Trayvon and Crystal Mangum

Trayvon and Crystal Mangum

“Trayvon and Tawana,” (http://bit.ly/HskbLq), drew a number of parallels between the shooting of Trayvon Martin and the 1987 racial hoax perpetrated by Tawana Brawley and aided and abetted by career African-American agitator, Rev. Al Sharpton.

Just as Martin’s shooting by George Zimmerman has created a firestorm of protests against assumed racist profiling and bigotry, Brawley’s case was accompanied by the involvement of Sharpton and others of his ilk seeking publicity and an unquenchable thirst for racial unrest.

Just as with Trayvon Martin, the bases of Brawley’s claims were false, a tissue of lies that unraveled under official scrutiny.

Both Tawana Brawley’s inflammatory and destructively false accusations and those of Crystal Mangum provided templates for the never-ending campaign to tar white Americans as hateful bigots in the face of facts that prove the exact reverse.

Crystal Gail Mangum, an enterprising, black 27 year old student at North Carolina Central University, helped pay the bills by working as an “escort” and stripper for her pimps at the Allure Escort Service.

Long, seamy story short: Mangum was hired by members of the Duke University lacrosse team to “perform” for them at their off-campus residence for $800. She showed up gloriously drunk, and engaged in 5 minutes of lesbian groping with another “escort,” an Asian-American named Kim Roberts.

Mangum proceeded to exchange words with the team, exited in a huff, stormed around the house shouting and half-naked before driving off into the night with her associate whom she soon tried to kick out of the car, and was subsequently taken into custody by Durham, N.C. police.

Actually, that wasn’t the end of the story. It was more the beginning of a misbegotten tale of fantasy rape, manufactured deceit, and baseless charges of racism and violence, all of which were later disproven.

It was also the disgraceful tale of a district attorney who lied repeatedly and a prestigious university that opted to believe a prostitute rather than its own students in the interests of political correctness. . .

When Is Racism not Racism?

When Is Racism not Racism?

The answer to the title question of when racism is not racism is as transparent as the Obama administration is opaque: When the MSM or officials don’t want it to be.

Racism is almost always deemed racism when it involves perceived or actual attacks by whites against blacks yet rarely described as such when blacks physically and verbally abuse whites. Examples of the both social anomalies abound with the former getting by far the most media attention and the latter being mostly ignored.

For example, when the “Reverends” Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton display their keen awareness of white racism in virtually everything they disagree with, the MSM reports those perceptions sans comment as if they were biblical truth.

However, when Sen. Charles Grassley proposed making habitual drunk driving a deportable offense for aliens, it was interpreted as racist designed to discriminate against illegals such as President Obama’s drunken Uncle Omar.

When I posted an article titled, “Wisdom from the FLOTUS” examining Michelle Obama’s background, positions, and statements, a commenter strongly defended our First Lady and felt obliged to conclude in his defense, “I think racism is at least a possibility.” (http://bit.ly/wprRoO)

White racism always seems, at the minimum, “a possibility” when whites are accused of assaulting or even offering objective critiques of African-Americans. Black racism is virtually never considered when blacks attack whites, a fact of American life substantiated by the renowned African-American economics professor and poltical commentator, Walter E. Williams.

In an especially honest assessment of the state of racial justice in America today, Prof. Williams said, “In many of these brutal attacks, the news media make no mention of the race of the perpetrators. If it were white racist gangs randomly attacking blacks, the mainstream media would have no hesitation reporting the race of the perps.”

Truer words were never spoken as are the words spoken by Chicago Tribune Gerould Kern who conceded that “Editors for the Los Angeles Times, The New York Times and the Chicago Tribune . . . deliberately censored information about black crime for political reasons. . . to ‘guard against subjecting an entire group of people to suspicion.’ ” (http://bit.ly/mtX5AM)

Foolish me! I always thought the mission of the news media, the very basis for its existence, was to report the news fairly and objectively, not to pick and choose what and how to report predicated on “political reasons,” i.e., what is PC.

Now, granted, the American news media has always had a slant from colonial times through the twenty-first century.

Today, the Washington Times and Fox News lean toward the right, the conservative viewpoint, while the vast majority of news outlets, from the Washington Post to the New York Times to the L.A. Times to CNN to MSNBC report with a liberal slant often so distorted that it’s difficult to distinguish news from editorials.

