Jonathan Alter and the Scandal-Free Obama Administration

Jonathan Alter and the Scandal-Free Obama Administration

Bloomberg.com recently published an article by Jonathan Alter titled, “Obama Miracle Is White House Free of Scandal.” There are very few better examples of liberal obtuseness and evidence they suffer from acute political astigmatism.

Alter, liberal author, liberal columnist, senior editor of Newsweek for 28 years who helped drive that liberal magazine into virtual bankruptcy and its sale for the tidy sum of one dollar, frequent contributor to Al Franken’s liberal Air America which filed for chapter 7 bankruptcy, still appears as a commentator on liberal MSNBC among other liberal MSM and still totally idolizes liberal president Barack Hussein Obama.

Did I mention Jonathan Alter is liberal?

Evidently flummoxed by fellow leftists’ waning support for our failing, flailing chief executive, Alter successfully attempts in his piece on Obama’s miraculous avoidance of scandal, its “scandal-less state,” to be as honest and transparent as the hero he so deeply admires.

“Obama Miracle” would be comical if not for the Halloween-y scariness of its author’s knowing commission of deceptions.

Alter skirts the dirt and completely avoids reference to what is rapidly developing into the most contemptible presidential scandal since Republican president Richard Nixon lied about Watergate and Democrat president Bill Clinton lied under sworn oath.

In fact, Obama’s scandals are far worse than Nixon’s and Clinton’s. They merely lied to protect their sorry arses and to deceive the American people but Nixon was just stupid and Clinton just a congenital liar. Obama, and his henchmen, have not only lied but have cost the country hundreds of millions of dollars and, more reprehensibly, have cost the life of a border patrol agent.

That last, deadly fiasco, the grossly-botched Department of Justice/ATF Fast and Furious gun-running operation, effectively gave some 1500 weapons to Mexican drug cartels to wreak havoc south of our border and to murder agent Brian Terry.

Government and law enforcement agencies often foul up stings like Fast and Furious. What they are not expected to do is what Obama’s Attorney General Eric Holder has done, lie and obstruct congressional inquiries into what went wrong.

Jonathan Alter’s reaction to Fast and Furious and its relevance to administration scandals? Fast and Furious? What Fast and Furious? Alter would sooner air Holder’s filthy New Black Panther Party linen!

Either Alter is ignorant, obtuse, Obama’s cover-up point man, or all three.

While praising the president’s honesty, character, and integrity without sourcing any of those debatable attributes, Alter lambastes Republicans for allegedly tarnishing Obama’s reputation and attacks the Obamian favorite whipping network, Fox News, for “manufactured controversies,” also without providing any substantiation.

He criticizes GOP Rep. Darrell Issa’s contentions that Obama’s is “one of the most corrupt administrations” in history, a view predicated mainly on the White House and Justice Department consistently stonewalling on every issue Issa is trying to investigate.

He accuses Fox of manufacturing stories concerning the multitude of Obama’s extremist “policy czars,” those secretive heads of agencies recruited from the leftist fringes and put in place without congressional scrutiny.

Alter knows full well that stonewalling, refusals to cooperate with legally-constituted authorities, is invariably indicative of illegalities and unethical conduct. At the very least, they put the lie to this president’s vaunted, unfulfilled, transparency.

As for Fox, he knows that the only conservative alternative to the liberal mainstream media has exposed far more than just the czar scandals . . . (Read more at http://www.genelalor.com/blog1/?p=5842.)

Muffingate and Cupcakes

Muffingate and Cupcakes

Bureaucrats at the Department of Justice deny hosting conferences featuring cupcakes for which the department paid $16. apiece–not to mention $10. for cookies, coffee at a buck an ounce and snacks at $32. a head–even after its own Inspector General rebuked them for excessive spending and the DoJ agreed to monitor such expenditures more closely.

As per Obamian protocol, the DoJ recovered its fumble, then punted–to the previous administration contending most of the conferences in question took place under George W. Bush’s watch. In effect, Attorney General Eric Holder’s department said, We didn’t do it, Bush did it, but we won’t do it again.

