Dead Men Talking, Walking, and Choosing

Capital punishment in America, the execution by the government of a felon convicted by a jury of his peers for grievous crimes, usually murder, is widely regarded to be as barbaric as the crimes themselves. The proffered argument is that it makes no sense to kill people to show people that killing people is wrong.

There is some truth to that position, that the state is acting as viciously as the murderer and that executions serves no purpose other than societal vengeance. There is also some truth to the view that such punishment is merited based on the extreme nature of the crime and it serves as a deterrent for future murderers.

Valid points of view have been posed on both sides, none of which have resolved the issue.

In any event, in the United States and in many of the other 58 countries that still execute criminals, capital convictions have become almost farcical. Due to mandated appeals processes, the convicted are housed, fed, and afforded other perks for decades and the methods used today to execute them are usually far more humane than the murders they committed.

American death row inmates are well aware of their rights and privileges. Many flaunt them, one even got to choose his method of execution.

Danny Robbie Hendley, Jr., found guilty of killing a 17 year old girl in 2009 in North Carolina and suspected of killing two other women, knows he has many years to live. He seems to relish life on death row and utilizes his time to taunt the families of his victims.

In an open letter published in The Gaston Gazette, Hendley brazenly wrote, ”Is the public aware that I am a gentleman of lesiure, watching color TV in the A.C., reading, takeing [sic] naps at will, eating three well balanced hot meals a day. I’m housed in a building that connects to the new 55 million dollar hospital with round the clock free medical care 24/7. . . Kill me if you can, suckers. . . Ha! Ha! Ha!"

Why Hendley sent that letter to the Gazette is obvious: He is an unrepentant snake. Why the Gazette saw fit to print his vile, sneering rant is a question which should be directed to the editors.

Another good question is why California treats convicted rapists, murderers, thieves, et al. better than it does taxpayers.

It’s not nice to mess with Mother Nature. In the perceptions of Democrats, it’s even less nice to mess with Dem-liberal icons such as America’s 35th and first Irish-Catholic president, John Fitzgerald Kennedy.

I wasn’t of legal voting age in 1960 and didn’t live in Chicago where such legalities didn’t much matter, so I didn’t vote for JFK although, at 18, I thought Jack Kennedy was the greatest thing to come on the scene since sliced Irish soda bread.

I maintained that immature viewpoint through Jack’s narrow election victory and until he proved he was more liberal than he was presidential, not anywhere near the mold of America’s current extreme leftist chief executive but still far from what I had anticipated of him.

As it subsequently turned out, JFK was more in Bill Clinton’s mold.

In my admittedly harshly though accurately-titled article, “JFK: Whoremaster, Pimp, Drug Pusher,” I discussed Mimi Beardsley Alford’s new book, Once Upon a Secret: My Secret Affair with JFK, which details the author’s experiences as a 19 year old Kennedy White House intern in 1962. According to Alford’s recollections, Jack was indeed a whoremaster, pimp, and drug pusher who seduced her in Jackie Kennedy’s private bedroom, carried on a lengthy affair with her, farmed her out to perform oral sex on his buddy, Dave Powers–while Jack watched–and suggested she take his prescribed drugs, which she refused to do.

Of course, fifty years later, there is little possibility of verifying Mimi Alford’s allegations and hence no hindrances on the media alleging it’s all baloney. There are no other living witnesses and, regrettably, no Monica Lewinsky blue dress dna evidence, evidence that wouldn’t deter JFK idolators, anyway.

Clarifications on Voter Fraud, Polar Bears, Clint Eastwood, God, and Obamacare

Anyone who believes life is simple and uncomplicated, who believes our world and national news and events aren’t always in flux, who believes the status quo will always be the status, must also regularly tune into Comedy Central liberal comedians Stephen Colbert and Jon Stewart to find out what’s happening on our planet and its import.

Believe it or not, based on admittedly anecdotal experience, many moronic people do turn to Colbert and Stewart as well as to Barack Hussein Obama’s MSM for their news.

For those among us who are not brain-dead, a few clarifications:

. Allegations that Hillary Clinton’s vast right wing conspirators are dedicated to exposing extremist left wing electoral turpitude have been proven correct in the swing state of Florida. In a single district, amost a hundred illegal aliens were registered to vote in the general election in November. Lee County Supervisor of Elections Sharon Harrington said, “It could change the whole complexion of the election.”

Considering which candidate is the principal supporter of illegals’ “rights,” guessing they were planning to vote for Barack Hussein Obama would be a safe bet.

. Claims that polar bears have been suffering during our era of alleged global-warming and shrinking ice caps have, once again, been proven false. Actually, those bears are thriving and the ice caps have been frozen in place even in the Himalayas, despite experts.’ contentions in 2009 that they wouldn’t exist in 2035.

In lieu of those realities, we can be certain the purveyors of climate panic will soon revert to their seventies’ warnings of a new Ice Age as a fear-substitute in order to keep the world terrified and Al Gore’s wallet stuffed . . .

The battle launched by Barack Hussein Obama’s administration’s insistence that Catholic institutions violate their collective consciences and church law on artificial birth control has less to do with contraception than with liberal disdain for America’s Constitution.

The ongoing uproar over contraception simply reinforces the disdain shown when our alleged “constitutional scholar” president arrogantly complained to Matt Lauer that Congress was impeding his insatiable lust for power and autocratic rule by performing checks and balances on the executive branch and by his earlier declaration that he would, unconstitutionally, bypass the legislative branch to accomplish his goals.

The president was recently joined by an Associate Justice of the Supreme Court in his public contempt for the US Constitution.

Arch-liberal Ruth Bader Ginsburg appeared on Egyptian television, praised other national constitutions, but said of ours, “I would not look to the U.S. Constitution if I were drafting a constitution in the year 2012.” As a member of SCOTUS, Ginsburg is charged with interpreting that 225 year old document yet doesn’t consider it worthy of emulation.

Jackie Evancho--an Angel Sings!

It’s indeed a rarity when an angel deigns to sing to us mere mortals but the eleven year old “classical crossover” artist with a soprano voice, Jackie Avancho, did just that with her recent single, “To Believe,” an overtly Christian religious song which puts the lie to any cynical belief that all ’tween girls are silly.

“Crossover” artists like Josh Groban are said to bridge the gap between classical and pop music. Jackie Evancho manages, at eleven, to bridge the gap between mere song and sincere prayer. She also plays the violin, piano–and sews!

It’s not clear whether Jackie cleans up her room and makes her bed but, based on everything else known about her, she probably does–and takes out the trash and maybe even solves the riddles of the universe!

President Barack Hussein Obama may trample on the Constitution, invoke the name of Jesus Christ to further his re-election, and deny Catholics religious freedom with Obamacare–and that’s only in the last week–but, to his credit, has not turned the White House into a whorehouse unlike some of his fellow Democrats.

Lyndon Baines Johnson was a noted womanizer and James Earl Carter admitted to lusting in his heart but apparently neither used the executive mansion as a bawdy house. William Jefferson Clinton and John Fitzgerald Kennedy did.

Of course, Clinton’s sexual abandon and paramours were legendary prior to his winning election in 1992, even if his mainstream media chose to conceal them from the public. His trysts that stained the Oval Office carpet, Monica Lewinsky’s famous blue dress, and the dignity of the presidency could almost have been expected.

Kennedy was known as a lady’s man in Washington before he became America’s 35th president. However, his various assignations with Marilyn Monroe and other women were not revealed until well after his assassination, a delay once again attritutable to the liberal MSM covering for one of their own.

The truth will eventually out and Mimi Beardsley Alford has now outed Jack as a seducer of teenagers, a drug pusher, and a pimp, all harsh descriptions, all confirmed by Alford’s new tell-all, Once Upon a Secret: My Secret Affair with JFK.

Such belated revelations are often as trashy as they are fictional and Mrs. Alford’s motivations in publishing her secret of half a century must be called into question considering the embarrassment it has to cause for her children and grandchildren.

Who knows? She may need the money, she may need to clear her aging conscience, she may still be hurting from Jack’s ultimate rejection fifty years back, she may want revenge, or she may simply be trying to rectify the historical record that JFK was a family man. . .

The huge flap over the Susan G. Komen for the Cure foundation’s decision to cease funding Planned Parenthood of America, PPOA, and then to rescind that recission is nothing more than a tempest in the abortion teapot. It’s also an excellent example of the power of bullying.

Susan G. Komen for the Cure is as dedicated to curing breast cancer as Planned Parenthood is dedicated to killing the pre-born. However, when the foundation pulled its funding of PPOA last week, it was a wake-up call, if one were needed, that libs are far more concerned for preserving abortion rights than they are with preserving the lives of women.

