held responsible if Muslim fruitcakes succeed?
. Why was a socialist with a girl’s name, Frenchman Domique Strauss-Kahn, the head of the IMF, why wasn’t he dumped after repeated instances of sexual improprieties, why was he staying in a $3,000 a night room at the Sofitel when the standard IMF stipend is $386 per, why was he being paid $500,000 a year tax free, and why is the inept former British PM Gordon Brown in the running to replace him?
. Why are Pakistan and India, where shoes and a decent meal are luxuries for the rabble, nuclear powers spending billions to join and continue in that exclusive club? Shouldn’t head Pakistani and Indian honchos be more concerned with clothing and feeding their people than with blowing up their neighbors and, in the Paki case, why were they unaware OBL was in residence for years? . . .

The Muslim world has rejected as more filthy propaganda from the Great Satan that their hero who now swims with the fishes was, in fact, a dirty old man.
The treasure trove of computer data removed from Osama bin Laden’s less than sumptuous pad in Abbottabad two weeks ago by our Navy SEALs after President Obama killed him included other goodies besides Al Qaeda terrorist booty. It seems the Lion Sheikh Al-Mujahid, better known as the Butcher of 9/11, had other booty on his terrorist mind and computers, namely a “fairly extensive” trove of pornography.
According to the DailyBeast.com, porn, “Called fuhsha in Arabic, . . . is considered haram, or illegal . . . because it publically exposes a person’s awrah, the Arabic word for the zones forbidden from public eye” although Georgetown University’s Christine Fair points out, “Some of the Muslim societies that are the most repressive toward women . . . also have some of the highest rates of pornography usage in the world:” http://bit.ly/mE1yjf.
Demonstrating a total lack of respect and deference to the deceased, the New York Post, with no input from either the SEALs or our intelligence community, postulated what IOwntheWorld.com disrespectfully characterized as a ”tongue in goat cheek” listing of OBL’s fave porn files. And so we face a creeping, creepy conundrum, If Osama, despite all his admirable attributes, was a closet porn freak or if he dabbled in fuhsha mainly to entice his youngest wife into sareer (bed) and forget he was a perv, is he guilty of haram?
In any event, Muslim fans of the mass murderer the world over were inflamed by the allegation that their guy was a dirty old man instead of being a 24/7 committed, murder mastermind. The Muslim world has rejected as more filthy propaganda from the Great Satan that their hero who now swims with the fishes was, in fact, a dirty old man.
The treasure trove of computer data removed from Osama bin Laden’s less than sumptuous pad in Abbottabad two weeks ago by our Navy SEALs after President Obama killed him included other goodies besides Al Qaeda terrorist booty. It seems the Lion Sheikh Al-Mujahid, better known as the Butcher of 9/11, had other booty on his terrorist mind and computers, namely a “fairly extensive” trove of pornography.

An Elder Laments the Sad State of Modern Women
Ok, ok, let’s dispense with it from the get-go. I’m a (relatively) old dude, father of three and grandfather of four, so far.
It’s demonstrably true that as we age–I prefer to call it mature–we seasoned citizens tend to get “set in our ways,” to forget the indiscretions of our own “yout,” as Cousin Vinny put it, and to look askance–does anyone still say, “askance?”–at modernity and its sociological expressions and implications.
It’s also true that comparable askance looks and judgments date back to the ancient Romans and Greeks, and probably before, when an aging Kallistos might have become frustrated with a young Rhode’s newfangled ideas and a furious Granddad Gnaeus may have thrown a Roman version of a chamber pot at a recalcitrant Hilarius for failing, once again, to take out the trash.
All that said, what in the name of Zeus and Jupiter is going on with modern girls and women?
As sexist as it may sound, boys and young men have been randy and rambunctious and otherwise wild and nutty for as long as there have been boys and young men. However, it’s a very recent phenomenon that the former fair sex has matched–and surpassed–them in randiness and in their other negative attributes.
Let’s admit, too, that many elders wish they had been born 40 years later so they could have joined in and, shall we say, cashed in on the new freedoms, to use a euphemism, being enjoyed by the contemporary female, and male, sets. Nevertheless, those freedoms must indeed be scary to most parents today.
We read about it virtually every day, girls high school age and even younger, through their college years and beyond, live lives that in times past were more characteristic of hookers and misbegotten “loose women,” another euphemism for, well, girls acting more like boys than girls.
In college, many girls accept and seem content with being the objects of male derision after casual, indiscriminate “hook-ups” often with “friends with benefits” and having to walk the slut/tart walks on their next- morning return to their college dorms.
With their handy-dandy birth control pills, supplemented by partners who promise to wear condoms, they feel immune to pregnancies and stds, which makes remarkable the incidence of abortions they undergo and their runs to college infirmaries and pharmacies for cures.
What the hell is wrong with these girls? . . .

