AOL Nitwits

AOL Nitwits

According to AOL, he’s a “financier and democracy advocate” who “has funded projects to support freedom of expression, democracy, public health and human rights around the world,” who is “famous for donating to liberal causes.”

Sounds like a pretty reputable and generous liberal guy, no? Who could badmouth such a terrific individual but some twisted conservative with a vicious, mindlessness out to smear all liberal advocates of free expression, democratic ideals, the health of the public, and the rights of human beings?

And who is the most twisted sick conservative out there–after Rush Limbaugh–but that weepy Glenn Beck?

And who is that eminently admirable and upright lib being slandered and slammed by Beck now? None other than George Soros, born György Schwartz, the eminently admirable one who is on record as saying, among other equally admirable things as, “The war on terror cannot be won,” the U.S. “is the main obstacle to a stable and just world,” American troops are “perpetrators” and “oppressors” and this winner, “The war on drugs is doing more harm to our society than drug abuse itself.”

And those are just György Schwartz’s/George Soros’ reflections on America. Examples of his other bizarre thoughts and dubious exploits are legion. . .

The Numbers Game and Glenn Beck's Restoring Honor Rally

The Numbers Game and Glenn Beck's Restoring Honor Rally

The results are in on Saturday’s Restoring Honor rally in Washington and the news isn’t good for the news media.

The MSM seem to become arithmetically-challenged when it comes to counting heads at conservative gatherings or, dare I suggest, once again biased against reporting the truth at those get-togethers for the purpose of slanting their reporting.

It happened just over a year ago at the 2009 “9/12 Project’s” March on Washington organized by former Repubican Rep. Dick Armey, the Freedom Works Foundation, and Glenn Beck which drew upwards of a million participants to D.C. The mainstream media reported that thousands and upwards of 100,000 were in attendance.

Now, that’s a highly significant undercount especially since hundreds of pictures clearly revealed that the crowds were far more massive than “thousands” or even a paltry hundred thousand.

Why the liberal mainstream media feel compelled to lie and distort attendance numbers, inflating liberal rally figures and deflating conservative turn-outs, is no mystery.

That compulsion and that distortion are rooted in a deep-seated insecurity as to the honesty and validity of their leftist beliefs but, even worse, they reflect a contempt for the integrity of their journalistic profession and a total disregard for their ethical responsibilities.

It happened again at the Beck non-partisan Restoring Honor rally last Saturday which by happenstance took place on the 47th anniversary of Martin Luther King’s memorable “I Have a Dream” speech and at the same venue of that address, the Lincoln Memorial.

CBS estimated the crowd at 83,000, ABC at “more than 100,000,” NBC said, “tens, perhaps hundreds of thousands, the Associated Press described a ”sea of people standing shoulder to shoulder” as a crowd numbering “tens of thousands.” Beck and special guest Sarah Palin guessed anywhere from 300,000 to 600,000 and Rep. Michelle Bachman a cool million: http://tiny.cc/zthma

Observations on . . . "I Have a Dream"

Observations on "I Have a Dream"

Forty seven years ago, on August 28th, 1963, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. delivered what must stand as one of the most quoted speeches in American history and one of the most important speeches of the twentieth century.

Tens of thousands remembered and commemorated that address on Saturday with a “Re-claim the Dream” march led by the Reverend Al Sharpton which ended near the location of the 1963 rally.

Now commonly called the “I Have a Dream” speech, its most memorable and most quoted line, ”I have a dream that my four children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character,” is also its saddest line.

King’s successors may frequently recite the words but have lost sense of their meaning and spirit.

(Fortunately forgotten was a subsequent line that reflected a Freudian slip of a dream added after King departed from his prepared text, ”Let freedom ring from the curvaceous peaks of California!” The FreeOnlineDictionary defines “curvaceous” as “[of a woman’s body] having a large bosom and pleasing curves; [as in] ”Hollywood seems full of curvaceous bondes;” “a curvy young woman in a tight dress,” which surely Dr. King did not mean at all.)

King’s stirring 10-minute address was delivered before a massive crowd of civil rights supporters estimated at some 200,000, and delivered, appropriately, it was believed at the time, on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial as part of the March on Washington for Jobs and Freedom.

Glenn Beck and the Monster Mosque at Ground Zero

Glenn Beck and the Monster Mosque at Ground Zero

I recently heard Glenn Beck defend the building of that Islamic Monster Mosque, that Mega-Mosque at the site of the former World Trade Center in downtown New York City.

His defense of that project is predicated on his conviction that no government in our democratic republic should have the right to prohibit any religious entity in America from building a church, temple, or mosque nor to prohibit the free exercise of any religion anywhere on our soil: http://tiny.cc/vvm19

Beck was defending the First Amendment to the Constitution which reads, “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.”