With all the charges of racism, gun running, and lying that have been lodged against Holder, $16. muffins and $10. cookies, etc. are the least of his, and our, problems but, still, it must be confer an extraordinary sense of entitlement to be able to waste precious tax monies when the nation is gasping.

Closely related to what CBS dubbed “Muffingate” is the allegedly-racist Berkeley cupcakes scandal; both muffins and cupcakes are baked goods.

NPR, which technically stands for National Public Radio but could more accurately be described as Nationally-susidized Public Radicals, took great umbrage at last month’s demonstration of racism in action at the extreme University of California at Berkeley. NPR’s Michel Martin felt the campus Republicans were unoriginal, intellectually dishonest, willfully ignorant of what minorities have endured in the past, and should “man up.”

What Martin didn’t say was that this was Obamatime, payback time, so suck it up, honkies!

The Berkeley College Republicans–yes, there are a few sane kids out on the Left Coast–had hosted a “diversity bake sale,” which seems innocuous enough. However, it was the dastardly right wing pricing structure for the cupcakes that got NPR’s collective shorts in a wad.

The goodies were offered for sale to white students at $2. each, to Asian-Americans at $1.50, to hispanics for $1.00, to women for $1.25, to African-Americans for seventy five cents, and to Native Americans for a quarter, quite the bargain for the ladies, Latinos, blacks, and Indians, not so much for Asians and Caucasians.

Staged as a protest against legislation to establish race as a factor in admissions by the University of California, to judge college applicants not on their qualifications–or character content–but by the color of their skin, . . .

More Riotous Times in Obamaland

More Riotous Times in Obamaland

A great, new product, “delicious little mints” called “Disappointmints” and depicting President Barack Hussein Obama in a classic pose and the caption, “This Is Change?” is on the market. Priced originally at $3.00, the capitalist pigs selling the confection jacked up the price to $5.00 and delayed delivery until September when demand for “Disappointmints” far exceeded the on-hand supply.

I won’t furnish the details on the on-line dealer since they say in their sales pitch, “Hey, we’ve been as big a fan of Barack Obama as anyone,” even if they add, ”But with each compromise for the sake of unity, ‘Yes we can’ looks more like ‘No he can’t.’ “

In point of fact, the president definitely can. The issue is more precisely, What has Obama done and therein lies the aptness of Disappointmints.

Among a multitude of other domestic and international failed initiatives, he has managed to effect a virtual state of siege in various American communities where blacks have run amok.

Two recent incidents are only the latest illustrative examples of how well Obama’s post racial civility is going.

Following riots and pandemonium earlier this year in and around his adopted town of Chicago, in Peoria, Ilinois, in Bessemer, Alabama, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, (see “Riotous Times in America,” http://bit.ly/l5QQr0), and in Des Moines, Iowa, (See “They Eyes Don’t Always Have It,” http://bit.ly/riDuRM), new eruptions broke out this past week in Philadelphia and again in Milwaukee.

A public transportation bus became the site of an insane shooting scene in Philadelphia after a male passenger chastised a mother for spanking her 2 year old for acting up on the bus. The passenger threatened to turn her in for abusing her child. The woman forestalled that notification by immediately grabbing her cell phone and making a call.

She disembarked at her stop with the assistance of her brother who cleared the way for two men who then loosed a fusillade of 14 bullets from an assault rifle and a handgun into the bus.

Watch the mayhem and the actions of the black mother and the black gunmen on a surveillance video: http://bit.ly/mZpAbf

Some people may have forgotten that Philly was the scene of the 2008Election Day white voter intimidation by the New Black Panther Party, one of whom said at the time that this is what you get with a black man in charge. That implications of that threat have become very clear and were accented by Obama’s Attorney General refusal to prosecute the Panthers and subsequent indications the DoJ wouldn’t pursue cases unless the aggrieved parties were minorities.

