The Advantages of Having Friends in High Places
Call them friends in high places or connections or contacts, knowing people with influence in positions to grease the skids for jobs, perks, or to just plain help you out is an inestimable advantage in America. In turn, when political friends come through, it translates into votes for the politicians.
Forget qualifications, education, merit, or need. Nothing is more beneficial than knowing someone with some pull to get you what you want. And, who has more pull than the current resident of the White House?
Unions have been calling in their chits ever since they blindly–or not so blindly, considering the benefits they reaped– supported the passage of the Obamacare abomination. They have been reaping ever since in the form of wholesale waivers from the onerous burdens of the Democrat-sponsored 2009 Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, the law VP Biden called “a big f*cking deal.”
Over the last six months alone, 543,812 union members have joined federal employees, Congress, and the president in being exempted from Obamacare, a number dwarfed by the millions of unionistas granted exemptions prior to last June when Obamians allegedly turned off the exemption spigot after it came under public scrutiny.

Reliable friends in high places may retreat but, if they’re truly dependable and know where their bread is buttered and with an election approaching, they continue their friendship.
Other deep-dyed Friends of Obama are his huge cadre of federal employees.
Their president saw fit to cut tens of thousands from the ranks of America’s military, forces missioned to defend and protect the nation, yet found it within his generous heart in the midst of the Great Recession to propose a salary increase for federal workers.
Albeit a modest raise of 0.5%, it’s far more than America’s millions of unemployed and underemployed will receive. Before their raise, the average civilian federal worker was raking in $75,296 plus benefits valued at $28,323 versus average $46,326 salaries and vanishing bennies in the private sector.
Now the people who don’t answer their phones in Washington will be getting a few thou extra to not answer their phones.
The 1939 Hatch Act prohibited federal employees from engaging in partisan political activities, a restriction lifted in 1993 after three union leaders were accused of violations. The result? Federal employes are no longer precluded from contributing to political campaigns or from working on behalf of their favorite politicians.
Who was it called them civil servants? They’re more like a civilian army under the command of the man who pays them.
In addition to that army of 2.1 worker bees and his union armies of millions more, a third contingent of those owing a deep debt of gratitude to their executive friend in the Oval Office is the Gay Lobby.

Yet another installment from the You Can’t Make This Stuff Up Department: Sgt. Bilko may soon marry Pvt. Gomer Pyle and they may have a threesome with Arnold, the “Green Acres” pig or with Mr. Ed!
The Internet is notorious for publishing and publicizing lies, innuendo, fabrications, in a word, trash, okay, two words, trash and crap. It’s therefore incumbent on a serious blogger to verify outrageous stories before commenting on them and spreading the news.
One such story demanded more verification than usual since it involved an allegation that was so far beyond the pale of belief it bordered on the absurdly incomprehensible. As it turns out, very regrettably, the report is no longer an allegation but fact: The United States Senate has voted to approve the practice of bestiality in the military.
That is not a misprint.
Should the House of Representatives concur with the Senate and President Barack Hussein Obama sign the bill, men and women in Amrica’s armed forces will be free to engage in sexual relations with dogs, cats, chickens, horses, or with any other animal without fear of retribution under the Uniform Code of Military Justice.
The repercussions of the repeal of the Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell law governing homosexual conduct in the military advocated by the president and endorsed by liberals everywhere have now come home to roost.

All that aside, and it shouldn’t be put too far aside in view of the unremitting campaign by gays, lesbians, bi-sexuals, and trans-sexuals to convince America of their normality, it’s a whole new day for the armed forces of the United States of America! Gays are usually focused on children but this new day celebrates adults.
After extensive studies and a manipulated survey of the troops, despite vehement objections and compelling evidence contradicting the survey’s validity, as of September 20th, 2011 homosexuals will be permitted to openly serve in the Army, Navy, Marines and Coast Guard.
As Army Lieutenant Colonel Robert Maginnes (Ret.) pointed out, the “consequences could be significant, but the American public has no clue because because the 111th Democrat-controlled Congress repealed the ban [on gays in our military] in a “lame-duck” session without hearing a single dissenting view.”
That ban, that law, 10 U.S.C. § 654, aka the Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell policy, in place for 18 years ever since Bill Clinton followed the advice of Dick Morris and pushed for its passage in 1993 in order to appear a moderate on the issue, had grated on the homosexual community for almost two decades.
With Republicans slated to take control of the House of Representatives in 2011, gays knew it was time to call in all their Democrat chits and Democrat supporters so they could “integrate” the armed forces with homosexuals.
Maginnes, who now serves as a media national security adviser/analyst, detailed the not-unforeseen, not-unintended but ignored realities, consequences, and potential repercussions of repealing DADT in ”Congress Ignored Perils of Lifting Military’s Gay Ban.”
Primary ignored realities are the majority opposition from the troops, high rates of STDs among homosexuals, and the inherent pitfalls of gays showering and bunking with same-gender personnel, the equivalent of men and women sharing baths and bedrooms.
The consequences of that ignorance should have been apparent even to politicians, even to Democrat politicians. But there are more . . .

