Recent White House Deceptions: Transcripts, Dreams, and Muslims
In our high-speed Internet, our 24/7 cable news age, we tend to get complacent insofar as the news and information we’re getting, innocently believing that what we’re seeing and hearing is substantially everything that’s out there, that it’s relatively accurate and reliable.
That ain’t necessarily so, especially when the news and information relate to the White House and its current residents.
Cases in point: White House transcripts which aren’t transcripted as much as they are scripted, the nightmarish Dream Act which seemed dead yet is very much alive, and the prosecution of Muslim terrorists who may very well be merely misunderstood conscientious objectors. . .

Texas Togetherness, Obama-Style
In “Grease,” Danny and Sandy memorably sang, “We go together like rama lama lama ke ding a de dinga a dong remembered for ever like shoo bop shoo wadda wadda yipitty boom de boom.”
Rama lamas, ke dings, shoo bops, and boom de booms aside, our president has a radically different view of what most Americans believe “going together” and “togetherness” mean. His view is that they mean going and being together on the surface until the next election and in the interim he’s into anything but true inclusiveness.
Central to the prospects of four more years of Obamian divisiveness, race-baiting, economic stagflation, socializing health care, et al. is the administration’s linkage of those groups he must cajole and pay off. All others can go to hell.
His prime constituencies, misguided whites who will again vote for Obama in repentance for white guilt, naive blacks who would vote for him en masse even if he were to profess membership in Al-qaeda, gays who have gotten virtually all they have demanded and want even more, and the millions of hispanics who especially like him because he hates us gringos as much as they do.
Nowhere has Obama’s obsequious catering to the hispanic vote been more blatant than in his southern border policy, or lack thereof.
Janet Napolitano’s TSA got a temporary Texan comeuppance to its insane airport security pat-down policies which this week incorporated a diaper wrinkle as TSA agents literally sniffed into an infant’s nappy in search of a bomb. Late Thursday, the Texas House passed a bill that would make “inappropriate” touching of a traveller’s “anus, sexual organ, buttocks, or breast,” including through clothing, a criminal act. No mention was made of diapers.
No mention to any of that touching is necessary with regard to America’s borders which Big Bro Obama and Big Sis Napolitano contend are as secure as the White House grounds. well, maybe not that secure but certainly as secure as New York City, well, maybe not that secure either but very secure, really.
Our president has more on his mind than borders, anyway. . .

Humor, Calderon-Salazar Style
Politicians are by nature gregarious, almost as gregarious as they are entertaining.
Showing that our own politicos don’t have a lock on the absurd, Mexico’s President Felipe Calderon gave fair warning to Americans during his visit to the Land of the Gringos that Mexicans were getting upset with us over the illegal immigration issue. Before we go ahead and do something foolish, like securing our borders and asserting our national integrity, Calderon wants us to speak softly and drop Teddy Roosevelt’s menacing, big stick.
Calderon didn’t specifically refer to Teddy’s stick but he did declare that, “We need to change the general perception inside the public opinion in America and the public opinion in Mexico” because ”bad feelings are growing on both sides of the border. The anti-American feeling in Mexico is growing again” and we should all make nice.
He didn’t actually say that either. What Calderon did say was that, “What we need to do is remember each other–that we are neighbors, we are nice, and we are human persons. We contribute to each other’s prosperity.”
In a Q&A following a speech to the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars, the Mexican president added that the “Dream Act,” would have been a great move a toward alleviating those Mexican “bad feelings” and negative perceptions toward America: http://tiny.cc/lv7kr
In a joint appearance with President Obama, Calderon also voiced his hearty support for Obama’s Comprehensive Immigration Reform.
We certainly can’t permit those feelings and perceptions to fester and should, therefore, have passed the “Dream Act,” which would have rewarded young criminal illegals in our country. We certainly should endorse Obama’s package which would express the nation’s appreciation to the other 13 million or so, mostly-Mexican, criminal illegal aliens who have violated our laws by sneaking across the border, who have taken jobs away from legal residents, who have wreaked havoc in border towns, who don’t pay income taxes and have over-stuffed our prison systems.
Still, Calderon’s ideas could be implemented, with one stipulation: Mexico would have to repeal its own onerous immigration laws which make Arizona’s seem like an engraved invitation.
Among other things, those laws provide for the imprisonment and/or expulsion of any foreigners stupid enough to intrude on Mexican soil and the jailing of those who assist them. They also impose severe restrictions even on legal immigrants, requiring an unblemished character and a capacity to significantly contribute to Mexican society.
Until such repeal, we should regard Calderon’s suggestions for what they must be, a tongue-in-cheeky effort to induce American guffaws.
The United States Secretary of the Interior Ken Salazar isn’t especially known as a stand-up comedian but he recently rivaled Felipe Calderon’s comical ideas in his statements on American energy independence.
With a straight face–politicians are awesome when they tell jokes–Salazar ridiculed the popular chant, “Drill, baby, drill!” and dismissed without answering a question on getting oil from the Alaskan National Wildlife Refuge. His non-response: “We don’t believe that you need to drill everywhere.”
No one had suggested drilling “everywhere.” . . .

