Skewed Liberal Perspectives
We all have opinions. Some of us like white meat, others dark. Some of us lean Republican, others Democrat. Some of us prefer the ocean, others the mountains. Some of us make sense, others don’t.
Few of us have huge forums on which to share our opinions, and influence, millions.
Four liberals, four of legions who spew illiberal deception, MSNBC’s Martin Bashir, House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, singer Tony Bennett, and Democrat Rep. Jan Schakowski do have bully pulpits and use them to articulate some of the most cockamamie views imaginable and many people believe them.
For example, Republican presidential hopeful Rick Santorum isn’t the perfect candidate for the office of the presidency of the United States of America–and who is?–but is he in any way comparable to the murderous dictator of the U.S.S.R., Joseph Vissarionovich Stalin, or to George Orwell’s Big Brother?
Martin Bashir, a Brit of Pakistani origin with the temerity to attack Americans, thinks so.
Democrat President Franklin Delano Roosevelt regarded Stalin as a good buddy, “Uncle Joe,” despite Stalin’s record as as a mass murderer of millions, and Bashir considers Sen. Santorum as little different.
Betraying his leftist intolerance of conservative opinions on homosexuality and ignoring Obama’s efforts to deny Americans’ freedom of religion, the MSNBC anchor accused Santorum of being a totalitarian along the lines of Stalin and Big Brother.
Bashir suggested Santorum was acting like a theocrat and like Orwell’s Big Brother in 1984 by opposing the president’s Obamacare initiatives. Ironically, Bashir had earlier warned Newt Gingrich to stop using hateful language “before someone gets killed.”
Talk about hateful!
Sorry, Martin, if anyone is acting like a totalitarian despot and being hateful, it’s President Obama who has shown as total contempt for our Constitution and nation as you do. Pakistan International Airlines has daily flights to Islamabad. Consider hopping one.
No stranger to bizarre views and statements, Nancy Pelosi has expressed similarly peculiar sentiments concerning everything from the legislative process to ousted Obama “green czar,” Van Jones, and to the anarchistic Occupy movement. . .

Newt
Newt
Former Republican Speaker of the House Newton Leroy Gingrich lugs around almost as much baggage as a former candidate for the presidency lugged around before he won that office in 1992.
The chief difference between Gingrich and William Jefferson Blythe Clinton is that the former’s dirty linens will probably deny him the Republican nomination in 2012 and the latter’s less-fastidious Democrats elected him twice.
Both developments are damned shames.
Despite Democrat claims to be the Party of the People, which may have been true when they were led by FDR and the people were desperate and later involved in a war FDR manipulated, since at least 1964 the GOP has better reflected the dominant sentiment of Americans in all matters save failed social experiments.
Over the years, muddled-thinking wags have suggested that the best of all political worlds would see a Democrat in charge of domestic policy and a Republican conducting foreign affairs. Aside from the unconstitutionality of such a scenario, the country would be bankrupted by Democrats and so destitute we would be unable to function beyond our borders.
However, none of that speculation is relevant to a Newt Gingrich presidency since Republicans are more inclined to lose than to hold their noses and vote for a guy who isn’t perfect.
Newt is anything but perfect from a conservative point of view or from any other point of view, although he is nowhere near the insensitive ogre, the grinch the mainstream media has painted him . . .

Attempted Media Murder
Attempted Media Murder
You’re known as much by the enemies you keep as you are by your friends.
America’s liberal mainstream media, long accustomed to virtually absolute dominance of both print and the airwaves, was initially unperturbed when Rush Limbaugh arrived on the scene in 1984 and it ho-hummed the inauguration of the Fox News Channel on cable barely 14 years ago since it had a steel grip on what ideas and news were disseminated for public consumption.
No more.
Since Limbaugh’s amazing success and the growth of conservative talk radio in general and, especially since Fox has galloped so far ahead of CNN, MSNBC and other leftist cable channels that the MSM can barely see its haunches in the distance, mainstreamers have grown, in turn, wary, concerned and recently apoplectic over the loss of its previous monopolistic control over what people hear, see, and think.
Of course, they still have a lock on televised news via ABC, CBS, and NBC and public radio with NPR but those networks are in rapid decline much like the New York Times. Unlike the Times, they may survive as minimalist news sources with their little niche of viewers who don’t have or want cable and listeners who prefer to be force-fed pap by NPR.
However, leftwingers aren’t about to surrender to Fox, yet.
In fact, at least one influential member of that media has now declared war, an all-out campaign of “guerrilla warfare and sabotage” against the Fox News Network which has morphed into an enemy rather than a competitor. Even worse, it’s an alleged arm of the Republican Party and that can no longer be tolerated nor will contentions the Democrats have owned the MSM for decades.
You’re known by the enemies you keep. You also know those enemies are being driven frantic by your success and influence when they declare all-out war. . .