In “Grease,” Danny and Sandy memorably sang, “We go together like rama lama lama ke ding a de dinga a dong remembered for ever like shoo bop shoo wadda wadda yipitty boom de boom.”
Rama lamas, ke dings, shoo bops, and boom de booms aside, our president has a radically different view of what most Americans believe “going together” and “togetherness” mean. His view is that they mean going and being together on the surface until the next election and in the interim he’s into anything but true inclusiveness.
Central to the prospects of four more years of Obamian divisiveness, race-baiting, economic stagflation, socializing health care, et al. is the administration’s linkage of those groups he must cajole and pay off. All others can go to hell.
His prime constituencies, misguided whites who will again vote for Obama in repentance for white guilt, naive blacks who would vote for him en masse even if he were to profess membership in Al-qaeda, gays who have gotten virtually all they have demanded and want even more, and the millions of hispanics who especially like him because he hates us gringos as much as they do.
Nowhere has Obama’s obsequious catering to the hispanic vote been more blatant than in his southern border policy, or lack thereof.
Janet Napolitano’s TSA got a temporary Texan comeuppance to its insane airport security pat-down policies which this week incorporated a diaper wrinkle as TSA agents literally sniffed into an infant’s nappy in search of a bomb. Late Thursday, the Texas House passed a bill that would make “inappropriate” touching of a traveller’s “anus, sexual organ, buttocks, or breast,” including through clothing, a criminal act. No mention was made of diapers.
No mention to any of that touching is necessary with regard to America’s borders which Big Bro Obama and Big Sis Napolitano contend are as secure as the White House grounds. well, maybe not that secure but certainly as secure as New York City, well, maybe not that secure either but very secure, really.
Our president has more on his mind than borders, anyway. . .

There are no reports that Osama bin Mohammed bin Awad bin Laden, ŰŁŰłŰ§Ù Ű© ŰšÙ Ù ŰÙ ŰŻ ŰšÙ ŰčÙ۶ ŰšÙ ÙۧۯÙ, the Butcher of 9/11 recently killed by Barack bin Obama with some assistance from U.S. Navy SEALs, also enjoyed lap dances but we now know he was a porn aficionado as well as a mayhem maven.
Our government is being as mum about OBL’s stash of pornography on his computer(s) as it is about his final candid photographs as shot (pun) by our SEALs but we’re as sure as shooting (another pun) that he had an “extensive” collection of dirty pictures and who knows what else on those computers which, not incidentally, are an invention of those Western devils he used to despise.
Roger Simon argues that Obama and Company can keep the bloody pictures, that is, Osama’s head shots, if they really believe they would be disturbing to Americans and to already-disturbed Muslims.
As rational people are aware, Americans have seen far more graphic photos, including pictures of people hurling themselves off the WTC to escape incineration and pictures of the 9/11 aftermath and, as already noted, Muslims are quite disturbed anyway and hardly require pics to disturb them more. However, there’s no excuse, even government obtuseness, not to publicize OBL’s porn penchant which is a whole other story.
Simon says, “The kind of pornography a man looks at it gives us a certain insight into him. I can’t even begin to guess what excited bin Laden’s twisted brain. It could be something quite banal or something, shall we say, rather outrĂ©. I leave that to your imagination . . . "Common" and "Tiger" Two Celebs, Two Losers
America has never had “royalty.” There may have been one brief, shining moment when the media tried to create the aura of American royal family in the persons of the Kennedys but that all faded with the passing of Camelot and the Liberal Lion with no Kennedys waiting in the wings.
We don’t have royalty but we don’t need or desire all the trappings of that folderol seen in Great Britain last month. The only thing that extravaganza had going for it was commoner, Kate.
In lieu of real royalty, whatever that is, America has substituted celebrity and celebrities, many of whom bring as much attention and baggage to their thrones as Prince Charles and his randy relatives and yet are adored by their mindless fans.
Our brand of “royalty” runs the gamut from honest-to-goodness celebs to sports heroes and heroines to political celebrities, all of whom have one thing in common with the dysfunctional House of Windsor: Most are tainted to one degree or another, which makes it easier to lump them together with a common, pun intended, thread.
One entertainment celeb recently in the news–not for his proclivity to exalt racial and misogynistic violence, his prolific use the of N-word, his endorsement of cop-killers, or the killing of a president since those elements of his rap “poetry” get little publicity–was one of Wednesday night’s honored guests at Michelle Obama’s soiree at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue.
The latest news on Lonnie Rashid Lynn, Jr,, aka “Common,” and his hostess is that Lady Obama chose to ignore the quality of the trash he offers as poetry and the indignation of the public over his selection as representative of the best America had to offer at her shindig.

The winner of 14 major golf championships, 71 PGA tour events, exaggerated accolades from some as the greatest golfer who ever golfed, and winner of the heart of gorgeous Swedish model, Elin Nordegren, Woods’ life and career began to unravel after the much-maligned supermarket tabloid, the National Enquirer, caught him with his pants down in the presence of Rachel Uchitel in November, 2007.