The left has twisted the meaning and intent of the ”establishment clause” for years now and the Supreme Court has concurred that it means a strict separation of church and state even though those words never appear in the Constitution and in spite of the essential Christian religiousness of the Founding Fathers.

That brings us back to Glenn Beck and his defense of the planned Monster Mosque within spitting distance of the remains of the WTC. Not coincidentally, the 13-story ”Cordoba House” is scheduled to open on Park Place on the tenth anniversary of the 9/11 attacks, September 11th, 2011.

Glenn Beck and "Social Justice"

Glenn Beck and "Social Justice"

Poor Glenn Beck is in hot water again and it is really Beck and not that frog he didn’t really boil a few weeks ago.

This time the Fox News commentator who, as great a conservative/libertarian/anti-progressive as he is, once again ran his mouth before fully engaging his brain on the issue of social justice and churches.

Beck touched on the problem of social justice which is not an issue involving justice for everyone in society. Beck viewed the term as a buzzword for priests, ministers, rabbis who want to effect a Communist or Nazi version of social justice.

That’s way over the top but, in Beck’s defense, it really involves misinterpreted definitions.

Take the words separately.

“Social” refers to society and everyone in that society. That would include the rich, poor, and everyone in between. “Justice” refers to fairmindedness, equity.

Combined, however, the term “social justice” takes on a whole new meaning in contemporary jargon, a meaning many on the Left interpret as sharing the wealth, as Obama said during the campaign, or wholesale re-distribution of America’s wealth, taking from the rich to share with the poor.

Obama’s favorite community activist organization, the almost-defunct ACORN, . . .

A Christmas Miscellany

A Christmas Miscellany

There’s so much important news swirling about, it’s a challenge to try to separate the wheat from the chaff.

Obvious and irrelevant chaff is Chelsea’s engagement to the son of another criminal, the White House party crashers, John Gotti beating another rap, Tiger Woods and his various “transgressions,” and just about anything President Obama says.

However, there are significant things happening, even if they sometimes get lost in the news shuffle, and some relate to the Christmas season that is upon us:

. The Chrismas Comeback: After too many years of listening to the humbuggers’ relentless campaign to ban Christmas in favor of the generic Holidays, at least some retailers have gotten the message that, “Yes, Virginia, this IS a Christian country,” despite Barack Hussein’s protestations to the contrary.

Since before its inception, this Christian country has celebrated Christmas, not the winter solstice and, thanks to the silent majority finally rising up and advising Christmas pofiteers of that fact, Wal-mart, K-mart and Sears, among others have wakened up to smell the holly.

Glenn Beck, Leftist Prey

Glenn Beck, Leftist Prey

Dave Letterman likes to spread out his venom.

His tiresome, vengeful attacks on Sarah Palin, his defense against her reaction to his calling her and her daughter virtual sluts and a reflection of his cockiness after skating through his own sex scandals, were getting old and his writers were getting stale in their digs.

They were rescued by the publication of her best seller, Going Rogue, which at once became an ancillary target with Letterman’s brief nightly skit, “Things Better than Reading Sarah Palin’s Book.”

Those film attacks show cars crashing into trees, having one’s head explode in a microvave, and other inane, tasteless disasters as preferable to reading Palin’s book.

They’re getting old as well so last night’s “Top 10″ list on Obama’s interview on FNC branched out by attacking another conservative subject: Coming in at Number One was, “Agreeing that Glenn Beck is a dump.”

Not much better can be expected from crass, dirty Dave and his foul abuse of Beck was not unanticipated given the obsession liberals have with destroying him.

Still, it reinforces an interesting phenomenon, namely that when conservatives becomes too threatening, Leftists like Letterman and others go into spasms in their efforts to bring them down into their own muck and mire.

Mrs. Palin, with her incredible popularity and crowd appeal still tops the Leftist Attack Charts. However, Glenn Beck has gotten way up in their craws, too.

Polls showing Beck’s topping Larry King, Anderson Cooper, Keith Olberman, and Chris Matthews’ combined scores just may be playing a factor in the Left’s angst and venom.

Dirty Dave’s lies and insinuations about Palin–he dare not abuse her daughters again– . . .

Ironies

Our topsy-turvy, ass-backward world is jam-packed with ironies of every possible stripe. Some ironic situations are sad, some comical, and some just plain infuriating.

In the comical category, James Carville saying that Glenn Beck is “Just out-and-out nuts. And I also think that he’s a blatant hypocrite” has to be awarded the funny irony cake of the week.

Talk about the pot calling the kettle black! Jim Carville, the snake-like, ragin’ cajun conservative Mary Matalin must have married when she had a snootful or when suffering temporary insanity, is the epitome’ of nuts.

