Ayes for Newt!
If “maximum covert operations” and other strategies failed there would be no other choice. First, however, the United States should consider “taking out their scientists” and “breaking up their systems, all of it covertly, all of it deniable.”
The speaker of those words was addressing the danger of a nuclear-armed Iran which could threaten not only the State of Israel with obliteration but the entire Mideast with instability, and the United States with chaos.
The speaker was obviously not President Barack Hussein Obama who has demonstrated a distinct affinity for all things Islamic and who has waffled for months on the monumental issue of dealing with a nuclear, Muslim Iran.
The speaker was Newton “Newt” Gingrich, former Speaker of the House of Representatives, inspiration for the 1994 “Contract with America, and current candidate for the Republican nomination for the presidency of the United States. He was responding to a question posed at Saturday night’s presidential debate in Spartansberg, South Carolina.
Newt doesn’t mince words, publicly articulating what all presidents practice but few admit to, that covert actions are sometimes necessary when the security of the country is involved, even when those actions require the pre-emptive elimination of threatening emplacements, and people, all done with plausible deniability.
As America slips into a second-rate economic status while China and India are gaining world ascendency, as our international influence wanes and pipsqueak nations such as Iran dare to bully us, as we wallow in a Carteresque malaise and our president embraces the anarchic Occupy Wall Street movement, we need a leader like Newt Gingrich. . . .

How to Lose an Election
How to Lose an Election
Definitive results of Republican preferences for their party’s 2012 nominee for president of the United States are far from in although thousands have expressed their opinions in non-binding state straw polls. There won’t be any real results until the numbers from the January 3rd Iowa caucuses and January 1oth New Hampshire primary are tabulated.
Still, based on early polls, the debates, educated guesses, and inconsequential straw ballots, pundits and non-pundits alike have a gut feeling on who will snag the gold GOP ring and, perhaps more importantly, who should be the nominee’s choice for a running mate.
As of now, it looks like former Massachusetts governor Willard Mitt Romney for the top spot. Assuming Mitt wants to win on November 6th,2012, he will pick Florida’s Senator Marco Antonio Rubio to run with him against President Barack Hussein Obama and Person-to-be-Named-Later, after Obama tests how the fickle political winds are blowing.
Designated late night Democrat hatchetmen Leno and Letterman would have tons of idiotic fun poking ridicule at “Willard” and “Marco” while ignoring the equivalent hilarity of “Barack” and his comical gaffes and ineptitude but they won’t get the chance unless Willard and Marco share the GOP ticket.
As we all know, things can change quickly and dramatically in the world of contemporary politics. Witness New York Senator Hillary Clinton’s unexpected fade in the 2008 Democrat presidential sweepstakes and, more recently, Rep. Michelle Bachmann’s and Gov. Rick Perry’s falls from grace among Republicans.
We also know the sheer terror Rubio has struck in the liberal minds and soul-less hearts of Obama’s MSM as seen in the current campaign by the Washington Post, et al. to deconstruct Rubio based on an innocent error concerning the date of his parents’ flight from Castro’s Cuba. The lib theory seems to be, when you have nothing, go with it, the same angle they unsuccessfully used on Herman Cain.
Good man that he is, Cain can’t be elected despite his recent popularity; he’s even more inexperienced and unqualified to be president than a certain community organizer was three years ago and lacks the advantage of mainstream media backing him and concealing his flaws.
Barring some catastrophic event, a Hillary insurrection, or Obama pulling an LBJ, he will head the Democrat ticket next year and, barring a miracle, Romney will be the Republican nominee. He will then have to decide whether to beat Obama or try once again to win in 2016. . .

The GOP Debt Limit Success Charade
The GOP Debt Limit Success Charade
The political dust hadn’t even settled when all the principals were grinning and back-slapping over the snarky, bi-partisan debt suckering of the American people by those same national leaders. Barack Obama was elated, almost tearfully happy he had averted not the imminent default but at avoiding being labeled as The Default President.
Harry Reid was overjoyed, overjoyed for the funereal Harry Reid, at his coup. John Boehner and Mitch McConnell basked in what they erroneously called a Republican victory, of sorts.
Wisely kept out of the negotiating loop, Nancy Pelosi sulked and concurred that the deal was a “Satan sandwich” yet caved and voted to eat that delicacy rather than have to manufacture an original thought. With the triumphal Gabby Giffords in the House and in favor of the bill, Aunt Nancy couldn’t very well vote against her.
Actually, in a great and confused rhetorical leap, Democrat Rep. Emanuel Cleaver (MO) had termed the engineered debt agreement a “sugar coated Satan sandwich,” although it’s difficult for conservatives and anyone else interested in fiscal sanity to taste its sweetness.
Perhaps Cleaver had in mind the Urban Dictionary’s definition of a Satan sandwich as “The chiefest of hell’s dark delights, it is said that just one bite of it arouses an unspeakable lust of terrific potency,” although that’s unlikely since Cleaver is a minister and ministers aren’t supposed to think that way.
Whatever you choose to call the bill raising the nation’s debt limit, to term it a successful agreement would be subverting the meaning of success.
Can it be characterized as a success when the nation’s debt ceiling is raised by as much as $2.4 trillion, the largest increase by far in our history, second only to the 2010 increase of $1.9 trillion, both of which major gradations occurred under the careful watch of President Obama and his accomplished tax cheat Treasury Secretary, Timothy Geithner?
Can it be characterized a success . . .
