Ethical Lapses at PSU, Ethical Void in D.C.
A course in ethics was a requisite for a B.A. at Fordham University in the 1960′s and I have to confess I probably semi-slept through it.
It’s apparent that Ethics 101 either wasn’t required at Penn State University or that Nittany Lions coaches also slept through it. Meanwhile, in Washington, President Barack Hussein Obama has made such a farce of ethics in the federal government it’s hard to believe he understands the meaning of the word.
Ethics was a tough subject although its essence can be reduced to the study of moral principles and their applicability to rules of conduct.
Dictionary.com provides a more detailed definition: “That branch of philosophy dealing with values relating to human conduct, with respect to the rightness and wrongness of certain actions and to the goodness and badness of the motives and ends of such actions.”
In turn, that definition can be summarized to doing the right thing just because it is the right thing to do.
Many wrongs are associated with recently-publicized events at PSU. Some may be termed ethical lapses of omission. They include Coach Joe Paterno’s failure to notify law enforcement authorities, university administrators covering up perfidious behavior, and Coach Mike McQueary’s grossly negligence in not interceding on behalf of a 10 year old boy being raped in a school shower room.
The most profound ethical failures committed have been attributed to Coach Jerry Sandusky, illegalities and moral tupitude which allegedly continued for some 15 years, from his initial molestations of young boys to McQueary’s witnessing Sandusky violating the ten year old.
Both Sandusky and McQueary are Penn State graduates but so too are the other 557,000 alumni of that immense and still great school. A few rotten apples can spoil a barrelful but a handful can’t spoil an outstanding university. Now that they have been exposed, they will be prosecuted and victims will be compensated even if that compensation can never wipe clear the memories of what they suffered.
Similarly, an unethical American president can stink up the White House but he can’t spoil a nation.
Obama and the administration he leads have been caught in numerous ethical breaches but, thanks to his mainstream media and stonewalling lackeys, so far they have gotten away with such breaches and only time will tell whether they ultimately ”come home to roost,” to quote his pastor of 20 years. . .

The Trials of PSU
It’s been said that “Scandal is what one half of the world takes pleasure inventing, and the other half in believing.” That observation applies in spades to the ongoing scandal at Penn State University except for the fact those pleasuring in the PSU scandal have been woefully misdirected.
For inexplicable reasons, many people hate Penn State, perhaps for its immense size, its influence, or its football team.
Someone actually published a currently out of print screed on the subject titled, I Hate Penn State: 303 Reasons Why You Should, Too, a screed which may experience a revival in the wake of the events of the past six days in University Park, PA, regrettable events rapidly turning Happy Valley into an unhappy lowland.
It’s very evident neither the PSU child sex scandal nor its repercussions were invented and, at this point, the crimes against children and nature committed by former Nittany Lion defensive coach Jerry Sandusky must be termed ”alleged” until he is, hopefully, tried, convicted, and sentenced to live out his remaining days in some godforsaken Pennsylvania state prison.