What To Do With an Annoying Neighbor
What do you do with an annoying neighbor? Ignore them, of course, insofar as you can.
But, what do you do with a neighbor who isn’t just annoying but who climbs over your fence? Well, ignore them the first time and after that speak sternly to them.
Yeah, fine, but what do you do if they persistently climb over your fence and poison your dog, steal your garden tools, threaten your family, and generally wreak havoc in the neighborhood? Well, short of shooting them on the spot, you could call the cops and you might consider visiting the neighbor and laying down the law.
Republican Texas Governor Rick Perry has one of those havoc-wreaking neighbors. We all do. The neighbor is Mexico where the government has demonstrated that not only can it not control its criminal elements but actually encourages its citizens to continue trespassing on our turf but provides maps, sustenance, and tips for those millions of invaders on how to evade capture by those gringos to its north.
Governor Perry wants to pay neighboring Mexico a visit–via the United States’ militar, although he couches his suggestion in politician-ese, saying on MSNBC, “I think we have to use every aspect of law enforcement that we have, including the military. I think you have the same situation as you had in Colombia.”
Then comes the politician-ese, “Obviously, Mexico has to approve any type of assistance that we can give them” and offers his rationale: “But the fact of the matter is, these are people who are highly motivated with money. They are vicious. They are armed to the teeth. I want to see them defeated. And any means that we can to run these people off our border and to save Americans’ lives we need to be engaged in.”

America's New Immigrants
. . . We hold out a candle of true hope and change for foreigners to come to our still but barely shining city upon a hill, a beacon to the desparate, and to the comfortable, of the world who flock here lately not for the unlimited, boundless opportunities America offers but rather for how we can be milked, changed, and distorted to fit their twisted views of government.
It’s an incredibly sorry state of affairs made much sorrier by a national administration which welcomes dissidents and anarchists and oddballs, all in the name of a divisive policy of diversity. . .

A Nation Defined and Defiled

Lady Liberty’s inscription in part reads,”Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free.” It makes no reference nor does it imply that illegal aliens, often reprobate aliens, are invited to join us in the ongoing, 221 year old experiment in liberty that is America.
Nevertheless, that invitation has been extended to virtually everyone on Planet Earth, including those misanthropic earthlings whose primary purpose in life is to destroy us. All we used to ask is that immigrants enter the country legally and abide by our laws. It was assumed they would learn our language and willingly assimilate into our culture.
Most people would call that immigration policy suicidal, especially when many sneak in, violate our laws, and reject our language and culture. The United States calls it multiculturalism, inclusion, anything other than an asinine, national suicide policy.
This week the laughable Department of Homeland Security’s U.S. Customs and Border Protection division, CBP, issued its annual report which included an admission that it has established “effective control” of only 873 miles of our 1,954 mile border with Mexico–and that’s an “improvement” over 2009! . . .