In Yer Face Update on "Common" Rap Crap
“In yer face!” is an unpleasant expression, connoting contempt and utter disregard for the object of the taunt.
However, I know of no better description to characterize the attitudes of Mr. and Mrs. Obama toward decency, toward propriety, toward fundamental, civilized respect than their decision to invite and now not to disinvite rap crapper “Common” to a poetry reading Wednesday night at America’s house, the White House.
In light of the firestorm of controversy ignited by that invitation, Press Secretary Jay Carney confirmed at a briefing early Wednesday that, in effect, the president may disagree with some of “Common’s” lyrics but he will defend to the death the rapper’s right to espouse them.
As Carney said, “It’s ironic to pick out those particular lyrics about this particular artist when in fact he’s known as a socially conscious hip hop artist or rapper who, in fact, has done a lot of good things. You can oppose some of what he’s done and appreciate some of the other things he’s done:” http://bit.ly/lvYGWf
The same could easily be said, in Pakistan, of Osama bin Laden.
On behalf of his bosses, Carney praised “Common’s” “positive” influence and went further in his defense of the indefensible by ”noting ["Common"] is known as a ‘conscious rapper’ who can bring poetry to audiences that would not otherwise be exposed to it.” What he meant by “positive” or “conscious” is as unclear as Carney’s definition of poetry.
Either Carney, and the Obamas, are raving jackasses or they are miserably ignorant of just who “Common” is and of what he has spewed, or both.
It all makes one wonder whether the White House and its occupants and apologists give a damn about how blacks, particularly young blacks, interpret an invitation to a foul-mouthed one of their own who raps about little else but violence in one form or another. Obama-haters and America-lovers might interpret it as one more effort to stoke black racism and antipathy toward American culture at the same time it encourages black youth to continue to revel in their own counter-culture. . .

However, I know of no better description to characterize the attitudes of Mr. and Mrs. Obama toward decency, toward propriety, toward fundamental, civilized respect than their decision to invite and now not to disinvite rap crapper “Common” to a poetry reading Wednesday night at America’s house, the White House.
In light of the firestorm of controversy ignited by that invitation, Press Secretary Jay Carney confirmed at a briefing early Wednesday that, in effect, the president may disagree with some of “Common’s” lyrics but he will defend to the death the rapper’s right to espouse them.
As Carney said, “It’s ironic to pick out those particular lyrics about this particular artist when in fact he’s known as a socially conscious hip hop artist or rapper who, in fact, has done a lot of good things. The same could easily be said, in Pakistan, of Osama bin Laden.
On behalf of his bosses, Carney praised “Common’s” “positive” influence and went further in his defense of the indefensible by ”noting ["Common"] is known as a ‘conscious rapper’ who can bring poetry to audiences that would not otherwise be exposed to it.” What he meant by “positive” or “conscious” is as unclear as Carney’s definition of poetry.
Either Carney, and the Obamas, are raving jackasses or they are miserably ignorant of just who “Common” is and of what he has spewed, or both.
It all makes one wonder whether the White House and its occupants and apologists give a damn about how blacks, particularly young blacks, interpret an invitation to a foul-mouthed one of their own who raps about little else but violence in one form or another. Obama-haters and America-lovers might interpret it as one more effort to stoke black racism and antipathy toward American culture at the same time it encourages black youth to continue to revel in their own counter-culture. . .

Last century, May Day became synonymous with a celebration of communists, anarchists, and socialists orchestrated by the U.S.S.R. to give their worker-drones a rare day off and the illusion that they mattered. Attended by massive parades in which the Soviets exhibited the weaponry with which it swore to bury the United States and the West, May Day is still associated with communists who today swear to subvert, corrupt, and destroy the U.S. and Western democracies as they now exist.
Most American organizations eschew the communist label because of the unsavory history of that group although many organizations profess the same subversive beliefs as communists and employ similar tactics and strategies to collectivize America and undermine our institutions.
Communism in the United States isn’t dead. It has simply retreated into the closet.
With 1.8 million members, the powerful Service Employees International Union, the SEIU, is one of the fastest-growing unions in America although it hasn’t yet flown the communist banner but it doesn’t have to.
Established in 1921 as the BSEIU and representing those employed in health care, (hospital and nursing home workers), public service employees, (local and state government employees), and property service workers, (janitors and security officers), the SEIU has become a formidable force on the American labor–and political– scenes.
An early and committed supporter of the candidacy of Barack Hussein Obama in 2008, the SEIU exercised its political power during that campaign mainly through thuggery and intimidation. Following those strong arm successes, the union repeated the tactics at town hall meetings in 2009 for which numerous SEIU enforcers were arrested. Michelle Malkin has aptly described its shock troop tactics as “the persuasion of power.”
It’s a persuasion and influence they achieve not only by raw violence but by the happenstance that SEIU members calibrate and maintain voting machines in various localities.
The union was richly rewarded for its unstinting support and “persuasion” by being granted virtually unlimited access to the White House in the person of its former president, Andy Stern. Precisely what Stern discussed with Obama and Obamian functionaries and lackeys has not been disclosed. Based on the SEIU and Obama’s history, none of it could have been good for the country.