When any governmental entity is involved, the line between intended and unintended consequences can be extremely fine, indeed.
Take, for example, the consequences of the repeal of the military’s DADT, the Don’t Ask Don’t Tell policy which required homosexuals in the Armed Services not to advertise their sexual inclinations in return for the military’s not inquiring, inquiries which could have resulted in their expulsion.
After extensive study of the deleterious effects outed gays would have on our troops and despite widespread opposition from Marines and combat forces in general, military powers-that-be in the Pentagon–predominantly ambitious officers who wouldn’t want to be perceived as opposing political directives–are set to officially lift the gay ban next month.
If gay agitators get their way, acceptance of homosexuals, turning blind eyes to their proclivities, not “telling” on them will not only become politically passe’ but de rigueur in the services via active recruitment.
The intended consequences being strategized by the LGBT set probaby isn’t exactly what the military intended.
According to the Washington Times, ”An underground gay group in the military wants recruiters to reach out to the gay community in the same way they target blacks, Hispanics and women.” The group, Outserve, representing some 4,000 homosexuals currently serving, is planning what the Times calls a “coming out party” in October in Vegas and wants the military to be on hand.
As one still-closeted Air Force officer put it, “The DoD regularly attends public events to recruit, and we believe they should be at Pride events next year around the country to let the gay community know the opportunities to serve their nation.” As one conservative commentator sees the agitation, it’s all part and parcel of what gay activists do: Push the envelope to the breaking point.
Robert Knight keenly observed, “No one should be surprised at what will be an increasingly shrill set of demands to use the military as an endorsing agency for homosexual activism.” . . .

The eminently-transparent President Barack Hussein Obama has never attempted to conceal his eminently-obvious predilection toward the homosexual community, one of his staunchest constituencies–except during election cycles.
In 2008, he devoutly–ok, not devoutly but straightforwardly–professed his belief in the sanctity–ok, not the sanctity but the tradition–of marriage as an institution involving the union of one man and one woman, pretty much what most voters and most rational people on the planet believed.
Admittedly and to his credit, candidate Obama did publicly pledge to his gay friends that he would push for repeal of a related tradition, the Bill Clinton policy of the military not asking homosexuals if they were homosexual and homosexuals not saying they were homosexuals, better known as Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell or DADT.
President Obama and his lame duck Democrat congress succeeded in pushing through a repeal of DADT amid congressional chaos last December and gays were happy and gay, but not satisfied. That other gay-repugnant Clinton law, the 1996 Defense of Marriage Act, aka DOMA, remained on the books and homosexuals demanded it be removed.
Now, relatively few gays are militaristic and I’m guessing even fewer personally give much of damn whether homosexuals in the Army, Navy, Marines, and Coast Guard can’t be asked and can’t say what their sexual proclivities are but they insisted DADT be repealed on principle, the principle being they wanted their way.
They got it, even if the military–as fully anticipated–still has no clue on how to implement gay integration into the armed forces. Military and has petitioned for and has been accorded more time to effect implementation of the new policy.
Next on the gay agenda is dumping DOMA, . . .

