Black Racism vs Honest Critiques: Canadians vs Rush Limbaugh

There are fair and honest opinions and then there are sick, vicious diatribes.

The essence of that story relates to a French-Canadian who cracked a joke which so exceeded the boundaries of good taste that to call it merely incendiary is understatement.

The Radio-Canada network host said, almost six months ago: ”It will be good to have a Negro in the White House. It will be practical. Black on white, it will be easier to shoot him.” Said host, whose name does not deserve mention, no doubt considered his remark amusing which clearly demonstrates he is a nitwit and an historically-challenged twit as well.

Even allowing that the witless witticism was spoken by a French-Canadian, it was beyond tasteless and reflected a gross ignorance and insensitivity not only to Obama and his family but to the vast majority of Americans, even to those of us who didn’t vote for the man, and never would.

Fortunately and unfortunately, I lived through those November days of 1963 after Lee Harvey Oswald assassinated America’s president, after Jack Ruby in turn murdered Oswald, and as the nation sat stupefied by it all, that stupefication reaching its zenith and its nadir with the funeral and burial of John F. Kennedy, our 35th president.

I say fortunately because with that perspective I am able to understand perhaps a little better the gravity of Oswald’s cowardly, overtly seditious act and its effect on Americans. Conversely and unfortunately perhaps, I am more sensitive to any suggestion that it be repeated or that even an attempt be made at repetition.

I should add that at the tender age of 18 I did not support the candidacy of Jack Kennedy, despite his Irish heritage. But at the still-tender age of 21, I abhorred his murder.

I also strongly opposed the insanity of nominating and electing Barack Hussein Obama to the presidency. I much more strongly abhor ”assassination jokes” by foreign and domestic sickos which minimize the murder of any American president.

Then there is the other hand, not regarding presidential assassinations but regarding objective criticism and parody of our current, sitting chief executive.

George W. Bush was vilified, castigated, ridiculed, and parodied from the day he announced his candidacy, to his two elections, and throughout his 8 years as president. (For the record, I voted twice for Bush, by default.)

Happy Fourth of July!

(The following was received as an email, with photos added. Please feel free to forward this to as many patriotic Americans as would appreciate it.

Yes, parts of it may be considered hokey in our super-sophisticated, blase’, modern society but all of it is true, sincere, and thoughtful.

We are living through very trying times, times that literally “try men’s souls,” times that once again threaten our liberties and endanger our hard-fought freedoms, times that many are predicting will mark the end of the American Era on the world stage.

I contend that, despite the seriousness of both ominous domestic and foreign threats and dangers, we will ultimately prevail, not succumb, and not be defeated–as long as we retain our God-given, indomitable American spirit and sense of destiny and confidence in this nation’s future.

And what better way to re-assert that confidence than by joyously celebrating our nation’s birth date? We may have a month to go before the anniversary of July 4th,1776 but it’s never too early to celebrate our freedoms and to thank those responsible for preserving those freedoms and our still-intact American independence.)

Postscript for Dr. George Tiller

Those, like me, who wanted to get a look at the website of Dr. George Tiller after his murder Sunday morning in Wichita discovered that the website had been taken down, within 24 hours of his death. Thanks to the efforts of pro-life activist Randall Terry and others, that website was somehow “recovered:” http://web.archive.org/web/20080118044720/www.drtiller.com/mainpg.html.
Since then, the site, www.drtiller.com/ , has become accessible on the web although with inactive links.
Below is a portion of the home page which includes active links to his “Women’s Health Care Services, P.A.”


“Women’s Health Care Services is a professional organization dedicated to providing expert, confidential, and respectful abortion care. We have a national and international reputation for providing the highest quality abortion services in a safe and caring environment. Kindness, courtesy, justice, love and respect are the cornerstones of our patient-provider relationships. “We have an unparalleled record of safey in late abortion services and we have more experience in late abortion services over 24 weeks than anyone else currently practicing in the Western Hemisphere, Europe and Australia.”
Why the site was initially unavailable is a matter of some conjecture; Terry suggests the reason was to conceal the details of what actually went on at Tiller’s “clinic:” http://overturnroe.com/.