Tracy Morgan and the Hypocrisy of the Ignorant Left
Tracy Morgan and the Hypocrisy of the Ignorant Left
. . . Not only was the “comedian” not rebuked or censored for his witticism by the “NBA on TNT” commentators, among whom was NBA great, Charles Barkley, made on a sports show yet, but the liberal National Organization for Women has uttered nary a peep about Morgan snidely reducing a woman to a sick, sex object.
Nor has the NOW crowd peeped even after Morgan reinforced his sexual slur by adding, “the glasses and all of that . . . great masturbation material,” which evoked rollicking guffaws at his crude one-liner from Barkley and his buddies.
I re-posted the article on various websites and received the following verbatim critique:
“SharonH wrote, in response to Gene Lalor:
people ‘attack’ her (as you say) because she is ignorant!!!! Tracy Morgan is apparently ignorant as well, but you are not going to convince people to vote for Palin because some liberals are stupid. . . There is enough of that to go around for sure. . . but Palin can’t be your candidate, no matter how much you want it.
Link to comment: http://disq.us/zvej7“
It was a curious response, to say the least, curious for various reasons among which is that I wasn’t trying “to convince people to vote for Palin because some liberals are stupid” or “ignorant.” I was simply trying to demonstrate the depths to which liberals stoop to denigrate her. Secondly, Palin is not my candidate and hasn’t declared her candidacy for any office, anyway.
Presumed and obviously very angry liberal “SharonH” did lead me to wonder why a liberal would defensively assume I felt those on the Left were either stupid or ignorant. After a little research, I came to understand “SharonH’s” defensiveness and I can now conclude that libs are both stupid and ignorant. They may have more advanced degrees than the average conservative in flyover country which does not mean they are smarter; it just means they go to school more.
Witness the article on the ultra-liberal Slate.com referring to Morgan’s masturbation observation titled, “Tracy Morgan: Loose Cannon Hero.” It leads with, “The comic’s latest riff on Sarah Palin sparked outrage–but it’s what makes him great. . .

Newsday, the Non-News "Newspaper"
Newsday, the Non-News "Newspaper"
I don’t read a real daily newspaper. I have to read Newsday.
Ever since the old Long Island Press bit the dust and followed the lead of New York City dailies, the Journal-American, the Daily Mirror, the Herald Tribune, et al. and succumbed to corporate mismanagement and exorbitant union demands, all we Long Islanders have left is the pseudo-newspaper, Newsday.
It’s a sad state of affairs, I tell ya!
I had high hopes for that liberal rag after its circulation department was caught with very liberally, illegally, inflating its readership numbers and then after conservative multi-billionaire Charles F. Dolan of Cablevision bought the paper in 2008 for $650 million. Sadly, Charlie chose to let things ride at Newsday where editorial content is barely distinguishable from news articles.
Not that he cares or will even notice but I hope Dolan loses his shirt on this misadventure.
Fortunately, Newsday does provide some redeeming, entertaining features, a few of which have appeared in its “news” pages over the last week.
The New York Times may still purport to print “all the news that’s fit to print,” or all the news that fits, or something like that. Newsday does that motto a few better by printing all the news that meshes with its liberal agenda even if it’s rumor or blatant lies.
Wait! The Times does that as well!
In any event, this past week’s Newsday inane installments included Friday’s article, “Secondhand Smoke’s Deadly Toll,” a piece on the 3,000 who die daily in Africa from malaria.
The secondhand smoke article is based on a report in Great Britain’s medical journal, Lancet in which Scottish “experts” contend that secondhand smoke causes 379,000 deaths from hear disease, 165,000 deaths from lower respiratory disease, 36,900 from asthma, and 21,940 deaths from lung cancer. As an added bonus, Lancet throws in the “fact” that 281,000 women and 265,000 children worldwide die annually due to secondhand smoke.
Some, all, or none of that may be true. . .

