Obamacare, an Absolutely Monumental Fraud

Fraudulent governmental initiatives and fraudulent private organizations all have one thing in common: They want the public to believe they are something they are not.




Case in point: Obamacare.



(The monumental frauds Facebook.com, Google.com, the Washington Post, and the United Nations, all of which are great fans of our president and all of which adhere to the misguided liberal principles of deception and distortion, will follow.)



Above all else, President Barack Hussein Obama and the Democrat Party hoped Americans would fall for the lies and hype and believe the Affordable Care Act was eminently affordable and that people who already had medical insurance and who were averse to socialistic medicine would be “permitted” by their government to keep their coverage and their doctors.



As when Obama “absolutely” pledged that Obamacare would not impose any new taxes, both claims have proven to be frauds.



By the time Obamacare is fully implemented in 2018, it not only will be unaffordable to many people but 20 new or greatly-increased taxes will have been levied on Americans and millions of the currently-insured would be able, “permitted,” to retain their doctors only if government bureaucrats approve of their physicians and their course of treatment.



Of course, none of that applies to those bureaucrats, or congressmen, or other federal employees since the ACA exempts them–and millions of workers in protected unions and industries–from Obamacare’s onerous and largely unknown provisions.



When the United States Supreme Court unexpectedly ruled last week that Obama’s legacy issue was constitutional and is now indisputably the law of the land, SCOTUS neglected to incorporate very relevant Obamacare details in its controversial decision.



Never mind that passage of Obamacare had so consumed the president and the Democrat Party for almost two years while they controlled the presidency and both houses of Congress that they were forced to pass the ACA by bribing and intimidating opponents.

Obama-buddy, Can You Spare a Dime?

During the Great Depression, “Brother [Buddy] Can You Spare a Dime” could have been the theme song for that miserable era in American history. It could also serve as the theme of Obama’s endless Great Recession, which is not to suggest I worry about the future.




You see, I’m a member of the president’s in-crowd and I’m convinced they’ll take care of me no matter what, if you know what I mean.



My buddy, Barack Hussein Obama, and my other buds on the Obama-Biden re-election team such as campaign manager Jim Messina and deputy campaign manager Jennifer O’Malley Dillon email me regularly, usually asking for donations, although not in dimes. Sometimes they email just to fill me in on how things are going.



I think that’s very nice of them. I know they consider themselves my buddies since their emails are so darn friendly and they always address me by my first name, which I think is an extra-special touch that enables me to refer to Barack by the first name he used when he was a pothead, Barry.



The president himself contacted me on May 31st all but begging me to help him out. As Barry wrote,



“Gene — Think about this: Today, our opponent is facing the same fundraising deadline we are. But the people I’m counting on at this crucial moment could not be more different. He’s relying on high-powered special-interest groups and a TV personality who’s spent the last week questioning where I was born. Our campaign is built by millions of ordinary Americans chipping in what they can, when they can. Will you help out before midnight? Make a donation of $3 or more right now.”



As requested, I thought about his plaintive request–for almost a millisecond.



I thought much longer about why Barry presumptuously referred to Mitt Romney as “our opponent,” I wondered where Barry was really born, and why he considers multi-billionaire George Soros, wealthy labor union goons, and virtually all of Hollywood’s elite as “ordinary Americans.”



Now, I fully understand that my boy Barry is in desperate straits, what with so many 2008 financial backers backing out and with young people and his African-American constituencies less than enthused over almost four years of hopey-changey which have resulted in more despair than hope and changes that most never wanted.

Based on mainstream media reports and liberal pundit commentaries, one would think that America’s economy had turned a corner, that massive numbers of people were getting back to work, that the re-recession was over, that God’s in His heaven and all’s right in Obamaworld.

Much as all Americans would love to believe that rosy picture, it would be as accurate as believing Obama reveres the United States Constitution.

The Bureau of Labor Statistics released data on Friday showing that 120,000 jobs opened up in March and that the official unemployment rate declined from 8.3% in February to 8.2% last month, the lowest rate in over three years.

That was the good economic news, deceptively good and the only good news.

