Steve Jobs. May He R.I.P. and May FNC Continue to Celebrate His Life
The untimely death of Steven Paul “Steve” Jobs after a heroic battle against pancreatic cancer at the far too young age of 56 represents an incalculable loss for America and the world.
A technological, innovative genius who has been rightfully compared to Albert Einstein, Thomas Edison, even to Leonardo DaVinci, Jobs deserves all those accolades. He transformed how we communicate, compute, and think. He and the technological marvels he would have introduced will be sorely missed.
What won’t be missed is the politicizing of the circumstances of his birth.
Almost as unfortunate as his passing is the media’s studied effort, not to imagine a world without Steve Jobs’ countless contributions which imagining has been explored in depth, but not to imagine a world without Steve Jobs. He came close to never being born.
Fox News was the only member of the media to dare mention the proximity he came to being aborted fifty six years before his life began and Fox has been pilloried for that mention.
In brief, Jobs’ biological parents, Joanne Schieble, an American grad student and Abdulfattah John Jandali, a Syrian Muslim immigrant, didn’t want a child for a variety of reasons and considered aborting the future genius. They scrapped that option, also for a variety of reasons, and chose instead to place their baby for adoption. He was adopted and reared by Paul and Clara Jobs who encouraged his ingenuity. The rest is history.
That history cannot be refuted anymore than it can be refuted that had Joanne Schieble and Abdulfattah John Jandali decided aborting their baby wasn’t the proper path to follow. The extreme leftist organization, MediaMatters.com, differed, implicitly on the birth parents’ decision, explicitly on Fox News decision “to use his death to try to score political points.”
Two days after his death, in a snarky article titled, “In Steve Jobs Eulogy, Fox Tries to Score Political Points,” George Soros’ Media Matters didn’t precisely spell out which political points were scored on Fox’s “The Five” but presumably was suggesting that the contentious issue of abortion is a political issue.
Except to the left wing, abortion is no more a matter of politics than life itself. However, as conservative writer Ann Coulter has aptly pointed out, abortion is a virtual sacrament to liberals and anyone who disagrees with that disturbed view is an evil transgressor of political correctness.
“The Five” host Greg Gutfield evidently disagrees as does fellow panelist Kimberly Guilfoyle. Media Matters’ Solange Uwimana proceeded to score her own points . . .

Fox and Pew and You
An old friend who perceives himself a quasi-liberal since he and his family members have been labor unionists for generations once said to me, “Well, you get all your news from Fox News.” He had previously blamed Republicans for the election of Barack Hussein Obama because the GOP nominated lame John McCain.
That old union friend was wrong on the first count but probably right on the second.
The only rational explanation for Obama’s election in 2008 is no viable competition but when I do watch television news I split my time pretty equally with the left wing networks and Fox. Like they say, keep your friends close but your enemies closer, an aphorism which could be extended to the much less catchy but equivalently-insightful, Watch the truth compliments of your friends and keep your eye on the prevaricators.
As reported by the Fox News Channel in article titled, “Pew: Fox News Channel America’s No. 1 Source for TV News,” a survey conducted in July by the highly-reputable Pew Research Center revealed that 19% of respondents indicated they learned what’s going on in the nation and the world from the FNC. . .

Ok, I freely admit I can't compete with Variety in rhyming or alliterating headlines but nevertheless the stats are in and one mo' time the conservative-leaning Fox News Network, FNC, trounced the leftist-leaning MSNBC, CNN, and other liberal, cable networks in viewership.
That's no surprise since first, "liberal" and "cable" are largely redundant and, second, FOX dominance has been the prevailing trend for years. Nevertheless, the new numbers published on Drudge.com are startling:

It seems the mass of semi-literate, ignoramuses affiliated with the Tea Party and other radical conservative movements, those terrorists, as Joe Biden calls them, actually do have cable connections rather than aluminum, antennaed hats and choose to watch the fair and balanced reporting on FOX with its liberal representation in the persons of Juan Williams, Bob Beckle, Kirsten Powers and others.
They somehow seem turned off by the twisted perspectives of the tingler Matthews and the sacrosanct O'Donnell, the phony Brit Morgan, the gaiety of Cooper and Maddow, the race-baiting of Sharpton, and the vapidness of Grace. . .

Practical chicken and egg farmers have long known that foxes aren’t welcome visitors to hen houses since they tend to eat the chickens and gobble up eggs as well. Likewise, Fox News Channel isn’t very welcome in the Obama White House, not because FNC likes chickens and eggs but because it tends to eat its denizens alive by exposing this White House to something it isn’t accustomed to, the truth.
Fox isn’t predatory like foxes unless you’re an Obamian, in which case exposure is deemed predation. For years, Democrats have battled that illusory predation by overtly and covertly trying to undermine Fox and the Obama White House has now taken that effort to a whole new level of snarkiness.
The latest truth about White House antipathy–and gut fear–of FNC has been outed thanks to Judicial Watch and the most despised law in the Obama book, the Freedom of Information Act, FOIA.
Judicial Watch succeeded in securing copies of 81 pages of White House email correspondence sent in a single month, October 2009, less than 270 days into the Obama reign. God only knows what they have been thinking, writing, and saying over the course of the subsequent 20 months but the October 2009 record reveals them to be a paranoid, hateful slew of Obamacrats.