As more and more of Sandusky’s victims emerge–the count may reach twenty–media and public venom are developing into a tsunami. However, in a peculiar twist, the venom isn’t being directed against the alleged perpetrator of the vile crimes but against legendary football coach Joe Paterno and Penn State University itself.
With Sandusky long retired, the PSU Board of Trustees peremptorily fired Paterno, by phone, on Wednesday. University president Dr. Graham Spanier was also cashiered. Paterno was dismissed for not doing enough to expose Sandusky’s predations, Spanier for covering them up. Combined with Athletic Director Tim Curley’s leave of absence and Senior PSU VP Gary Schultz’s resignation, that should have put the scandal to rest pending Sandusky’s trial.
Four heads on a platter proved to be nowhere near sufficient to sate the bloodlust of Penn State-haters in the media, however, anymore than the arrest of Jerry Sandusky satisfied them. Sandusky became almost incidental, his guilt as an accused serial homosexual child molestor almost irrelevant to the MSM even as new revelations surfaced.
Classified so far as rumors circulated by long-time PSU critic, Pittsburgh sports writer Mike Madden, Sandusky and his Second Mile Foundation were reputedly “pimping out young boys to rich donors” and Sandusky retired at the unusually young age of 55 ”in exchange for a cover-up” of his illicit activities.
Also seemingly irrelevant are the inactions of then-graduate assistant Mike McQueary.
His action, that is, informing Coach Paterno that he had personally witnessed Sandusky performing a sex act on a 10 year old boy in a shower room, has been duly noted and praised. Paterno reported the incident to Curley the next day yet he was fired.
McQueary’s grievous inactions of failing to intercede, of allowing the assault to continue, of not immediately calling the police–after flattening Sandusky and freeing the boy–speak volumes about McQueary and the Penn State administration.
Now an assistant coach, McQueary was scheduled to be on the sidelines in Saturday’s game with Nebraska alongside interim coach Tom Bradley before he received death threats from overworked fans crazed by Paterno’s dismissal. Aside from his failure to intervene in the first place, questions remain as to why he was not criticized for doing what Paterno did, going by the protocol book, and why he, too, wasn’t fired by PSU higher-ups.

Despite the proven absurdity of the unwritten, unofficial, inequitable rules of political correctness by which America is forced to live, the agents of PC keep finding new ways to enforce it, some subtle, some blatant, all ridiculous.
One observer who has traced the history of political correctness calls it “cultural Marxism” and explains, “the name originated as something of a joke, literally in a comic strip, and we tend still to think of it as only half-serious. In fact, it’s deadly serious. It is the great disease of our century, the disease that has left tens of millions of people dead in Europe, in Russia, in China, indeed around the world. It is the disease of ideology. PC is not funny. PC is deadly serious.”
Academic Bill Lind elaborated: “For the first time in our history, Americans have to be fearful of what they say, of what they write, and of what they think. They have to be afraid of using the wrong word, a word denounced as offensive or insensitive, or racist, sexist, or homophobic:” http://bit.ly/bsNr2b
The only problem with Lind’s definition and explanation of PC, which is right on the money, is that he seems to think it’s not a joke whereas it is a joke, a pathetic, sick, and pernicious joke–on common sense. It rears its ugly head in virtually every venue, from schools to legislatures, to churches and emerges on the most unexpected occasions.
A form of thought crime, another reflection of Marxist mind manipulation publicized if not created by Orwell’s Big Brother, political correctness is also the philosophical basis for such crime. Society and law enforcement agencies now presume to read the minds of accused malefactors and determine, predicated on their perceptions of an accused evildoer’s infraction of PC rules, how to treat the accused commensurately.
Perhaps the best way to illustrate the irrational senselessness of political correctness is to cite a recent, seemingly innocuous example of its implementation, enforcement, in the sports world.
Kobe Bryant, star shooting guard for the NBA’s LA Lakers, escaped certain prosecution and probable jail time for the rape . . .

Just when you think you’ve heard it all, that nothing can surprise you anymore, that any news the world throws at you can handle, a reality check: You ain’t heard nothin’ yet!
RUTGERS AND SNOOKI: First, from the “entertainment” front, taxpayers are footing a $32,000 bill in order that students at the State University of New Jersey, Rutgers, to hear the words of wisdom of Nicole Polizzi, aka Snooki, on MTV’s contribution to the enhancement of television, Jersey Shore.
Rutgers, which “is dedicated to teaching that meets the highest standards of excellence; to conducting research that breaks new ground; and to turning knowledge into solutions for local, national, and global communities,” apparently makes exceptions to those lofty goals.
Snooki was paid two grand more than Rutgers’ May commencement speaker, poetess Toni Morrison, which in itself is an absurdity, to talk on such momentous topics as her hair, (“The pouf is its own living form”), the reality of Jersey Shore, (“You can’t make this sh– up”), and her biggest inspiration, (“being tan”). Islam, the “Religion of Peace,” according to Islamists, is tolerant of all other religions, is opposed to slavery, treats women as equals, and is incompatible with terrorism, all of which contentions are also according to Muslims. In reality, none of that is true about Islam as history has proven.