Complements to Gay Marriage and Gay Pride
It seems only appropriate to complement, not compliment, Friday’s passage of New York State’s deceptively-titled Marriage Equality Act and Sunday’s New York City’s Gay Pride Parade with some related news stories, one equally-bizarre.
For those unaware–and you really should try to keep up–New York’s Democrat Governor Andrew Cuomo late Friday eagerly affixed his signature to a law passed overwhelmingly by Democrat legislators, with aid, comfort, and votes furnished by four Republicans, which grants official approval for men to wed men, women to marry women, and God only knows what else in the Empire State.
The timing couldn’t have been better for homosexuals since passage of the law coincides with the annual Gay Pride Week culminating on Sunday with a parade which wrapped up in Greenwich Village where the gay liberation movement began.
As of this writing, news coverage on the parade is just coming in and what’s hit the MSM wires and local tv channels are the usual sanitized reports devoid of what goes on at such parades plus heaps of adulation poured on Cuomo for his coverage. The governor marched this year to much applause in preparation for his guaranteed run for the presidency in 2016 after locking up 2% of the electorate, the gay vote.
If the festivities were anything like previous gay parades and, after Democrats got their way and passed the Marriage Equality Act only days before, the parade probably surpassed homosexual excesses of the past.
Those excesses and what follows give added credibility to Archbishop Timothy Dolan’s dire analysis that the new law threatens “the cornerstones of civilization.”

I would never accuse retiring Secretary of Defense Robert Gates as being a hate-monger nor of harboring animus toward our country and America’s troops. However,, Gates does seem to suffer from a bad case of political correctness.
The scholarly Gates has served our nation long and well as Deputy National Security Adviser, CIA Director, Defense Secretary under two presidents, and has received numerous awards for his service, including the Presidential Citizens Medal.
All that said, Robert Gates can also be a nitwit as he showed during his farewell visit to America’s fighting men and women in the Mideast.
Addressing Marines in Afghanistan, Gates opened the forum to a Q&A which, in retrospect, I’m guessing he regretted. He was put into an apparently untenable position by a Marine sergeant who forced him to either tow the Obama administration line or to speak his mind with respect to gays in the military after the lame duck Democrat congress repealed Bill Clinton’s 17 year old “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” policy.
I’m also guessing his mind but, whatever he really thinks, his response was beyond lame, if not ignorant.
Although Gates hasn’t shared his future plans with me, I suspect that at 67 he’s not quite ready to hit the links for the rest of his life and instead may have his eye on a job as military expert on CNN or even on FNC, although his response to that sergeant would seem to better qualify him for CNN than at Fox News.
In the interests of preserving that sergeant’s already imperiled career in the increasingly PC Marines, his name will not be divulged here. He very politely and articulately commented, “Sir, we joined the Marine Corps because the Marine Corps has a set of standards and values that is better than that of the civilian sector. And we have gone and changed those values and repealed the ‘Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell’ policy.”
The Marine then dropped his fair and reasonable, bombshell question: “We have not given the Marines a chance to decide whether they wish to continue serving under that. Is there going to be an option for those Marines that no longer wish to serve due to the fact their moral values have not changed?" . . .

Homosexuals and their supporters are nothing if not indefatigable, and devious. Since Obama became president, they’ve grown even more relentless in their pursuit of acceptance by the straight world and they’re succeeding by virtual gazelle leaps.
With the Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell Act killed by the the lame duck Democrat Congress last session–and the Defense of Marriage Act in its death throes by executive fiat–implementation of the military’s new policy of tolerance of homosexual behavior has begun, starting with indoctrinating commanding officers and working its way down to the grunts.
Even the Marine Corps, whose commandant had voiced strong opposition to repealing DADT, has caved. Bible-believing chaplains are bearing the brunt of the responsibility of explaining why the government is right and the Bible is wrong. Gay Marines hugging and kissing will now be considered as acceptable and “appropriate:” http://bit.ly/hqSOuc
The appropriateness of other homosexual practices and whether engaging in them during combat has yet to be addressed.
With their right to subvert the military now ensured, homosexuals are now able to focus on their primary interest, converting the young to believing that the gay lifestyle is nothing more or less than a variation on the norm, if not more normal than normal.
They’ve learned Communism’s lesson well, to get them while they’re young.
Of late, in order to end run around increasing awareness of their aims, they’ve also learned to cloak their schemes with the mantle of school lessons in health to get kids attuned to sexual body parts and to attune them early. After all, sexualizing kids young is advantageous when you later try to pervert their sexuality.