Watch Mary cringe at hubby Jim’s nutty remark here: http://bit.ly/2u0m53.

If Carville isn’t nuts for sucking up to the Clintons for 8 years and for repeatedly defending their tenure and record on national television, then no one is crazy, least of all, Glenn Beck.

The trash-talking fruitcake Carville is best remembered for covering his head with a garbage can in dismay over the 2002 election results

The fast-talking Beck will long be remembered for garnering 6 million + regular listeners on his radio show and having two, not just one, books on the best seller list at the same time.

Finishing first in the infuriating, situational irony sweepstakes is an incident on the Staten Island Ferry.

War veteran Dan Bergen bravely served in both Iraq and Afghanistan in a United States Navy special warfare unit then came home to a job as deckhand on one of the ferries that plies the waters between the New York City boroughs of Manhattan and Staten Island

The newlywed Bergen, age 32, suffers from an odd, patriotic quirk: He reveres the American flag for which he fought and he firmly believes in assiduously respecting the flag wherever it flies.

In this age when flag-burning is an accepted social activity, Bergen contends proper flag etiquette is more than a traditional technicality and that the flag is “a living being.”

He therefore refused to lower Old Glory . . .

The Persecution of Glenn Beck, Conservative--Part Two

Glenn Beck has led an interesting, tumultuous life to date and will no doubt have interesting tumult over his remaining years. Unfortunately for the left wingers in this country, he’s only 45 so he should be around to confound lefties for many years.

Please God!

Like Rush Limbaugh, Beck started out as a DJ, moved around a lot until he found his niche as a wildly popular radio political/social commentator at WFLA in Tampa in 2000.

Syndicated by 2002, it was then he may have caught the leftist ear. The left was definitely paying attention by 2008 when Beck’s show ranked 4th in the country with 6 1/2 million regular listeners. Glenn was sitting in the catbird seat.

While continuing his nationally sydicated radio program, he moved on to his own successful CNN show, spots on ABC, and last January hooked up with Fox News.

Truly in his element now, with 5 best selling books under his belt, Beck had reached stardom and capitalized on that status by organizing The 9/12 Project and the Taxpayer March on Washington last Saturday. . .

The Persecution of Glenn Beck, Conservative: Part I

I must be an ignoramus. Many people would comment, “Well, isn’t that obvious?”

I don’t really think it is that obvious since I usually try to deftly conceal my duncehood but I do admit to being ignorant about Glenn Beck until a few years ago.

I was acquainted with his name in, of all places, an AOL political chat room when a leftist impolitely and derogatively told me I could shove my views where the sun don’t shine, where “Limbaugh, Hannity, and Beck hide.” The leftist didn’t use the sun metaphor but you get the point.

I got the point that I should find out more about this Beck guy. After all, if he aroused such bile and venom in a lefty, America-hating bed wetter, he just had to be my kind of guy.

Hold off, gay boys, I don’t mean my kind of guy in your sense.

I discovered a great deal about this perceived conservative devil, this Glenn Beck originally from the state of Washington, of his family background which included suicides, his own addictions, his own dealings with the dark side of life, his eventual conversion to Mormonism.

Other details of his life are available all over the internet so I won’t bore the reader with them. Suffice to say, Beck evolved into a conservative, libertarian talk show host and Fox News commentator, prima facie evidence that he was a nutcase. . .

Obama Hates White People and Wants Them to Die!

Obama Hates White People and Wants Them to Die!

The title of this article was borrowed, slightly altered, from what liberals were saying about President George W. Bush shortly after Katrina all but obliterated New Orleans.

Inspired by the words of Kanye West, they accused Bush and FEMA of hating black people and wanting them to die because they didn’t work a miracle in 2005.

Conservative radio talk show host and TV commentor Glenn Beck didn’t quite say that President Obama hates white people and wants them to die, although he may as well have based on the caterwauling of late.

What Beck definitely didn’t say was that Obama should commit suicide on air, a suggestion made for Beck by an illiberal. Reminiscent of the witticism enjoyed by the president that Rush Limbaugh should die of kidney failure, hear it here: http://bit.ly/18Pfje.

Glenn Beck is my kinda guy.

He speaks whereof he thinks and he thinks whereof he speaks.

When a guy thinks and speaks from a rightist viewpoint, he has to expect flak from the leftist ilk who infest the media.

Still, Beck is now being assailed with far more leftist bricks and brickbats than is customary.

They’re not literal bricks and brickbats as yet only because his liberal attackers lack the gonads to engage in physical combat but, if they could, his assailants would hit him with all they’ve got, including their purses, leaded boas, and rock-filled jock straps. . .