The company we keep and the company which keeps us tend to define the kept. That point of popular wisdom may not always be true in real life but in political lives it is a constnt and invariably as valid as political treachery.
As they should, most political wives studiously maintain a low profile. Usually.
First ladies, especially, tend to busy themselves with innocuous causes and projects ranging from Jackie Kennedy’s White House beautification after the dowdy Mamie Eisenhower ruled that roost to former librarian Laura Bush’s campaign for education and literacy to Michelle Obama’s quest to eradicate fat kids from the American landscape.
Michelle, however, despite her childhood obesity fixation and her White House vegetable garden. planned, no doubt, to inspire America’s youth to forego Clintonian Big Macs and to discover the joy of veggies, is a FLOTUS literally and figuratively of a whole different color.
No stranger to controversy before and during her White House tenure, the president’s bride continues to outdo herself. From her “racially-conscious” Princeton undergrad thesis to her stated lack of national pride before Barack ascended to the presidency to her extravagant vacations on the taxpayer dime and borderline bizarre tastes in first lady garb during her personal reign, Mrs. Obama has been a real trip.
Any more than Barack’s gaffes. inanities, and “misquotes” get much MSM play, few of Michelle’s questionably-proper activities and statements get much attention from her husband’s mainstream media, which doesn’t mitigate Michelle’s improprieties any more than they do her husband’s. Both seem to abide by the conviction that they do and say what they do and say because they can.
For example, how many Americans have heard of Mrs. Obama’s electioneering outside a Chicago polling place in 2008? How many have read about such breaches of protocol as her touching Indonesian Information Minister Tifatul Sembiring last year, something which simply is not done with Indonesian men? President George W. Bush was ridiculed for winking at Queen Elizabeth II but Michelle Obama actually slapping a big hug on the Queen of England was attributed to her natural inclination of just being folksy.
Still, those are small potatoes in the greater scheme of political things . . .

Panic In, On, Above, and Below America's Streets
Newswires are awash in panic stories since President Obama killed Osama bin Laden with the assistance of our Navy SEALs, more awash than before he killed OBL.
As Drudge reported on Monday from various sources:
New York’s Senator Chuckie Schumer, who is always calling for something as long as there’s a photo op possible, is “calling for the creation of an Amtrak no ride list. That would take the secure flight program and apply it to Amtrak trains.” (CBS.com) Subways, the LIRR, Metro North are presumably safe enough for Chuckie.
“Two terrifying rail security breaches occurred within hours of each other in [New York] city yesterday–including one at the World Trade Center, where a man slipped into the PATH tunnel and walked all the way to Jersey before saying he had left a bomb in the tunnel.” (New York Post)
Bronx streets were blocked off twice last weekend while the NYPD investigated a parked SUV and another potential ”bomb threat.” (Daily News)
Lest the reader think threats to America are confined to the mean seats on Amtrack and the meaner streets of NYC, three other incidents were reported including “a threatening note” left behind in a Detroit bathroom, diverted three separate aircraft, a Dallas train station was evacuated after a man asked for help carrying parcels, four people were arrested for videotaping a TSA pat-down line in Denver, and TSA agents tried to sniff out explosives in a baby’s diaper at Kansas City International.
Anyone else get the feeling we’re overdoing security? Or, are we? May God forbid we return to the pre-9/11 lax security days but are we over-securing our country and our people and making America an intolerable place in which to live, work, and travel?
More importantly, how long does the government expect us to live, work, and travel under these conditions? If it’s for the duration as they used to say during World War Two, if so, how long is the duration? For as long as Islam threatens and attacks us? If that’s the case, our children, grandchildren, and their children and grandchildren may have to adapt to a system which is evolving into something little different than the old U.S.S.R. and Hitler’s brownshirts imposed on their citizenry.
As burdensome and depressing as that scenario is, there’s a more burdensome and depressing alternative, an alternative which involves America finally announcing to bloodthirsty terrorists of every stripe that we have had enough. In conjunction with our Western allies who would most probably not concur, we further announce we plan to win that war which our current president pretends does not exist, the worldwide War on Terrorism.
The costs of winning would be stupendous. The costs of losing could be stupefying.
This is where the alternative becomes most burdensome and depressing on Americans . . .

I thought I had scooped the world when I noticed the similarities between the great white shark that made an unexpected appearance off the coast of Martha’s Vineyard in Massachusetts and the late “Liberal Lion,” Senator Teddy “Chappaquiddick” Kennedy. Not only did IOTW briefly summarize a Boston Herald story on the event, but they did the Herald one better by capturing the unmistakable Teddy revivivified and transmogrified, floating bloatedly and lazily off his former haunts where some lady named Martha must have tended a vineyard and where the Kennedy clan has cavorted for what seems like forever.

