A True 9/11 Lowlife: Natarajan Venkataram
Call them low-lifes or low-lives, they abound in our society today and Natarajan Venkataram isn’t the first and won’t be the last. He just qualifies as being among the lowest for stealing as much as $10 million in funds intended to identify the remains of the World Trade Center’s 9/11 victims.
India-native Venkataram admits to stealing from New York City’s Medical Examiner’s office, is abjectly sorry for his acts, is currently in federal detention at the Fort Dix Army Base, and refuses to turn over what’s left of his thievery.
Compounding his gross iniquities, he’s bitching about prison conditions.
The job of identifying the remains of 1,100 of the approximately 2,780 people who died at the World Trade Center on September 11th, 2001 is stupefying as evidenced by the vast number yet unidentified a decade later.
Many of the dead were vaporized in the fiery cataclysm of the attacks and relatives of the dead have suggested some remains were ignominiously dumped at the former Fresh Kills landfill in Staten Island, where an estimated two million tons of Ground Zero debris from the WTC were literally dumped to enable the rebuilding of the center complex.
The contentions of the relatives have been substantiated by the recovery of hundreds of bone and other human fragments at Fresh Kills as well as on the roof of the Deutsche Bank building.
Not that the ghoulish Venkataram cared about the horrors of 9/11 or where victims were buried or dumped. . .

Gays on Parade, Literally!
Get your gay-est hats on, folks! There’s a big day coming up in New York City, a day you may want to put on your calendar–or maybe not.
Following on the heels of an even bigger day, the passage by the New York State legislature of a gay marriage bill Friday evening, homosexuals should be positively ecstatic and promise to make Sunday a day to remember.
The legalization of homosexual weddings in the Empire State, long-sought by Democrats and the gay lobby, was rushed to Democrat Governor Andrew Cuomo who signed the Marriage Equality Act into law in the dark of night.
Finally passed after decades of gay agitation and weeks of heated debate, and after 4 Republican state senators caved under pressure, the law joins New York with just 5 other states and D.C. in the unique position of conferring a legal imprimatur on homosexual marriage.
Gay couples hugged and wept with joy in the gallery.
Catholic Archbishop Timothy Dolan was far less sanguine and released a statement of his concerns which included these foreboding words: “We worry that both marriage and the family will be undermined by this tragic presumption of government in passing this legislation that attempts to redefine these cornerstones of civilization. Our society must regain what it appears to have lost–a true understanding of the meaning and the place of marriage, as revealed by God, grounded in nature, and respected by America’s foundational principles.” (http://cbsloc.al/iWkKuY)
However, what’s now passed is past and whether it’s prologue will be determined by the future. For now, let the gay games begin or, more precisely, continue.
There will be little if any weeping or worries about civilization this Sunday, what was once called the Lord’s Day, though there defiintely will be lots of hugging and other things.
Sunday will culminate the annual Gay Pride Week in N.Y.C., actually 8 days. but who’s counting, with a big parade and a “Pridefest” street fair starting at noon. Marchers will begin strutting their stuff at 36th Street and head down to Christopher Street in Greenwich Village for the annual Gay Pride rally and the annual “Dance on the Pier” on Hudson Street, near but not in the Hudson River.
Sad to say, at this juncture you have already missed the kick-off celebrations last Saturday with the annual rally at Central Park’s Summerstage and may have missed the annual “Rapture on the River: A Women’s Dance”. . .