From the Good News/Bad News Department: The U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement Agency, affectionately known as ICE, announced that as of September 5, 2010 it had apprehended 506,232 illegal aliens over the course of about 10 months. That’s about 50,623 bad guys and gals per month nabbed by the agency, which is pretty outstanding enforcement.
That’s the good news.
The bad news about ICE, which could also be termed the TBA, for Teats on a Bull Agency, is that they also announced they had released 506,232 illegal aliens who are now no longer considered illegal aliens but rather fugitive aliens.
ICE/TBA takes a curious approach to law enforcement and fulfilling its mission; its approach is founded on placing trust in its apprehendees.
In effect, our federal agents say to the criminal, illegal aliens, “Now, you be good, okay? Just show up on the appointed day so we can have a hearing and deport you. Got that?” The illegals gladly say, “Si, senor!” and are never seen or heard from again,. . .

On the eve of implementation of SB1070, Arizona’s anti-illegal immigration law, United States District Court Judge Susan Bolton, a Clinton appointee, issued her decision on the federal government’s suit seeking an injunction against or the voiding of SB1070.
In a nutshell, illegal aliens won, the American people lost, although we haven’t lost everything. The judge gutted the principal features of the law but allowed some provisions to stand.
Also, there will be appeals, first to Bolton to re-consider her decision and then probably to the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals which is the most liberal circuit court in the country but which has sided with Arizona on similar issues in the past.
There were high hopes that Judge Bolton would find for Arizona since she had voiced skepticism as to whether SB1070 actually does pre-empt federal immigration law and whether the feds should be trying to overturn Arizona’s right to be “inhospitable” to illegal aliens but politics eventually prevailed.
Okay, so what’s out and what’s still in? . . .

According to its own website, two of the missions of our Department of Homeland Security (DHS), head honchette, former Arizona Governor Janet Napolitano, is “Securing Our Borders” and “Enforcing Our Immigration Laws.”
That DHS has failed in both missions is apparent from the chaos that exists on our southern border where the flood of illegal and brazen immigrants continues unabated, border guards are assaulted and shot at, and crime is rampant in border states.
To compound that failure, Secretary Napolitano has now announced the surrender of the DHS.

Contrarian News
An investment contrarian is one who invests against the trends. If the market is headed upwards–a rarity these days–a contrarian will sell and vice versa. Contrarian news likewise moves in the opposite direction of prevailing trends and as such is more newsworthy than conventional news.
Three contrarian news views:
Bullying Can Be a Good Thing: Just about every student K-12 has either been a bully, been bullied, or has witnessed the fine art of bullying up close and personal.
Bullies and bullying have become popular buzzwords in educational circles in recent years as if they were new phenomena. Programs and seminars have been introduced to combat the evil of one kid or a bunch of kids intimidating or physically harming a weaker victim.
Now comes a study out of England, a British study of American children 11 and 12, which shows that being bullied can be advantageous to the pre-pubescent set. A prime requisite for the bullied is that they resist the intimidation and fight back in one way or another. In that eventuality, they gain respect and a sense of maturity. . .

It’s common courtesy for a guest invited into someone’s home to be gracious, non-judgemental, and not contumely. Similarly, it’s common sense that the homeowner also not tolerate rude and insulting behavior on the part of said guest.
The President of Mexico has been visiting the White House–the American peoples’ house–and he engaged in notably un-diplomatic behavior, markedly rude behavior, and the current caretaker of our house thought so little of his fellow countrymen that he refused to call him on it.
In a joint, two question, press conference in the Rose Garden on Wednesday, President Felipe Calderon criticized the Arizona law on illegal immigrants. “Many of them, [illegals whom he prefers to call “migrants”] despite their significant contribution to the economy and to the society of the United States, still live in the shadows and, occasionally, as in Arizona, they even face discrimination,” Calderon said.
Instead of defending Arizonans and politely suggesting Calderon had outworn his welcome by attacking the law of a sovereign state which happens to mirror United States’ statutes, the caretaker concurred with the Mexican leader and spoke of a possible civil rights suit against Arizona: http://tiny.cc/14afv . . .