In point of fact, those 120,000 jobs represented a 107,000 decrease from February’s numbers and far less than the expected 205,000 and were the fewest jobs added in five months, people are leaving the workforce in droves with a record 88,000,000 now not employed at all, the Institute for Supply Management’s factory index was 53.4 in March, down from a high of 59.9 in January, 2011, and Americans are working fewer hours and earning less money.

Contrary to popular perceptions, things aren’t always what they appear to be, especially when it comes to politics.

Politicians and media commentators have a unique ability to reinterpret reality so that, by the time they’re finished with their spinning, it’s difficult to distinguish the real from the fantastical and truth from baldfaced lies. They don’t change what’s real and what’s true but they often succeed in so muddying the waters that the average observer doesn’t see the difference between reality, truth, and prevarication.

A classic case in point is former President Bill Clinton who apparently confused his fellow Democrats to such an extent that lying under oath was not an impeachable offense serious enough to find him guilty as charged. Every Democrat senator, even those who had denounced his actions, voted in 1998 to acquit.

If nothing else, Democrats stick together.

Obama White House chief flack, Jay Carney, knows the Chicago art of deliberate confusion, obfuscation, and subterfuge as if he were born to the task.

Despite all contradictory evidence, Carney made the startling claim at a press briefing that the president didn’t really reject the Keystone XL pipeline. The proposed project, which would have funneled millions of barrels of Canadian oil into the United States and relieved the price pressure on heating oil and gasoline, failed because those rascally Republicans made it impossible for Obama to approve Keystone.

And here we cynics thought Obama was catering to his wacko environmental buddies!

Even ABC’s Jake Tapper was incredulous. Tapper asked Carney, ”How can you say that . . . if the President turned down the Keystone pipeline? And you blame the Republicans for making it political.”

The White House Press Secretary’s byzantine explanation for his reality-bending is too complex to summarize here.

MSNBC’s Andrea Mitchell is as committed a Clintonian supporter as Nina Burleigh but, instead of offering the 42nd president oral sex like Burleigh, offered an amazing, retroactive defense of the Clinton clan.

Commenting on PBS’s surprisingly-honest production of “Clinton,” Mitchell, who never encountered a Clinton she didn’t love, said she felt “nostalgia” for Bill Clinton’s 1992 presidential campaign, denounced the opposition to Clinton as “vicious,” and bemoaned the actual existence of Hillary’s fabrication of a “vast right wing conspiracy. . . There really was an enemy.”

No one expects objectivity from most MSNBC commentators but that political paranoia, articulated without a shred of proof of the existence of any conservative conspirators, is so far over the top that one suspects Mitchell was reciting from the Clinton playbook.

How any conspirator could plant semen on Monica Lewinsky’s blue dress, could inspire the Comeback Kid to parse the meaning of the verb “is,” or could make Mitchell’s hero lie under oath is beyond me, unless that Democrat thing about fudging reality is considered.

That same studied unreality is evidently a major factor in how the Obama administration is dealing with the unemployment problem and the American economy. With little concrete evidence to support either contention, we’re told both are improving, a view comparable to VP Biden’s characterization of 2010 as the year of a “Summer of Recovery.”

Desparate Dems Denying and Lying

Aside from lying and denying, reacting defensively and resorting to outlandishness are sure signs of politicians in trouble. When they lie, deny, get defensive and employ extreme rhetoric, it’s a certainty they’ve gotten a good, rancid whiff of looming defeat.

Based on their recent history, Democrats are evidently smelling electoral catastrophe. It’s one thing when the under-qualified, over-achieving Van Jones makes preposterous assertions, quite another when Democrats of consequence demonstrate palpable fear by their wild flailing.

Like former Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi, former Obama “Green Czar” Van Jones is expected to fabricate lies presented as truth and inanities cloaked as erudite expertise. We can readily dismiss Pelosi’s nutty declaration that women will be dying on floors in droves if House Republicans passed the Protect Life Act and disregard Jones’ praise of the “non-violent” Arab Spring as, respectively, the senseless ravings of an hysterical abortionist and the uninformed jabberings of a pretentious twit.

Less dismissible are the actions and utterances of the Senate Majority Leader and the Vice President even if we allow for their desperation.