Those distortions are especially noteworthy with regard to racial attacks, as Walter E. Williams pointed out and as Gerould Kern verified. Two recent events illustrate that reality. . . (Read more at http://www.genelalor.com/blog1/?p=12582.)

The Race Card, the Race Pot, and the Race for the Presidency

The Race Card, the Race Pot, and the Race for the Presidency

Many millions of Americans assumed the race issue in this country was finally behind us after the election of the nation’s first black president in 2008.

After all, Barack Hussein Obama suggested as much, voters had expiated their baseless white guilt over slavery by voting for a black man, and African-Americans were elated over their achievement in nominating and electing, as my Irish mother would say, “one of their own.”

It was widely hoped that America had entered a new era of racial harmony with Obama’s inauguration.

Guess what? We didn’t and, in fact, race relations are far worse now than they had been in many decades and for a very good reason: The Obamas themselves continue to stir the race pot in order to keep it boiling through November and beyond.

Stirring, stirring, stirring.

Instead of attempting to fulfill his pledge to minimize the differences between people, to emphasize that the content of one’s character and not the color of one’s skin is what matters most, the president accents our differences by playing the always-electorally-potent race card.

What matters most to Obama is getting re-elected at any cost.

As he said last week at a D.C. fundraiser, “The very core of what this country stands for is on the line–the basic promise that no matter what you look like, no matter where you come from, this is a place where you could make it if you try.”

That idea of appearances over substance reiterated what Obama said to Latinos in October: “I believe America should be a place where you can always make it if you try; a place where every child, no matter what they look like, where they come from, should have a chance to succeed.”

No slouch when it comes to racial pot-stirring, the not “angry black woman” Michelle Obama asked a rhetorical question at yet another fundraiser: ”Will we give every child–every child–a chance to succeed, no matter where she’s from, or what she looks like?” (http://bit.ly/xyk6Up)

Could the theme of what we “look like” be code for race? Do bears defecate in the woods?

Regardless of where bears do their business, race agitator Rev. Al Sharpton now does his on MSNBC and never misses a chance to stir the pot, toss some incendiary racial ingredient into it, or make certain one of his talk show guests does.

South Carolina Democrat Party Chairman Dick Harpootlian served that function in a discussion on the election in which Harpootlian managed to link Monday’s Republican debate in South Carolina with racism, states’ rights, Martin Luther King, Abraham Lincoln, and the election of 1860–all within less than two minutes.

Harpootlian demonstrated his short memory by forgetting his Democrats debated on MLK Day 20008 and the dearth of his historical expertise when he said Lincoln signed the Emancipation Declaration in 1860–when the Civil War hadn’t even begun. Sharpton and his fellow black commentator Melissa Harris-Perry took it from there and lambasted Republicans for virtually desecrating MLK Day by debating as evidence of their innate racism. . .

Nigger Babies, Tar Babies, and Boys

Nigger Babies, Tar Babies, and Boys

I’m almost ashamed to admit it but when we were kids we’d go to the local movie emporium and plop down a quarter–16 cents in sleazier South Bronx theatrical emporia–head for the candy counter, and buy some goodies which today would be considered racist.

I’m almost ashamed not because of my impoverished background which I overcame, thank you very much, but because some of us urchins purchased, along with dry popcorn and a flat soda if we were really flush with nickels, and without the slightest reflection, “nigger babies,” bought and sold under that name at the counter.

They were small, chocolatey, licorice candies the Urban Dictionary describes as “made from a humanoid-shaped mold that gave the treats their baby-like appearance” and goes on to misrepresent the treats.

The Urban Dictionary explains, “Typically sold in bulk for a penny-a-piece, they were renamed ‘Chocolate Babies’ in the 1960s and were eventually sold in a box,” a misleading description because they were being sold in boxes as early as the early fifties.

“Nigger babies” weren’t a big favorite except among licorice aficionados and most fifties kids would never have laid out a precious penny for “nigger babies” in bulk or otherwise even in the sleaziest of movie houses and under the best of circumstances.

In retrospect, they were very inappropriately-named confections even if we only bought them occasionally, the equivalent of vanilla “honky babies” which were never produced as far as I know.