Under a torrent of incensed bullying attacks, the foundation quickly seemed to reverse its decision though not before libs launched a withering onslaught of abuse of Komen.

The bullying died down following the apparent reversal, which is ironic since the foundation simply decided to adhere to its previous commitment to pay PPOA over half a million dollars but would provide no additional funding because, despite its advertising, the nation’s most profitable and prolific abortionists doesn’t give a damn about breast cancer.

Komen caved to the bullying tactics then made it clear it won’t support organizations not engaged in breast cancer research or treatment or if they are proven guilty of criminal activities,

As background, Susan Komen died at age 36 in 1980, a victim of the plague of breast cancer after her sister Nancy Goodman Brinker swore to her that she would do all she could to eradicate that scourge. . . .

SuperBowl XLVI, Big Highs, Two Notable Lows

After weeks of incessant hype which became as tedious as political blatherings and debates, the annual American spectacle, the Super Bowl, is finally over.

For those living under some rock or maybe in Massachusetts, the New York Giants defeated the New England Patriots in the forty-sixth edition of the Super Bowl by eking out a 21-17 victory thanks to Tom Coughlin’s coaching, Eli Manning’s unflappability, and Mario Manningham proving he knows where his feet are.

To Giant fans, those were the highest points of Super Bowl XLVI–the only association with Roman numerals most of America’s schoolkids ever get–although there were others, including a typically-amazing halftime show concluding with Madonna vaporized in a cloud of smoke.

Unfortunately, that vaporization was a special effect.

There were no intentional “wardrobe malfunctions” comparable to Janet Jackson’s nipple display during halftime in 2004 but NBC’s did feature the only low moment of the show when the alleged entertainer M.I.A. showed she has even less class than she has talent.

During Madonna’s song “Give Me All Your Luvin,” M.I.A. displayed the middle finger of her left hand and obscenely cursed at either Madonna, at the hundred million children and adults watching the performance, or both.

NBC and the NFL quickly offered explanatory defenses.

NBC disingenuously contended, “It was a spontaneous gesture that our delay system caught late [to bleep].” The network didn’t explain how M.I.A.’s flipping the bird and mouthing an expletive could possibly be interpreted as ”a spontaneous gesture.”

When Is Racism not Racism?

The answer to the title question of when racism is not racism is as transparent as the Obama administration is opaque: When the MSM or officials don’t want it to be.

Racism is almost always deemed racism when it involves perceived or actual attacks by whites against blacks yet rarely described as such when blacks physically and verbally abuse whites. Examples of the both social anomalies abound with the former getting by far the most media attention and the latter being mostly ignored.

For example, when the “Reverends” Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton display their keen awareness of white racism in virtually everything they disagree with, the MSM reports those perceptions sans comment as if they were biblical truth.

However, when Sen. Charles Grassley proposed making habitual drunk driving a deportable offense for aliens, it was interpreted as racist designed to discriminate against illegals such as President Obama’s drunken Uncle Omar.

When I posted an article titled, “Wisdom from the FLOTUS” examining Michelle Obama’s background, positions, and statements, a commenter strongly defended our First Lady and felt obliged to conclude in his defense, “I think racism is at least a possibility.” (http://bit.ly/wprRoO)

White racism always seems, at the minimum, “a possibility” when whites are accused of assaulting or even offering objective critiques of African-Americans. Black racism is virtually never considered when blacks attack whites, a fact of American life substantiated by the renowned African-American economics professor and poltical commentator, Walter E. Williams.

In an especially honest assessment of the state of racial justice in America today, Prof. Williams said, “In many of these brutal attacks, the news media make no mention of the race of the perpetrators. If it were white racist gangs randomly attacking blacks, the mainstream media would have no hesitation reporting the race of the perps.”

Truer words were never spoken as are the words spoken by Chicago Tribune Gerould Kern who conceded that “Editors for the Los Angeles Times, The New York Times and the Chicago Tribune . . . deliberately censored information about black crime for political reasons. . . to ‘guard against subjecting an entire group of people to suspicion.’ ” (http://bit.ly/mtX5AM)

Foolish me! I always thought the mission of the news media, the very basis for its existence, was to report the news fairly and objectively, not to pick and choose what and how to report predicated on “political reasons,” i.e., what is PC.

Now, granted, the American news media has always had a slant from colonial times through the twenty-first century.

Today, the Washington Times and Fox News lean toward the right, the conservative viewpoint, while the vast majority of news outlets, from the Washington Post to the New York Times to the L.A. Times to CNN to MSNBC report with a liberal slant often so distorted that it’s difficult to distinguish news from editorials.

War, Religion, Politics, and the Super Bowl

Two centuries ago, the English poet William Wordsworth wrote that “the world is too much with us,” essentially meaning that even in the early 1800′s humanity was too consumed with material things and the affairs of the day to smell the roses.

The alternative is escapism, ignoring what’s going on in the world around us, which can be worse than materialism.

Some subjects like war and peace, politics and all its ramifications, religion and all its controversy, politics and all its dirt, and the Super Bowl with all its manic craziness just can’t be avoided. Hence, I’m offering a few random, unsolicited commonsensical solutions for current issues. They are admittedly far from original but are thoughts worth repeating.

IRAN: Except maybe for some Iranians, few sane people believe the Islamic Republic of Iran is developing a nuclear program at the same time it’s developing short�and long-range missile technology in the interests of providing nuclear-generated electricity in a land with more oil resources than indoor toilets.

As they stall for time to execute�their avowed plan to eradicate Israel from the face of the planet and ignite a worldwide cataclysm to bring about the End Times, Iran’s president and ayatollahs must be chuckling in their hummus as America’s president continues his asinine quest for dialogue with maniacs in lieu of confronting the reality that Islam is thirsting for the Apocalypse.

COMMON SENSE SOLUTION: Not that they need it, but Israel should forget waiting for a green light from America’s Waffler-in-Chief and launch a pre-emptive strike to eliminate the Iranian threat sooner rather than later. More stalling will only make the job harder and the US will be blamed no matter what happens.

War sucks but it sure beats Armageddon.

POLITICS: The inherently dirty business of politics has gotten dirtier by the week in the past year with the president’s attack/slime machine in overgear and Republicans engage in internecine warfare which only serves to furnish campaign fodder for Obama and to enhance the egos of the GOP candidates.

The president’s billion dollar re-election effort, ably-assisted by his mainstream media, has already dismantled Michelle Bachmann, Herman Caine, and Rick Perry and is prepared to destroy whomever is eventually nominated to oppose him. The remaining hopefuls can only bring on greater damage to themselves and to the GOP if they allow the bloodletting to persist.

When the Muslim-tainted Obama resorted to citing Jesus Christ and the Golden Rule as inspirations for class warfare and Obamacare at the National Prayer Breakfast, they had to realize he will stop at nothing in order to get the opportunity for four more years to drag the nation into oblivion. . . Over the years, Michelle LaVaughn Robinson Obama has often been gracious enough to express her heartfelt opinions.

From her racially-charged senior thesis at Princeton University in which she conceded feeling uncomfortable being black in a white society to her admission of never having felt any pride in her country, our First Lady has always been forthcoming and has exemplified an incisive awareness of her beloved United States of America.

Uninformed, mean-spirited critics of Mrs. Obama can launch vicious attacks on her all they want but they only display their total lack of couth and incredible ignorance when they call her names and disparage her many accomplishments, fashion sense, personal attributes, and keen knowledge.

After all, didn’t she–on national television, no less–just persuade Jay Leno to munch his first apple in 28 years!

And, was Mamie Eisenhower ever denigrated as a mooch? Was Jackie Kennedy ever described as class-less? Was Lady Bird Johnson ever castigated for wearing a purple dress to a state dinner? Was Laura Bush ever criticized for using Air Force One as her valet service? Were any other First Ladies in the last century derided merely for wanting to be involved in affairs of state?

Okay, Democrats Edith Wilson, Eleanor Roosevelt, Rosalynn Carter, and Hillary Clinton were but they were Democrat exceptions. However, attacks on Michelle are clear evidence of that racism she alluded to at Princeton.

And, the uncouth, racist meanness persists.

Dastardly accusations that Michelle Obama is a spendthrift on taxpayer money simply because she likes to vacation, claims that she is a hypocrite for advocating for better nutrition and against childhood obesity while she scarfs down grossly-fattening foods, and allegations she lies and doesn’t know what she’s talking about are absolutely unacceptable!

Cinnamon, Sex, and Sexism in Society

Cinnamon has been popular for four thousand years and sex even longer but both have taken on new applications in America’s schools and society.