Gays on the Verge of Marriage in New York
Call it same-sex marriage, gay marriage, or its misleading official title, the Marriage Equality Act, New York State is on the precipice of taking the plunge into the abyss of making gay marriage legal in the Empire State.
Prohibited either constitutionally or by statute in forty-one states, codified nationally by the 1996 Defense of Marriage Act, aka the Respect for Marriage Act, legalization efforts by well-financed homosexual activists have been on an unprecedented campaign to pressure New York legislators not to defend but rather to disrespect marriage for decades. The agitators failed as recently as 2009 but are on the verge of having their demands met this week.
Already passed by the Democrat-controlled Assembly, with new Democrat Governor Andrew Cuomo poised to affix his signature to the legislation as soon as it reaches his desk, the only stumbling block remains the Republican-controlled State Senate where intense pressure is being applied to influence the vote.
Stalling tactics succeeded last week in postponing that vote so last minute agitation to place the measure on the Senate docket is now at a crescendo with less than a week to go in the legislative session. That pressure resulted in Republicans caving on their political and moral principles; at this juncture, a single state senator stands between passage and defeat.
Before any Republican votes in favor of the “Marriage Equality Act,” a carefully-crafted euphemism for a “Marriage Debasement Act,” he or she should be required to view a video of homosexual activists in action. They are the same people now trying to scrap thousands of years of tradition and rational thought.
The video taken at a New York City “Gay Pride Parade” featured a “green devil” whipping the screaming crowd, which included children, with a giant penis, cross-dressing, buxomy transsexuals/transgenders, prancing, flower-bedecked, bra, speed-o and tutu-clad ”men” of various colors and nationalities, a float with a dozen semi-naked “men” advertising their “services” in a gay magazine, another pushing “lesbian night lifes,” yet another reputedly showed NYPD cops strutting their stuff.
Signs reading such uplifting advice as, “His Body, His Penis, His Choice,” and “Fuck safely. Use a Condom,” which condoms were liberally thrown into the adoring crowd, abounded in the parade.
Among the proud marchers were New York’s Democrat Senator Charles Schumer and the soon-to-be disgraced Dem, Rep. Anthony “Wiener” Weiner. The Dem Governor Cuomo will be there next year.

Under 3-term Mayor Michael Boomboom/Bloomberg, New York City is fast evolving into the Nanny Capital of America. Smoking is banned virtually everywhere, sodium-salt is restricted in restaurants, and sugary foods are next on the hit list as Bloomberg continues his quest to care for every health need of New Yorkers, at the expense of depriving them of the right to decide when and where they will puff and what they can eat.
Big Mike is watching you!
Perhaps bowing to complaints that the city is becoming a mini-nanny state with arbitrary rules imposed by an supposedly omniscient, authoritarian government, New York is now getting into toilets, actually into all things watery.
Already all the rage in Europe, “dual flush” toilets are coming to a New York bathroom near you.
As part of a wide-ranging water conservation law passed by the City Council this past week, “new toilets will have to be high water efficient or ‘dual-flush,’ which allow users to choose between a high pressure flush for solid waste, and a low-pressure flush for liquid:” http://tiny.cc/ao674
See! Bloomberg can now say, we allow individual decision-making, even if that decision is rather simple except in certain cases when toilet users . . . Well, use your own personal experience and imagination.
No word yet on whether thousands of new city workers will have to be hired to monitor strict compliance with the liquid-solid rules.

The utter destruction of the World Trade Center by Islamic terrorists on September 11th, 2001, the attack on the Pentagon, and the failed attack that ended in a barren Pennsylvania field that same day will long be remembered and long be the subject of books, articles, poems, anecdotes, remembrances, movies, documentaries as well as rumors, innuendos, and outright lies.
Without diminishing the tragedies in Washington or in Shanksville, by the sheer force of the death toll in New York City, the attacks on the WTC must be considered the greatest loss America suffered nine years ago.
The venerable, New York-based television series, “Naked City,” used to begin with the narrator’s words, “There are eight million stories in the naked city.” Following are three more which help capture the reactions, lack of reactions, and feelings of residents of that same city nine years ago. . .

