The Race Card, the Race Pot, and the Race for the Presidency
Many millions of Americans assumed the race issue in this country was finally behind us after the election of the nation’s first black president in 2008.
After all, Barack Hussein Obama suggested as much, voters had expiated their baseless white guilt over slavery by voting for a black man, and African-Americans were elated over their achievement in nominating and electing, as my Irish mother would say, “one of their own.”
It was widely hoped that America had entered a new era of racial harmony with Obama’s inauguration.
Guess what? We didn’t and, in fact, race relations are far worse now than they had been in many decades and for a very good reason: The Obamas themselves continue to stir the race pot in order to keep it boiling through November and beyond.
Stirring, stirring, stirring.
Instead of attempting to fulfill his pledge to minimize the differences between people, to emphasize that the content of one’s character and not the color of one’s skin is what matters most, the president accents our differences by playing the always-electorally-potent race card.
What matters most to Obama is getting re-elected at any cost.
As he said last week at a D.C. fundraiser, “The very core of what this country stands for is on the line–the basic promise that no matter what you look like, no matter where you come from, this is a place where you could make it if you try.”
That idea of appearances over substance reiterated what Obama said to Latinos in October: “I believe America should be a place where you can always make it if you try; a place where every child, no matter what they look like, where they come from, should have a chance to succeed.”
No slouch when it comes to racial pot-stirring, the not “angry black woman” Michelle Obama asked a rhetorical question at yet another fundraiser: ”Will we give every child–every child–a chance to succeed, no matter where she’s from, or what she looks like?” (http://bit.ly/xyk6Up)
Could the theme of what we “look like” be code for race? Do bears defecate in the woods?
Regardless of where bears do their business, race agitator Rev. Al Sharpton now does his on MSNBC and never misses a chance to stir the pot, toss some incendiary racial ingredient into it, or make certain one of his talk show guests does.
South Carolina Democrat Party Chairman Dick Harpootlian served that function in a discussion on the election in which Harpootlian managed to link Monday’s Republican debate in South Carolina with racism, states’ rights, Martin Luther King, Abraham Lincoln, and the election of 1860–all within less than two minutes.
Harpootlian demonstrated his short memory by forgetting his Democrats debated on MLK Day 20008 and the dearth of his historical expertise when he said Lincoln signed the Emancipation Declaration in 1860–when the Civil War hadn’t even begun. Sharpton and his fellow black commentator Melissa Harris-Perry took it from there and lambasted Republicans for virtually desecrating MLK Day by debating as evidence of their innate racism. . .

Chicago, Chicago, It's a Fouled-up Town!
You may have been able “to lose the blues in Chicago” in Sinatra’s day but nowadays you’re just as likely to lose your life.
Our president hails from the Windy City–by way of New York, California, Hawaii, and some still say Kenya–as do many of his top advisers and Chicago is now ruled by the heavy hand of his former Chief of Staff, Rahm “Dead Fish” Emanuel. Coincidentally, neither Obama nor Emanuel is doing very well.
Known for its beef, mobsters, and dead people voting, the Chicago metropolitan area with almost 10 million residents and the city proper with almost 3 million were awarded the dubious title of “Murder Capital of America.” Its murder stats show Chicago triples the rate of New York City and they’re near the top in robberies and aggravated assaults.
As for rapes, no one knows since for some reason Chicago doesn’t keep track of those numbers. Too many to count, maybe, or maybe it’s not worth the bother.
All in all, Chicago isn’t just Sinatra’s “toddling town,” it’s a teetering town.
Interestingly, considering developments in the Big Apple’s Zuccotti Park and across the nation, a mere 10 years ago Barack Obama was busily supporting and addressing Chicago anti-war protests comparable in acrimony if not the unruliness of the Occupy Wall Streeters. Twenty years ago, he would have organized them, according to Stanley Kurtz.
Today, Chicagoland is witnessing a resurgence of similar civil protests which go far beyond the relatively peaceful Occupy Chicago demonstrations. Those protests stand in sharp contrast to their fellows in New York, Portland, and elsewhere where the crazies have taken over and anarchy prevails.
Chicago, on the other hand, is experiencing something almost worse, a breakdown of both civil and moral behavior, a total disregard for common decency, a foreboding of things to come resulting from Mayor Emanuel’s weak-kneed response to violence in his city and his former boss’ endorsement of un-civil OWSers.