As the bastard who now swims with the fishes proves he was not a total waste of human protoplasm by providing sustenance for his new aquatic friends, it’s time to take a break from all the misleading and contradictory propaganda emanating from Washington following the untimely passing of Osama bin Laden.
Let us just stipulate that, indeed, America’s president, Barack Hussein Obama, was indeed virtually singlehandedly responsible for OBL’s death, arguably with some minimal assistance by the United States’ Navy’s corps–or is it corpse, as Obama says?–of elite SEALs.
True, those brave men did, technically, carry out the raid on Abbottbad but only under the adept direction, skilled guidance, and, ultimately, the heroic decision of our Commander in Chief, even if some vile Obama critics contend that Leon Panetta had to order the attack in lieu of the indecisiveness of the chief executive who had to sleep on it rendering his heroic decision.
Let us, however, dispense with all those ignorant critics and give our leader his just due. His affection for the personal pronouns “I,” and “my,” as used so often in last Sunday’s speech to the nation which he replicated this Sunday on “60 Minutes” should not in any way be misinterpreted as spiking any personal footballs. As Obama said to Steve Kroft, “It was the longest 40 minutes of my life:” http://huff.to/j1h6uR
(As a little divertissement, count the “I’s” and “my’s” in just that “60 Minute” excerpt and, for an additional challenge count The “I” Man’s collective “we’s” which incorporate the minimal SEAL contribution to the operation.)

Some things are as predictable as showers in April, heat in August, and liberals any time of the year.
HEAD FOR THE HILLS, OF OHIO: For example, for whatever reason, it took almost ten years to enter the realm of public knowledge and even then it had to be revealed by the UK press that three noted libs embarked on a hastily-arranged 500 mile road trip in the immediate aftermath of the 9/11 terrorist attacks.
Not that there was anything wrong with that; anyone living in the City of New York would have loved to flee the city although most were unable for various reasons to escape. The late Michael Jackson, Dame Elizabeth Taylor, and Marlon Brando were able to get out, and get out they did, via a rental car when Jackson was unable to secure a private jet since American air space was shut down because of the attacks.
Reports differ as to details of the trio’s flight to safety but Brando and Jackson seemed to have done all the driving, stopping only to gas up and to fuel up Brando’s insatiable hunger for fast food. They finally ended up in Ohio where, satisfied they were finally secure, they took refuge.
Taylor’s hangers-on deny it all of course, saying she instead went to church, tended to the displaced at some armory, and visited the still-smoldering Ground Zero. Oddly, there were no reports of Liz sightings at any of those locales and no reports of collapsing churches in the days after 9/11. Jackson’s retinue say he arranged safe havens for them in New Jersey. Brando had no apologists. (http://bit.ly/m0Ke4G)
RACE TRUMPS PARTY: In a totally unrelated but equally predictable liberal exhibition, black libs in Missouri have re-defined reapportionment as darkening the political landscape by dumping a white Democrat even though the result was a Republican gain.
It all happened because Republicans controlled both houses of the Missouri legislature, Democrats held the governorship, the Reps gerrymandered the state to strengthen black districts knowing they couldn’t win them, and tossed Dem congressman Russ Carnahan into a 49.5% black district.
The Democrat governor, Jay Nixon, loyal to his party, would have none of it and vetoed the scheme whereupon four black legislators joined the Republicans to override Nixon’s veto and screw the sole white Dem, Carnahan. . .

Let’s deal with the fat guy first and send him on his repulsive way. Michael Moore made an appearance on CNN’s “Piers Morgan Tonight,” a show that actually makes Larry King look good, and continued to spout off about Osama’s passing to Allah-Land.
Moore had already characterized bin Laden’s killing as an “execution” and followed up that verdict with Morgan on Thursday by observing that “while he is glad bin Laden is gone, America ‘lost something of [its] soul’ in killing him without putting him on trial.”

According to federal statute 107-40 passed on September 18th, 2001, ”Authorization for Use of Military Force Against Terrorists,” the President has the authority to use all “necessary and appropriate force” against those determined to have ”planned, authorized, committed or aided” the 9/11 attacks or who harbored that enemy.
The joint resolution makes reference to “those acts of treacherous violence . . . which render it both necessary and appropriate that the United States exercise its rights to self-defense and to protect United States citizens both at home and abroad . . . [and authorizes the President] “to take action to deter and prevent acts of international terrorism against the United States.”

Let’s deal with the fat guy first and send him on his repulsive way. Michael Moore made an appearance on CNN’s “Piers Morgan Tonight,” a show that actually makes Larry King look good, and continued to spout off about Osama’s passing to Allah-Land.
Moore had already characterized bin Laden’s killing as an “execution” and followed up that verdict with Morgan on Thursday by observing that “while he is glad bin Laden is gone, America ‘lost something of [its] soul’ in killing him without putting him on trial.”

