Sebellius on Stealth Obamacare
Before the passage of Obamacare, the president and his lackeys were busy denying the rumors of death panels and all the other features of the bill that people were saying would lead to government dictating medical benefits and rationing of health care to America’s sick and elderly.
Since no one actually read what National Review referred to as the “2,562 tree-killing pages” of the Obamacare monstrosity, I guess it’s not surprising to discover that those denials were a pack of lies.
Among others, deposed Senator Arlen Specter and Montana Senator Jon Tester swore that,”If there’s language in there that says the government’s going to make my health care decisions, we’ll get it out. I don’t believe that:” http://tiny.cc/399n7
Of course, simply reading the bill would have cleared up any “ifs” but no one bothered to do that.
Now, Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebellius has cleared that matter up with the announcement that not only will rationing be a feature of Obamacare when it is fully implemented in 2014 but that “Dr. Donald Berwick, an advocate of health-care rationing nominated by President Barack Obama to run Medicare and Medicaid, is ‘absolutely the right leader at this time’ to run the government’s largest health-care entitlement programs.”
Dubbed “Obama’s rationing man” by The American Spectator, . . .

Big Bucks for Dead Babies
Big Bucks for Dead Babies
It should be good news that at least one sector of our economy is thriving but, unfortunately for pre-born human life, that fact represents very bad news.
With approximately 50,000,000 legal abortions already performed in America since Roe v. Wade, the leader in the highly lucrative business of killing the pre-born has announced its bottom line is looking just peachy keen. “The Planned Parenthood Federation of America [PPFOA] annual report for 2007-2008 revealed record net assets of $1.014 billion and an increase of 15,560 more abortions in 2007 than the previous year:” http://www.cnsnews.com/public/content/article.aspx?RsrcID=46449.
Rendering that success even peachier, that CNS report includes what may be a revelation to some, namely that “The American taxpayer also contributed more than ever before, with $349.6 million of Planned Parenthood’s funding coming from government grants and contracts.”
The PPFOA is right up there with politicians as the most deceptive and hypocritical group in our country but, whereas politicos are generally understood to be liars and cheats, the PPFOA is considered fairly reputable. Witness that $349.6 million of hard earned taxes which goes into its coffers, thanks to you, me, and everyone else, which monies would never be funneled into a disreputable organization, right? . . .

No Surprises
No Surprises
Unsurprising News Tidbits:
. President Transparency Manipulates a Town Hall: Barack Obama is not one for public surprises. He was taken aback last week when a group of gay protestors repeatedly disrupted a speech with demands he push for repeal of the military’s DADT policy regarding gays. This week he reverted to form by stacking a town hall meeting with supporters in Iowa.
See the video here and note the enthusiastic guy behind Obama wearing a tee shirt emblazoned with the words, “Community Organizer:” http://bit.ly/95o4UA
. An Obamacare Ooops: Recall all those promises that Obamacare would save money, wouldn’t force people out of their current insurance plans, wouldn’t adversely impact Medicaid, etc.? Now a report from HHS Chief Actuary Richard Foster reveals that was all a pack of lies. . .

Predictable News
Predictable News
Sometimes it’s not worth the bother to open a newspaper or switch on the boob tube to catch the news. Much of it could have been written by the average freshman journalism major before it hit the wires.
For example, Chai Feldblum, recently nominated by the president to serve on the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, (EEOC), last month published an article titled, “Moral Conflict and Liberty: Gay Rights and Religion” in which she made what would normally be an outlandish assertion.
However, considering the outrageous beliefs and statements of other Obama appointments, Ms. Feldblum’s views should have been anticipated.
“Just as we do not tolerate private racial beliefs that adversely affect African-Americans in the commercial arena, even if such beliefs are based on religious views,” she wrote, ”we should similarly not tolerate private beliefs about sexual orientation and gender identity that adversely affect LGBT [lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender] people:” http://bit.ly/4P5EIj
Translation: We don’t care if anyone has a moral problem say, with homosexuals trying to recruit high school and junior high school kids to their lifestyle–which they do. Just keep it to yourself if it in any way “adversely affects” LGBT-ers, including if your stated beliefs make them feel bad.
The Libertarian Lexington Institute has released a report showing that more Americans can identify the Gosselins of TV fame than can identify the founding father of the Constitution or who the first chief justice of the United States was.
Talk about a waste of paper and bandwidth! Most Americans can’t identify the current chief justice or George W. Bush’s father, even if they do know who won the Golden Globule Awards and the unwed fathers of the progeny of Hollywood starlets.
The cause of the massive ignorance? The failure of schools to teach. As the report goes on to say, “(S)chool reformers need to do much more to restore history as a vital subject in American education:” http://bit.ly/8mQ3eF
Well, no shoot, Sherlocks! . . .

Abortion and Obamacare
Abortion and Obamacare
Question: Do any of the various obamacare bills floating around congress specifically state, “The government of the United States of America will fund abortions?”
The short answer is, “Obviously not!”
Obviously, because even abortion-loving, leftist Democrats know that including such language or any other language suggesting government-endorsed payments for terminating the lives of the pre-born in any obamacare package would ignite a firestorm of opposition and doom it to failure.
Failure to pass health reform legislation would also doom Obama to ignominious failure and his legacy to oblivion.
However, as usual, the devil lurks hidden in the details. After all, Democrats somehow, some way must satisfy their liberal followers by making certain the United States government preserves their gory sacrament of abortion.
The quintessentially pro-abortion Obama has said repeatedly that the deadly procedure will not be part of his version of health care and that it’s just one more “myth” that obamacare would incorporate abortion.
He and his minions say a lot of things, including contradicting themselves on the public option, insisting Americans would be free to keep their current medical insurance, swearing that illegals won’t be covered, vowing there will be no rationing, and refusing to pull the plug on grandma.
Unsaid is that after private insurers have been run out of business, there won’t be any other options available and the millions of illegals will all be declared legals. As for grandma, after getting her “end of life counseling,” she’ll be so depressed she’ll pull her own plug.
At Notre Dame last spring, . . .