The “cinnamon challenge” now supplements “planking” as a dumb new student fad, teachers having sex with students now supplements their salaries, and courts show that sexism is alive and well.

Heretofore, cinnamon had been used primarily as a diet aid and as a flavorful spice for buns and other desserts until kids discovered that snorting a teaspoon of it could be fun, if you consider gagging, coughing, and vomiting fun.

New Haven’s Clinton Avenue School Principal Carmen Ana Rodriquez must enjoy watching fun things since she permitted a student to engage in the dangerous challenge in her cafeteria. Trying to swallow a load of powdered cinnamon can result in damage to the lungs when it is accidentally inhaled.

It’s not known whether the student–probably a boy–suffered respiratory difficulties as a result but Rodriquez was turned in and placed on paid administrative leave.

The damage caused to students by teachers seducing them can also be irreparable, not that some teachers are discouraged by that fact.

Three examples in just the last week: A Los Angeles teacher has been charged with molesting some 23 kids, another California teacher molested a 7 year old and recorded the molestation on his cellphone, a Reno teacher admitted to commiting a variety of sex acts on seven students and virtually got away with it.

If nothing else, unmarried Miramonte Elementary School teacher Mark Berndt, 61, must be given credit for his perverted perseverance and creativity. Arrested and held on $ 2.3 million bail for molesting 23 girls and boys ages 6-10, he was charged with committing lewd acts after a film processor showed authorities 40 disturbing pictures.

The photos depicted Berndt with his arm around blindfolded kids whose mouths were taped or had his hand over them, some children with giant cockroaches on their faces, some girls were being fed what apparently was sperm on cookies.

Almost 400 additional pictures of children were found after a search of Berndt’s home and classroom as well as an adult sexual bondage DVD. Los Angeles Unified School Dirtrict Superintendent John Deasy said he was “sickened and horrified by the behavior of Mark Berndt.”

What began last September in New York City as a complaint against unemployment and greed by some unemployed and student loan-burdened young people has long since been transformed by radical revolutionaries worldwide.

Since that transformation, President Barack Hussein Obama’s favorite protesters have repeatedly established new lows in uncivilized behavior. Characterized by his own Washington Post as the most polarizing president to ever sit in the White House, The Anointed One “ain’t seen nothing yet” when it comes to polarization.

In recent weeks, the Occupy Wall Street (OWS) anarchists have devolved from almost-comical whiners into residents of rat-infested enclaves in the nation’s capital, throwing bricks and Bibles at police and urinating on a crucifix in San Francisco, using storm drains as toilets in Charlotte, tossing condoms at Catholic high school girls in Providence, and rioting and burning American flags in Oakland.

That’s not the half of the atrocities they have committed.

And, true to form, Obama’s MSM reports next to none of it and the president has refused to condemn even the rioting flag-burners. However, all those sick stories and more have been reported on such non-mainstream websites as Drudge.com and PatDollard.com.

It’s almost as if Obama’s MSM is censoring the news and Obama supports the anarchy. Imagine that!

In a farcically desperate attempt to characterize the Occupy Movement as simple socio-economic dissent, Obama’s MSM have compared it to the invariably-peaceful and decorous Tea Party demonstrations.

The fact that, in the 3-year existence of the Tea Party, not one member has ever been arrested while over 6,000 Occupiers have been jailed for everything from assault to rape to public nudity and copulation in their 4-month history puts the lie to that absurdity.

Among other evidence that Obama’s media have been shielding both the Occupy Movement and their most notable supporter from adverse publicity is their effort to hide plans to disrupt the Chicago G8 summit in May.

All the president’s minions have successfully cloaked the infestation of Marxists directing the Occupiers’ actions, the presence of criminals, skin-heads, neo-Fascists and other reprobates in the OWS midst, as well as the funding from arch-leftist George Soros.

The saddest irony is that the global warming charade has been perpetrated by the most influential international body on Earth and perpetuated by the most powerful nation in the world. And, for very explicable geopolitical reasons, the U.N. and the U.S. consistently get away with it.

There was no censure after warming-scammers were outed as United Nations’ shills in 2009. There was no position re-assessment following a petition signed by 31,487 global warming-refuting scientists. There was no condemnation of character assassination of highly reputable climatologists who disagreed with the conventional, politically correct climate wisdom.

Rep. Allen West for President!

It was bad enough that Rep. Allen West had to resign his Army commission because he valued the lives of soldiers under his command over an Iraqi jihadist. He should have known that political correctness reigns supreme in America’s military today.

It was bad enough that West went on to become the first black GOP congressman elected in Florida in 134 years. He should have known that African-Americans have no business being Republicans.

It was bad enough that West is a patriotic, conservative American aware of the Islamic terrorist threat and fed up with leftist politics but now he has really gone off the deep end, telling liberals where to go, and it isn’t to Bimini or to any of their other retreats where libs go to dust off their constituents’ detritus.

In a Saturday address at the Palm Beach County Republican Party Lincoln Day dinner, West told Washington’s Democrat liberals to go to hell with their liberalism.

As he bluntly said, ”Take your message of equality of achievement, take your message of economic dependency, take your message of enslaving the entrepreneurial will and spirit of the American people somewhere else. You can take it to Europe, you can take it to the bottom of the sea, you can take it to the North Pole, but get the hell out of the United States of America.”

Unlike most politicians who pull their punches, West specifically named the Democrats who he thinks should vacate the premises: President Barack Hussein Obama, House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid.

He added that he will not allow Barack Hussein Obama to destroy the nation he, his family and friends have served and if his words meant he will be targeted by the Democrat Party, “Bring it on, baby.”

He could easily have included dozens of other Democrats who should “get the hell out” as well as the entire Occupy movement which, like their political counterparts, is less involved in working to correcting America’s flaws than in destroying, disrupting, and dismantling our country.

Unfortunately, too, Republican presidential hopefuls are currently too immersed in fratricidal warfare to recognize that their divisive bickering will only insure the nation will go to hell when Obama is re-elected in November.

An Alternative to the DREAM Act

In yet another effort to suck up to Latinos by pushing the so-called “DREAM Act,” a euphemistic acronym for the proposed law attempting to win votes by granting Latinos permanent residency in the United States, President Barack Hussein Obama has shown he is far more interested in re-election than in a commitment to the nation’s territorial integrity.

The Development, Relief, and Education for Alien Minors Act has been kicking around Congress for a decade and has been repeatedly rejected primarily since it rewards illegal aliens for an alien invasion.

The DREAM Act would ostensibly reward children of alien invaders ”of good moral character” with permanent residency if they have lived in the U.S. for five years, graduated from an accredited high school, and attended college for two years.

Or, illegals up to age 35–far beyond the status of “children”–may qualify if they had “served in the armed services for at least 2 years and, if discharged, received an honorable discharge.”

The stated rationale for the proposed legislation? Extending America’s gracious hand to people who are already in residence, who we can’t figure out how to get rid of, and who haven’t committed crimes they have been caught committing. The effective result? The Democrat Party adds up to 2.1 million grateful Latino voters to its ranks.

Florida Republican Rep. David Rivera, reasoning that, “If somebody is willing to die for America, then certainly they deserve a chance at life in America,” wants to change the DREAM Act to the ARMS Act, the Adjusted Residency for Military Service Act.

He proposes scrapping the college feature in favor of restricting the path to citizenship to those who serve in the military. . .

Actress Cynthia Nixon recently raised the ire of the homosexual community, including the famously flaming Perez Hilton, when she hurled a spear through the very heart of the gay ethos. Nixon confessed she chose to go lesbian and that her decision was not dictated by any genetic predisposition.

Nixon’s radical admission flies in the face of the fundamental gay mantra that they are “born that way” and don’t become homosexuals due to outside influences such as being momma’s boys or girls rejected by males. Undoubtedly, some are genetically programmed toward their own gender but studies have shown that nurture and not nature is a determinant in many instances.

Best known for her role as Amanda Hobbes on the raunchy “Sex and the City” HBO series and currently appearing as a cancer patient in the Broadway production “Wit,” Nixon in effect supports the nurture theory, contradicting contentions of the Gay Lobby which demands people believe their inclinations are beyond their control.

The award-winning Nixon is nothing if not in control of her decisions and choices.

She had a 15-year heterosexual relationship with English professor Danny Mozes which produced two children and dumped Prof. Mozes of her own volition. She is now engaged to “education activist” Christine Marinoni who gave birth to “their” son last year.

Christianity and Leftist Atheism

Religion and faith are touchy concepts in a nation without a state religion and moreso in a country that has become as secular as ours where any public religious display is met by an uproar from the American Civil Liberties Union which consistently invokes a non-existent constitutional ”separation of church and state” clause.