Securing America
A not quite new but timely and relevant website is rapidly gaining a following in an arena already blog-clogged with some 125 million entries, not counting China’s 75 million but including blogs on everything from reflections on parasites in cupcakes to scientific analyses of the effects of dandruff on sexual stimulation.
Separating the blog wheat from blog chaff crap is no simple endeavor but 9/11 FSA, 9/11 Families for a Secure America Foundation, (http://www.911fsafoundation.org/ ) is certainly worth a further look for anyone bored with parasites and dandruff and interested in insightly perspectives on such issues as the death of Osama bin Laden and on America’s illegal alien invasion.
Twenty-three year James Gadiel, the son of founder and president of 9/11 FSA, Peter Gadiel, worked on the 103rd floor of the WTC’s North Tower. Mr. Gadiel is one of many thousands who suffered the loss of a loved one on September 11th, 2001 and has been active ever since in the pursuit of justice for that fateful day and is primarily concerned with ensuring nothing like it ever happens again to our country.
Toward that end, Gadiel has testified repeatedly in Washington, before the 9/11 Independent Commission, to Congressional committees and state legislatures. He has made numerous guest appearances with people such as Chris Matthews, Sean Hannity, Lou Dobbs, et al. He has met with FBI Director Mueller, the Justice Department and DHS, and President Obama and has received the endorsements of a variety of congressmen including Reps. Sensenbrenner, Culberson, Gallegly. He has personally toured the southern borders of Texas, Arizona, and California.
In short, Gadiel knows whereof he speaks.
Gadiel’s broader view on 9/11–the absolute necessity of establishing border integrity–may not in itself be unique but it renews a subject which has gotten insufficient scrutiny over the last decade. He incorporates and directly links America’s illegal immigration issues with the attacks ten years ago, sensibly arguing that if we had secure borders and a sane immigration policy that tragedy may have been averted. Most of the Islamic, terrorist fanatics who claimed almost 3,000 lives on 9/11 were in the United States illegally. FSA draws a direct nexus between those attacks and the loss of thousands more American lives on Mideast fields of battle.
9/11 Families for a Secure America Foundation has a long and arduous road ahead of it as does America itself before this nation is again reasonably assured that our enemies will never again succeed in perpetrating another atrocity on our shores. The worst thing we could ever do would be to adopt an attitude of complacency or to forget the past which then would become a harbinger of our future.

While the vast majority of Americans are intensely proud of Navy SEAL Team 6 for its successful mission last Sunday and happy, if not universally ecstatic, over its results, Europeans have been largely mute over the mission’s success or demonstrably angry over American impertinence in what they consider a violation of the air space and territorial integrity of a sovereign state and which many contend involved a summary execution of an un-armed man.
There’s no question that Team 6 did indeed infringe on Pakistan’s national boundaries, which boundaries are more porous than America’s southern border, and that nation itself is less a nation than it is a sanctuary for terrorist enemies of the United States–and of Europe.
Whether Osama bin Laden was in fact un-armed or had an AK47 or other weapon in easy reach is still unclear, and irrelevant. What is known is that he was a declared, vicious enemy and his compound was a virtual fortress with high walls topped by barbed wire and that he had armed guards protecting him.
It’s easy to second guess what the SEALs should have done in the heat, the fog, of battle, to Monday-morning-quarterback a perilous military operation since none of us were there, on-site, with those brave men. All volunteers in the service of their country, they were risking their lives to execute a mission deemed critical to America’s–and Europe’s–interests and safety.
Europeans, however, feel free to do just that, to judge the propriety of the assault and to condemn Osama’s killing. . .

Liberal Incivility, Stupidity, and Hypocrisy
Liberals never cease to amaze. Never underestimate their capacity to be uncivil, stupid hypocrites as exemplified by Mike Malloy, Joe Biden, and Barack Hussein Obama.
I assumed lefty talk show host Mike Malloy had hit rock bottom in 2009 when he suggested Glenn Beck follow family tradition and commit suicide. How wrong I was.
Malloy plumbed more outrageous depths this week when he not only grossly violated Obama’s rules of “new civility” and may have broken the law in the process.
Malloy wondered aloud on-air why Navy Seals don’t go kill former president George W. Bush. As he said, “So when does Seal Unit 6, or whatever it’s called, drop in on George Bush? Bush was responsible for a lot more death, innocent death, than bin Laden. Wasn’t he, or am I wrong here?” (http://bit.ly/l1PiG0)
Not only are you wrong there, Mr. Malloy, but it was Bush interrogation policies that led to the Seals’ finally getting the mass murderer Osama bin Laden and there are federal laws against inciting violence against, and the murder of, former presidents. Let’s see if the Obama administration enforces them in this case.
What no one can seem to enforce is a sense of propriety in Vice President Joseph Biden. The VP has to be the dumbest second in command since Spiro Agnew and someone should remind him, in his words, that it’s “a big f*cking deal” when he opens his mouth and spews.
No one in the administration, from Obama to counter-terrorism chief John Brennan to underlings, has specifically identified the special ops troops that took out bin Laden as America’s elite Navy SEALs. It may be widely known from other sources but it was thought discreet and in the best interests of the SEALs’ missions not to name them.
But nothing is off limits to folksy, loose-lipped Biden who went before an audience at Washington’s Ritz Carlton and just couldn’t resist gushing: “Let me briefly acknowledge tonight’s distinguished honorees. Admiral James Stavridis is a, is the real deal. He can tell you more about and understands the incredible, the phenomenal, the just almost unbelievable capacity of his Navy SEALs and what they did last Sunday.”
And what did they do, Joe? Just tell the world, and he did.
“Folks, I’d be remiss also if I didn’t say an extra word about the incredible events, extraordinary events of this past Sunday. As Vice President of the United States, as an American, I was in absolute awe of the capacity and dedication of the entire team, both the intelligence community, the CIA, the SEALs. What is really incredible, phenomenal, and extraordinary is the vice-president’s inability to keep his mouth shut.