In any event, the N-word has been banished from the English language–except in rap lyrics. The white epithets “honky” and “cracker” are still in wide, contemporary usage, testimony to selective, racial sensitivities which even extend to the innocuous word “niggardly,” an adverb judged abhorrent since it sounds bad.

All this candy reminiscence relates to new, hyperactive sensitivities involving two equally-benign terms in the news lately: “tar babies” and “boy.” Their usage doesn’t quite carry the social stigma of “nigger babies” but they do cause some people to overreact and infer slurs and racial stereotypes where none exist.

“Tar babies” and “boy” may both some day enter the politically incorrect, verboten pantheon along with such literary classics as Huckleberry Finn and Uncle Remus after the PC police succeed in banning them, although banishing the word “boy” and every writing in which it appears would be a monumental challenge.

It comes down to how influential black agitators become. . .

Someone Is Killing Blacks!

Someone Is killing Blacks!

The Reverend Al Sharpton went on a tear last winter over a giant New York City billboard featuring an innocent, young black girl and the caption, “The Most Dangerous Place for an African-American Is in the Womb.” When he sees a new video on the same subject, he’s liable to go into uncontrollable paroxysms that could shock him into getting a real job!

In March, he succeeded in having the billboard removed.

It had been strategically situated in NYC’s posh Soho District near a Planned Parenthood facility that boasts of aborting 19,000 pre-born babies in 2010 and offended the Reverend Al not only because of its location and message but due to the harm it could potentially cause to his supporters. He contended it was ”an offensive and condescending effort to stigmatize and shame African-American women while attempting to discredit the work of Planned Parenthood.”

Even worse, it sent ”a message of racial profiling and discourages a woman’s right to choose.”

A lone billboard of a pretty, little African-American apparently can evidently have an amazing number of deleterious effects on Al, Planned Parenthood, and black women.

See “Race, Abortion, and Al Sharpton,” http://bit.ly/qBwFhY, and “Billboards and Al Sharpton’s Black Genocide,” http://bit.ly/h01UGV, for more details on that genocide and Planned Parenthood’s facilitation of it.

Wishful thinking would suggest the new video, titled “The Number One Killer,” would shut Sharpton up at least for while . . .

Obama's Buddies: Johns, Screwballs, and Sharptons

Obama's Buddies: Johns, Screwballs, and Sharptons

They say it’s lonely at the top but President Barack Hussein Obama has some buddies to relieve any loneliness he may suffer, although some of those buds aren’t necessarily plusses for someone who just announced he plans to run for re-election.

For example, he may not want to trot out Robert Richard “Bobby” Titcomb of Waialua, Hawaii, a golfing buddy, to campaign for him next year especially if he expects to get any votes at all from Christian conservatives who tend to frown on the solicitation of prostitutes.

Titcomb, an old school chum of Obama’s from his days at the Punahow School in the Aloha State, was arrested Monday in Kakaako in a Honolulu P.D. sting operation aimed at nabbing johns. Charged and released after posting a $500 bond, he can get up to 30 days in the slammer if convicted: http://bit.ly/fl08S3

That shouldn’t throw any wrenches into Obama’s next golfing excursion/vacation since Titcomb should be out by then and he could also show the president around the seedy nightlife of Kakaako. However, buddy or no, Titcomb wouldn’t impress the moral majority.

Not known as much of a golfer anymore than is Obama, the Reverend Louis “Calypso Louie” Farrakhan, Grand Poohbah of the Nation of Islam, is not exactly a Barack intimate but he is another FOB, Friend of Barack, who wouldn’t contribute much to a campaign, either.

He can be classified with Obama’s old pastor of 20 years, Reverend Jeremiah “God Damn America” Wright who Obama kicked under the bus when he became an embarrassment.

Still, Farrakhan did address Barack as “brother” in a recent missive to the president of the United States in which he asked Obama, “Who the hell do you think you are?” for Obama’s failure to support the Libyan madman, Muammar Muhammad al-Gaddafi. “Brother,” like “Bro,” connotes a certain degree of intimacy, despite the insulting tone and impertinence of Farrakhan’s rhetorical query. (http://bit.ly/hgHBaC)

It seems the former Calypso Louie has at least one other soul brother, Muammar.

In a speech from the pulpit of Chicago’s Mosque Maryam, the Nation of Islam’s international headquarters, Farrakhan attacked Obama’s policy in Lybya as hypocritical. . .