Homosexuals and their supporters are nothing if not indefatigable, and devious. Since Obama became president, they’ve grown even more relentless in their pursuit of acceptance by the straight world and they’re succeeding by virtual gazelle leaps.
With the Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell Act killed by the the lame duck Democrat Congress last session–and the Defense of Marriage Act in its death throes by executive fiat–implementation of the military’s new policy of tolerance of homosexual behavior has begun, starting with indoctrinating commanding officers and working its way down to the grunts.
Even the Marine Corps, whose commandant had voiced strong opposition to repealing DADT, has caved. Bible-believing chaplains are bearing the brunt of the responsibility of explaining why the government is right and the Bible is wrong. The appropriateness of other homosexual practices and whether engaging in them during combat has yet to be addressed.
With their right to subvert the military now ensured, homosexuals are now able to focus on their primary interest, converting the young to believing that the gay lifestyle is nothing more or less than a variation on the norm, if not more normal than normal.
They’ve learned Communism’s lesson well, to get them while they’re young.
Of late, in order to end run around increasing awareness of their aims, they’ve also learned to cloak their schemes with the mantle of school lessons in health to get kids attuned to sexual body parts and to attune them early. After all, sexualizing kids young is advantageous when you later try to pervert their sexuality.

Thanks to IOwntheWorld.com, Spooftimes.com–and the repeal of the Pentagon’s Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell policy–rumor has it that “the United States First Homosexual Division, the Fighting Sodomites,” will soon be deploying to Afghanistan.

Frederick Gotthold Enslin for ‘attempting to commit sodomy’ with another soldier,” an act the future commander-in-chief regarded with “abhorrence and detestation.”
It’s not clear how Gotthold got hold of the other soldier but “Enslin’s dismissal came less than two weeks after another soldier, Ensign Anthony Maxwell, was acquitted of the charge of ‘propagating a scandalous report prejudicial to the character of Lt. Enslin. ‘ “ Apparently, that charge was true and verifiable.
Times, they really do change.
Two hundred thirty-two years later at the signing ceremony for repeal of DADT, Vice President Joe Biden didn’t quite say it was “a big f*cking deal” but he was no less efusive: “It’s a good day. It’s a real good day. . . Mr. President, by signing this bill, you will be linking military might with an abiding sense of justice. Whether it represents justice or uncertainty, homosexuals are beyond giddy in some instances over the long-awaited, long-Obama-promised repeal of Bill Clinton’s cure-all for inclusion of outed gays in the United States’ military, the misbegotten policy of “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell,” unaffectionately known as DADT.
Bubba’s sop to his homosexual supporters essentially boiled down to a policy of advising gays to keep their sexual inclinations to themselves and instructing their military superiors not to ask how personnel got off sexually as long as they didn’t overtly get off in mess halls, barracks, shower rooms, foxholes, etc.
The repeal of Bill Clinton’s 17 year old policy of DADT was an insult to our millions of heterosexual men and women in the armed forces and an insult to the intelligence of the American people who are being led to believe that our military will be able to continue to function as it should and must.
DADT was a farce from the beginning. Its repeal could be farcical catastrophe.
The lopsided, Democrat sponsored repeal vote of 65-31 in the Senate was assured after the Pentagon released the results of its extended study/poll of those in the military and their families which allegedly, unexpectedly, showed that 70% had no problem with gays serving openly. That conclusion depends in large part on who counted and who interpreted the votes and why those “respondents [who] answered unfavorably or remain uncertain” were ignored.

In any event, Pfc. Manning was of no mind to wait to see how the tally went. He was royally pissed at the world in general and the military and America in particular and elected to wage his own, private war.
In an expectedly-sympathetic piece on “the early struggles” of Pfc. Manning, the New York Times reveals that Manning was bullied as a kid, “bullied” being the latest buzzword to gain reader attention.
It seems that young Brad’s gaiety blossomed early and visibly and his fellow students taunted him about it during his years growing up with his mother in her native southwest Wales, taunting which complemented the bullying he received in his Crescent, Oklahoma years with his father when he was harassed “for being a geek.”
The latter just may have been related to his refusal to recite ”under God” in the “Pledge of Allegiance,” or maybe not.
Even with his angelic, baby-faced look, but keeping in mind that Lucifer, too, was once an angel, poor Bradley couldn’t catch a break wherever he went until he went into the U.S. Army where he hit upon his sure-fire solution for getting even with America for his perceived maltreatment, and his failures in life and in the Army.
After falling in love with the love of his life, a “self-described drag queen,” according to the Times, he felt he had “been isolated so long, But events kept forcing me to figure out ways to survive:” http://tiny.cc/zjyii
He didn’t spell out those events but his survival skills led him to decide to steal secret government documents by the hundreds of thousands and to transmit them to the equally-disturbed Julian Assange at WikiLeaks. The rest is history.