As more and more details are revealed, clarified, and denied concerning the Navy SEALs’ take-down of Osama bin Laden, it’s becoming vividly clear that America’s Commander-in-Chief is not all he pretends to be and nowhere near all he thinks he is. Obama’s refusal today to release any pictures or videos of the operation only serves to underscore this president’s ambivalence and indecisiveness.
His Sunday night announcement that agents of America’s Special Ops had finally located and killed OBL provided carefully-scripted appearances that President Barack Hussein Obama was the man in charge from the bloody start to the watery finish. Despite his self-congratulatory words and his repetitive usage of the pronoun “I,” it turns out that not only did Obama not make the call to assault bin Laden’s Abbotabad compound but in fact he was overruled, in effect a figurehead.
As usual with this president, things are not always what they appear to be or how he wants us to believe they are, not even close.
The sensitive mission was a go until Obama decided to go to bed rather than make the final call. As Britain’s Daily Mail, which is not a member of Obama’s state-controlled media, reports, ”The president stunned officials when he told a national security meeting that he wanted more time to think–and disappeared out of the room.” The Mail cites the New York Times in adding that Obama said, “I’m not going to tell you what my decision is now–I’m going to go back and think about it some more. No, they weren’t necessarily cutting class, sneaking out at night, breaking into their parents’ liquor cabinets, or getting too familiar with boyfriends, although they may have done all that. “Jane” and thousands of other young girls were and are employed as child prostitutes.
Their stories are disturbingly similar.
“Jane” was sent to day care where she was molested at four. Her mother was a junkie so she went to live with her pothead father whose roomie sexually abused her after which her dad rejected her. She then went to live with a woman, a family “friend,” who forced her to sell drugs and prostitute herself. She met a 36 year old man in Seattle who befriended her, promised her “a better life,” took her to Portland where he beat her until she agreed to work the streets.
An unusual, exceptional case? Not quite, unless one considers 100,000 to 1.6 million child hookers in America are unusual exceptions.
Those are the estimates of various analysts, the number disparity attributable to the secretiveness of those in the sex trade: “Sex trafficking is so widespread, said Nathan Wilson, founder of the Project Meridian Foundation in Arlington, which helps police identify traffickers and their victims, that ‘no country, no race, no religion, no class and no child is immune.’ He said 1.6 million children younger than 18–native and foreign-born–have been caught up in this country’s sex trade:” http://bit.ly/hRO72D