However, the various links are as misleading as the facility’s name, “Women’s Health Care Services.” It’s difficult to understand how Tiller’s abortion mill, primarily dedicated to extinguishing the lives of very viable babies, i.e., infants fully capable of living outside the mother’s womb, could have been construed as providing any measure of “health care” to the mothers-to-be. It was also demonstrably unconcerned with the health of the babies killed on the premises.

Similarly, the links on Tiller’s website were clearly intended to cloak the gory specifics of his facility. The words of a Tiller victim,”Kelly,” put the lie to his website subterfuges:. . .

May Dr. George Tiller NOT Rest in Peace

By now, most conscious people are aware of the mindless execution of Dr. George Tiller, allegedly by Scott Philip Roeder. Tiller was shot to death while serving as an usher inside Reformation Lutheran Church in Wichita, Kansas on Sunday, May 31st.

The proper reactions at this point after this reprehensible act of ultimate violence would be to extend one’s deepest sympathies to his family and friends, which I do, and to say the usual, may Tiller rest in peace, which I cannot bring myself to do.

That sentiment or, more precisely lack of sentiment, in itself would appear to be reprehensible but it is defensible.

Senseless murder can never be condoned and before anyone alleges that capital punishment is murder let’s make it clear that such executions are both legal and anything but senseless. The escape two days earlier by two convicted murderers from an Arkansas prison represents further testimony for the necessity of capital punishment. By now, they could be replicating more capital murders.

The murder of Tiller in his church by a crazed fool can never be condoned under any circumstances. If his killer felt he was following God’s will, he is an even greater fool since the murder will undoubtedly redound against the pro-life, right to life movement and provide fodder for abortionists to claim we who are pro-life are no better than they.

Equally idiotic are those who would suggest Tiller’s murder was an act of justifiable homicide because of the doctor’s practice of terminating innocent lives in late-term abortions.

As sick as those actions are, to kill such practitioners–and he was only one of two doctors in the country who performed such abortions–is never justifiable in a nation committed to the rule of law. To defend Tiller’s death as justifiable is to invite vigilantism and chaos.

Roeder’s motives are still unclear but whatever they are, and if he is duly tried and convicted, he should be put to death for his actions. Twenty-four hours later, police have not connected him with any anti-abortion groups, most of which have expressed their shock and regret over the heinous crime.

That said, in defense of my personal inability to hope Tiller rests in peace, I could no more extend that wish than a Jewish individual could hope that the Nazi “Angel of Death,” Dr. Josef Mengele, rests peacefully in the hereafter. If any Jews are capable of that, I can only say they are exceedingly magnanimous and forgiving, much moreso than I.

Mengele may have been responsible for the torture and death of thousands at Auschwitz. Tiller bragged of having performed over 60,000 abortions at his “clinic,” mostly late term abortions killing viable, near-birth, fully-formed victims, some performed on girls who were minors.

Sotomayor and La Raza

Excellent cases can be made both for confirmation of Appeals Court Judge Sonia Sotomayor to the United States Supreme Court and for filibustering her into submission and ultimate withdrawal such as the Democrat minority did to George W. Bush’s pick for the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals, Judge Miguel Estrada.

It may be recalled that the eminently-qualified Estrada was eventually beaten down because of one serious flaw in his resume’. He was so abused that Estrada’s wife may have died shortly after as a consequence.

As with Sotomayor, he too had a compelling history and was a Hispanic nominee but unlike Sotomayor, he suffered from the terminal malady of unreconstructed conservativism and thus was totally unacceptable to fair-minded Senate liberals.

If they didn’t exactly “Bork” him, they trashed and distorted his record sufficiently to make the guy surrender in frustration. Estrada subsequently entered private practice.

Unlike Sotomayor, Estrada had no unseemly affiliations in his background, although some would allege that Sotomayor’s associations are quite seemly, especially that with La Raza.