Harry Reid has never been a guy to let reason and logic intrude on his ultra-liberal ideology.

He made his confusion vividly clear when he ignored the fact that America was not founded on the principle of public service employment but on free enterprise. The unemployment crisis won’t be solved by government hiring, as Reid believes, but by the private sector expanding and employing more people.

Someone should clue Majority Leader Reid that, contrary to current misconception, we are not yet a socialist nation dependent–and employed–by governments.

In an amazing display of detached reality, Reid said on the floor of the United States Senate, “It’s very clear that private-sector jobs have been doing just fine; it’s the public-sector jobs where we’ve lost huge numbers, and that’s what this [jobs] legislation is all about.”

Sen. Reid’s whereabouts for the past three years must be called into question. Is he totally oblivious of his country’s rock-solid unemployment rate of 9.1% and of the State of Nevada’s 13.4%?

Has he succumbed to the Democrat Party curse of denial in the face of the obvious, is he finally admitting the only way the Obama administration can get 14 million people back to work is by putting them on government payrolls, or is he just loony?

Maybe all of the above.

BULLETIN: Bloomberg.com reported on Wednesday that Americans have not only given a rousing thumbs-down to Obama’s “Job Act” but thumbed their noses at the president because of it.

As if President Barack Hussein Obama were foretelling the future at the same time he was serving up an object lesson on how he believes Americans should solemnify the memory of September 11th, 2001 by a “day of service,” he slapped up vittles in a soup kitchen on 9/11.

Most Americans disregarded, if they didn’t ridicule, his asinine idea of substituting public service in lieu of solemnity on 9/11 but they will be hard pressed to dismiss the image of soup kitchens in our future, especially in view of reports of spreading poverty and in light of the president’s lackluster performance in so-called “jobs speech” last Thursday.

It will be far more challenging for Obama’s MSM to provide cover for an entire speech which was essentially an hour-long whine indirectly bitching at Republicans for their intransigence in favor of preserving the Republic and avoiding national bankruptcy instead of burdening the taxpayers, their children, and grandkids with another boondoggle.

With his trillion dollar 2009 unstimulating stimulus an abject failure in putting Americans back to work, Obama’s economic wizards devised another sure-fire scheme, the piddling Son of Stimulus, a $447 billion plan incorporating many of the unpalatable elements of the original failure, features previously rejected even by Obama’s own Democrats.

This time around, the Anointed One left his ointments home and didn’t emulate Bartles and James by politely thanking Congress in advance for its support. Instead, almost churlishly, he repeatedly demanded the Congress pass the new waste now, at once, two weeks ago, if possible.

In various forms, he reiterated his demand at least 17 times, apparently fearing that if congresspeople read it before passing it, they may not like it and forgetting that he isn’t an emperor and that the legislative branch is co-equal with the executive.

All but stamping his foot, whining of the consequences of non-passage and touting the improbable benefits, Obama resembled more an petulent child than a president. My four year old grandson would be sent to time-out or, preferably, to his bed, for such infantile conduct.

To his credit, the president didn’t repeat his “shovel-ready” lie; many of his brand new shovels won’t be shovelling until 2013, coincidentally after Election Day 2012.

Early on in his unprecedented second address to a joint session of Congress and the American people within less than 32 months–this president obviously craves attention as much as my grandson–Obama declared his “Jobs Act” would be fully “paid for,” as opposed to Obamacare, for instance. . .

. . . Unlike most carpenters, Buffett has, he says, cut off his progeny from his billions when he eventually shuffles off this mortal coil. Susan, Howard, and Peter Buffett can just shuffle for themselves, he says, when Warren bites the bullet and moves on up to the great corporation in the sky.

He might just as well sing, “If I were a billionaire/ And gave it all away/ Would you love me anyway/ Would you be my babies?”

Maybe they will, and maybe not since Buffett’s whole, politically-motivated charade, his pledge to give away 99% of his almost boundless wealth, most to be dispensed, with strings attached and in relative deibbles, to the philanthropic Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, is an outrageous crock.

Borne of his new-found, George Soros-esque, socialistic, pseudo-egalitarianism and guilt over decades of milking the capitalist system for all it was worth, Buffett’s pledge is less a promise than a threat.