The ACLU and other atheists hang their hats on the Constitution’s Second Amendment which in part reads, “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof.”

Those words reflect the Founding Fathers’ abhorrence of the idea of state religion and insistence on the right of absolute religious freedom but make no reference to banning religion from the public square.

Founded on fundamentally Christian principles, for over a century America thrived on religious precepts and evolved into a predominantly-Christian nation where, even today, 77% of our citizens describe themselves as Christians–despite ACLU protests to the contrary.

Nevertheless, the issues of religion and Christianity are far from fully resolved in America and continue to be raised by atheists and other godless people.

Religion became an issue in 1928 with Alfred E. Smith and in 1960 with John F. Kennedy, both Roman Catholics. It has again become a hot topic in 2012 because Republican presidential hopeful Mitt Romney is an adherent to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, a Mormon.

The point is, Does anyone’s religion or lack thereof really matter in the United States? Aside from radical faiths dedicated to our destruction, atheists, and the Left, it shouldn’t, yet it does.

Religion obviously matters to sixteen year old budding atheist Jessica Ahlquist, a junior at Rhode Island’s Cranston High School West.

Ms. Ahlquist protested, with help from the ACLU, against the display of a 49-year old “prayer banner” at Cranston. She succeeded in getting a federal judge to rule the banner unconstitutional and school officials to cover it up in spite of widespread community opposition.

The prayer addresses “Our Heavenly Father” and exhorts students to grow morally and physically, to be kind, helpful, honest, and friendly, and to smile.

Words Have Meanings, in Books and at Airports

Remember when your mother told you, “Words have meanings! Be careful of what you say because what you say can hurt people. What you say and how you say it tells others the type of person you are and what they will think of you.”

No? Well, I can’t remember my mom saying anything like that either. She was always too busy warning me not to play in the street and telling me to go wash my face.

But both spoken and written words can have powerful meanings and can be reflective of both the character of the speaker and the speaker’s estimation of the character of the addressee.

President Barack Hussein is very adept at using words, words and cliches fed to him by his handlers and dictated by his teleprompters, meaningless vocabulary like “hope,” and “change,” and “yes, we can.” He’s not so adept at dealing with those who disagree with him.

The notoriously thin-skinned Obama who early on in his run for the presidency expressed sensitivity over the obsession with his Dumbo ears and ruled out any political exploitatation of his daughters and then consistently exploited Malia and Sasha, met face-to-face Wednesday with Arizona governor Jan Brewer who seemed to mince no words with the president.

Brewer didn’t mention Dumbo but they did engage in a heated exchange on the Phoenix-Gateway Airport tarmac. Obama’s MSM and the leftist blogosphere have latched onto the photo of Brewer wagging her finger at the president of the United States as clear evidence conservatives have no respect for the presidency and as emblematic of conservatives’ disrespect for the country.

Based on a picture, the ever-objective, HufPo’s Michael Shaw described Brewer as “a reactionary governor, overflowing with the same lack of respect for the President as the radical far-right she’s aligned with” and called it an “ambush” despite raw video showing Brewer greeted him warmly with a big smile and handshake.

Although she had to publicly say Obama “loves his country,” the polite and dignified Gov. Brewer may have no respect for him at all but she is concerned over the integrity of America’s borders and has the deepest regard for our country, a concern and patriotic feeling the president has yet to demonstrate.

Full details of that brief airport contretemps and the contents of the letter the governor handed to Obama haven’t been released, and may never be.

However, it is known that the governor and the president weren’t happy with one another. He didn’t like her criticism of him in her book, Scorpions for Breakfast, she wasn’t pleased with his rudeness and walking away before she was done speaking.

(As an aside, sales of Scorpions for Breakfast skyrocketed after the finger-wagging picture hit the blogosphere.)

According to Politico.com, a disingenuous committed Obamian supporter, Brewer said, “He brought up my book. And he was a little tense. I asked him if he read [it] . . . and he said he read the excerpt and he didn’t think that I was very cordial. He was somewhat thin-skinned and a little tense to say the least. I was trying to be very calm.”

Believe it or not, news reports don’t always get stories accurate or complete and sometimes don’t get them at all.

Let’s start with one that received little play in the mainstream media, the commendable story of an NHL player who had the gumption to effectively tell the president of the United States to stick an invitation to the White House in his hat.

The belated invite was extended to the Boston Bruins almost a year late, coincidentally during a presidential election year, ostensibly to honor the team’s 2011 Stanley Cup championship.

Celebrated Bruins’ goalie, Tim Thomas, winner of the Vezina Trophy, opted to pass on the privilige of having the president pat him on the back–and get some much-needed publicity before November 6th.

Not content with the snub and surely causing cringing in the Bruins’ executive offices, Thomas explained the reasons for his protest.

As he said, ”I believe the federal government has grown out of control, threatening the rights, liberties, and property of the people,” although he backtracked slightly by adding that his decision “was not about politics or party, as in my opinion both parties are responsible for the situation we are in as a country.”

Thomas is right on all counts.

I wouldn’t even suggest Thomas believes President Barack Hussein Obama is the primary reason “the federal government has grown out of control, threatening the rights, liberties, and property of the people” and I extend him kudos for having the nerve to speak his mind and absent himself from an obviously political campaign appearance.

Another story relates to the historical accuracy of producer George Lucas’ newly-released film “Red Tails.”

Acclaimed by everyone except the people who understand movies, film critics, “Red Tails” is a World War Two action flick featuring a virtually all-black cast and dealing with the exploits of the U.S. Air Corp’s Tuskegee Airmen, an anomoly at the time in a segregated military.

There is no doubt as to the racial segregation in our military prior to President Truman’s abolition of the practice in 1948. Likewise, there is no doubt the Tuskegee black fliers served their nation well in WWII primarily in bomber escort missions with the 332nd Fighter Group.

There is, however, much doubt concerning the Tuskegee Airmens’ claim for tears that they never lost a bomber during those European missions. There are also substantiated reports they sometimes acted less than heroically and less than competently. . .

WMAQ in Chicago Censors Life

Chicago, City of the Shady Shoulders, legendary for political corruption and its murder rate, can now be called Censorship City as well thanks to WMAQ-TV. In defiance of federal law, the NBC affiliate is refusing to air a pro-life Super Bowl ad sponsored by Randall Terry.

Randall Terry isn’t exactly a household name and has as much of a chance of being elected president as I do but he is very well-known in anti-abortion circles and raised sufficient funds to run the ad in 25 venues throughout the country on Super Bowl Sunday.

Despite the fact the 30-second spot was accepted and will air in Boston, Kansas City, Minneapolis, St. Louis, and in other locales, NBC’s WMAQ essentially told Terry they would break the law and refused to run it.

With reasonable cause for suspicion, Terry believes Chicago’s Democrat machine headed by Mayor Rahm Emanuel, President Barack Hussein Obama’s former Chief of Staff, is behind the WMAQ decision to repress the free and legal expression of his pro-life views.

Obama, the most avid supporter of abortion ever to sit in the White House, couldn’t very well allow his hometown to embarrass him with facts, now could he?

As a bonafide candidate for federal office, Terry is entitled under FCC regulations to sponsor the ad and stations licensed by the FCC are required to air it or said license will be subject to revocation.

Anyone who has closely or even cursorily followed the actions, declarations, and proposals of candidate Barack Hussein Obama and the enacted socio-economic policies of the Obama presidency has to be aware that he represents the greatest threat to domestic and international tranquility in the history of the United States.

Obama’s slip-of-the-lip to Joe the Plumber in 2008 that his intent was to “share the wealth” should have alerted Americans to his radical Marxist inclinations, but it didn’t.

His repeated statements pitting rich against the poor, the haves against those who haven’t, should have informed the electorate that he was launching class warfare, but they didn’t.

His Justice Department’s black racist decisions and his demeaning of white Americans should have shown he was fostering racial antagonisms and pitting race against race, but they didn’t.

His foisting of Obamacare on the American people, a socialistic scheme designed to kill off the sick and elderly patterned on Britain’s failed NHS, should have proven he was far more committed to his legacy than to the well-being of Americans, but it didn’t.

His enthusiastic support for the revolutionist Occupy movement intent on subverting the capitalist system that has made America great should have been a giveaway that Obama wasn’t a real American, but it didn’t.

None of that evidence was sufficient to convince Obama idolators who still mindlessly subscribed to their illusion of Barack was their dream rather than what he is, a nightmare and a fraud.

