He’s a Nazi! He hates white people and wants them dead! He’s a chimp!

Chill. Those repugnant charges haven’t been hurled against President Barack Hussein Obama over the past three years but they were repeatedly used to describe President George W. Bush for eight years by his virulent critics who substituted “black” for “white” and without the slightest objection from the mainstream media.

As Kathleen Parker pointed out on WashingtonPost.com, Google “George W. Bush, Hitler” and you get almost 14 million links.

“Nazi” and “chimp” were the preferred Bush pejoratives on the blogosphere and elsewhere and the drug-addled Kanye West outrageously accused Bush of hating blacks because West, son of racist Black Panther, Ray West, thought Bush didn’t do enough for Hurricane Katrina victims. He and the MSM were strangely silent when President Obama ignored mostly white people suffering in the Midwest following the horrendous spring 2009 floods.

Then, again, I guess it’s not so strange. It all depends on whose ox is being gored and who’s doing the goring.

Virtually no one was silent, however, after Hank Williams, Jr. ventured into politics during an appearance on “Fox and Friends” Monday morning and undiplomatically voiced his opinions on the oddity of a Democrat president and vice president enjoying a golf outing with Republicans John Boehner and John Kasich last summer.

The fact Congress and Obama were embroiled in the critical national debt limit debate as they teed up struck Williams–and a number of other people–as weirdly anachronistic and he said so, though his choice of words was unfortunate for him.

Hank Jr.’s song “All My Rowdy Friends Are Coming Over Tonight,” which has opened ESPN’s “Monday Night Football” for 20 years, will be heard no more after the singer blurted out on Fox that the Republicans and the Democrats shooting a round of golf at that time was ”like Hitler playing golf with [Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin] Netanyahu.”

Williams might have escaped opprobium had he stopped there but the obviously-dense “Fox and Friends” co-host Brian Kilmeade said he didn’t understand what Williams meant. . .

We all know that former President George W. Bush is the cause of all the ills plaguing America, right? After all, our current president, Barack Hussein Obama, has said so, repeatedly if sometimes indirectly.

However, are Americans aware that Vice President Joe Biden has exonerated Bush, casting considerable doubts on carefully-cultivated conventional liberal-Democrat wisdom?

VP Biden recently undercut his boss’s tired, old economic mantra of “Bush did it,” that GWB is responsible for everything from failed banks to high unemployment to the plunging stock market, as well as for chaos in American schools, rioting in the streets and, probably, for too many fat kids eating Twinkies instead of watercress wraps.

Loose lips may have sunk Allied ships in WWII and it may be too much to hope that loosey-goosey Biden sank Obama with his remarks last week that the albatross of America’s miserable economy should be removed from Bush 43 and hung around his boss’s neck.

More precisely, the vice president, known for speaking his mind even when there’s nothing in it, said, “Right now, understandably–totally legitimate–this [Election 2012] is a referendum on Obama and Biden and the nature of the state of the economy.”

Sluts and racism would seem to be an odd mishmash of topics except that recent news items link them as elements of what’s seriously wrong in America.

SLUT is an ugly word designating a slovenly woman in Britain and a cheap, sexually promiscuous girl or woman in America, what UrbanDictionary.com defines as a skank, whore, and, in the hood, a “hoe” who is “too loose in the booty.” The word is made all the more ugly when we consider President Obama’s call for greater civility in public discourse and is uttered by one of his own, a committed leftist.

A little context: Laura Ingraham is a 47 year old, conservative radio talk show host and conservative political commentator and author of four best-selling books. Did I mention that she’s a conservative?

On the other side of the aisle–at the bottom of a squalid, slimy pit might be a better analogy–lurks MSNBC’s 57 year old, rabid, liberal attack dog and liberal commentator, Ed Schultz, who consistently plumbs the depths of humanity with his observations.

Did I mention Schultz is a liberal?

Anyway, he was talking about the weather the other day on MSNBC’s “The Ed Schultz Show” when he couldn’t resist a total non-sequitur and launched into a Republican-conservative assault accusing his nemeses of insensitivity toward victims of the recent, horrendous floods and tornadoes.

Where or how he came up with that I have no clue anymore than I have a clue as to why he viciously attacked Ms. Ingraham as a “right wing slut . . . yeah, she’s a talk slut.” I guess he didn’t get the Obama civility memo. The MSNBC resident lunatic Schultz is no stranger to controversy. He is also no stranger to incivility. He previously ranted that, “The Republicans lie! They want to see you dead! Bush Tales from the Vacuous Side: Candy Crowley and the Professor

What does it take for Obama’s MSM to wake up and smell reality? So consumed as they are by lingering hatred of George W. Bush, the poor things can’t see or think straight.

Take CNN’s Candy Crowley. Please. Not that she noticed but Ms. Candy had a reality check during an interview of Bush 43′s Secretary of Defense Don Rumsfeld who was plugging his new best-seller, Known and Unknown. Apparently she was thinking she was dealing with an Obama lackey when she tried to put words in Rumsfeld’s mouth by alleging “that in two years [Obama] has been able to return this country to a status of being liked across the world in a way that America was not liked during the Bush administration. That he has once again made America a beacon.”