However, one need not waste time exploring the long, disturbing and disturbed history of the religion of the Prophet Mohammed in order to reveal the truth about the faith to which anywhere from 1.2 to 1,6 billion people adhere. You just have to read the news.
Take the People’s Republic of Bangladesh where Muslims comprise 80% of the population and which is considered one of the “Next Eleven,” nations believed to have the potential to become world economic leaders in the new century. One of the most densely populated countries on the planet with 164.4 million mostly poor souls scrunched into 144 square miles of water and land, Bangladesh is also in the forefront of demonstrating classic Islamic treatment of its female inhabitants and the Next Eleven must be a sorry lot if Bangladesh is a member.
In civilized nations, rape, especially the rape of a minor child, is treated as among the most reprehensible of all crimes. In Shariatpur, Bangladesh, 14 year old Hena was raped by her 40 year old cousin, Mahbub, one day. The next day she, not Mahbub, was punished by being killed.
Lest anyone jump to false conclusions, Hena wasn’t intentionally murdered as a consequence of her misdeed. It was done all very legally and properly under Islamic law when Shariatpurian villagers condemned her in a fatwa, a scholarly, sharia ruling, and sentenced her to 100 lashes. As all Muslims know, females are always responsible for being raped.

Apparently cousin Mahbub is still on the prowl. Hena is still dead. The government is all verklempt. Sharia is very much alive.

The Formerly Great State of Texas, Part One
I used to respect, deeply respect and admire, the Lone Star State. Now I’m beginning to wonder if that respect and admiration are still warranted.
Two stories out of Texas give pause and cause wonder as to what in the name of Sam Houston is going on down there!
Pretty, white, 16 year old Texan high school student and cheer leader Hillaire made the news not for being a a pretty, white high school cheer leader but for refusing to cheer for fellow student, black basketball player, Rakheem Jamal Bolton, who had raped her.
Hillaire didn’t rant and rave against Rakheem, as she should have. Her father made no effort to render Rakheem a eunoch and then drag him a bit behind the family pick-up, as he should have. Her East Texas town and Silsbee High School failed to support her, as they should have.
With few others in her corner, except for the 16,270 who signed an online petition on her behalf, Hillaire simply sat down and refused to feign enthusiasm for the sick bastard who had raped her even after Silsbee officials demanded she cheer for Rakheem. After all, Rakheem had been temporarilly cleared of the rape charge and, after all, he was a top defensive player.
For that sit-down, for her intransigence, Hillaire was permanently kicked off the Silsbee High cheerleading team.
Just in case anyone missed the of intricacies of all that, a white Texan teenage girl was raped, her rapist, Rakheem Jamal Bolton, a black basketball player, was permitted to play ball for the school team and the rape victim was ordered to, in effect, pretend it never happened and to cheer her heart out for her rapist.
Of course, there was an extenuating circumstance: Hillaire got drunk at a party. That’s the only extenuation. During the party, shortly after entering a room with two boys, Rakheem, 18, and his good bro, Christian Paul Rountree, 19, she was heard crying, “Stop! Seriously, stop it. No!”
In Texas nowadays it seems white girls can’t just say, “No!” . . .