The president’s designated apologist, Press Secretary Jay Carney, was hit with an easy question at his Monday press briefing, a simple query as to whether a picture of Saul Alinsky hangs in the White House. The reporter was motivated to ask since Newt Gingrich has reasonably claimed Obama’s vision comes from the man who coined the term, “community organizer,” Saul David Alinsky.

Amid titters, Carney scoffed, waffled, defended his boss’s background as a Chicago “community organizer,” and replied without answering the qustion, ”I’ll just leave it at that.”

I doubt there’s a framed portrait of Alinsky in the executive mansion. There would be no need since Alinsky extremist socialism is firmly embedded in this president’s psyche and philosophy so who needs a picture?

Alinsky never became a registered Communist. He was so full of chutzpa that he refused to be bound by Communism’s “doctrinaire, humorless and intellectually constipated” rigidity. Instead, he blazed his own trail of doctrinaire, humorless, intellectually constipated independence that served to supplement Communism’s and which, if anything, was more radical.

He virtually invented the job of community organizer, a euphemism for a rabble-rouser engaged in stirring social discontent and societal revolution and developed that profession on the streets of Chicago, the same streets on which his disciple Obama later practiced Alinskyite tactics.

As Linn and Ari Armstrong noted, “Beneath his [Alinsky's] platitudes about democracy and the ‘importance and worth in the individual,’ Alinsky reveals his core goal: to ‘use power for a more equitable distribution of the means of life for all people.’ “

Sound familiar? It should because Obama said much the same thing when he told Joe the Plumber that his aim was to “spread the wealth around” through political force.

Disturbed and Disturbing British People

I doubt any of us are 100% sane in our insane world but some of us are clearly nuttier than most. Two examples, not coincidentally from crazy ol’ England: a teen girl who pretended to be a teen boy and a child who can’t possibly know what “it” is.

They say teenage girls are often erratic, flighty, and ditzy. Of course, “they” say a lot of things and, when the “they” refers to adolescent boys, their motivations are often suspect.

What is less disputable is that many teens in the rapidly-crumbling Western World are acting sexier and acting out their new-found sexuality nowadays like they never have before.

Role models such as Miley Cyrus and the Spears sisters, television shows like “Glee,” increasingly lax dress codes and encouragement in schools partly explain the growing phenomenon as does Tyra Banks featuring teens proudly admitting they have kissed other girls.

There are also tons of anecdotal evidence that shows teens have been experimenting with lesbianism in showers and sleep-overs, frequently at the instigation of their male peers.

Across the pond, a teen–barely a teen at 19–has taken advantage of loosened moral codes and taken lesbian seduction to a whole new level by posing as multiple boys in order to date and grope younger girls.

Apparently, the enterprising Gemma Barker was very successful in her stratagem.

According to London’s Daily Mail, ”In an extraordinary deception, she created false alter egos so she could have sexual encounters with her 15 and 16-year-old victims,” wore baggy boy clothes, talked and acted like a boy, set up three different male Facebook profiles, and even convinced a victim’s family that she was a he.

The Mail didn’t report how, when, and where Barker was able to kiss, cuddle, and grope the girls who attended the same school she had attended without being discovered. Police made the gender discovery after a parent woke up and turned her in.

She was arrested, searched, and admitted her guilt on two charges of sexual assault and one of fraud.

Aside from obvious parental negligence in the case of Gemma Barker–that how, when, and where issue–there is the question of what Brit parents are thinking these days if they condone young boys’ intimacies with their daughters. The Barker affair is hardly the first.

Among others, three years ago, England was rocked by the smarmy tale of 12 year old Alfie Patten impregnating 15 year old Chantelle Steadman. Chantelle’s mum was fully aware they were sleeping together–in her home. As things turned out, a slew of other boys were sharing Chantelle and Alfie wasn’t the father. As of now, it seems Barker’s solicitors will go for a semi-insanity defense, claiming the defendant is autistic and “a very lonely character.” The judge thinks she’s “manipulative and mean.” Whatever she is, she is facing two years in prison.

Rep. Allen West, American Hero

Allen Bernard West was a virtual unknown entity outside the U.S. Army before he burst on the political scene in the Republican rout of 2010 when he was elected the first GOP African-American congressman from Florida in 134 years.

West is also an un-sung American hero.

Although I had read Rep. West was a conservative and Tea Party supporter, I hadn’t known anything about his military record or his outspoken and heroic sense of patriotism until recently.

The 50 year old West, who followed generations of his family in joining the Army in 1983, served for 21 years in the 325th Airborne Battalion Combat Team, the 377th Field Artillery Regiment, and the First Infantry Division among other posts, saw action in both Operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm and retired as a lieutenant colonel in 2004.

Those achievements alone command the respect and admiration of every American. On the other hand, the incident that led to his forced retirement deserves exposure as an example of our military’s official gutlessness and ignorance in conducting a war.

LTC West was relieved of his command after he was accused of assaulting an Iraqi prisoner in Taji suspected of plotting to ambush his men.

During intense combat, a few of those men under West’s command were captured and one suspected insurgent was also captured.

With the lives of American soldiers in danger and knowing what Iraqis customarily did to captives, when our interrogators were getting nowhere in locating the American prisoners, West forcefully demanded the Iraqi reveal the location of his soldiers. When he still refused, West placed his pistol near the prisoner’s crotch, fired, and advised him the next shot wouldn’t miss.

Evidently not as dumb as he looked and hoping to procreate more jihadists, the prisoner spilled his guts, the Americans were rescued, a jihadist-sympathizer alleged Lieutenant Colonel West had been guilty of misconduct, and the Army drummed him out.

Teacher Unions vs Education Vouchers, Home-Schooling, and Charter Schools

Forty years ago, a debate raged among public school teachers in New York State over the question of whether to affiliate themselves with labor unions.

The debate essentially centered on the issue of whether teaching was a profession or a trade. A compromise was reached with a semantical subterfuge when many teachers opted to continue calling their locals “federations” or “associations,” thereby retaining the illusion of professionalism, and joined the New York State United Teachers, “a union of professionals.”

Forty years ago, the American public education system produced graduates who could read, write, cipher, and think. Granted, we didn’t accomplish those goals as well as our forebears had but they didn’t have to compete with television and cultural and sexual revolutions. Still, we did a pretty damned good job–as contrasted with educators today.

Was the unionization of education the only cause in education’s transparent decline?

Not at all. Many teachers were already members of de facto unions which represented them in the same way they are represented today. Also, there are various outside influences on kids today which were present forty years ago but which hadn’t yet fully blossomed into the negative forces they are now.

And cell phones, iphones, Blackberries, smart phones, personal computers, and the Intenet didn’t exist.

Are teacher labor unions necessarily a bad thing? Again, not at all.

Teachers have greatly benefitted from the powerful clout of statewide and nationwide affiliations and school budgets have ballooned. They are not necessarily a bad thing, unless union extremism as seen in teacher participation in last spring’s riots in Wisconsin and the hardships inflicted on taxpayers by those balloons are factored in.

As a desperate response to failing public school systems often more intent on propagandizing than teaching, parents have resorted to a unique alternative, homeschooling their kids.

Teacher unions and their elected officials have fought tooth and nail against that desperation. Home-based learning effectively served as a denunciation of the inefficacy and the misguided values inculcated in public schools so what else could they do?

Education vouchers allowing parents to shop for the best elementary and secondary schools for their children represented an even greater threat to entrenched union interests and they, too, have been resisted as if they were a creation of the devil.

After all, if parents were permitted to pick and choose, they wouldn’t choose failing schools and would therefore put pressure on districts to compete by raising their level of instruction and discipline and to return to their fundamental pedagogical mission.

Both home schooling and education vouchers undermine America’s public education system and that’s not a bad thing either in light of the fact that system isn’t educating very well.

Another alternative to sending children to public schools that provide, at best, a babysitting service has sprung up in the past two decades: charter schools. If vouchers are the creation of some devil to teacher unions, charter schools must be the creation of Lucifer himself. . .

Animals in the News, Part Two: Human Animals

Part One of this 2-part series recounted three stories of what most people consider animals: rats infesting the D.C. Occupy encampment, pit bulls chewing off a man’s foot in Chicago, and a pet cat almost killing a Buenos Aires woman when it was tossed out of a fourth-floor window.

As unsettling as those stories are, there is another animal far more capable of arousing disgust, inflicting pain, and causing havoc than rats, dogs, or cats. Of the phylum Chordata, class mammalia, order primate, family Hominidae, sub-family Homininae, tribe Hominini, genus Homo, it’s most commonly known as Homo Sapiens.

As Part One concluded, human beings can act more animalistically than technically-lower species.

Of course, since those lower species never wage mass warfare–except maybe in “Rise of the Planet of the Apes”–some would argue that conducting war is irrefutable evidence of the human animal’s capacity to far exceed any other species’ devastation and carnage, an argument that has some merit.