Doubting and Handwringing over OBL
The old comedian Jimmy Durante had a stock line, “Everybody wants to get into the act” and now, as Osama bin Laden sleeps with his 72 virgin fishes, it seems everybody wants a piece of the OBL action with many bemoaning the success of America’s elite Navy SEALs.
Reactions from the Muslim world were predictable. Pakistan’s former president Musharraf denounced the American violation of Pakistan’s territorial integrity, as if that country had any true territorial integrity and was anything but a terrorist sanctuary. The government in Islamabad denied any knowledge of the mission, which is probably true since they also had no knowledge that bin Laden was a resident for six years; they called it a “unilateral action,” which is fortunate and all but insured its success.
The Taliban and much of the rest of the Muslim world doubted the 6 foot, 4 inch man who was shot twice and killed in the opulent, million dollar compound and residence then dumped, excuse me, lowered into the Arabian Sea, was actually their hero. They will probably still be doubting Ahmeds even after Osama’s death picture is released; they may contend it is a fake because the Osama they knew and loved had an intact head.
Perhaps the most amusing response came from an unidentified imam at Jerusalem’s Al-Aqsa Mosque who posted an anonymous YouTube threat: “The dogs will not rejoice too much for killing the lions. The dogs will remain dogs and the lion, even if he is dead, will remain a lion. We are a nation of billions, a good nation. We’ll teach you about politics and military ways very soon, with god’s help.”
Big mouth, big nation, and the dead lion sleeps tonight.
The overseas reaction to the successful mission was almost as predictable as the Muslim response.
The UK’s Sky News immediately demanded incontrovertible proof of the identity of the corpse dumped, excuse me, lowered, into the water was indeed the late Osama bin Laden. The old comedian Jimmy Durante had a stock line, “Everybody wants to get into the act” and now, as Osama bin Laden sleeps with his 72 virgin fishes, it seems everybody wants a piece of the OBL action with many bemoaning the success of America’s elite Navy SEALs.
Reactions from the Muslim world were predictable. Pakistan’s former president Musharraf denounced the American violation of Pakistan’s territorial integrity, as if that country had any true territorial integrity and was anything but a terrorist sanctuary. The government in Islamabad denied any knowledge of the mission, which is probably true since they also had no knowledge that bin Laden was a resident for six years; they called it a “unilateral action,” which is fortunate and all but insured its success.
The Taliban and much of the rest of the Muslim world doubted the 6 foot, 4 inch man who was shot twice and killed in the opulent, million dollar compound and residence then dumped, excuse me, lowered into the Arabian Sea, was actually their hero. They will probably still be doubting Ahmeds even after Osama’s death picture is released; they may contend it is a fake because the Osama they knew and loved had an intact head.
Perhaps the most amusing response came from an unidentified imam at Jerusalem’s Al-Aqsa Mosque who posted an anonymous YouTube threat: “The dogs will not rejoice too much for killing the lions. The dogs will remain dogs and the lion, even if he is dead, will remain a lion. We are a nation of billions, a good nation. We’ll teach you about politics and military ways very soon, with god’s help.”
Big mouth, big nation, and the dead lion sleeps tonight.
The overseas reaction to the successful mission was almost as predictable as the Muslim response.
The UK’s Sky News immediately demanded incontrovertible proof of the identity of the corpse dumped, excuse me, lowered, into the water was indeed the late Osama bin Laden. Kevin Jennings, America’s “Safe Schools Czar,” officially President Obama’s assistant deputy secretary of the Office of Safe and Drug-Free Schools, unofficially government deviant, is as out of place safeguarding schools as Sheriff Bull Connor or David Duke would have been on a Civil Rights panel or Adolph Hitler as a guess lecturer in Jewish studies.
Jennings gave a lecture in which he equated slavery and racial segregation to alleged discrimination against homosexuals. Civil Rights pioneers must wonder how many gays have been sold, lynched, and sent to the backs of buses.
Jennings doesn’t wonder at all. He’s convinced that homosexuals are the modern equivalent of slaves and their treatment the contemporary equivalent of what African-Americans endured during slavery and KKK and Jim Crow days. At least that’s what he told Maryland high school students. How any of his lies relate to the mission of his office is questionable.
Jennings has an interesting resume’.
A former Massachusetts teacher and author of One Teacher in Ten, he admitted to counseling a 16 year old boy to wear a condom when engaging in homosexual sex acts with an adult predator. He is the proud founder of the Gay, Lesbian, and Straight Education Network, GLSEN, which is little involved with heterosexuals but which ”has played an integral role in promoting homosexuality and pushing a pro-homosexual agenda in America’s schools.” He wrote a laudatory foreward for a book, Queering Elementary Education: Advancing the Dialogue About Sexualities and Schooling. Crazy and Crazier
The word “crazy” may be one of those pejorative but vivid descriptions such as “stupid,” “queer,” and “idiot” which are verboten by the PC Police but for which the English language cries out as needed and proper. There are, of course, levels of crazy and applying the word does involve a degree of subjectivity but some situations and people can be described in no better way.
Take Massachusetts and its health care insurance reform of 2006. Proposed by then-Governor Mitt Romney, a presumptive Republican presidential candidate in 2012, the program is a semi-disaster much like Britain’s venerable, bankrupt National Health Service. Yet both systems were used as models for Obamacare.
The latest medical news from the Bay State is foreboding.
In the midst of a nationwide physician shortage which is expected to grow worse after Obamacare is fully implemented in 2014 as fearful doctors leave the profession or take early retirement, Massachusetts is leading the way and foreshadowing the medical futures of most Americans. We must say most because the Democrat congress that enacted the Obamacare monstrosity and hundreds of unions and favored institutions are exempted from its strictures.
Meanwhile, up in Romneyland, where the former governor exploded health care demands with so-called universal coverage, “by cracking down on insurance premiums, Massachusetts pushed insurers to reduce their payments to providers, making it less worthwhile for doctors to expand their practices. As a result, the average wait to get an appointment with a doctor grew from 33 days to over 55 days:” http://bit.ly/lJJZtK
As that report by Fox News concludes, ”Promising universal health coverage is easy. But what does universal coverage mean if you can’t actually see a doctor?” Good point, Fox! Is it any wonder Obama hates them? They tell the truth.
Demonstrating that craziness is not confined to the Bay State and D.C., the IFC, a branch of the World Bank, both of which are largely funded by American taxpayers, approved “a $26 million loan to build a luxury hotel in Ghana . . .
