Independence Day Reflections

Independence Day Reflections

America’s Founding Fathers were well aware that simply declaring our independence from the most powerful empire on the planet in 1776 was relatively easy.

They also knew that accomplishing that resolve could result in the loss of their lives, their fortunes, and their sacred honor and that it definitely would involve shedding a great deal of American blood, sweat, and tears, which the Revolutionary War proved all too correct.

How far we’ve fallen from that initial dedication to freedom at all costs, that commitment to independence from an oppressive government, that refusal to allow alien oppression to subvert our most fundamental, unalienable, human rights!

Today, the United States of America is confronted by threats of Islamic terrorist assaults on our soil during an ongoing war our commander in chief refuses to admit even exists. With the blessings of God, not Allah, we can and will defeat our enemy and then feel free to cringe and smirk at a religion that beheads anyone who doesn’t worship Allah and which believes women should be forbidden to be near bananas, cucumbers, carrots, and zucchinis to avoid sexual arousal.

We are also beset by nominal Americans who pose far worse threats to our survival than berserk Muslims insanely obsessed with vengeance for the Crusades, terminally distressed over Islam’s inability to evolve and so sexually and developmentally-arrested that it fears fruits and vegetables.

Nominal Americans represent the antithesis of the Founders.

Instead of uniting the nation, they are dedicated to divisiveness. Instead of praising our country, they demean it. Instead of defending and working to perfect America, they attack and ridicule it at every turn. . .

God and Obama

God and Obama

The nuns used to tell us we couldn’t understand God, information that wasn’t news to eight year olds since we often couldn’t understand the nuns, either.

Still, I eventually picked up on the concept that God was beyond understanding, much like arithmatic, and I accepted the principle of the existence of an Almighty Who, if He wasn’t watching every move we made or taking notes on every time I was impudent, was up there, somewhere, not taking written notes but aware.

Atheists aren’t beset by such mundane concerns since they don’t believe in the existence of any god, opting instead for the belief they and the universe weren’t created but rather are the products of happenstance. Chicken atheists, agnostics, believe only what Thomas the Doubting Apostle believed. They want proof, tantamount to insisting their Creator furnish irrefutable evidence of His existence before they subscribe.

Which brings us to Barack Hussein Obama and what he believes.

Few modern presidents have been overtly religious and many seem to have been “Christmas Christians,” men who visit churches on important occasions such as major religious holidays or for funerals of dignitaries.

Some, like Ike, hosted White House observances, others, like Bill Clinton, rarely if ever went to church and made no pretense of being regular attendees, and still others, notably Jimmy Carter, wore their religion on their sleeves right next to his incompetency pin.

None of this is meant to suggest that that a belief in God is a requisite for the position of president of the United States. It’s not mandated in the Constitution which was designed to permit any natural born citizen age 35 and up who has been a permanent resident for a minimum of 14 years to accede to the office of the presidency.

And, I’m not arguing the “birther” position with regard to Obama, though the jury is still out on that one, nor contending this chief executive’s penchant for vacationing overseas renders him ineligible for re-election because he’s still technically a permanent resident.

However, a president who has a clear aversion to references to Someone greater than he is should be questioned as to just exactly what he does believe.

Huma and the Tweeter

Huma and the Tweeter

It’s very much a rarity when a Jew takes a Muslim to wife. When the Jew is a well-connected congressman, Anthony David Weiner, and the Muslim is a well-connected Hillary-staffer, Huma Mahmood Abedin (هما محمود عابدين in Urdu), it’s an even greater rarity. When the Jew is self-exposed as a pervert less than a year after their nuptials while the Muslim is traveling the world, well, things could get sticky.

As new Weinergate reports keep pouring in, Huma returned home to D.C. The question now is whether she will stand by her man as her boss stood by Bubba in the face of sexual scandals before and during Clinton’s presidency or dump the disgraced congressman as his fellow Democrats are in process of doing.

It’s a tough call for the pregnant Mrs. Weiner. The latest revelations about Mr. Weiner won’t make that call any easier.

It seems the Master Tweeter has been one busy, little congressman sending texts and sexts and photos to all sorts of women and girls, including a former porn star. Ginger Lee alleged in a news conference that she and the Weinerman exchanged some hundred emails over the course of three months mostly discussing politics in which he often went off topic.

Represented by none other than the peripatetic leech and sleaze merchant Gloria Allred–which proves that poor Anthony is really in trouble now–Ms. Lee’s attorney read an emailed line from the proud Weiner: “I have wardrobe demands too. I need to highlight my package.” One assumes he wasn’t referring to a Fed-Ex delivery.

The context of the communication was not revealed but Ms. Lee insists she never reciprocated any sexual talk with Weiner . . .

Two Religions: Islam and Christianity

Two Religions: Islam and Christianity

Religion is an enigmatic concept, a dangerous, formidable enigmatic concept.

Broadly defined as”any specific system of belief about deity, often involving rituals, a code of ethics, and a philosophy of life,” termed “the opium of the people” by the Communist, Karl Marx, no matter its definition or twisted interpretations by atheists, virtually every human being on the planet professes a belief in one form or another of religion.

Yet, religion is and seemingly always will be the root of conflict.

In the not too distant past, religion in America, notably Christian religion, was a fundamental staple of life, before the raging winds of cultural and political changes relegated the belief systems to politically incorrect scrapheaps amidst an increasing amoralism, secular humanism, irreligionism, and nihilism fostered by political and social leaders.

That societal change is rendered most portentous by the relatively recent revivification of one of the world’s most prominent religions, Islam, which, in the name of its faith and 1.2 to 1.6 billion Muslim adherents worldwide and 2.8 to 10 million Muslims in America, has declared jihad, a religious war or struggle by radical and committed Islamists against non-Islamists.

Put bluntly, we are at war and we could lose.

With America’s religious guard down, if not buried, Mohammed Atta’s last words before the horrifically successful attacks of 9/11, “Allāhu Akbar (الله أكبر),” may be taken as the battle cry of Islam’s ultimate intifada against the West and they are attacking when we are the least morally prepared. Allah may not be the greatest but our god has been forgotten, if not abandoned.

Advantage: Allah.

This is not to suggest, either, that war is ever good nor that our god is necessarily superior to their god, although our god and his earthly delegates have invariably preached and striven for the right and the just, even as we mortals have often failed in those quests.

On the other hand, conquest, and death, and war and repression have never been the teachings of Christianity. They have long been standard operating dogma for Islam as promulgated by its holy prophet Muhammad ibn ‘Abdullāh since the seventh century and they are proven routes to at least temporary victory.

Advantage: Muhammad.

Religion alone will not save and preserve America and Western civilization from the Muslim onslaught, . . .