When octogenarians sniff their mortality, some seem to get social consciences even as their years tend to cloud their sanity.

Alternatively referred to as the Oracle of Omaha and the Sage of Omaha, the oracular, sagacious Buffett earned his billions as Chairman, CEO, and principal shareholder of the amazingly-successful American conglomerate, holding company, Berkshire Hathaway.

Just incidentally, Buffett indirectly made my neighbor a millionaire when Berkshire’s principal holding, Coca Cola, bought out his modest Coke delivery enterprise. For that, my neighbor is eternally grateful, even worshipful, of Buffett, Berkshire Hathaway, and Coke, although he thinks Buffett’s professed, current political and economic views are asinine.

Good call, neighbor!

In conjunction with his 99% pledge which, even if fulfilled some day and which would leave him with a piddling $600,000,000 of his current $60 billion kitty, Obama buddy Buffett wants his fellow billionaires to cough up half their money for the common good, an invitation with as much likelihood of acceptance as Obama becoming a capitalist.

Knowing that Pollyannaish idea is a non-starter, he has other monetary plans up his sleeve which would threaten the livelihoods of millions.

Buffett made headlines with his as yet unfulfilled 99% giveaway as well as with his claim of paying 17.4% in federal taxes, a much lower rate than that paid by his secretary, and with his persistent insistence that the government undertaxes the rich even as it is in dire need of additional funding.

He ignores the truth that the upper echelons already pay 70% of federal taxes and 45% of those at the other end pay zilch and he doesn’t cite the primary cause of that funding shortfall–Obama’s profligacy. He also hasn’t offered to raise his secretary’s salary in compensation nor to write a check for ten billion or so to the Treasury Department to tide it over.

Observations on Crimes and the People Who Commit Them

Criminality like poverty will always be with us. It doesn’t take an unemployed NASA scientist to realize that, as long as the human species reproduces unsavory malcontents, greedy thieves, and amoral sociopaths, some people will assault, rob, maim, and murder other people.

Crime and criminals exist in every socio-economic strata with those in the “upper classes” most often engaging in major thievery and embezzlement–like the master of the Ponzi scam, Bernie Madoff–although the rich and famous aren’t exempt from murderous escapades–like rock impresario Phil Spector.

Other classes are more likely to indulge in a wider variety of criminality, what some sociologists explain away as a consequence of their status: In effect, they steal because the devil or their mama made them do it and they maim, murder, and wreak havoc because they don’t know any better due to poor parenting, impoverishment, social inequities, and societal-legal discrimination.

All of that, of course, is hogwash. Poor criminals become criminals for the same fundamental reasons the rich become criminals: a lack of respect, for themselves, for the law, for common decency, and for other people.

The Irish were notorious criminals a century ago. The term “paddy wagons” dates to the nineteenth century and referred to New York City police vehicles used to transport often drunk and disorderly, legal Irish immigrants arrested during Civil War draft riots and, afterward, apprehended for petty thievery or worse misdeeds.

The Irish–and Italians, to a lesser extent–climbed out of that political rut because they gained, earned, and learned respect for themselves, etc.

Today, although it’s politically incorrect to articulate it and the FBI is no longer allowed to track crime on racial bases, the unfortunate truth is that African-Americans per capita are responsible for far more criminal activity than whites. This widely-understood, but minimized, ignored, and buried fact of criminal life was previously detailed in “Taboo! The Truth about Black Crime,” http://bit.ly/nPFZFm.

That said, it’s incontestable that, compared to whites, blacks represent a grossly disproportionate number of inmates in U.S. jails and prisons. However, the rate of black incarceration is not attributable to racism, as racial agitators contend with scant proof, but to the reality that African-Americans are disproportionately guilty of the commission of crimes.

That brings us back to the root question of, Why? In turn, the “why” leads us to the aforementioned dearth of respect and those same agitators who make their street creds–and all too frequently win elections--by perpetuating the racism myth as the cause . . .

Obama's Hopeless, Liberal Change

There are liberals and there were liberals.

I’m talking here about American libs, not the British types who are a whole different set who have evolved from beliefs in classical liberalism to free thinkers, whatever that means, to what the new Brit PM calls his “conservative liberal” party, whatever that means.