You may have forgotten all that but the new Philly gunman evidently didn’t nor could the residents of Milwaukee have forgotten what happened there last Friday since it was a virtual re-play of the Mayfair Mall mayhem in January with the qualification that this time the marauders were more violently focused at the Wisconsin State Fair. . .

Confusions and Disillusions

Confusions and Disillusions

Confusion is often a by-product, or the direct product, of disillusion or disenchantment. Washington and most of the rest of the nation are overflowing with all of the above these days and the causes are many.

For example, new Republican Congressman Allen West, as well as most conscious, thinking Americans, is totally flummoxed by what we are doing in Libya. As he says, “For every decision there are consequences and we have to sometimes analyze what could be those consequences. Just the same with operations in Libya–I cannot understand it. I don’t know what the goal and objective are.”

Welcome to the club, Rep. West!

Americans were told the non-war in North Africa, a “kinetic action,” in Obamaspeak, would last weeks, not months. It has lasted weeks, a whole bunch of weeks so far. with no end in sight. In our eleventh week we still don’t who the rebels are or whether they’re better or worse than Moammar Gadhafi and what, in the president’s words, what he meant when he described the adventure as a “slow, steady process.”

Perhaps even worse, West believes we are “committing our Air Force and our Navy to be kind of like a ‘rent-a- force.’ ” (http://bit.ly/ivw4h3)

I would only add to Rep. West’s observations questions such as:

. Why are we in Libya in the first place since we were never told and, since the operation began, Obama has alternated between making nice to Gadhafi and deposing him?

. Who’s really in charge since we led the assault, then deferred to NATO, yet it is American naval and air power doing the bulk of the dirty work?

. What the hell is a “kinetic action?”

I don’t expect President Obama to respond to either Rep. West or to me. We are both warmongering conservatives, we both support the Tea Party movement, and we’re both white racists despite the fact West is black.

More confusion and disenchantment with the president is emanating from, of all places, the Central Intelligence Agency, former bailywick of the man who gave the order to go get Osama bin Laden.

Veteran Democrat politician, Leon Panetta, apparently did little or nothing to interdict the witchhunt being waged by America’s Attorney General Eric Holder designed to persecute and prosecute the very people most responsible for consigning Osama to swim with the fishes until there is nothing left on his sorry carcass.

Pete Hoekstra (R,MI) former chairman of the House Intelligence Committee, contends, “There is an undercurrent of ‘dissent and dislike’ for President Obama among the rank-and-file of the Central Intelligence Agency” due to Holder’s witchhunt. Holder wants to punish those CIA officers for using “enhanced interrogation techniques” to induce accused terrorists to cough up or throw up information that could protect millions of American lives.

Or, find and kill Osama, which they did.

Without using the term, hypocrisy, Hoekstra said, “And what’s really amazing is that all the things in the realm of intelligence that Obama badmouthed as a candidate in ’08, he has now embraced as President. He has been much more aggressive in the use of predator drones than the Bush Administration was. . . has acknowledged that enhanced interrogation techniques helped get the information that led to the successful raid on bin Laden’s compound. And President Obama has never closed down the U.S. operation at Guantanamo, as Candidate Obama promised to do over and over again. Under Obama, the U.S. has continued the policy of unlimited detentions and the use of military tribunals.” (http://bit.ly/jzQJyL)

Nevertheless, Holder’s . . .

Sharia, DOJ, Border, Cuban Surprises!

Sharia, DOJ, Border, Cuban Surprises!

We all just love surprises, no? Well, most people seem to even if I don’t although I have to admit some surprises can be entertaining.

For instance, it came as a total surprise that Muslim Sharia law can supersede the Constitution in America. At least that’s the case with Hillsborough Circuit Judge Richard Nielsen in Tampa, Florida.