Barack Hussein Obama is by far the most gay-friendly president in America’s history.
PoliticsDaily.com, a liberal website, reports that,”President Barack Obama has already named more gay men and lesbians to administration positions than any White House. . . Obama has appointed 150 gays to high-level slots at agencies, commissions, and White House staff positions compared to 140 named by President Clinton during the entire eight years of his presidency:” http://tiny.cc/9vwsg
That’s a prodigious number considering that Obama has only been in office for 21 months and considering that homosexuals comprise a mere 2% of America’s population.
It would seem that America’s gays have gotten more than a very equitable shake from this president, including having gays such as Kevin Jennings, Assistant Deputy Secretary for Safe and Drug-Free Schools, in very high positions. The Jennings’ appointment was tantamount to naming John Gotti as Chief Investigator of the Mafia.
Nevertheless, gays,an Obama prime constituency, third in the faithful line after African-Americans and union members, aren’t as pleased with him as one might suppose.
He captured their vote in 2008 based on his pledges to do their bidding on issues such as repealing the military’s “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell,” (DADT), policy, a policy dating back to Bill Clinton’s first year as president, and promising to get rid of that dastardly Defense of Marriage Act, (DOMA), another Clinton law which basically gave a federal imprimatur to the all but universal understanding that marriage is a sacred compact between one man and one woman.
The gay lobby viewed both DADT and DOMA as discriminatory even as most of America viewed them as very reasonable and very proper.
Despite bending over backwards to satisfy his many gay friends–and that’s not a reference to any gay sex maneuvers!–Obama hasn’t as yet gotten his rubber-stamp congress to repeal DADT or DOMA.
In the collective and impatient homosexual mind, therefore, he hasn’t done nearly enough for them. And they’re letting him know about their thinking . . .

As the Senate prepares to consider repeal of the 1993 “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” (DADT) policy and allow homosexuals to serve openly in the armed forces, a senior military official expressed his imperious–and odd–views on the issue.
Lt. Gen. Thomas P. Bostick, the Army’s deputy chief of staff in charge of personnel matters, drew parallels between the civil rights movement and the effort to repeal DADT. He condemned those who favor retention of DADT, those who oppose the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender agenda, as racists who should forthwith be drummed out of the military.
More specifically, Bostick, a black officer, said that, “Unfortunately, we have a minority of service members who are still racists and bigoted and you will never be able to get rid of all of them. But these people opposing this new policy will need to get with the program, and if they can’t, they need to get out. No matter how much training and education of those in opposition, you’re always going to have those that oppose this on moral and religious grounds just like you still have racists today.”
If I understand those statements correctly, anyone who opposes repealing DADT is the equivalent of George Wallace, Bull Connor, and David Duke because they fear the negative impact of repeal on our military and believe repeal would be morally repugnant.
According to the general, if you harbor moral and religious objections, it’s just too damned bad. Just sit down, shut up, and keep your opinions to yourself or get out. The United States Army will brook no opposition.
General Bostick would seem better suited to running a gulag than tending to personnel matters.

Politicos are very adept at changing course, denying, and outright lying when it comes to the fine art of retraction. The technique may be described as clarification but always involves backpedaling, spinning, and/or reinterpreting what had been said or done earlier.
NASA. Space or Politics: NASA chief Charles Bolden caused a brouhaha last month when he re-defined the mission of our space agency by telling the Arab language newspaper, al Jazzera, that his “perhaps foremost” priority was outreach to the Muslim community thereby standing on its head NASA’s long-established mission of space exploration.

That mission seemed eminently reasonable considering that NASA is an acronym for the National Aeronautics and Space Administration.
White House head flack Robert Gibbs gently reminded Bolden that he was wrong, that he had misspoken and “That [reaching out to Muslims] was not his task and that’s not the task of NASA.”
However, Charles Bolden is not a dumb bunny and didn’t unilaterally take it upon himself to change the mission of his agency: He was directed to do so by none other than his boss, President Barack Hussein Obama, . . .