It’s common courtesy for a guest invited into someone’s home to be gracious, non-judgemental, and not contumely. Similarly, it’s common sense that the homeowner also not tolerate rude and insulting behavior on the part of said guest.
The President of Mexico has been visiting the White House–the American peoples’ house–and he engaged in notably un-diplomatic behavior, markedly rude behavior, and the current caretaker of our house thought so little of his fellow countrymen that he refused to call him on it.
In a joint, two question, press conference in the Rose Garden on Wednesday, President Felipe Calderon criticized the Arizona law on illegal immigrants. “Many of them, [illegals whom he prefers to call “migrants”] despite their significant contribution to the economy and to the society of the United States, still live in the shadows and, occasionally, as in Arizona, they even face discrimination,” Calderon said.
Instead of defending Arizonans and politely suggesting Calderon had outworn his welcome by attacking the law of a sovereign state which happens to mirror United States’ statutes, the caretaker concurred with the Mexican leader and spoke of a possible civil rights suit against Arizona: http://tiny.cc/14afv . . .

These Are Our Leaders?
Leadership has been defined as “a process by which a person influences others to accomplish an objective and directs the organization in a way that makes it more cohesive and coherent.”
We look to our leaders and others in authority to show us the way, to inspire and to motivate whether on a national, state, or local level and in our daily lives. Everyone can’t be a leader; with all chiefs and no braves, we would have chaos so those who assume the mantle of leadership have a unique obligation to show the way.
What we have in America today is a dearth of true leaders, a crisis of leadership in that many of our leaders seemingly haven’t the foggiest notion of what their responsibilities are and how to fulfill them. They may be accomplishing their narrow personal goals but they all but ignore their broader national leadership mandates.
They don’t know how to lead.
A prime case in point is our attorney general,. . .

The War in Our Streets, Part One
There’s very definitely a war in progress on America’s streets, a number of wars, really.
Some could be termed skirmishes such as the ongoing war against crime, particularly in our cities and more particularly within our inner cities where minorities continue to commit mayhem and murder almost with impunity.
Another is a more recent series of battles involving patriotic and God-fearing Americans who cherish our country and who dearly hope for its survival in the face of an invasion across our southern, swiss cheese-y border.
As serious as those struggles are, the most dangerous at the moment is the war that our commander-in-chief refuses to concede even exists, the war against Islamic terrorism.
The title of a Pat Buchanan article, “Is the War Coming Home?” poses what must be a rhetorical question since surely Buchanan is well aware that the undeclared war with Islam “came home” years before the unsuccessful effort to murder thousands in Times Square on May 1st. . .

Whose country is this, anyway?
The passage of the Arizona illegal immigration bill may have been the greatest thing to happen in this country in years. It ignited firestorms on both sides of the issue, firestorms that have been burning more brightly on the anti-American, pro-illegal aliens side but that same light just may be awakening the sleeping giant that is the pro-America side.
In apparent reaction to the liberal fury over the Arizona law, students in the West and Southwest have been causing a nationwide commotion by daring to wear tee shirts emblazoned with the American flag and have been disciplined for doing so.
One California school district realized the error of its ways in suspending students for wearing “incendiary” emblems on their tees, namely representations of American flags, but didn’t see that error until parents protested: http://tiny.cc/p285d
How the American flag could ever be incendiary is beyond me, except when it is burned by America-haters, but District Superintendent Wesley Smith covered for the administrators of Live Oak High School by issuing a statement. It wasn’t an apology for administrative wrongdoing or ignorance but rather a policy clarification. . .

Mexicans in America: Tercera Parte: Criminal Activities
Mexicans in America: Criminal Elements
Yesterday’s installment of this re-published series focused on Aztlan, the mythical place; today’s Part Three deals with the criminals in that very real place, the United States.
Mexicans, El Salvadorans, Guatemalans, any Hispanics and, indeed, most people of any nationality are fundamentally good people. At least, that’s what I firmly believe.
I’ve also said that if I were in their positions of poverty and deprivation and if I had the opportunity to sneak into another country which happened to be rich by my standards, I probably would do it. If that were the only way I could provide for my family, as illegal as it may be, I’d give it a shot and risk arrest, deportation, and imprisonment, though imprisonment would be rare if I snuck into the United States.
Chances are, if I were apprehended for violating American immigration laws, I’d be fed a meal then packed off to my native country, enabling me to try, try, try again until I made it into the Land of the Gringos where I could earn some dollars to FedEx back home to be converted into pesos so that my wife and kids could eat and be a tad more comfortable.
Whether it would be via a restaurant job, a farm job, a factory job, I would consider myself, and my family, fortunate. I guess I’d pass at nannying, but who knows? . . .

