An Unanticipated Presidential Jobs Speech
America, Europe, the universe are all waiting in anxious expectation for–and trepidation over–the president’s long-awaited jobs speech, THE SPEECH before a joint session of Congress.
Well, not really. The White House has been playing down its import, few people care what he has to say, and even fewer expect him to say anything we don’t already know: The economy is down, unemployment is up, and Obama will propose flushing a few hundred billion more down the toilet.
The un-momentous address was unavoidably delayed until Barack Hussein Obama could wrap up his latest vacation and figure out what to do in order to get the 26 million of unemployed and underemployed Americans back to work at jobs that pay more than Mickey D and Wal-Mart. Then those nasty Republicans threw a wrench into the presidential plans–by impertinently scheduling a debate months in advance.
It may not be an important speech but it’s almost unprecedented.
Other than States of the Union addresses, Bill Clinton and George W. Bush each commanded America’s prime-time attention via a joint session only twice each in their eight-year tenures; Obama’s address will be his second in the spanse of a mere 32 months.
The White House may have initially strategized the event as blockbuster of utmost significance but when Obama had to defer to Speaker Boehner due to Boehner’s insistence the pre-arranged Wednesday Republican debate took precedence the significance faded. Suspicions the speech would devolve into a campaign pitch and a dearth of administration employment ideas didn’t help, either. There are just so many un-shovel-ready projects.
Rebuffed by Boehner, the administration then chose to buck the NFL instead, a major mistake. You don’t mess with football in some necks of the American woods.
A few members of the GOP are doing a little bucking as well, by playing hooky and skipping the address. For one, Louisiana Senator David Vitter is opting for a New Orleans Saints party in his home state rather than attend.
There’s so little interest in the speech that, to Nancy Pelosi’s chagrin, . . .

Updates on Madison: Barack Obama, Jesse Jackson, Chaos
Confronted with deficits approaching $125,000,000,000, some politicians are attempting to make it go away by implementing stringent, emergency measures. Others are attempting to convert emergencies into catastrophies.
The Presidential Usurper: When is the last time a president of the United States intruded himself into local governmental affairs? Why, when President Obama made a total ass of himself in the infamous Cambridge Sgt. Jim Crowley-Prof. Skippy Gates Affair. Before apologizing, Obama alleged that Cambridge cops “acted stupidly” in arresting the racist Gates and had to call his “beer summit” at the White House to patch things up and cover his gaffe.
Prior to that debacle, it was rare indeed that a president got involved in local issues but this president, perhaps unaware that governors governed states and not presidents, has done it again in Madison, Wisconsin.
In conjunction with the DNC, which also has no business interfering in the struggle pitting Wisconsin public unions against Wisconsin taxpayers, Obama jumped in blindly and feet first to take sides on behalf of a major consituency, the union vote, versus new Republican Governor Scott Walker representing fiscal sanity in the Badger State: http://tiny.cc/1yuf6
Who needs sanity when votes are at stake? What follows this gaffe, a cheese summit?
General Jackson Once More Into the Fray: No, that’s not a reference to Old Hickory, Gen. Andrew Jackson, but to the Old Agitator, Rev. Jesse Jackson, who never passes up a chance to stir the chaos pot and the uproar in Wisconsin is right up the alley he once said he would never walk down if young blacks were nearby.
Jackson also once berated Barack Obama for “telling niggers how to behave” and indicated that he’d like ”to cut off his nuts” because of Obama’s remarks about his own people:” http://tiny.cc/yu0si Such language for a “reverend!”
Apparently, though, all is forgiven since Agitator in Chief Jackson is now joining forces with Commander in Chief Obama in the quest to vanquish Governor Walker and foist the uneasy peace of bankruptcy on the good citizens of Wisconsin.
Uninvited and unannounced but undismayed, Jackson showed up in Madison . . .

Are all the polls too good to be true? Are all the pundits right? Are all good men, and women, coming to the aid of their country? Will there be a Republican landslide two weeks from now?
If we believe the experts, that sweep is very feasible.
Just consider: Rasmussen: Republicans may gain 55 seats in the House; ABC News: 63 Dem House seats in peril; Barone: Dem careers threatened by Obamacare vote; Weekly Standard: Dennis Kucinich in trouble. According to The Hill.com, even the Grand Poobah, the Democrat head honcho himself, President Obama, thinks “15 Senate seats [are] still up for grabs.” (Source–Drudge Report, 10/18/10)
Furthermore, Gallup headlined on October 18th, “GOP Holds Solid Leads in Voter Preferences,” those leads ranging from a fairly decent 5% up to, depending on turnout, an astounding 17% in generic polls.
It would seem the biggest danger to Republicans at this point would be overconfidence, a cocksuredness in winning the imminent election that makes them lazy, non-voters.

History and the Evolution of Conservatives and Liberals

For those that don’t know anything about history, the following is a condensed version: Humans originally existed as members of small bands of nomadic hunters/gatherers. They lived on deer in the mountains during the summer and would go to the coast and live on fish and lobster in the winter.
The two most important events in all of history were the invention of beer and the invention of the wheel. The wheel was invented to get man to the beer. These were the foundations of modern civilization and together were the catalyst for the splitting of humanity into two distinct subgroups, liberals and conservatives. Once beer was discovered, it required grain and that was the beginning of agriculture. Neither the glass bottle nor aluminum can were invented yet so while early humans were sitting around waiting for them to be invented, they just stayed close to the brewery. That’s how villages were formed.
Some men spent their days tracking and killing animals to BBQ at night while they were drinking beer. This was the beginning of what is known as the Conservative Movement.
Other men who were weaker and less skilled at hunting learned to live off the conservatives by showing up for the nightly BBQ’s and doing the sewing, fetching, and hair dressing. This was the beginning of the Liberal Movement.
Some of these liberal men eventually evolved into women. They became known as girlie-men. Some noteworthy liberal achievements include the domestication of cats, the invention of group therapy, group hugs, and the concept of democratic voting to decide how to divide the meat and beer that conservatives provided.

Neo-Democrats in Action
Oh, where oh where have real Dems gone. Oh where oh where can they be?
Beats me!
At one time not so very long ago, the Democratic Party was an outstanding American political institution, proud, patriotic and true, honorable and loyal.
What happened?
People disagreed with FDR, HST, JFK, and LBJ but, deep down, the loyal opposition respected those Democrats even if they were very wrong in what they believed and more wrong in the policies and programs they instituted and implemented.
There was rarely any question that Democrats of old were loyal and true Americans who respected and adhered to the Constitution and to American values and beliefs.
That’s not nearly as true anymore as the current breed of Dems has trampled on the Constitution and the Bill of Rights and have collectively turned their backs on the most basic principles that Americans hold dear and which made our nation great.
They are in process of turning a middle-of-the-road nation into an ultra-liberal, far left entity that draws its inspiration from the likes of Saul Alinsky, Noam Chomsky, George Soros, and Bill Ayers instead of from Jefferson, Washington, Adams, and Madison. . .