Also worth consideration as evidencing the brutality of Homo Sapiens are the 50 to 60 million “legal” abortions in the United States since the Supreme Court decided on January 22nd, 1973 that human life was no longer sacred. Roe v. Wade has accounted for a far greater loss of life than all our wars combined and vivid testimony to man’s inhumanity to man.

However, let’s focus on a few less-profound yet equally-nauseating instances of man’s, and woman’s, animalistic inhumanity toward its own kind.

“Animalistic” may be a misnomer, though, because animals are programmed to protect their young. True, some eat their offspring when they’re starving and most abandon them when they are beyond survivability but none ever get drunk and leave them shivering in the cold while their mother goes to Mickey D’s.

Thirty-nine year old Farris Martin, allegedly, did just that in Sacramento, California to her nine and four year old children. Her kids were found huddling for warmth in the bushes as Ms. Martin was scarfing down McDonalds’ delectibles.

Martin was arrested on a felony charge of endangering the life or health of a child, is being held on $60,000 bail, and the kids are now hopefully warm and well-fed.

One example, or a thousand examples, of human neglect of common decency does not condemn our species to Hell but it sure helps. So, too, do glaring instances of convicted criminals using America’s benevolent court system to make a farce of justice not make us animals but they come close.

The cynical comedian W.C. Fields famously said, “Anyone who hates children and animals can’t be all bad.” Whether Fields was serious or not is debatable since he often performed with both children and animals and he financially supported his two sons even when he didn’t have to.

The point is that children and animals aren’t all that bad even though both can be difficult at times and even if both can turn vicious. Kids aren’t the subject of this piece, though; animals of various stripes are.

In the nation’s capital, so-called Occupiers have become a problem as they have wherever they’ve moved in. Newt Gingrich advised them a while ago to get a job and take a bath but they’ve done neither. What they have done in D.C. and elsewhere is create a sanitation hazard by breeding rats.

There are various kinds of rats in Washington but here I refer to the 4-legged kind infesting Freedom Plaza and McPherson Square, not the human vermin.

In what must be a PETA-inspired decision, D.C. health officials plan to pack the rats off to neighboring Virginia rather than exterminating them which would make more sense, except to the officials. To show their concern for family values, the braindead Washingtonians are also insisting on the impossible, capturing and exporting the rodents with their little rat families.

At least that’s the interpretation of the Wildlife Protection Act of 2010 by Virginia Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli who thinks the law is “crazier than fiction.” Gene Harrington, Director of the National Pest Management Association concurs saying, “Basically, federal and local government regulations have tied legal District rodent control practices in knots and made the management of such a problem much more complicated than it should be."

It’s all par for the course when governmental functionaries pretend they know what they’re doing.

Vote Early and Often!

The City of the Big Shoulders didn’t originate the idea of voting early and often, that is, subverting the electoral process by voters assuming false identities and casting numerous ballots to inflate final election tallies to help insure the Democrat candidates’ victories, but the Windy City perfected the scam.

Fifty-two years ago, Democrat Mayor Richard Daley’s Chicago succeeded in electing John F. Kennedy president of the United States with the help of thousands of dead people who amazingly found their way to the polls to vote for Jack and every other Democrat on the ballot.

This is not to suggest dirty politics is a phenomenon confined to the Democrat Party nor that it began in the twentieth century.

Dick Nixon is up there with the best in the dirty pantheon although, to his credit, he chose not to precipitate a constitutional crisis by challenging the 1960 election results and some have suggested that even Thomas Jefferson circulated incriminating pamphlets to trash his political opponents.

Being devious by nature, politicians have historically used other underhanded, unethical, and technically illegal electoral tricks of the trade including forgery, slander, libel, and payoffs to supplement ballot stuffing and elect their favorites, rarely resulting in legal consequences since the opponents had lost and authorities weren’t much interested in pursuing the guilty.

Even more rare is a pol not only admitting to voter fraud but brazenly claiming the practice is ”a normal political tactic” employed by Democrats and Republicans alike.

Taking their cues from Chicago, Troy, New York Democrats Anthony Renna, already found guilty of second-degree forgery, and Anthony DeFiglio, found guilty of falsifying business records, are now accused of ballot fraud but claiming, ”Voter fraud is an accepted way of winning elections, and faking absentee ballots was commonplace.”

Despite the fact there is no evidence that Troy Republicans have been engaged in any fraud, Renna and DeFiglio are obviously arguing that their conduct is defensible on the basis that besmirching the opposition will exonerate them.

And I always thought the childish defense of, “Mom! Everyone is doing it!” expired with puberty.

When the Bullied Become the Bulliers

Bullying in schools, a problem as old as schools, has become the most grievous sin that could be committed, worse than cheating on tests, fighting, and engaging in illicit acts, all of which commonly occur.

Teachers seducing students still ranks higher on the serious scale but bullying is now considered the most damnable offense a student can commit, so vile that the bullied are now being allowed the right to bully as reparation.

The anti-bullying campaign in America has been fostered by no less than the president of the United States and his wife who warned of the destructive consequences of bullying and co-hosted a White House Conference on Bullying Prevention last year.

There have been no White House conferences on the subject of the dire state of American education so, obviously, bullying is a far more critical concern.

Obviously, too, the administration is more concerned over a particular type of bullying than about bullying in general, about geeks being stuffed into lockers or jocks intimidating nerds. The tip-off as to the gay focus of Barack Hussein Obama’s campaign was his bizarre appointment of a homosexual activist and facilitator of child sexual predation, Kevin Jennings, as his “safe schools czar.”

Dumb and Dumber: Newsweek and Andrew Sullivan

It may be childish and immature to call someone or some groups dumb although most of us, myself included, have hurled the dumb epithet at one time or another. Personally, lately I've mainly confined my allegations of dumb, stupid, inept, incompetent, etc. to politicians and their lackeys and always with bases in fact.

It’s one thing in casual conversation to call someone or some group dumb when they have acted or spokenly stupidly–Barack Hussein Obama and the Occupy Wall Streeters come to mind. It’s quite another when a formerly-respected journalist and national periodical label an entire political movement “stupid.”

The author of the "stupid" label in this week's Newsweek, which the magazine changed to "dumb" in its headline, was Andrew Sullivan, the conservative turncoat and exceptionally hate-filled homosexual and unabashed Obama-idolator known for his vituperative language. Sullivan is known, too, for his committment to the hackneyed Blame-Bush ruse, pinning all this president's failures on the previous administration.

Still, for Newsweek to publish its weekly featuring the headline, "Why Are Obama's Critics So Dumb?" subtitled, "Andrew Sullivan on the Man with a Plan," is so far beyond the propriety pale that it suggests Sullivan has succumbed to dementia and that one of Obama's prime MSM publications has succumbed to bankruptcy and doesn't give a rat's ass what the public thinks of it.

Cancer Sucks!

Saying “Cancer sucks!” is no great revelation to those stricken with that insidious disease or to family members and friends of the afflicted but it truly does suck.

One of the worst things about cancer–aside from the obvious–are the long-extant rumors that cures are available and that researchers and pharmaceutical companies prefer to conceal them since continuing the quest for cures and supplying over-priced drugs are such lucrative enterprises.

It’s the old, “If we can put men on the moon, why can’t we cure cancer?” question, a good and valid question best refuted by the facts that everyone from scientists to pharma execs–to Joe Blow and his family–are and can become victims of the BIG C.

Back when I was a kid during the Dark Ages of the 1950′s, we didn’t hear much about cancer. Most often we heard only shocked statements like, “They opened him up and it was all over his insides so they just closed him up,” and “he” soon died. No commentary on treatments, no praise of cures, not even miraculous interventions.

“He” or ”She” just died.

Today, things are different, very different, thanks mainly to the medical free enterprise system in which doctors and medical scientists haven’t been burdened, until lately, with government restrictions and inhibitions, free to develop innovative treatments, procedures, remedies, and cures.

I won’t vouch for an attack of conscience on the parts of cancer researchers or execs at Big Pharm but cancer treatments, ameliorative procedures, and successful cures are now widely available and effective. They’re not 100%guaranteed, but what is?

Come full implementation of Obamacare in 2014 when America fully commits to the model for our health care, Britain’s National Health Service, which picks and chooses who should live and who should die and save some money because hospital beds and doctors–and interest in preserving life–are in short supply, medical advances may come to a screeching halt.

Barack Obama and his fellow Obamians have used the unsettling image of “pulling the plug on grandma” as a tool to reduce protestors of Obamacare to the level of uninformed absurdists at the same time they know full well that not only will grandma’s plug be yanked but her hospital bed will be vacated before she is cold to make way for the next victim.

