Muslims in Our Midst

Muslims in Our Midst

The issue of Muslims in Europe has been widely described as a metaphorical demographic time bomb, an apt figure of speech which, within our lifetimes, could become a literal fact of European life.

At the current rate of Muslim influx, Europe should become an Islamic continent long before America, an altogether fitting scenario since European nations have for decades been blithely and blindly inviting more and more Muslims into their countries and accommodating their traditions, their values, their mosques, and their sharia law.

Italy seems to be the latest European nation to come to the realization that Islam is becoming a pervasive presence, establishing the Italian branch of the planned worldwide Islamic caliphate, and preparing for the return of the 12th Imam who has been in hiding since the 13th century and will emerge to conquer the world.

That’s the bad news for Italy.

Worse news is that the Italians will no doubt follow the leads of the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, France, Sweden, Denmark, and Germany and do nothing substantive to forestall or prevent the Muslim invasion and takeover of their lands.

Like most of Europe, Italy has evolved into a very liberal state and all liberals deeply believe in the principle of live and let live, of permitting everyone to fully exercise their God- or Allah-given freedoms and do as they please.

Europe is enamored of the misguided and discredited PC idea that multiculturalism will solve all its immigration problems by integrating and absorbing Muslims into society even as it’s been proven most Muslim immigrants haven’t the slightest interest in assimilation.

By ignoring that reality, Europeans are allowing foreigners to seize control of their governments and cultures and determine their futures.

In Italy, which still has a relatively low Muslim population of 1.5 million, native Italians seem shocked that “mosques are springing up like mushrooms” as very fertile Muslims reproduce like rabbits and the natives are more interested in the trappings of modernism than traditional marriage and making babies.

When it became apparent . . . (Read more at http://www.genelalor.com/blog1/?p=20744.)

A Preview of Obama's Libya Speech

A Preview of Obama's Libya Speech

Our president plans, finally, to address the nation on his actions, and inactions, regarding Moammar Khadafy, Libya, maybe the United Nations, maybe NATO, maybe Hillary, maybe the price of keffiyehs in Tripoli.

Speech well-prepared, trusty teleprompters at the ready, President Barack Hussein Obama will take the Oval Office seat, long disinfected of Clinton droppings, and try to explain . . .

It was amusing when Prissy famously said in GWTW, ”I don’t know nothin’ ’bout birthin’ babies.” It’s terrifying when an American president effectively says, ”I don’t know nothin’ ’bout what tha hell is goin’ on in the world.” He also knows nothin’ ’bout being president.

"She-Devil" Amanda Knox Gets Sued

"She-Devil" Amanda Knox Gets Sued

As if she didn’t have enough on her plate and in her aborted life, Amanda Knox is now being sued and may have to stand trial for alleging Italian police “roughed her up” during their investigation into the grisly 2007 rape and murder of Knox’ British roommate, Meredith Karcher, in Perugia, Italy.

Self-described “Foxy Knoxy,” a “She-Devil” to the Italian press, Amanda Knox was found guilty of complicity in that murder and sentenced to 26 years in prison. She has 25 more to go and when she’s released will be a middle-aged woman, her youthful beauty gone, her youth gone, her future dismal.

With this new development of being sued by her captors, Knox is said to be depressed and “less serene:” http://tiny.cc/kbuyw. She’s fortunate not to be stark raving mad at this point.

I’m not totally convinced Ms. Knox directed or participated in Meredith’s murder, partially because I can’t fathom any young girl with no violence in her background and hailing from a decent family perpetrating that horrendous act.

I also don’t buy it partially because her prosecution and her chief prosecutor were gravely flawed and her riveting and sensationalized trial devolved into a veritable circus in a poisoned atmosphere with the public in both Italy and England clamoring for a young American’s head on a platter. . .

Gay Priests and the Church that Tolerates Them Part One

Gay Priests and the Church that Tolerates Them

Political comebacks are one thing. Institutional, religious comebacks are quite another.

Corruption in the Catholic Church in the fifteenth century led to Martin Luther and the Protestant Reformation, the effects of which are still profoundly felt by the Church five centuries later.

The Church is again moving on down that slippery slope, that thorn-filled path, in the twenty-first century due to a wholly different type of corruption: the continuing presence of gay priests.

Just as today’s lenient atmosphere allows tainted pols to worm their way back into the society’s graces, many people today are ambivalent about homosexuals even if they consider homosexual practices and lifestyles to be repugnant, even sinful.

The reason for that ambivalence, I believe, is that so many gays have exited their closets in recent years that many people now know admitted homosexuals as acquaintances, friends, even family members and so are hesitant to condemn or even criticize them.

That’s unfortunate for many reasons, chief of which for the purpose of this article is that the Catholic Church seems to have adopted a comparable collegial or familial attitude toward gay priests and refuses to expel them from the priesthood, refuses, that is, until a major, public scandal hits the tabloids. . .

Foxy Knoxy, Political Football or Slutty She-Devil, Part I

Foxy Knoxy, Political Football or Slutty She-Devil? Part I

Lizzie Borden took an axe/ And gave her mother forty whacks./
And when she saw what she had done/ She gave her father forty-one.

To be more precise, that well-known bloody ditty should really read:

Lizzie Borden allegedly took an axe/ And allegedly gave her mother forty whacks/ And when she committed that dastardly crime/ She allegedly gave her father forty-one.

The latter, of course, suffers from awful metrics as well as a lack of rhyme but the point is that young Liz was never convicted of that double murder, a matricide and a patricide.

An equally-metrically-flawed, semi-rhymed bloody ditty about Amanda Knox might read:

Foxy Knoxy took a knife/ To end a bud’s too young life/ And when she was caught/ She was given life.

Without pleading her total innocence and without trying to make light of the brutal death of 21 year old British exchange student, Meredith Kercher at the hands of Amanda Knox and others, Knox’s conviction last Friday was a clear travesty of justice.

Since I don’t know Amanda, I won’t vouch for her innocence in this awful crime but, based on some limited research into her trial, it’s as evident as that cold sore on her lip seen in many older court photos, Ms. Knox was shafted in Perugia, and that’s not a reference to any actions by her former boyfriend, Raffaeli Sollecito.

Whether due to a known corrupt prosecuter, to a jury that convicted her even before the trial began, to misleading and tainted evidence, or simply due to that Italian jury’s conviction that wiseass Americans should get their comeuppance for being spoiled, little brats who use little, innocent Italian towns as venues for “Girls Gone Wild” episodes, Amanda got a raw deal: http://bit.ly/Kweee

Knox was sentenced to 26 years . . .