"She-Devil" Amanda Knox Gets Sued
As if she didn’t have enough on her plate and in her aborted life, Amanda Knox is now being sued and may have to stand trial for alleging Italian police “roughed her up” during their investigation into the grisly 2007 rape and murder of Knox’ British roommate, Meredith Karcher, in Perugia, Italy.
Self-described “Foxy Knoxy,” a “She-Devil” to the Italian press, Amanda Knox was found guilty of complicity in that murder and sentenced to 26 years in prison. She has 25 more to go and when she’s released will be a middle-aged woman, her youthful beauty gone, her youth gone, her future dismal.
With this new development of being sued by her captors, Knox is said to be depressed and “less serene:” http://tiny.cc/kbuyw. She’s fortunate not to be stark raving mad at this point.
I’m not totally convinced Ms. Knox directed or participated in Meredith’s murder, partially because I can’t fathom any young girl with no violence in her background and hailing from a decent family perpetrating that horrendous act.
I also don’t buy it partially because her prosecution and her chief prosecutor were gravely flawed and her riveting and sensationalized trial devolved into a veritable circus in a poisoned atmosphere with the public in both Italy and England clamoring for a young American’s head on a platter. . .

I’m not totally convinced Ms. Knox directed or participated in Meredith’s murder, partially because I can’t fathom any young girl with no violence in her background and hailing from a decent family perpetrating that horrendous act.
I also don’t buy it partially because her prosecution and her chief prosecutor were gravely flawed and her riveting and sensationalized trial devolved into a veritable circus in a poisoned atmosphere with the public in both Italy and England clamoring for a young American’s head on a platter. . .

When the mighty fall, they fall with a mighty thud.
Squeaky clean Albert Arnold Gore may have more skeletons in his attic, or bats in his belfry, than your average political bear. The Savior of the Earth, who has raked in hundreds of millions of dollars with his fraudulent global warming campaign, has had his armor more than tarnished of late; it’s been shredded.
To her credit, I guess, Tipper Gore says she doesn’t believe an iota of the scandalous tale floating around her estranged hubby about his attack of horniness in Portland a few years ago with 54 year old massage therapist, Molly Hagerty who later called him “a crazed sex poodle” and “a pervert and sexual predator.”
Good grief, Al! Is that any way for an uptight hero of environmentalists to act?
Then, again, I’m sure Elizabeth Edwards thought Johnny Edwards would never play hide the salami with some videographer and become the daddy of their love child while Liz was suffering from terminal cancer.
Or maybe she did? And maybe Tipper is covering for her husband of 40 years?

Reflections on Polanski, Bubba, and Schultz
Three separate tales of disillusionment:
Polanski Finally Arrested; Frogs, Poles and Lefties Lament:
Poor Roman Polanski, the aging Hollywood darling who for good reason hasn’t visited the Left Coast in decades, is the object of major angst and indignant protests in Poland, France, and of course, Hollywood.
His Hollywood buddies, accustomed as they are to weirdos, are also defending Polanski as one of their own.
The old lecher was arrested in Switzerland when his ego got the better of him and he ignored warnings not to go there since he was scheduled to get an award in Zurich.
Who would think that, after he had hidden out in France for decades and after admitting he drugged and raped a little girl in 1977, that a renouned Academy Award winner would be arrested?
Does an Oscar count for nothing nowadays?
The international protests are punctuated by reminders that the guy is 76 years old so why the big hulabaloo now? His victim, now 45, long ago forgave him for violating her and wants the whole matter dropped.
That Samantha Geimer sued the director and was paid off to keep her mouth shut about her rape is totally inconsequential.
Of far more consequence is the testimony by Polanski’s then main squeeze, Anjelica Huston, that the kid was “sullen.”
Using the she-had-it-coming-to-her defense, Huston testified that Samantha, “appeared to be one of those kind of little chicks between–could be any age up to 25. She did not look like a 13-year-old scared little thing:” http://bit.ly/1bABo.
Of no import is the fact that at least 90% of 13 year old American girls are “sullen” at one point or another and strive to look older, but 25? Anjelica’s perceptions may have been clouded by her affections for Roman and/or by overly imbibing in adult beverages.
Since Anjelica was at the scene of the crime and able to size up Samantha, the question is whether she condoned the rape since the kid was sullen and looked older than 13.
I can sort of understand that facet of the case but I can’t fully understand the consternation in both France and Poland.
France tends to swoon over anyone who signs up for citizenship, even unrepentant reprobates. When its new citizen is Roman Polanski, French authorities get positively livid and would defend him to the death, except, of course, against German invaders.
In Poland’s case, though, advocating for Polanski is much more of a sticky wicket.
Roman Polanski is often referred to as a Polish movie director. In point of fact, Polanski is as Polish as Regis Philbin.
The Jewish-born Roman “Romek” Liebling emigrated to France as a child just before WWII. One would think that being saved from almost certain extinction in the Holocaust would have inspired him to exult in his salvation and turn out films reflecting that exultation.
Instead, Roman Polanski directed Rosemary’s Baby and raped a 13 year old child.
Yet the Poles are up in arms over his arrest so many years after the act, supporting their famous “native son” since there aren’t an awful lot of famous “Polish” movie directors.
The Polish people would be better served by a government more interested in improving their lives and their economy than by a government involved in misplaced hero worship.
Polanski and the planet would be best served if he spent his remaining years in prison.
Bubba Resurrects an Old Canard:
Bubba, Bubba, Bubba. We can understand your envy over the bride’s basking in the limelight but maybe you could exercise some discretion and allow Hillary her moments in the sun?
When you dredge up Hillary’s bizarre “vast right wing conspiracy” theory, you make Americans think you’re either irredeemably mired in your guilt over Monica or that you’ve totally lost your mind.
You may recall that your loving wife invoked that theory way back in 1998 when it was already old; she used it to defend you against charges you were using the Oval Office as a virtual Oral Orifice bordello.
Work on getting some new lines, Billy Boy, instead of rehashing old tripe. . .