It's Not Easy Being White Today
In 1963, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. delivered his justly-famous “I Have a Dream Speech” from the steps of the Lincoln Memorial in which he spoke the inspirational words, “I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character.”
Widely described as a defining moment in the Civil Rights movement, almost half a century later, America’s first (semi-) black president has re-defined that moment and has made a mockery of King’s speech and those words in the process.
Barack Hussein Obama capped off two and a half years of racially-applied justice, demonstrably black favoritism, and expressions of anti-white sentiments by issuing an executive order convolutely entitled, “Establishing a Coordinated Government-wide Initiative to Promote Diversity and Inclusion in the Federal Workforce.”
The stated purpose of the order is “to promote the federal workplace as a model of equal opportunity, diversity and inclusion.”
As Kermit the Frog is wont to moan, “It’s not easy being green.” It’s also not easy being white in Barack Hussein Obama’s America. The Washington Times clarified the White House directive in an editorial: “Whites need not apply” when it comes to employment with the nation’s largest employer. (http://bit.ly/qzYpGM)
The Times elaborated by pointing out that the ”diversity the government is seeking is not diversity of ideas, outlooks or work experiences. In contemporary political parlance, ‘diversity’ refers primarily to the color of one’s skin and not the content of one’s character” as evidenced by details in the executive order. It incorporates such language as, the federal government “must create a culture that encourages collaboration, flexibility and fairness to enable individuals to participate to their full potential.”
However, in a bald-faced effort to tilt the playing field, “the government will intensify programs that discriminate against white Americans by extending special privileges to everyone else.” Laughably, ”The order also says that ‘attaining a diverse, qualified workforce is one of the cornerstones of the merit-based civil service,’ ” while abandoning even the semblance of a fair meritocracy.
The executive order was issued in absentia by the president; he was busily conducting the nation’s business from afar in Martha’s Vineyard where he could escape some of the reaction and political brickbats. Nevertheless, it effectively negates the import and spirit of King’s 1963 speech as well as make the feds the nation’s prime agency of discrimination.
Our federal government–virtually the only employer hiring in D.C.–will now hire exclusively on the bases of “diversity and inclusion,” code for skin color, a factor King felt abhorrent. By presidential decree, their character content and qualifications be damned.
The government initiative is all the more startling, and ironic, in that it was announced during the same week a black congressional Democrat who holds office primarily because she is black went on an unholy rant against her (semi-) black, Democrat president. . .

Lies, Race, and the Debt Ceiling
President Barack Hussein Obama’s alternate universe is catching up with him. Being an inveterate and practiced liar can do that to a person. Such people eventually tend to an inability to distinguish truth and facts from fiction and fantasy.
Obama demonstrated reality slippage when he misstated his daughter’s age and even seems confused as to his own age. Those examples are relatively harmless, except to his daughter and birthday planners. However, his flight into fantasy on public support for higher taxes in lieu of massive spending cuts is positively dangerous, disturbing, and symptomatic of his allegedly massive brain in disarray, or his continued baldfaced lying.
Fortunately–for Barack–his back is well-covered with the race card supplied by black racist Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee (D-Texas). And, here I thought America was beyond all that race crap thanks to our first semi-African-American president!
Having already scared the bejesus out of elders by threatening to cut off their Social Security checks, just one day following the publication of a highly reputable Rasmussen Report showing that barely a third of Americans favor raising taxes to pay for more Democrat profligacy and that 55% oppose that insanity, Obama announced at a press conference that 80% of the public is “sold” on the necessity of tax hikes.
As I said, baldfaced lying or alternate universe. I’m not sure which is worse.
Neither Rasmussen nor the president made crystal clear the source of their percentages. The Rasmussen survey was based on a telephone sampling of a thousand likely voters taken July 12-13. See all the Rasmussen Report numbers here: http://bit.ly/o9Kaxl
Obama didn’t poll anyone. His 80% “sold” was predicated on wishful thinking.
Neither officially factored in the 45% of Americans who pay no federal income taxes or the one-seventh of the public that collects food stamps, groups which overlap and which couldn’t give a damn about the national debt or taxes since they don’t pay any taxes and are living on the public dole.
Further illustrating his reality disconnect, or blatant lying, or both, the ideologically-driven leftist Obama also pointed out the essential cause of the D.C. stalemate on the debt limit: ”The problem is [Republican] members of Congress are dug in ideologically” and virtual slaves to lobbyists and “special interests.”
He made no mention of his own locked-in special interest constituencies, the tax-free 45% and the food-stampers. (http://bit.ly/rq8lt2)
Our leader has no worries, though. Astronomical national debt, record deficits, the potential bankruptcy of the United States of America are of little consequence. All of this partisan brouhaha has nothing to do with the issues at hand, according to Rep. Jackson Lee. It all has to do with race. . .