Until relatively recently, British libs and American libs had one value in common: Without qualification, they cared for the well-being of their respective countries above all else, a sentiment absent today from the philosophy of America’s new liberals as epitomized by Barack Hussein Obama.

President John Fitzgerald Kennedy was a liberal. So, too, were the Happy Warrior, Hubert Horatio Humphrey, and a whole slew of other Democrats in the past half century, not inclusive of Lyndon Baines Johnson who governed by consensus until Dems turned against him for waging the Vietnamese War and conservatives rebelled because he refused to win that war.

Liberals in days gone by differed in many respects from their more conservative, Republican, opponents but they shared with that opposition a fundamental patriotism, a love of country which superseded base partisanship and the opportunings of special interests groups whose demands were contrary to the best interests of the country.

Not anymore.

That idyllic era came to an abrupt conclusion with Barack Hussein Obama although the end was presaged by Jimmy Carter’s inept politics of malaise and fearsome attack rabbits and Bill Clinton’s governing from the vantage points of what Dick Morris advised would best get him re-elected and how Monica Lewinsky could best service him.

Today, our president, elected despite his dubious credential of being the most liberal senator in the United States Senate during his remarkably brief two-year tenure in that august body, is locked in a death struggle.

His is certainly not a personal death struggle, to be sure, since he will no doubt outlive most of us thanks to his penchants for repetitive relaxation excursions to golf links, a multiplicity of family vacations in opulent locales, and a studied nonchalance as to the domestic and foreign perils the nation faces.

Obama’s stuggle primarily relates to the questions of whether to succumb to his instincts to abjectly cater to the insistent demands of his most restless constituencies or to head to the middle and again sucker a majority of 2012 voters into thinking he isn’t as radically liberal as he actually is.

He has many choices on his overflowing plate, including:

Should he stay his economic course and promote additional monetary stimuli which fail to stimulate, advance job programs which only increase government employment, add even more regulatory constraints which strangle businesses, and allow the EPA to cripple any recovery with its mindless obsession with inconsequential environmental issues?

. Should he strive to win what he called the Afghanistan ”war of necessity” or bug out and abandon that country to Taliban repression and a return it to a terrorist haven? . . .

America's "Vacaying" First Family: A Portent?

. . . As I’ve previously speculated, it may just be that Barack and Michelle smell major changes on their horizons, changes they believe in with as much intensity as they felt in 2008.

Former White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs recently opined that Barack Hussein Obama isn’t wedded to his job as president and Obama has said much the same thing. He also predicted to Matt Lauer in February, 2009 that his presidency would be a “one-term proposition” if the economy did not recover in 3 years.

In view of the unfortunate reality that, 2 1/2 years into his tenure, the economy shows no signs of recovery and is swirling in the toilet, it makes sense that the Obamas are packing their bags even as they continue to milk the president’s job for all its worth.

Recent actions by the First Couple reinforce the idea that they are planning to vacate the premises at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue on or about January 20th, 2013, or sooner should they get a better opportunity or if the president finally concedes ineptness and was unqualified to hold his office in the first place.

How else can we explain their contemptuous, callous disregard for the concerns of the American people during a critical time other than, one, either Obama simply wants out of the presidency or, two, he doesn’t have the slightest clue on what to do about the unemployment crisis, or both?

Now, no one could possibly begrudge the leader of the free world taking some R&R time and Allah only knows how hard Obama works–25/8, according to his bride!

It’s fully expected when Rep. Michelle Bachmann criticizes President Barack Hussein Obama but much less anticipated when representatives of two of his prime constituencies, blacks and hispanics, rip into their hero.

Bachmann cited Obama’s miserable record on economic growth and job creation and its impact on blacks and hispanics–16% black unemployment, 12% hispanic, and 40% and 26% among black and hispanic youths, respectively–as bases for concluding, “This president has failed the Hispanic community. He has failed the African-American community. He has failed us all when it comes to jobs.” (http://bit.ly/iua4Qg)

She could easily have listed any number of additional failures on his resume but focused on jobs in her Friday speech to the Republican Leadership Conference.