Judge Nielsen was all verklempt over a lawsuit against a local mosque, the Islamic Education Center of Tampa so what else could he do but conclude, ”This case will proceed under Ecclesiastical Islamic Law” to determine whether the mosque followed Koranic law in a matter involving an Islamic scholar: http://bit.ly/gtALT4

The mosque attorney made more sense than the judge when he said, “The mosque believes wholeheartedly in the Koran and its teachings. They certainly follow Islamic law in connection with their spiritual endeavors. But with respect to secular endeavors, they believe Florida law should apply in Florida courts.”

Makes sense to me. I mean, Tampa isn’t London.

Equally surprising, and galling, was the decision by Eric Holder’s Department of Justice to deny justice in school bullying situations–an area of law for which we are still searching for federal constitutional authority–toward straight white people. President Obama and AG Holder have already, repeatedly, demonstrated an antipathy toward white Americans and now have furthered that discrimination by vowing to apply federal law selectively.

They will “enforce federal laws that protect students from discrimination and harassment at school because of their race, national origin, disability, religion, and sex, including harassment based on nonconformity with gender stereotypes.” http://bit.ly/dE2r6H

If you’re some poor, normal white kid being harrassed, pummeled, discriminated against, you’re SOL. If you’re black, yellow, Kenyan, Buddhist, gay, transgendered, the feds have your back.

Another surprise, at least to our present government, is that all those millions of illegal aliens–sorry, undocumented, poor people . . .

America Blowing in the Impeachment Wind

America Blowing in the Impeachment Wind

The lyrics of Bob Dylan’s 1963 ambiguous anti-war song of protest, “Blowin’ in the Wind,” conclude with the lines, “The answer, my friend, is blowin’ in the wind/The answer is blowin’ in the wind.” Regrettably, although Dylan posed some questions, he never provided any answers to the satisfaction of my obtuse mind.

It’s all the more regrettable since, if Dylan’s mind hadn’t been boiled in drugs, he would still be rambling on today and could tell us the answer when there are more winds blowing than ever before in American history.

Those winds are blowing everywhere in 2011, winds of war in the Mideast, winds of upheaval in America’s schools and streets, winds of despair and confusion in America’s economy and stock market, winds of change in Washington that only President Obama’s most ardent acolytes could ever have foreseen.

One can’t help but think that today’s winds, if not all orchestrated and manipulated from Washington, are being cultivated and fanned by the Obama administration to accomplish its near and short term goals of Obama’s re-election followed by Obama’s ultimate change, the transformation of America into the dream of his father and of his mentor, Saul Alinsky.

The precise nature of that dream has yet to be revealed although we know it involves a socialistic “workers’ paradise” predicated on a nightmarish existence in which a tyrannical Big Barack and his minions call all the shots. A rudimentary rule for any tyrant is to dictate designated exceptions in laws or to order by executive fiat an existing law null and void.

The administration’s latest effort in that regard was to undermine the rule of law in the country by “deciding” not to defend an established statute, the Defense of Marriage Act, DOMA.

That action, or inaction, was not only an abrogation of Constitutional mandates but also a reinforcement of a precedent previously set when Obama’s Attorney General Eric Holder “decided” that civil rights laws and penalties only attach to white people and not to black revolutionaries in the New Black Panther Party.

When the Obama administration announced on Wednesday that it had withdrawn its legal support for DOMA and stated that the law is unconstitutional and therefore the Justice Department is under no obligation to defend it, Obama and Holder effectively threw out a law on the books for 15 years. Hypocritically contending he was still “grappling” with the concept of gay marriage instead of forthrightly admitting he was actually catering to the demands of his gay constituency, the Grappler in Chief thus assumed the role of a one-man Supreme Court.

Chief DoJ lackey, AG Holder, explained the president’s position . . .

Our Department of Selective Justice

Our Department of Selective Justice

. . . Adams’ charges needed no collaboration; his record and reputation spoke for themselves. However, now they have been seconded in spades by an equally-well respected DOJ prosecuter, Christopher Coates.

Coates ”defied his superiors by testifying at a U.S. Civil Rights Commission hearing Friday, where he leveled an explosive allegation: Top officials in the department gutted a voter intimidation case against a fringe African American militant group [the New Black Panther Party] because the suspects were black and their alleged victims were white.”