Only the New York Times could run a headline, “Is Anti-White Bias a Problem?”
Well, that’s not exactly true since the Washington Post, the LA Times, the Boston Globe, and countless other liberal-leftist “newspapers” could easily have posed the same inane question but “The Paper of Record,” until it goes defunct, is still the standard bearer which still sets the agenda and the tone of social and political discourse in America.
Based on that headline, and granting the query ran on its “Opinion” page, either the Times has doubts on whether bias against white people in the United States is problematic or, if it exists, does it matter? Otherwise, why even broach the topic for discussion?
Will the “Old Grey Lady’s” next subject be, ”Wife Beating, Good or Bad?” or, “Is Gay-Bashing Ever Profitable?”
The brief Times piece begins with, ”In what some have called the new post-racial era, what constitutes discrimination is shifting,” then cites one of many instances in which African-Americans have contested fair and equitable municipal qualification exams and have had the results of those tests overturned in courts. One of those decisions, in turn, was overruled by the U.S. Supreme Court which determined it discriminated against white people. (http://nyti.ms/mHRTuK)

But white Americans perceived that progress as coming at their expense and that anti-white bias has become a bigger societal problem than anti-black bias.”
Employing a 1-10 scale, the researchers discovered significant changes in what people have come to perceive about bias over the past 50 years: Black perceptions of anti-black bias declined from 9.7 in the fifties to 6.1 today while black views of bias against whites rose a minuscule 1.4 to 1.8. That latter number clearly shows the national, racial divide: White perceptions of anti-white bias soared from 1.8 to 4.7 in the same time period . . .

It's About Time Someone Punched Back!
Let’s face it. As a group, conservatives are too often weenies, just too damned meek for their own good.
Granted, the second Beatitude reads, “The meek shall inherit the Earth” but before that can happen we have to battle defamation, promote truth, challenge the defamers, and win elections. Humility, docility, and submissiveness just won’t cut it nowadays.
With virtually the entirety of the mainstream media on the other side, it’s no easy task to battle, promote, and challenge the left, the liberals, the “progressives” so it’s good to see some degree of resistance and retaliation such as that demonstrated yesterday by the Tea Party.
That much-maligned, amorphous and diverse collection of Americans, blacks, whites, elders, young people, Democrats, Republicans, independents, libertarians, and moderates are concerned primarily about excessive taxation, (TEA=Taxed Enough Already), big government and everything associated with big government including its primary exponent, President Barack Obama.
It is the Tea Party’s opposition to Obama that has inspired most of the brickbats hurled its way.
Even before Obama’s election, it was widely expected that any criticism of the president would be contorted into charges of racism . . .

Probably the 3 most pathetic news items to hit the wires in the last 24 hours are the desparate efforts of Rep. Maxine Waters and Rep. Charles Rangel to blame their ethical violations on racism and the effort of the family of mass murderer Omar Thornton to do likewise.
They’re pathetic but explicable in the racially-charged atmosphere and race-baiting the Obama administration has created in this country.
Gallup has released its latest poll on the president’s job approval ratings revealing, in a nutshell, that there is a marked racial component in how African-Americans think and function.
Gallup reports that “Obama’s job approval ratings among blacks, whites, and Hispanics in July are all at their lowest levels to date, although the overwhelming majority of blacks still approve.”
Thus, in post-racial America, it seems that quite a few people still operate on a racial plane. Blacks, especially, approve of and will undoubtedly again vote for Obama come 2012 although their approval has slipped to a still robust 88% in July as opposed to the 96% that voted for him just 20 months ago.
Since only 38% of whites now approve of the job Obama has been doing, a 50% difference, something seems awry. Compared with the 2008 tally when Obama garnered 43% of the white vote, that’s a very significant disparity since blacks only comprised 13% of the overall vote and whites 74%: http://tiny.cc/ktxwp
So what do we make of that plethora of numbers? . . .