Demonstrating to the world one mo’ time that he is not a Muslim but rather a devout Christian, Obama and family joined the flock at the predominantly black Shiloh Baptist Church in Northwest Washington for Easter morning services.
His attendance at Shiloh was something of a surprise since he hadn’t bothered to issue an Easter proclamation. He may have felt he had that base covered in view of the White House prayer breakfast he hosted last Tuesday although he had made certain to issue proclamations in recognition of Earth Day, Hannukah, and every major Muslim religious holiday including Ramadan, Eid-al-Fitr, Hajj, and Eid-al-Adha.
Oh, well, he did permit a White House Easter egg roll which must count for something. Christians have learned to thank God for small blessings from this Christian president.
Unfortunately, the service at Shiloh wasn’t filmed or recorded, unfortunate because Shiloh’s pastor, Wallace Smith, is a racial agitator and it would have been informative to hear his Easter sermon.

America’s liberal mainstream media, long accustomed to virtually absolute dominance of both print and the airwaves, was initially unperturbed when Rush Limbaugh arrived on the scene in 1984 and it ho-hummed the inauguration of the Fox News Channel on cable barely 14 years ago since it had a steel grip on what ideas and news were disseminated for public consumption.
No more.
Since Limbaugh’s amazing success and the growth of conservative talk radio in general and, especially since Fox has galloped so far ahead of CNN, MSNBC and other leftist cable channels that the MSM can barely see its haunches in the distance, mainstreamers have grown, in turn, wary, concerned and recently apoplectic over the loss of its previous monopolistic control over what people hear, see, and think.
Of course, they still have a lock on televised news via ABC, CBS, and NBC and public radio with NPR but those networks are in rapid decline much like the New York Times. Unlike the Times, they may survive as minimalist news sources with their little niche of viewers who don’t have or want cable and listeners who prefer to be force-fed pap by NPR.
However, leftwingers aren’t about to surrender to Fox, yet.
In fact, at least one influential member of that media has now declared war, an all-out campaign of “guerrilla warfare and sabotage” against the Fox News Network which has morphed into an enemy rather than a competitor. Even worse, it’s an alleged arm of the Republican Party and that can no longer be tolerated nor will contentions the Democrats have owned the MSM for decades.

Election Reflections
Election Reflections
The bride and I were sitting around watching Greta on Sunday night on the Fox News Channel which was a bit of a novelty.
Our sitting around watching Greta Van Susteren at 10 p.m. EST wasn’t all that much of a novelty since we sometimes do check in to see what she has to say although I usually opt for a “CSI” or a “Law and Order” episode. The novelty involved the fact that she was on-air, on-cable, on a weekend since she’s usually a Mon-Fri commentator.
So, too, were FNC’s gorgeous, blond personalities Jenna Lee and Megyn Kelly putting in overtime this past weekend, young ladies whose only reporting fault is that they tend to make many male viewers less interested in what they’re saying than in who’s saying it.
But, I digress, and I didn’t even mention Shannon Bream!
It seems there were quite a few other FNC-ers who were doing the O.T. bit two days before the midterm election and I suspect the staff at CNN, MSNBC, and other liberal cable channels, where the pulchritude doesn’t come close to Fox, were doing likewise.
But, I digress again.
I do often watch CNBC for stock and financial updates and CNN, not for news but to see what the enemy is up to.
So, what’s the point of all this jabbering about beautiful women by a senior dude, jabbering I defend to the bride with the time-honored understanding that when guys stop looking they’re dead? The point is, as any American not in an ICU ward or in a drug- or alcohol-induced stupor should know, that November 2nd is easily the most significant day to occur for Americans in at least two years.
More precisely, Election Day may just be the most important day in Americans’ lives, in America’s life, in a century . . .

Mel Gibson and "Edge of Darkness"
Mel Gibson and “Edge of Darkness”
Variously rated as a 55% to 60% by “the critics,” this non-professional movie critic assigns Mel Gibson’s Edge of Darkness a qualified 3 1/4 stars or about 85%.
The movie is somewhat derivative of many previous kid-gets-killed/hurt/kidnapped/lost and dad-seeks-revenge/return of kid and it’s based on an old Brit telly series but, after all is said and done, it does feature Mel Gibson in the starring role.
I’ll leave the detailed reviews and spoilers to others more able than I, although the reader is cautioned to vet the reviewer before believing anything she or he writes or says.
Believe it or not, sometimes movie reviews are determined by the sociopolitical beliefs of the reviewer as much as by the content and quality of the film.
Think Gibson’s 2004 The Passion of the Christ
That very controversial, exceedingly graphic and violent film, was roundly panned with one star or no stars at all and scored an overall rating of 47%-50% mainly because it was interpreted by some as anti-Semitic and condemned by Jewish groups such as B’nai B’rith.
If anything, it was anti-Roman and anti-Italian and should have been criticized by the Sons of Italy, although it wasn’t. What it was was a billion dollar blockbuster at the box office and in DVD sales.
The charges of anti-semitism levelled at Gibson as a result of his July, 2006 drunken encounter with police ratcheted up a DUI a major scandal. He conceded his intemperate and biased . . .

Reich, or Reisshhh as Rush Limbaugh calls him, is so consumed by vile, sick venom that he sees a Fox under every bed. Not a red fox or a Megan Fox or a Redd Fox but that most vicious of all foxes, the Fox News Channel.
Now, Mr. Reich is a brilliant man, or so we’re told. We’re also told Paul Krugman is a brilliant man, Barack Obama is a brilliant man, and Bill Clinton is a brilliant man. In fact, just about all liberals are brilliant men, even VP Joe Biden who manages to conceal his remarkable brilliance better than most.
Mr. Reich, writer, politician, academic, political commentator, and multi-degreed professor currently serving in the belly of the beast, UC Berkeley, suffers from the tunnel vision that afflicts most lefties, the tunnel vision that sees only the skewed liberal perspective, a redundancy.