This is all but moot anyway since Barack Obama’s choice to fill the shoes of David Souter is a shoo-in and, as I previously argued, it would be counterproductive and a waste of effort and ammunition to go after Sotomayor. What is worth further investigation, however, is La Raza, a group of which Sotomayor is a member and which proudly published her 2001 speech. Bloomberg Bristles!

Mayor Bloomberg and the Impertinence of Probing Questions

Serving as mayor of New York City has been called the second toughest job in the country, second only to the presidency.

That description of the Big Apple before it was the Big Apple was coined forty years ago by then-mayor John Lindsay, probably the city’s second-worst mayor in the twentieth century after Jimmy Walker.

Oddly for such a tough job, people seem to fight like hell to set up residence in Gracie Mansion. The current mayor, Michael Bloomberg, has declined to live there for reasons of his own, probably because it would be beneath his dignity.

A lifelong Democrat, zillionaire Bloomberg switched parties in 2001 and ran as a Republican, defeating the hapless Mark Green to succeed Rudy Giuliani, one of the best mayors in the city’s history. The new mayor effectively bought the mayoralty, the only way a candidate with an “R” after his name could hope to win in today’s NYC.

Giuliani was legally prohibited from running again due to New York’s term limits law. Such legalities posed no obstacles to Bloomberg.

Bloomberg was as much a Republican as Arlen Spector . . .

Teachers Are At It--Again!

Well, they’re at it again, as if they ever stopped.

WCBS-TV reported that yet another dedicated professional, a female teacher in a New York City intermediate school, Marissa Weber, was caught in flagrante delicto with a 14 year old (male) student. It’s alleged that 27 year old Ms. Weber trysted the afternoons away with the kid on some seven occasions between April and mid-May.

Had she not been apprehended in one of her acts, Marissa probably would have had a blissful summer with a kid half her age which, in itself, says a great deal about Marissa.

It’s not quite the rule but no longer even approximately the exception that, as can be seen from that 5-part series, school teachers are increasingly abusing their positions of authority and former respect by sexually abusing children. The practice can’t be said to be rampant but likewise it can no longer be considered rare.

Ms. Weber, it seems, was very aware of the consequences if not the iniquity of her assignations with a minor, cautioning him, “Don’t tell anyone. I could get arrested and I could lose my teaching license.” She apparently had no concern with losing her self-respect nor with taking carnal advantage of the boy.

Her final contact with him, after his mother discovered hundreds of messages from her on his cell phone, was a tad cryptic: “Erase your phone:” http://wcbstv.com/local/teacher.arrested.melissa.2.1023153.html.

Here’s a clue for Ms. Weber: You have a helluva lot more to lose than simply your license to teach. Try a few years in the slammer.

Few say it nowadays, but in our sexually-charged culture, underage male victims probably didn’t perceive himself as victimized. Obviously, police didn’t divulge the name of the boy nor specifics as to precisely what went on in Ms. Weber’s second floor classroom at IS/MS 8 in Queens, N.Y. aside from saying she had “sex with the teen seven times from mid-April to mid-May, all after school.”

The teen is no doubt feeling like the King of the May and is being lionized by his buddies. However, a quick look at the video of Ms. Weber being ignominiously hauled out of her school would suggest she had to have gotten the better end of the sick deal. Marissa looks like she’ll have a tough time finding a girlfriend at the Riker’s Island jail.

Across the Hudson, in Frankford, New Jersey, she may have had a comrade in the arms of another middle schooler. Lindsay Massaro, 23, is alleged to have had a week-long “relationship” with one of her students.

Massaro, a student teacher and a student at Centenary College in Hackettstown, N.J., “is traumatized by the charges and maintains her innocence,” according to her attorney: http://wcbstv.com/local/teacher.student.sex.2.974401.html.

No mention is made of any victim trauma and maintaining her innocence is more than Weber maintained so we should withhold judgement in this case. It could be a matter of a kid annoyed with his grades. It could also be retaliation for being rebuffed by Ms. Massaro. Kids sometimes read the papers, too. But she was arrested, which is indicative that the cops have some basis for charging her.

Back in New York, upstate this time in Binghampton, comes this sordid tale . . .