Coates went even further, saying that, “the downgrading of the case against the New Black Panther Party was evidence of a Justice Department culture which discouraged ‘race neutral’ enforcement of civil rights laws, frowned on prosecuting minority perpetrators and folded under pressure from black and Latino rights groups. After President Barack Obama and Attorney General Eric Holder took office, the culture intensified.”

In Coates’ own words, “They [the Department of Justice] have not pursued the goal of equal protection of the law for all people:” http://tiny.cc/jihx8 . . .

What's a Mother to Do? Part Two: Saving Sheriff Joe

What's a Mother to Do? Part Two: Saving Sheriff Joe

Mother’s Problem Number Two: Saving Sheriff Joe

For those unacquainted with Sheriff Joe, i.e., Sheriff Joe Arpaio of Maricopa County, Arizona, he’s the law enforcement official most hated by the Mexican drug cartels who have put a million dollar bounty on his head because he’s afflicted with an odd quirk: He insists on doing his job and enforcing the immigration laws of the State of Arizona and the United States of America.

Sheriff Joe is also the law enforcement official most hated by the Obama administration and Eric Holder’s Justice Department who haven’t, as yet, put a bounty on his head and instead harass and threaten him for the same reason, his odd quirk about doing his job and enforcing the immigration laws of the State of Arizona and the United States of America.

It’s as presumptuous of me to suggest saving the tough and independent Sheriff Joe as it is for the DOJ to suggest he cease and desist from repeatedly rounding up Mexican and other illegal aliens in his state and incarcerating them in his tent prison. There they are decked out in pretty pink garb, served adequate but far from sumptuous meals, and expected to behave as prisoners, not as indulged guests of the state.

It’s presumptuous but I’ll do it anyway.

Long a burr under the saddles of everyone from the ACLU to La Raza to every other illegal alien rights group in the nation, Sheriff Joe, the self-described “America’s toughest sheriff,” was issued a second ultimatum last week insisting he “comply with a Justice Department request to explain his office’s ‘operations, policies and procedures’ involving the arrest and detention of Hispanics.” . . .

Justice, Swiss-American Style: The Roman Polanski Case

Justice, Swiss-American Style: The Roman Polanski Case

At first blush, the announcement by Swiss Justice Minister Eveline Widmer-Schlumpf not to extradite Franco-Polish film director Roman Polanski back to the United States to face punishment for the 1977 rape and sodomy of a 13 year old would seem a miscarriage of justice on the part of the Swiss government.

In fact, it is that and more but the miscarriage was aided and abetted by none other than the United States Department of Justice, Eric Holder, Attorney General.

Apparently, the pressure exerted by the Hollywood Lobby, a prime constituency and financial supporter of the Obama administration, was too much to resist and the DOJ failed to cooperate with the Swiss in providing evidence in the case.

Polanski was originally charged with rape, sodomy, child molestation and supplying illicit drugs to a minor for seducing and brutally attacking Samantha Geimer.

Now 45, Geimer has forgiven him and doesn’t want him prosecuted. She has made no mention of hush money.

He pled guilty to unlawful sexual conduct with a minor, was convicted, . . .

Obamanation News

Obamanation News

As the president continues to berate BP into bankruptcy and his hapless second-in-command toots his own vuvuzela at the World Cup, other news about this president and his administration tends to get lost in the news shuffle which doesn’t make those stories less significant even if they are buried and/or ignored by the MSM.

For example, we have the story of what constitutes Obama’s prime constituency which, almost exclusively, consists of “unmarried, unchurched, poor and inexperienced people, . . . [and] Ph.Ds,” according to an interpretation of a new Gallup poll.

The PhD part makes that an odd mix, unless we factor in that the letters PhD very often stand for Piled higher and Deeper by overachievers.