The Brainlessness of Jon Stewart and Rachel Maddow
The Brainlessness of Jon Stewart and Rachel Maddow
“Show me a young Conservative and I’ll show you someone with no heart. Show me an old Liberal and I’ll show you someone with no brains.“
That sage observation credited to Winston Churchill holds more truth today in American political circles than it did when he originally uttered it and when its originators, Francois Guisot and, later, Georges Clemenceau, wrote it.
Young, conservative thinkers tend to be perceived as lacking compassion because they strive to have people think and act for themselves rather than relying on government and others to think and act for them. Old liberals, on the other hand, are so trapped in their rigid ideology that they are often perceived as incapable of functioning independently of that ideology.
I’ve been a liberal, back in the days of JFK when liberals, though deluded, were still on the American side and back before I grew up. The experience of evolving into a conservative is closely related to St. Paul’s thought in the First Epistle to the Corinthians: “When I was a child, I spoke as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child. But, when I became a man, I put away the things of a child.”
Liberals are both childish in their naïveté and brain-dead in their failure to recognize humanity’s true capacity and vision. Perhaps best epitomizing those qualities are two ultra-liberal television personalities, Jon Stewart and Rachel Maddow.
Comedy Central’s Stewart paid a visit to MSNBC’s Maddow on Thursday night, what had to be tantamount to a homecoming for Stewart, one Jewish lib paying call on another on different but similar liberal turf.
Asked if he thought his “Daily Show” functions only as entertainment, Stewart responded, “I feel more of a kinship to Jerry Seinfeld, than I do to what you guys do or to what, you know, CNN does or what NBC does.” He meant that he sees what he does as political and social satire rather than serious news, far more in the mold of the Smothers Brothers and Bill Maher than of Maddow, CNN, NBC and the other MSM.
That was a revelation to Maddow . . .

MSNBC, Ethics, and Keith Olbermann?
MSNBC, Ethics, and Keith Olbermann?
It takes a hell of a lot for MSNBC, the cable news station of NBC established in partnership with Microsoft, to suspend someone for violating its ethics policy. It’s a challenge to try to determine whether MSNBC, dubbed PMSNBC by Rush Limbaugh, has any ethics at all considering its programming and commentators.
As the left’s response to Fox News, MSNBC has been beyond lame. As the left’s entry into the ethics sweepstakes, MSNBC finished as an also-ran.
However, someone has been suspended, indefinitely and without pay, for violating that vague policy. None other than Keith Olbermann, former sports maven and now former political pundit in MSNBC’s 8 pm slot, the man who proved that one host was able to sink a cable network almost single-handedly, has, possibly, been handed his pink slip.
Actually, that’s hyperbolic since Olbermann had a lot of help in that regard from such people as the raving, leftist lesbian, Rachel Maddow. As of today, though, Rachel is still in and Keith’s “Countdown with Keith Olbermann” is being counted out. It remains to be seen if Maddow survives longer than MSNBC. . .

The Quiet Desperation of the MSM
“The mass of men lead lives of quiet desperation,” wrote Tennessee Williams, and well he should know. There’s a lot of desperation out there, both quiet and noisy, but all the sufferers aren’t men.
One very desperate group in America is the mainstream media, particularly the print media which is rapidly being supplanted by the Internet for people to get news, information, entertainment.
Thus we see the “old grey lady,” the New York Times, gradually, inexorably being reduced to an old grey bag lady as its readership declines by the day.
Pretty soon the only people reading it will be the Sulzbergers and their coterie of leftist sycophants.
Barring a federal bailout of the Times and other national lib media, which has been suggested and is not beyond possibility, that newspaper should be gone in a generation or less.
Its disappearance will be all very fitting and proper since it has long abused its position as the only non-taboid in New York City since the Herald Tribune bit the dust in 1967.
With a newspaper monopoly and in contradistinction to its motto, the Times has for years been printing all the news that fit its “progressive” philosophy rather than all the news that’s fit to print.
Another specially sweet instance of journalistic poetic justice is the plight of New York’s Newsday.
Long the only show in town . . .