Race, Abortion, and Al Sharpton

Race, Abortion, and Al Sharpton

A few weeks back, a New York City billboard depicting an innocent, young black girl and the caption, “The Most Dangerous Place for an African American Is in the Womb,” sent Al Sharpton and friends into racial spasms.

He threw around words such as offensive, condescending, racial profiling, stigmatizing, and shameful even though the billboard message was statistically true. Various studies have shown that 42%-60% of black babies in America are aborted annually but don’t confuse Sharpton with facts. He objected because it sought to ”discredit the work of Planned Parenthood” and “discourages a [black] woman’s right to choose:” http://bit.ly/h01UGV

As always, Al the Wordsmith was spot on.

The billboard was trying to discourage black girls and women from continuing to fulfill the black genocidal goals of the racist eugenecist Margaret Sanger, the founder and inspiration for Planned Parenthood. However, the billboard sponsor, ThatsAbortion.com, http://bit.ly/hlO4pC, doesn’t contribute to Sharpton’s various enterprises designed to keep Al from getting a real job.

Poor Al is liable to suffer more spasms over recent news.

Ariana Huffington’s HufPo’s less than objective headline, “Arizona Legislators Pass Paranoid Abortion Bill,” which bill in reality is simply aimed at preventing abortions based on the race or gender of the fetus, was rendered almost moot by an Associated Press report of even more widespread abortion paranoia. The AP reports that dozens of anti-abortion bills are advancing though state legislatures nationwide.

True to Sharpton form, the AP characterizes the measures as “an array of new obstacles–legal, financial and psychological–in the paths of women seeking abortions.”

The AP defines that array as “tactics” which vary and include the underhanded ploys on the parts of pro-life lawmakers to require “mandatory sonograms and anti-abortion counseling, sweeping limits on insurance coverage, bans on abortions after 20 weeks of pregnancy:” http://apne.ws/gJH7X0.

Imagine! Those dastardly pro-lifers want women and girls, black and white, to actually see what they’re killing. They want someone to sit down and discuss the termination of the lives of their pre-borns. They want them to pay for the executions. They want them not to murder their fully-formed, often viable fetuses.

How barbaric of them!

Compounding Big Al’s consternation over aborting black babies is yet another report exposing his favorite abortion mills’ and Margaret Sanger’s commitment to exterminating the black race . . .

Billboards and Al Sharpton's Black Genocide

Billboards and Al Sharpton's Black Genocide

Nothing riles the Reverend Alfred Charles “Al” Sharpton more than an attack on his people, you know, those people who who throw money his way and enable him to avoid doing an honest day’s work, unless you consider 24/7 racial agitating work. That is, nothing raises his hackles as much as hard truth.

Reverend Al got into a royal snit over a billboard erected in New York City’s posh SoHo district which depicted a pretty, young black girl under the caption, “THE MOST Dangerous Place For An African-American IS IN THE WOMB.”

Sponsored and paid for by the anti-abortion group, Life Always, and by ThatsAbortion.com, http://thatsabortion.com/, the billboard, situated half a mile from a Planned Parenthood abortion mill and erected in recognition of Black History Month, had a shelf/wall life of four days before threats by Reverend Al forced its removal.

It was deemed objectionable by Sharpton and his henchmen on the bases that it was ”an offensive and condescending effort to stigmatize and shame African-American women while attempting to discredit the work of Planned Parenthood” and “sends a message of racial profiling and discourages a woman’s right to choose.”

Offensive, condescending, stigmatizing, shameful, not to mention discrediting, profiling, and discouraging? The ironies could not be richer, the pathos no more sad. . .

Manipulated News from China and Al Sharpton

Manipulated News from China and Al Sharpton

When we used to think of “news,” we thought of contemporary developments that somehow could affect us, the country, our neighborhoods, etc. Lately, news has become far more manipulated, serving, as with the MSM, more as a vehicle for propagandizing than for the dissemination of actual information.

International “news” has long been that way, propagandistic, especially if it emanated from behind the late, unlamented Iron Curtain, Cuba, the People’s Republic of China, et al. None of that group have really changed much in presenting real news, they’ve just gotten a tad more subtle and they lie better than in the past.

Case in point is China which has just announced, via a “top diplomat,” that it ”does not want to ‘replace’ [sic] the United States from its dominant role in the world, and the world should not fear China’s rise.”