Racial segregation committed against white children: The black principal of Dicken Elementary School in Ann Arbor, Michigan had a wonderful idea for his school’s AA Lunch Bunch, a segregated, all-black group of students: He took them on a field trip to meet an African-American rocket scientist.
Upon returning to Dicken, Principal Mike Madison heard boos coming from the fifth graders who had been left behind. According to those students and their parents, Madison tore into the boo-ers, lecturing them on race issues and belittling a Muslim girl who complained about discrimination.

Tiger, Tiger, Burning Out
Tiger, Tiger Burning Out
“Tyger! Tyger! burning bright,/ In the forests of the night,
What immortal hand or eye/ Could frame thy fearful symmetry?”
That first stanza of the famous poem, “Tyger, Tyger, Burning Bright” by the eighteenth century English poet William Blake is disproven by this Vanity Fair photo of fallen hero, Tiger Woods.
Snapped by noted photog Annie Liebowitz some years ago, it graced the most recent cover of the mag for various reasons including America’s very own Tyger Woods’ November run-in with his mailbox, a hedge, a tree, and Mrs. Woods–and because the near-bankrupt Liebowitz needed some $$$.

Taboo! The Truth about Black Crime, Part II
As long as mankind is imperfect, human societies will be imperfect and one glaring imperfection is the prevalence of criminal activities. When we ignore or deny the truth concerning the perpetrators of crime we not only perpetuate but encourage such activities.
Such is the prevailing wisdom today in America where political correctness–and fear–dictate domestic policy with regard to law enforcement, such as with profiling, and media reports regarding Black on Black and Black on White crimes.
The motivation for the PC element is obvious: Suck up.
The fear element is rooted in the terror politicians feel should they speak the truth and thereby incur the wrath of Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton, and their ACORN minions at election time.
As noted in the first of this “Taboo!” series, “It’s one thing if Blacks choose to maim and murder other Blacks. When they choose to visit mayhem on others, they should take into account that they are a minority,” http://www.genelalor.com/blog1/?p=1243, point being that neither the majority of a people and certainly not a minority are permitted to get away with murder.
And murder, as well as every other crime imaginable, is rampant in Black communities.
Ta-Nahisi Coates, a Black woman, contends in an expletive-laden article on, of all websites, TheAtlantic.com, that Blacks deeply care about the violence epidemic among their own.
She concludes, based on her close observation, that “the sentiment that black people are unconcerned about black on black crime is simply wrong:” http://bit.ly/1cFB0e.
If Coates is correct, it’s difficult to comprehend why the mayhem continues unabated, even with Black idol, Bill Cosby, preaching values, restraint and personal responsibility.
Another observer draws a parallel between abortions and Black crime, sugesting that if abortion were not legalized in 1973 Black criminal rates would be even more astronomical. See the charts and data for pre- and post- Roe v Wade crime here: http://bit.ly/GX7uR.
One oft-heard, simplistic defense for Black crime stats is that they aren’t true, that more Whites are evil-doers, and more Whites are serving prison time. It’s a simplistic argument since Whites outnumber Blacks in America by a ratio of 5 to 1 that more Caucasian reprobates would be reasonable.
We also hear that so great a percentage of Blacks, principally, young, male Blacks, are imprisoned in America’s jails not due to their crimes but because of racial discrimination.
That’s tantamount to saying that a much lower percentage of White people who should be in prison are comfortably ensconced in their homes watching the boob tube and swilling Budweisers simply because of their race.
In other words, murders, robberies, assaults, rapes, burglaries, etc. have absolutely nothing to do with rates of incarceration. It all goes back to racism, as does the sad inability of swine to fly.
Then we come to the issue of interracial crimes. . . .

It’s part of the maturation process for the male of the species comparable to big horn sheep butting heads and young wolves biting their siblings, all in the cause of determining the dominant big horns and the alpha males.
Sometimes, however, kid fights become something else entirely, such as brutal assaults on one kid by multiple other kids as a child audience looks on and rabidly cheers the assault.
When the assailants and audience are of a different race from the assailed, the spectre of racism and racial hate crime unavoidably rears its ugly head and may be undeniable.
Now, Jesse Jackson has assured us that Blacks can’t be racists by virtue of the fact they are not “empowered” in America. The logic of that thinking has long eluded me but most of what the Rev. Jackson preaches eludes my simple mind.