Instead of demonstrating leadership and vision on employment and the myriad other crises facing the nation, the Obama administration prefers to entertain Americans with an odd brand of humor. This oddity was seen in the president cracking jokes last week about the failure of his trillion-dollar stimulus boondoggle to stimulate shovels and Press Secretary Jay Carney’s riotous yuk on Monday about paying off our multi-trillion budget deficit with the $2 he won from his new golfing buddy, Speaker John Boehner.

Unfortunately, lame jokes don’t go very far for the country or the president, especially when members of his fan club aren’t amused.

Little seems to amuse the Rev. Louis Farrakhan who expressed his displeasure with his “brother” Obama’s treatment of his friend, Libyan dictator, Moammar Qaddafi in March. Calypso Louie then totally dissed his bro, the President of the United States, with the rhetorical question, “Who the hell do you think you are?”

Farrakhan is newly incensed over Obama’s kinetic action in Libya as seen in a May video now all the rage on YouTube: ”We voted for our brother Barack, a beautiful human being with a sweet heart, and now he’s an assassin. They turned him into them.” The antecedent of “them” is unclear although the founder of the black racist Nation of Islam was vividly clear in his denunciation of the “murderer in the White House,” again because of Obama’s actions against Moammar whom Louie considers a decent man.

THE MOST EXPENSIVE JOBS IN HISTORY: We all want America’s unemployment rate to go down, right? We want it to decline even further than the administration’s reported–fabricated–February 8.9% number announced last week. The question remains as to what the nation can afford to spend in order to create jobs, and rosy statistics.

In an imaginative rhetorical flourish, President Obama’s economic wordsmiths long ago, as in two years, concocted a new employment term, “created and saved jobs,” a term as vague as it is unverifiable.

Allowing for estimates by the allegedly non-partisan Congressional Budget Office of somewhere between 1.3 and 3.5 million new jobs resulting from Obama’s American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, ARRA, “The Stimulus,” each of those positions cost a minimum, on average, $228,055 per, a rather hefty sum for taxpayers to lay out during a nasty recession for jobs that paid significantly less than $228,055 a year: http://tiny.cc/c0r5u

Even we who are admittedly math-challenged can see the absurdity there as well as we can see the complete and utter failure of Obama’s plan to jump-start the economy by exorbitantly spending monies the country doesn’t have to hype employment that, historically after downturns, has always increased on its own.

Not incidentally, the CBO also said it had been wrong in its original cost estimate for The Stimulus. Initially, the CBO estimated ARRA would cost a mere $787 billion. The CBO is now guessing $821 billion but what’s a piddling $34 billion to a people now on the verge of national bankruptcy?

Anyone still wonder why Americans neither believe nor trust government, especially when that government is controlled by Obamian-Alinsky socialists who would like nothing better than to plunge us into chaos and are presently peforming admirably in their quest for that goal?

MICHAEL MOORE INVADES MADISON: Less admirable if more prodigious is the figure of Michael Moore. Matching the girth if not the integrity of New Jersey’s Governor Chris Christie, Moore is a veritable caricature of the Hollywood liberal.

The bloated, hypocritical, leftist Moore not only revels in denigrating America but is so filled with venom and himself–and with the food provided by this hateful nation–that he can’t see the truth beyond his formidable belly. On the back of capitalism, he rose from obscurity and as a failed seminarian in Flint, Michigan to become our foremost celluloid critic of the capitalistic society that enabled him to spew his vitriol.

With formidable competition, Moore has risen to the top of the Hollywood hypocrite heap as spokesman for the downtrodden who sends his child to private schools, who resides in a million dollar Manhattan apartment, whose schlockumentaries are proven lies, and who throws tantrums when he doesn’t get his way, among other demonstrations of his infantilism. “There are three kinds of lies: lies, damned lies, and statistics,” said Mark Twain. Less memorable and catchy is the line that “Statistics are the products of propagandists.”

Both apply to the government’s announcement that the nation’s unemployment rate dropped minimally to 8.9% and a piddling 192,000 new jobs were added nationwide in February, which still left 13,700,000 people out of work. Still, the numbers do represent an improvement in the job market since the November rate of 9.8%.