Gallup’s latest poll shows Obama’s overall popularity at a new low of 46% and that he is strongest among the younger folk, those who don’t attend church regularly, and those who earn less than $2000 a month–as well as eggheads

Even worse for the president, his popularity numbers among the poor and non-churchgoers are declining: http://bit.ly/b8QLSG

We should probably expect a multi-billion dollar popularity bailout in the near future. . .

Surprising Words, Depressing Numbers

Surprising Words, Depressing Numbers

SURPRISING WORDS: On Election Day 2008, the New Black Panther Party for Self Defense deployed its uniformed troops outside Philadelphia polling centers wielding billy clubs in a blatant show of voter intimidation. Anti-white racial insults were hurled at potential voters and one witness claimed one Black Panther said they were “tired of white supremacy.”

One of the last acts of the outgoing Bush administration was to file suit against the group and one of new Attorney General Eric Holder’s first acts was to dismiss that suit.

Nevertheless, Holder claimed last Friday that the Justice Department’s Civil Rights Division is the “conscience of our nation.” That division deals with hate crimes and voting irregularities: http://tiny.cc/cr4c2

Once again it’s apparent that so-called hate crimes have become a one-way street in which only whites can be guilty. It’s also apparent that blacks can never be accused of voter intimidation, at least according to the mindset of the “conscience of our nation.”

Other surprising words were voiced by Holder’s boss on Monday on the “Today Show” when he reverted to Chicago gutter speak . . .

Then Again, Maybe Not: Of Rats and Ratholes

Then Again, Maybe Not: Of Rats and Ratholes

We’re all entitled to change our minds. Given the fallibility of the human species, rarely are people’s opinions and ideas so chiselled in stone that they never re-think their actions and beliefs.

Exceptions to that rule of thumb must be made for individuals who are so caught up in themselves, so arrogantly obsessed with their own rectitude and infallibility that their pride negates any possibility of reassessment and retrenching.

Barack Obama comes to mind in that regard but we mortals frequently change our minds, whether for better or worse.

A number of opinion changes have hit the wires lately, mostly forced changes:

. Civilian shimilian, who cares?

Obama’s attorney general may have at least a smattering of that mortality since he seems ready to reassess a significant and erroneous decision, namely trying 9/11 mastermind Khalid Sheikh Mohammed and his four sidekicks in a civilian court within crying distance of Ground Zero.

Some still refer to KSM as the “alleged” or the “accused” mastermind of the 9/11 atrocity but he’s much more than that. With a little help from America’s best interrogation friend, waterboarding, Mohammed spilled his guts so in my book he’s the confessed leader of that rat pack.

Months ago, Eric Holder, obviously running interference for his boss, made the ostensibly independent decision to hold the trial in federal court in lower Manhattan. This was while Obama and Holder still believed they had control of our government and the minds of the people.

Neither is the case any longer.

Holder and his minions have used the Bush precedent of successfully trying shoe bomber Richard Reid and other terrorists in civilian courts which was a misleading deception from the outset.

Most of those trials took place in the early days of the war on . . .

Rally Against NYC Terror Trials!

Rally Against NYC Terror Trials!

. . . Those opposed to this farcical show are planning a massive demonstration at noon next Saturday, December 5th in Foley Square, Manhattan.

The 9/11 Never Forget Coalition, http://defendourdefenders.org/, consisting “of 9/11 survivors, family members, first-responders, veterans, and active-duty and reserve military” in conjunction with its “partners, TheBravest.com (a site maintained by New York firefighters remembering the fellows they lost on September 11, 2001), 9/11 Families for a Safe and Strong America, and Keep America Safe“ will stage the rally: http://bit.ly/7soYrU .

Foley Square, in the heart of N.Y.C., is accessible by various bus and subway lines.

The rally will be the first, and maybe the last, chance for Americans to be heard in opposition to Holder’s asinine and dangerous call to give Khalid and al-Qaeda what they’ve wanted all along. Within weeks, this crew will be regurgitated on the doorstep of what once was the World Trade Center. . .