DADT Survey Boycott: It’s no secret that the military considers the repeal of Bill Clinton’s Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell (DADT) policy toward gays in the military to be the worst idea to come down the pike since women were allowed in combat.
With a few notable exceptions, such as Admiral Mike Mullen, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff who endorsed the idea with the caveat that policy changes should be contingent on military review, our armed services consider repeal of DADT would be detrimental to their mission, morale, and effectiveness.
DADT simply restricts superior officers from investigating or asking if service members are gay and restricts gay service members from advertising that fact.
Both before and after the last election, Barack Obama pledged to repeal DADT and allow homosexuals to serve openly and has been vigorously agitating for that repeal to fulfill that pledge to a major constituency. Such repeal would be a political and social change visited on the military without regard for its consequences.
In an effort to complete Admiral Mullins’ policy review on those consequences, Defense Secretary Robert Gates has authorized a survey on the thoughts of service members on the issue.
Having already surveyed the families of service members on their thoughts, Gates felt it reasonable to consult the 400,000 random opinions of those who would be forced to serve next to outed gays.
The survey forms had barely hit the mailboxes when a homosexual group, the Servicemembers Legal Defense Network, called it biased and instructed gays not to participate for fear of being outed saying, ”At this time SLDN cannot recommend that lesbian, gay, or bisexual service members participate in any survey being administered by the Department of Defense, the Pentagon Working Group or any third-party contractors:” http://tiny.cc/ywp2z
Their reasoning is obvious. They want to discredit a survey that asks straightforward answers to questions such as: “If Don’t Ask, Don’t tell is repealed and you are working with a Service member in your immediate unit who has said he or she is gay or lesbian, how would that affect your own ability to fulfill your mission during combat?” . . .

Their reasoning is obvious. They want to discredit a survey that asks straightforward answers to questions such as: “If Don’t Ask, Don’t tell is repealed and you are working with a Service member in your immediate unit who has said he or she is gay or lesbian, how would that affect your own ability to fulfill your mission during combat?” . . .

Words of Truth
Words of Truth
They may not go down in history as the equivalent of Patrick Henry’s “Give me liberty or give me death” or JFK’s “Ask not what your country can do for you . . .” but a few recent public statements are notable if not as quotable.
Environmental activist and actor Harrison Ford came out with a good two-liner this past week in response to a question about his ownership of 7 aircraft and whether that fact was a contradiction of his green credentials.
Without batting an eye, he quipped that if any conservationists criticize him for his planes, “They’re quite right. I’ll start walking everywhere when they start walking everywhere.”
While conceding that general aviation does contribute to air pollution, he later added the obvious about his seven planes, “I only fly one of them at a time:” http://tiny.cc/c8vj7
Ford seems to be a rara avis, a Hollywood green with a sense of humor who can give as well as take. Calista should be very proud of him.
Far less entertaining is the revelation by retired Army chaplain Arthur Schultz . . .

Scenario Number One: The USMC and DADT
Ok, you’re a normal, healthy male with normal, healthy appetites and volunteer to become one of the few and the proud. You sign up for the United States Marine Corps–not “corpse,” Mr. President. You’re assigned to Camp Lejeune to endure the rigors of boot camp and find yourself bunking next to a Megan Fox lookalike recruit.
Healthy or not, that wouldn’t be a healthy environment for any jarhead, least of all an impressionable 19 year old expecting to survive boot camp.
That’s a variation on the scenario Marine Corps’ commandant General James Conway wants to avoid if and when Bill Clinton’s Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell, (DADT), policy regarding gays in the military is repealed. The difference would be that the normal healthy male would effectively become the Megan to the homosexual(s) in the next bunk(s). . .

Don't Ask, Don't Yell!
“Don’t Ask, Don’t Yell”
Gays don’t like it and the military likes it even less. I refer to Bill Clinton’s cop out, “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” (DADT) policy for homosexuals in the military. That coda is about to change into “Leave Me Alone and Stay Outta My Face,” should Obama get his way.
Clinton’s DADT compromise stated that “homosexual orientation alone is not a bar to service, but homosexual conduct is incompatible with military service.” In other words, no one will ask about your sexual orientation and gays should feel free to serve their country but should not feel free to flout or advertise their sexuality.
That’s pretty reasonable, I think.
It’s important to realize that essentially the same policy applies to heterosexual behavior in that public, publicized promiscuous activities between consenting males and females in the military is discouraged and could result in punishment by military authorities.
Heterosexual activities are not usually punishable by discharge, however, nor is “telling” about it, . . .