Then we get to other bad news: The Bureau of Labor Statistics reports that black unemployment stands at 15.3%, hispanic at 11.6%, teenagers at 23.9%, with 2.7 million “marginally attached,” part-timers and workers who had given up looking for jobs, a number up 200,000 in a year: http://tiny.cc/c6yo6

Now comes the realy bad news: The BLS numbers are baloney. As CNBC’s Rick Santelli pointed out on Friday in “Good Jobs Report Has a Dark Side,” things are not always what they appear to be.

Government stats fall short of reality by not factoring into the good news the bad news of America’s incredible shrinking work force.

As Santelli explained, “The government’s definition of the labor force is all individuals 16 years of age and older, who are employed or seeking employment. It does not include students; retirees; anyone with unreported income, or ‘discouraged’ workers. . . meaning the percentage of Americans not working or even trying to join the work force is at a near three-decade high.”

Vice President Joseph Robinette Biden, Jr. may go down in history as the most quoted VP America has ever had.

Until now, Nixon’s disgraced Vice President Spiro Theodore Agnew may be said to have held that title thanks to his inimitable alliteration such as his classic putdowns. They included “nattering nabobs of negativism,” “pusillanimous pussyfooters,” and “hopeless, hysterical hypochondriacs of history.”

Biden could never hope to match those and doesn’t seem to be much into alliteratiion anyway and his most recent classics aren’t fit for family viewing. Those include his remark to Obama after the passage of Obamacare that “this is a f***ing big deal” and his comment to a custard store manager that he was being “a smarta**” for asking him to cut taxes.

His latest excursion into memorable quotations may not even be Biden’s originally but it’s being associated with him. At least his reference to “recovery summer” is not rated PG 13 like the others. . .

The Oil Mess: The L.A. Times reported when “Top Kill” was the last, best hope for plugging the British Petroleum gusher that the Obama administration was saying it was all over the Gulf oil spill.

The only way Obama was all over that oil mess was when he was trudging through it which he’s done 3 times now and counting but nothing ever seems to happen about it except more rhetoric and more gushing.

Trying to make up for weeks of inaction and disinterest, “Batting away suggestions that the federal response has been lackluster and that BP executives have been calling the shots, Obama insisted that ‘BP is operating at our direction. Every key decision and action they take must be approved by us in advance,’ Obama said. If the Coast Guard orders BP to do something, he added, ‘they are legally bound to do it’: ” http://bit.ly/bHgLE3

Just whom does this guy think he’s kidding. The federal response was not “lackluster;” it was non-existent until the Obamian incompetence became as transparent as the president said his administration would be. Only then did Obama semi-mobilize the forces that should have been deployed in April.

To say now that BP is going to ask how high when Obama tells it to jump is as patently absurd as wanting the American public to believe our government even knows what to do with the hole in the Gulf. The best bet at this point is to let BP and assisting oil companies to do their thing since they are the putative experts.

We should keep a close eye on them and what they’re doing, provide all the logistical back-up they need and more, stay out of the way when it comes to technical details, focus on the clean-up operation, and bill them for every nickle expended.

Obama can’t be blamed for the gushing oil. He very defintely can and should be blamed for not dealing with the consequences on a timely basis. . .

The Truth Will Out, and Other Lies

“The truth will out,” along with what seems a million other terms and phrases, is credited to Will Shakespeare and, as with so many other wise Bard aphorisms, is generally true. Except when it isn’t.

We’re bombarded daily with news reports, announcements, statements many of which, based on their sheer repetition, become chiseled in our brains as absolutes when they are absolutely false.

Fortunately, usually, the truth will out, will work its way through piles of faleshoods and be exposed for what it is.

Two examples follow:

The Global Warming Farce, aka The Big Lie: A prime instance of truth outed is the long-running charade that is anthropomorphic/anthropogenic climate change.

Those big words, simply a high fallutin’ multisyllabic way of saying mankind did it, is a baldfaced lie which is finally getting exposed.

We have been warned and lectured that man is responsible for global warming/cooling/climate changing for years now and that we had better stop being poor stewards of the planet before said planet eats us up and spits us out.