The best bet for grannie and anyone else afflicted with serious illnesses is to find cures for as many afflictions as possible before Obamacare kicks in and effectively says, Don’t bother.

Toward the end of curing one of the most pervasive and pernicious forms of cancer is to Think Pink Rocks.

Many millions of Americans assumed the race issue in this country was finally behind us after the election of the nation’s first black president in 2008.

After all, Barack Hussein Obama suggested as much, voters had expiated their baseless white guilt over slavery by voting for a black man, and African-Americans were elated over their achievement in nominating and electing, as my Irish mother would say, “one of their own.”

It was widely hoped that America had entered a new era of racial harmony with Obama’s inauguration.

Guess what? We didn’t and, in fact, race relations are far worse now than they had been in many decades and for a very good reason: The Obamas themselves continue to stir the race pot in order to keep it boiling through November and beyond.

Stirring, stirring, stirring.

Instead of attempting to fulfill his pledge to minimize the differences between people, to emphasize that the content of one’s character and not the color of one’s skin is what matters most, the president accents our differences by playing the always-electorally-potent race card.

What matters most to Obama is getting re-elected at any cost.

As he said last week at a D.C. fundraiser, “The very core of what this country stands for is on the line–the basic promise that no matter what you look like, no matter where you come from, this is a place where you could make it if you try.”

That idea of appearances over substance reiterated what Obama said to Latinos in October: “I believe America should be a place where you can always make it if you try; a place where every child, no matter what they look like, where they come from, should have a chance to succeed.”

No slouch when it comes to racial pot-stirring, the not “angry black woman” Michelle Obama asked a rhetorical question at yet another fundraiser: ”Will we give every child–every child–a chance to succeed, no matter where she’s from, or what she looks like?” (http://bit.ly/xyk6Up)

Could the theme of what we “look like” be code for race? Do bears defecate in the woods?

Regardless of where bears do their business, race agitator Rev. Al Sharpton now does his on MSNBC and never misses a chance to stir the pot, toss some incendiary racial ingredient into it, or make certain one of his talk show guests does.

South Carolina Democrat Party Chairman Dick Harpootlian served that function in a discussion on the election in which Harpootlian managed to link Monday’s Republican debate in South Carolina with racism, states’ rights, Martin Luther King, Abraham Lincoln, and the election of 1860–all within less than two minutes.

Harpootlian demonstrated his short memory by forgetting his Democrats debated on MLK Day 20008 and the dearth of his historical expertise when he said Lincoln signed the Emancipation Declaration in 1860–when the Civil War hadn’t even begun. Sharpton and his fellow black commentator Melissa Harris-Perry took it from there and lambasted Republicans for virtually desecrating MLK Day by debating as evidence of their innate racism. . .

Proof that Educated, Classless People Can Become President

Unfortunately, the Constitution doesn’t stipulate that a president has to give a damn for and understand his country, be honest with voters, or have more class than an Occupy Wall Streeter.

College and law school grad, Chicago community organizer, absentee Illinois state senator, constitutional scholar, brief United States senator, current commander-in-chief of our armed forces, and leader of the Free World, Barack Hussein Obama, is devoid of any of those attributes.

He has been acclaimed as the most brilliant chief executive to ever establish residence in the White House despite the fact he is frequently reduced to a gaffe-prone, inarticulate gasbag when his trusty teleprompters aren’t around and he considers it panache to discuss dog droppings.

Go figure.

President George W. Bush was also known to put his foot in his mouth and his “Bushisms” are still lame comic fodder for Leno and Letterman but Bush’s gaffes don’t compare with Obama’s.

Leno, Letterman, and their liberal coterie dare not ridicule The Anointed One, the man Michelle Malkin aptly labeled “the Gaffe Machine” and whose mainstream media customarily ignores or soon buries Obama’s factual mistakes, dumb solecisms, and expressions of outright ignorance.

The president’s frequent excursions into foolery and foolishness have often been documented here and in the rest of the conservative blogosphere even if the MSM pretends they never happened.

There is no need to elaborate on Obama’s 57 states, his reference to “corpsemen,” his inability to speak Austrian, his confusing Jews with janitors and living versus dead Medal of Honors winners, his “intellectual stammering,” or the whole host of his other foul-ups.

They have become the stuff of legend, legendary gaffery which future liberal historians will someday discover and dismiss as vile, misleading partisan claptrap just as Mrs. Obama has dismissed the unflattering revelations of Jodi Kantor in The Obamas.

Two new examples of “misleading partisan claptrap” have recently emerged.

Neither is of monumental significance in the greater scheme of presidential politics although both provide great insight into our beloved leader.

One reveals a heretofore-unknown and shocking facet of Barack Obama’s life, the other displays what most Obamian critics have long known–that he sorely lacks both discretion and class.

Hollywood and Other Liberal Hypocrites

Scratch a liberal often enough and you’ll always uncover a bigot–and a hypocrite.

No less a figure than George Lucas of Star Wars fame has discovered that fact of life and called out Hollywood liberals–if that’s not redundant–for its racism.

Accused of racism himself after the release of Star Wars due to the lack of inclusion of blacks, Lucas should have been prepared for the racial politics that exists in the Movie Capital of the World.

The famous film producer didn’t, couldn’t, express his feelings in those terms since he still has to work in Tinsel Town but he left no doubt what he meant during an appearance on ultra-liberal Jon Stewart’s ”Daily Show.”

The subject of Lucas’ charge concerned his film about the segregated Tuskegee Airmen in WWII, Red Tails, and Hollywood’s monumental disinterest in distributing the movie or having anything to do with it because, as he told Stewart, “It’s an all black movie. There’s no major white roles in it at all. It’s one of the first all black action pictures ever made.”

He also described Red Tails as “very patriotic, very jingoistic, very old-fashioned, corny,” which may have been another factor in Hollywood’s refusal to assist Lucas even though he financed the filming on his own.

Bigotry is acceptable in Tinsel Town but they cringe at patriotism there saying, “No. We don’t know how to market a movie like this. . . And they don’t believe there’s any foreign market for it. That’s 60 percent of their profit.”

In other words, the big wigs wouldn’t distribute Red Tails because it was all about blacks, was patriotic AND, as is typical with “black movies,”didn’t have enough profit potential to stuff their wallets.

Maybe if Lucas’ next effort involves African-Americans bad-mouthing their country, he’d get more support from Hollywood hypocrites.

Hypocrisy–and deception–are rampant in Liberal Land and the current effort to resurrect and refurbish President Barack Hussein Obama’s mentor and pastor of 20 years, Rev. Jeremiah “God Damn America” Wright, is probably the most blatant in Washington.

In the event no one has noticed, 2012 is an election year and the president is in the process of “pulling a Clinton,” that is, ostensibly moving to the middle of the socio-political spectrum, transforming into a “moderate,” in hopes of concealing the extremist changes and dashed hopes of the past three years.

With the economy still a mess, there’s little hope in the White House of restoring any real economic hope before November 6th so rehabilitating Obama’s radical background is one way he can forestall anticipated Republican campaign attacks on his extremist past and his far-out leftist associations.

Obama’s old buddies, the un-reconstructed revolutionary Bill Ayers is as out there as he ever was preaching revolt to the Occupy Wall Street anarchists and Rev. Michael Pfleger has never given up his message of self-hating race hatred.

However, Rev. Wright has been relatively less-incendiary–relatively–since candidate Obama disowned him under pressure in the heat of the last campaign.

Therefore, close presidential adviser and confidante, David Axelrod, figured this was a good a time as any to re-hab the good reverend so that the Republican nominee can’t beat his boss over the head with Wright. Since the mainstream media ably assisted last time around in hiding the intimate Obama-Wright connection, the MSM should be onboard again.

Notwithstanding Wright’s history of denouncing white people as congenital liars, his mindless, vicious allegations that America brought on September 11th, 2001, that we caused the AIDS virus, that America is under the control of the KKK and supports terrorism, plus a slew of other craziness, Axelrod is defending the certifiable racist nut.

Axelrod contends that all the criticism boils down to “ninety seconds of vitriol plucked from thirty years of sermons by some enterprising opposition researcher.”

A teen member of the Girl Scouts of the United States of America is in the news and for the same reason another Scout made (some) headlines last month: They believe only girls should be Girl Scouts. More importantly, they believe in principles.

In December, 15 year old Sydney Volanski appeared on FNC’s “Fox and Friends” and outed the GSUSA as a sinister tool of the Democrat Party and has abandoned its mission as an apolitical advocate for American girls and had adopted that party’s ”progressive” goals.