The legendary radio talk show personality, Bob Grant, is a trip.
Quirky, abrasive, and occasionally downright rude to some of his callers, he’s as off-putting to his fans as he is to his multitude of liberal critics.
Now 81 years young, Grant, born Robert Ciro Gigante, has long been one of the most irascible, intemperate, and controversial–and popular and conservative–local talk show hosts in broadcast history. Still on the air after well over half a century, he now presides over “The Bob Grant Show” on WABC 770 (New York) Sundays from noon to 2 PM and writes weekly articles for “BobGrantOnline.com.”
Three of the those pieces recently caught my attention, specifically “GOP Needs to Unify,” (April 8th), “Obama: The Enemy Inside the Gate,” (April 21st) and “Illegals Add to Our Problems,” (April 27th).
“GOP Needs to Unify” posits the contrarian point of view–Grant’s specialty–that the Republican Party will not take over the Congress in the coming election primarily because it lacks unity among its members and leadership. . .

"A Nation of Immigrants"
We all know the devil can cite scripture for his purpose and that words can be twisted out of all proportion from their original meaning and intent.
Such is the case with the term “a nation of immigrants” which has become a catch phrase of the illegal immigration, illegal migration, undocumented workers now demonstrating nationwide for reform of America’s immigration laws.
Aside from those “nations” which don’t deserve that designation by virtue of having no defined borders or no interest in or capability of defending their borders, the United States of America has some of the less stringent immigration laws on the planet.
Post 9/11 and much too late, we tightened up visa, immigration, and citizenship policies but it’s worth noting that all of that tightening relates to legal immigrants, those willing to wait on line, be patient, pay the relevant fees and hope for admission into our great land. . .

Yesterday’s first installment of this re-published series focused on Aztlan, the mythical place; today’s Part Two deals with the movement called MEChA.
I’ve personally seen illegals in action and I can say that Mexicans, and most other Latinos, are damned hard workers.
Whether they arrived via wading across the Rio Grande or by running across the Sonoran or Chihuahuan Deserts, by being trucked in, or by any other means, their entrance onto our shores was not an easy one, in most cases. From the southwest they then migrated north and east and west and take jobs that Americans, we are told, don’t want, from farm laborers, to factory workers, to restaurant workers, even nannies.
If I were in their positions in their home countries, immersed in poverty and politically corrupt regimes, their families barely eking out existences in fetid cities and on dismal farms, I would probably do the same, that is, illegally enter that rich nation of the gringos, work hard, live meagerly, and ship bundles of American dollars back home to help keep their loved ones alive. . .

There’s a rumor afoot that the senior United States senator from the state of South Carolina, Lindsey Graham, member of the Armed Services and Judiciary Committees, Air Force vet and current AF reserve colonel, is a closeted gay.
As Jerry Seinfeld would say, “Not that there’s anything wrong with that.” Or, is there?
William Gheen, thinks there is something very wrong with that–if the allegation is true.
Gheen heads the conservative, anti-amnesty, anti-illegal immigration Americans for Legal Immigration PAC (ALIPAC), and spoke at a Greenville, S.C. Tea Party rally this past weekend and called for Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) to “come out of that log cabin closet:” http://huff.to/aAKqzY
Dems fighting words in most areas of the country even if they aren’t in Seinfeld’s ultra liberal New York City.
(For those not aware, the so-called “Log Cabin Republicans” are a group of socially liberal, fiscally conservative homosexuals who claim membership in the Republican Party.)
Gheen feels the lifelong-bachelor Graham’s possible homosexuality would be problematic for a variety of reasons. The 54 year old Graham is not due to face the voters in socially-conservative South Carolina until 2014 so he has plenty of time to refute the charge, assuming he sees a need of refutation.