Advertisers know that certain key words attract attention. One of those words is “FREE!” since everyone loves a freebie.
Under the auspices of President Gotrocks, who shovels money out of the United States Treasury as if it were worth nothing, which it soon may be, Uncle Sam has become the very generous old uncle who used to throw quarters or a dollar bill our way when we were kids. The primary difference between Obama and that old unc is that Obama doesn’t toss his own bucks around, he dispenses the taxpayers’ bucks.
Barack Hussein Obama, having now joined the heady ranks of the newly rich himself thanks to his book sales, like others in that nouveau riche classless class such as the Clintons, has no respect for hard-earned money, especially when it’s not his.
Bailouts on top of bailouts, stimuli on top of stimuli, with government bureaucrats handing out stimulus funds as if it were candy, as if it were Marie Antoinette doling out cake to the bourgeosie and hoi polloi, as if it is a useful tool to purchase votes, have caused an unprecedented explosion of American greed.
Where’s my cut of all those trillions, people are thinking and saying, when do we get our share? . . .

Sexting Redux: N.Y.C.
It’s common knowledge among adults that the sexting craze among teenagers has to be the nuttiest departure from normal behavior since the goldfish-swallowing fad began in the 1930’s. Back then, the only harm came to the goldfish. Sexting can lead to irreparable, lifelong harm, even suicide, for teens.
For those still unaware, sexting is an outgrowth of the ubiquitous cell phone and has encouraged teenagers, particularly but not exclusively young girls, to push and exceed the limits of discretion by transmitting revealing pictures of themselves and/or “talk dirty” on their cells, which pictures and talk can then become property of the internet when the recipients post them on websites.
Sexting is undoubtedly a serious social problem that can develop into other problems as critical as texting while driving. Both can result in severe injuries and sexting has already resulted in teen suicides when their nude and semi-nude photos become public.
All that said, the new New York City Department of Education proposed policy on sexting is an absurd exercise in an unenforceable and excessive abuse of power. . .

Gay Pride Rights Week and a Dearth of Pride
As Gay Rights Week approaches in N.Y.C., it only seems respectful and supremely PC to devote regular articles to homosexuals, gays, lesbians, bi-sexuals, trans-sexuals, tri-sexuals, gerbil afficionados, cross dressers, and NAMBLA predators.
And what more ironically appropriate day to begin this week-long annual festival of all things gay than Father’s Day weekend?
This promises to be a Big Apple biggie for the gaysters. The year 2009 is the 40th anniversary of the Stonewall Riots in N.Y.C.’s Greenwich Village, those iconic riots during which homosexuals exited that gay bar in droves when cops raided the place.
Joined by hundreds of non-bar hopping gays and many who no doubt exited their closets that night, they pelted police with beer bottles, rocks, and whatever else was handy and launched the Gay Revolution.
They seem to be winning that revolution four decades later so this is no time to be slackers and sluff off and rest on their multicolored laurels or fail to display the multicolored gay pride flag:
It will be tough for the New York contingent to out-do their Boston counterparts who pre-empted them last month, although I’m certain they’ll give it their best shot. Mayor Bloomberg and the Impertinence of Probing Questions
Serving as mayor of New York City has been called the second toughest job in the country, second only to the presidency.
That description of the Big Apple before it was the Big Apple was coined forty years ago by then-mayor John Lindsay, probably the city’s second-worst mayor in the twentieth century after Jimmy Walker.
Oddly for such a tough job, people seem to fight like hell to set up residence in Gracie Mansion. The current mayor, Michael Bloomberg, has declined to live there for reasons of his own, probably because it would be beneath his dignity.
A lifelong Democrat, zillionaire Bloomberg switched parties in 2001 and ran as a Republican, defeating the hapless Mark Green to succeed Rudy Giuliani, one of the best mayors in the city’s history. The new mayor effectively bought the mayoralty, the only way a candidate with an “R” after his name could hope to win in today’s NYC.
Giuliani was legally prohibited from running again due to New York’s term limits law. Such legalities posed no obstacles to Bloomberg.
Bloomberg was as much a Republican as Arlen Spector . . .

Giuliani was legally prohibited from running again due to New York’s term limits law. Such legalities posed no obstacles to Bloomberg.