Said diplomat, Dai Bingguo, wrote in an essay carried on the Foreign Ministry’s website, which gave it an official imprimatur and which was lapped up by Reuters, “The notion that China wants to replace the United States and dominate the world is a myth. Politically, we . . . respect the social systems and development path of the different peoples of the world [and] economically, we wholeheartedly want to continue to develop. Militarily, we are not engaged in an arms race:” http://tiny.cc/k9rp8

Those statements are commendable, not for their truth and sincerity, but for the achievement of perpetrating four monumental, blatant lies within the span of three sentences!

No interest in supplanting the U.S. which China now virtually owns? No need for the world to fear China’s meteoric rise and its economic incursions into Africa and Latin America? Respect for the different peoples of the world even as China fails to show respect for its own people by forced abortions? No arms race while China engages in an unprecedented build-up of its land and air power while establishing the first modern navy in its history?

That was indeed a marvel of attempted news manipulation, Mr. Bingguo, who also threw in a veiled warning: “The international community should welcome and not fear China’s peaceful development, help it and not hinder it, support it and not hold it back.” But the world also needed to “understand and respect China’s reasonable interests and concerns.”

The next thing we may expect could be a demand that all peoples of the planet begin eating with chopsticks.

I don’t know if the Reverend Al Sharpton is adept at using chopsticks but he’s certainly marvellously skilled in distorting news events. IOwntheWorld.com featured a brief story and video clip of the Reverend Al in action.

Sharpton grants no quarter to the Chinese when it comes to news manipulation. . .

What's Wrong with These Pictures?

What's Wrong with These Pictures?

Racial segregation committed against white children: The black principal of Dicken Elementary School in Ann Arbor, Michigan had a wonderful idea for his school’s AA Lunch Bunch, a segregated, all-black group of students: He took them on a field trip to meet an African-American rocket scientist.

Upon returning to Dicken, Principal Mike Madison heard boos coming from the fifth graders who had been left behind. According to those students and their parents, Madison tore into the boo-ers, lecturing them on race issues and belittling a Muslim girl who complained about discrimination.

A district spokesman characterized the interplay with the other students as a “discussion” but admitted that Madison was “passionate about it.” In a letter to the community, the passionate principal admitted that “In hindsight, this field trip could have been approached and arranged in a better way:” http://tiny.cc/i2hbb . . .

News You May Have Missed, Or Wanted To

News You May Have Missed, or Wanted To
Rev. Al’s (Ex-)Wife and Daughter Arrested! It’s true, the Very Reverend Blowhard Al Sharpton’s former blushing bride, Kathy Jordan, 53, and their daughter, Dominique, 23, were arrested after running a red light in Harlem.

The NYPD doesn’t customarily incarcerate red-light violators, especially in Harlem, but this situation was unique.

According to the Houston Chronicle, Al was fuming and shocked, I tell you, over the incident, twittering in not just his usual twitter but on Twitter.

In high dudgeon he twitted, “I cannot imagine how two unarmed women with no record could be taken in cuffs from a traffic dispute with NO personal or property damage involved.”

Without literally invoking his usual charges of racism, he merely insinuated it: “Well this is what we deal with every day. We will never accept unfairness. (There was) no drugs or drinking at all.”

Now, the last thing NYC cops would want to do would be to offend Rev. Al and his constituency so one must suspect there was more to the matter that met the eye, including an exhibition of “blackitude,” that attitude expressed in oppressed indignation long synonymous with northern African-Americans.

After speeding though the light past a police car, the pair were cuffed and arrested for resisting arrest and after arguing over a traffic summons: http://bit.ly/1oZLKs

Although the Chronicle failed to report details as to the disposition of the charges or the argument content, the retort may very well have gone something like this: “Whatcha mean, yo racist, honkie, mutherf*cker? We be related to the mutherf*cking Al Sharpton and we has our own as president! Yo can jest shove that ticket!”

Let’s have a shout-out for the NYPD!

Pee-Wee Is Still Pee-Wee! On a note much lighter than Sharpton, that scamp Pee-Wee Herman, aka, Paul Reubens, has announced he is still the beloved Pee-Wee and that, after a 19 year absence, “he was bringing his brilliant Pee-Wee character back to the stage.”

His fans “went into a tizzy:”. . .