That “beacon” brings to mind Ronald Reagan’s memorable, “America is a shining city upon a hill whose beacon light guides freedom-loving people everywhere.” If Crowley was making an attempt to compare Obama with Reagan, she should be committed.

She may have meant one of the two related definitions of “beacon” as “a source of guidance or inspiration” or “a signal fire, especially one used to warn of an enemy’s approach” but that’s unclear, although the latter has some credence. As “a source of guidance or inspiration,” her hero has been a resounding dud unless, that is, Crowley believes guiding a nation toward bankruptcy and dividing a nation along racial, economic, and cultural lines is inspiring.

Like the liberal pit bull she is, Crowley went on, ”Do you agree with that? Do you think that the U.S. is now looked at much differently than it was and much more positively than it was during your tenure?” which was tantamount in stupidity to asking if Moammar Khadafy thought he was near and dear to the hearts of Libyans.

With a studied nonchalance and more patience than most people could muster, Rumsfeld responded, “No. And I don’t think there’s data that supports that,” then added a stinging zinger, “I think he has made a practice of trying to apologize for America. I personally am proud of America.”

Aghast at his response, as any Obamian would be, Crowley soldiered on: ”Well, he seems to be quite popular overseas in a way that President Bush was not. The streets aren’t full of people burning him in effigy. There does seem to be a new–a chance to look at America in a different way than it did during the Bush administration. Ever the gentleman, Rummy politely disagreed and didn’t suggest the obvious, that Candy and her coterie try reading the newspapers rather than just DNC talking points.

A breathless exhibition of venom on Salon.com, a website that makes one wonder whether leftists get nosebleeds high up in their unreal ivory towers, “Who’s the Worst President of Them All,” far surpasses Candy Crowley in both political myopia and pure vitriol in assigning Bush 43 the bottom slot in a virtual tie with James Buchanan.

Evil has been defined as “morally reprehensible.” That definition fails to do justice to the evil that is George Soros.

There are few words more pejorative and demeaning than the word “evil.” The word conjures up disturbing, devilish visions of unremitting wickedness and abject immorality. ”Evil” should not be used lightly but when deeds or individuals defy more benign description it must be used. György Schwartz, aka George Soros, is evil incarnate.

Variously described as a financier and philanthropist, on his website, and as a bizarre, manipulative, nefarious, soul-less psychopath and criminal anarchist by more objective sources, Schwartz-Soros, a Hungarian-born Jew, actually facilitated the Nazi occupation of his native country and persecution of his fellow Jews, an insidious propensity for treachery and treasonous behavior he later brought to England and America.

Even before young György’s father renounced Judaism, György capitalized on the Holocaust-in-progress by collaborating with the Nazi occupiers in Hungary. Fully aware they were being transported to their deaths, he helped facilitate the shipment of Jews to concentration camps in order to confiscate their property. As if abandoning his heritage, his people, and his nation weren’t sufficiently evil, just last month Soros freely confessed he didn’t give a damn about anything he did and offered no regrets for his actions.

In an article titled, “George Soros, Nazi Obsessive,” Kyle-Anne Shiver discusses Soros’–and his equally-amoral father’s–financial skullduggeries in Budapest and cites some of György’s recent descents into evil in America. His senseless, repugnant comparisons of President George W. Bush to Hitler, after young György had prospered as a Nazi enabler, and his attack machine, MoveOn.org’s, vicious abuse of General David Petraeus as “General Betrayus” only emphasized Soros’ character flaws and deficits as a human being.

On what basis Soros felt qualified to call himself one of “us,” as an American, is as much an enigmatic evil as Soros.

What Shiver does not emphasize in her excellent article is the overriding danger and threat George Soros poses for the nation he presumptuously calls his own. She goes much too easy on him. She quotes him telling a reporter in 2003 the many reasons he despised GWB and saying, “My experiences under Nazi and Soviet rule have sensitized me” to Bush’s alleged Nazi proclivities: http://tiny.cc/0gd5y

The thought of Soros being “sensitized” to anything aside from Soros is beyond absurd.

Shiver contends that Soros “has a Nazi problem,” which he does, as well as severe and chronic ethical and moral problems. Anyone who can say, as Soros did later in life, that the year 1944 during which he aided, abetted, and profited from the mass . . .

. . . Now that the ninth anniversary of what is easily the most godawful day in American history, September 11th, 2001, has passed without the threatened Qur’an burnings in Florida–thanks to the persuasive words and strong arms of the FBI–we can sit back and await the momentous tenth anniversary which may see a mosque overshadowing Ground Zero.

One group of people won’t be sitting back, however. The 9/11 Truthers, aka 9/11 Skeptics, aka Truth Activists, rarely sit back.

They believe in their gut that the United States government and/or President George W. Bush somehow, in some way, planned/caused/executed/allowed/consented to (choose one or more of the foregoing) the hijacking of four American airliners and flying them into the World Trade Center towers, into the Pentagon, and into the ground at Shanksville, PA.