Updates: Child Rape and Violating Trees
It’s a challenge keeping up with continuing developments in the news and new outlooks on that news but to ignore them would be to ignore the ramifications and new perspectives that come to light. Therefore a few updates on previous articles.
Regular readers may recall the sickening story of an 8 year old Liberian immigrant girl in Phoenix who was brutally gang-raped by 4 fellow African boys, aged 9-14: http://www.genelalor.com/blog1/?p=1131
Her dad blamed his child, disowned her for bringing shame on the family, and condoned the actions of the other cherubs since it was just a cultural thing.
The shame should have been visited on the father for his failure to comfort his daughter and salve her emotional and physical wounds. Her mom didn’t utter a public word.
In a very incisive piece on Pajamasmedia.com, http://bit.ly/1otSf, the author brings out a significant point about that horrific event, a perspective that all Americans should be aware of and should digest and deeply consider before the next election.
As the son of a legal, Irish immigrant, it would be grossly hypocritical to take a stand against all immigration. Nevertheless, I feel free to speak out against some immigration, particularly when the new arrivals hold beliefs that not only are antithetical to established American values and principles but radically different.
Such is the case of many people who have come to our shores from the Third World. And, it’s not a question of color, something that must be stipulated nowadays to forestall the usual charges of racism. It’s a question of those values which are vastly different from American traditions.
Phillis Schesler makes a very salient point about that whole rape situation, not directly in respect to our immigration policies, disagreement with which would be deemed racist if honestly explicated, but to the history and values of many Third Worlders.
As she writes, they ”bring both their barbarism and their traumatized histories right along with them when they come to America.”
To think that even after a few generations that Third World immigrants could adapt to such beliefs that the rape of a child can be condoned in any way, after centuries of adherence to African–and Islamic–beliefs, is patently ridiculous.
It’s only a matter of time until those new arrivals expand their horizons to include white 8 year olds as their objects of affections.
In a semi-related event, the Obama White House in resident expert on science, John Holdren, is on record as believing that kids aren’t real human beings until they are “socialized,” which could take years after they are born: http://www.genelalor.com/blog1/?p=1137.
My research couldn’t determine whether Mr. Holdren is or is not a flaming homosexual but I know this much: The man has never met a 2 year old and probably not an infant. He hasn’t a clue as to their innate humanity.