On face value, the Truthers’ case would have to be considered the most preposterous of all conspiracy theories, the most outrageous accusations against its government by its people, a reflection of a bitterness and cynicism so complete and sinister that they could conceive of their leadership murdering 3,000 innocents to accomplish their own Machiavellian ends.

I don’t buy it but I have to admit these Truthers raise troubling and still unanswered questions about 9/11.

I started out with ingrained opinions on the Truthers but, as with the Birthers, I try to be as objective as possible, one reason being that I promised a good friend, a closet Truther, that I would strive for objectivity. . .

Anyone else get the feeling that the Obamian foreign policy–whatever it was–is coming apart at the seams–wherever those seams were?

Even most of those who voted for him in 2008 were aware that Obama knew as much about international relations and foreign policy as Homer Simpson but their thinking was that all would be fine with a top foreign policy expert like senate veteran Joe Biden in the VP slot and a savvy Hillary heading the State Department.

Barack would be an outstanding domestic president, tending to such things as health care for all, legal or not, sick and healthy, poor and wealthy, aged or young while Jolly Joe Biden, and Hillary Clinton, would take care of all things extra-national.

Jolly Joe is no Dick Cheney and Hillary is no Condi Rice. They’re more akin to Soupy Sales and Mme. LaFarge.

What wasn’t factored in was Biden’s innate boobery and Hillary’s main interest, beating her boss in the primaries in 2012, so it’s no wonder the pickle we’re in as a nation, both domestically and internationally.

There are fair and honest opinions and then there are sick, vicious diatribes.

The essence of that story relates to a French-Canadian who cracked a joke which so exceeded the boundaries of good taste that to call it merely incendiary is understatement.

The Radio-Canada network host said, almost six months ago: ”It will be good to have a Negro in the White House. It will be practical. Black on white, it will be easier to shoot him.” Said host, whose name does not deserve mention, no doubt considered his remark amusing which clearly demonstrates he is a nitwit and an historically-challenged twit as well.

Even allowing that the witless witticism was spoken by a French-Canadian, it was beyond tasteless and reflected a gross ignorance and insensitivity not only to Obama and his family but to the vast majority of Americans, even to those of us who didn’t vote for the man, and never would.

Fortunately and unfortunately, I lived through those November days of 1963 after Lee Harvey Oswald assassinated America’s president, after Jack Ruby in turn murdered Oswald, and as the nation sat stupefied by it all, that stupefication reaching its zenith and its nadir with the funeral and burial of John F. Kennedy, our 35th president.

I say fortunately because with that perspective I am able to understand perhaps a little better the gravity of Oswald’s cowardly, overtly seditious act and its effect on Americans. Conversely and unfortunately perhaps, I am more sensitive to any suggestion that it be repeated or that even an attempt be made at repetition.

I should add that at the tender age of 18 I did not support the candidacy of Jack Kennedy, despite his Irish heritage. But at the still-tender age of 21, I abhorred his murder.

I also strongly opposed the insanity of nominating and electing Barack Hussein Obama to the presidency. I much more strongly abhor ”assassination jokes” by foreign and domestic sickos which minimize the murder of any American president.

Then there is the other hand, not regarding presidential assassinations but regarding objective criticism and parody of our current, sitting chief executive.

George W. Bush was vilified, castigated, ridiculed, and parodied from the day he announced his candidacy, to his two elections, and throughout his 8 years as president. (For the record, I voted twice for Bush, by default.)

2008–THE GOOD, THE BAD, AND THE UGLY

As a tumultuous 2008 draws to a lurching close and a turbulent 2009 waits in the wings for the Times Square ball to drop tomorrow night, it’s an apt time to look back on the past year.

However, since every broadcast and cable network is already presenting its 2008 Year in Review, it would be redundant to do so here. Instead, I humbly offer my picks for the best, the worst, and the ugliest ”things” of 2008.

All of those categories feature multiple, worthy contestants although there are far fewer candidates vying for the peak of the good heap than there are for the bad and ugly top spots.

Far and away the best thing to happen to America over the past year would also have to be the choice for the past seven years as well, namely a non-event, the fact that the nation has not suffered another terrorist attack in almost 88 months.

That fact has led to a distinctly blase’ attitude among many Americans who have pushed memories of 9/11/2001 to back burners or have pushed it off the stove entirely, which is extremely unfortunate since those who forget the past historically ended up reliving it in the future.

Despite one’s view of President George W. Bush, he has to be accorded his due. Our national security programs and systems are deeply flawed, as has been pointed out in this space, but they have evidently been sufficiently effective, so far.

What the future holds, what 2009 and ensuing years have in store for us, is speculative at best but, as of now, we are relatively secure as a nation so the best thing not to happen to America in 2008 is easily the absence of another assault. For that, Americans should be deeply thankful and should be praying the situation continues. GWB deserves tip of the hat.

I struggled to choose the worst thing about 2008 because of the more subjective nature of such a choice....