Among other substantiated allegations, Ms. Volanski charged the GSUSA leadership with blatant propagandizing by guiding Girl Scouts seeking sources of information to such extremist sources as George Soros’ Media Matters, its own publication, MEdia, and to America’s premiere abortionist, Planned Parenthood.

In addition to that misguided guidance to purveyors of leftist propaganda, in the interests of promoting perverse diversity, the GSUSA has dropped the requisite mention of God from the Girl Scout Promise and promotes its own version of the military’s former “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” policy in regard to sexual orientation.

The articulate Ms. Volanski found all that “progressive” abandonment of Scout tradition and principles repugnant as did other Scout members and leaders who ultimately left the GSUSA after a transgendered, biological boy was admitted to their ranks.

Consequences, Intended and Not

Planning is usually a prudent thing to do and, usually, the planning pans out. Sometimes, though, especially when the planning is done by politicians, unintended consequences of misbegotten schemes make you wonder where the pols’ heads are.

Communist regimes are big on planning. Five Year Plans to re-vamp its economy were always a big favorite with the old U.S.S.R. commissars and always resulted in big failures.

One of the few sad remnants of Communism, North Korea, also has little luck when it comes to economics although it is spectacular in staging funerals. The recent obsequies for its late dictator Kim Jong-il were no exception.

North Korea demonstrated its expertise in not only planning its Supreme Leader’s funeral but in its consequences for hapless North Koreans who didn’t cry enough.

As an informant reported, within days of Kim Jong-il’s death, “The authorities are handing down at least six months in a labour-training camp to anybody who didn’t participate in the organised gatherings during the mourning period, or who did participate but didn’t cry and didn’t seem genuine.”

So much for Communism, so much for the dictatorship of the proletariat where the proles are forced to grieve for a bloody tyrant.

More relevant to Americans are interesting intended and unintended consequences in the U.S.

Last month, the FBI released a report indicating that violent crime in the U.S. fell 6.4 percent in the first half of 2011 and property crimes fell by 3.7 as contrasted with the same time 2010 time period.

That was the unexpected good news.

The bad news–for liberals who seek to disarm law-abiding citizens–is that the increasing number of armed law-abiding citizens in the country no doubt accounted in large part for the drop in crime.

As proven in Florida and elsewhere, criminals are far less inclined to maim, murder, and break into homes and businesses when their prospective victims are prepared to blow them away.

The intent of gun laws is to inhibit the unrestricted ownership of guns, the true consequence of which is to concentrate guns in the hands of criminals while denying honest Americans the right to defend themselves. The joke on liberals is that the latter stocking up on weapons to defend themselves serves as a deterrent against the former.

In a related issue, a presumed unintended consequence of excessive liberality has led to excessive violence.

A federal court judge decided last year that allegedly non-violent California prisoners were uncomfortable in their crowded facilities. He didn’t comment on the discomfort felt by their victims but did order California to give more space to the perpetrators. Strapped California had no money to build more prisons and chose instead to release thousands of convicted and accused “non-violent” offenders into society.

According to La Puente Mayor John Solis, his city and others are suffering the consequences of the judge’s beneficence. Solis reports that ”Sexual assaults are up about 300 percent and assaults with guns and knives up nearly 150 percent citywide” since the release of the reprobates.

He blames “prison realignment,” a euphemism for loosing barbarians in a state where gun laws are strictly enforced and a resultant explosion of barbarity.

Making Sense of the Senseless

A dog biting a man, especially a mailman, isn’t news. An illegal alien staging a witchhunt and a conservative endorsing a liberal, now those are odd–yet explicable–news stories.

Barack Hussein Obama’s Kenyan Uncle Omar Onyango Obama, brother of the president’s “dear Aunt Zeituni” who was also a fugitive from immigration law until she miraculously was granted asylum, is fighting his August arrest.

One would think someone who sneaked into this country illegally and ended up arrested would try to keep a low profile or, if he had any sense of decency, hop the next Kenya Airways flight to Nairobi. Not so with Uncle Omar who is trying to get a Massachusetts court to turn over the driving record of the cop who arrested him for a DUI, negligent operation of a motor vehicle, and failure to yield the right of way in Framingham, MA.

Notwithstanding established facts that Omar Onyango Obama flunked several sobriety tests with a reading of 0.14 percent on a blood-alcohol test, far beyond the Massachusetts’ legal driving limit of 0.08 percent, the high-powered lawyers of the president’s uncle are evidently attempting to impugn the officer’s integrity.

Also evident is that Uncle Omar has no fear of deportation.

After all, sister Zeituni beat that rap, went on to condemn “the system” that had discriminated against her, and is still on the Boston dole. Omar might be a leech like Zeituni but he knows his rights. When he was arrested, his first words were, “Take me to my leader.” Okay, more precisely, he said according to police records, “I think I will call the White House.”

I can understand the arrogance of Obama’s Uncle Omar, who was seen snickering at his arraignment, since Aunt Zeituni had already proven the inefficacy of America’s immigration law as well as the efficacy of presidential influence on behalf of his relatives.

Where and how the siblings, one unemployed and in public housing, the other a liquor store clerk, found the funds to retain attorneys and, in Zeituni’s case, file repeated appeals of deportation orders, is still a mystery but at least we know the basis of Onyango’s arrogance: He has a friend in the White House.

More mysterious is the matter of an outstanding conservative spokesman, John Bolton, endorsing for president of the United States a man whose conservative credentials are as ambiguous as those of Newt Gringich’s.

Wednesday evening, Bolton appeared on Greta Van Susteren’s “On the Record” where he seemed to back off his well-established conservatism with his endorsement.

An astute man, lawyer, advisor to presidents who served a tempestuous 16months as United States Permanent Representative to the U.N., Bolton is nobody’s fool.

Didja hear the one about the black friends who got all perturbed because they had to sit next to David Duke on a Greyhound? How about the black welfare queen who was upset over the size of her check? Or the joke about the black couple arguing over who was the real father of their kids?

You think saying such things isn’t funny, that they’re racist, that they should be condemned by the mainstream media, and the home of whoever articulated such insensitive remarks should be picketed by Al Sharpton? If so, you’re right because they are racist.

However, if someone spouts comparable venom on network television, they’re applauded–as long as the butt of the jokes are white people.

Former NBA star Charles Barkley hosted “SNL” last Saturday and appeared in a sketch titled, “White People Problems.”

According to Barkley and the “Saturday Night Live” writers, the “problems” of white people consist of friends irritated because they weren’t seated together on an airline, “a caucasian crisis” occurred when an annoying white customer at Arbys questioned the clerk as to whether Arbys’ chickens are raised on organic farms, and when a nasty white couple was confronted with the dilemma of disinviting friends from their 5-bedroom summer home.

Interspersed throughout the skit are a shot of “nursery school applications,” Barkley’s comment that the airline couple’s issue is just “white noise,” his dismissing the Arbys’ incident as ”awkward . . . a white people word that can be applied to every situation,” and blowing off the disinviters with, ”That problem is so white it should go snowboarding. . . .

La Raza is on the rise.

Wait, you’ve never heard of La Raza and don’t give a hoot whether it rises, falls, or turns purple?

That’s understandable if you don’t live in America’s southwest or out on the Left Coast. There, people are very familiar with at least the name “La Raza” even if many don’t understand the movement or its goals.

La Raza, “the race” in Spanish, doesn’t refer to a marathon or a sprint but rather to the National Council of La Raza, the NCLR, and the Movemiento Estudiantil Chicano de Aztlan, MEChA.

What? You’ve never heard of Aztlan, the NCLR, or MEChA either?

Fear not, you soon may, although it’s doubtful you’ll hear or read much in the mainstream media about the plan of the radical, revolutionary La Raza to re-claim huge swaths of America’s southwest for Mexico to re-unify it under the mythical Mexican kingdom of Aztlan.

You soon may because President Barack Hussein Obama has just named former La Raza Vice President, Cecilia Muñoz, to the post of White House Domestic Policy Director. After serving for three years as Obama’s point woman on legalizing illegals, Muñoz will now be in charge of administering and executing the nation’s domestic policies.

She will also serve as a high-profile Latino during an election year in which the president is desperately seeking the Latino vote to put him over the top in November.

What’s wrong with this picture? Tons!

Aztlan or Aztatlian never existed except in Mexican legend yet La Raza is unabashedly dedicated to waging war on what it calls the “northern front” to seize lands allegedly stolen with the 1848 signing of the Treaty of Guadalupe-Hidalgo.

That treaty concluded the Mexican-American War won by the United States and stripped Mexico of a full 55% of its territory.

Considering that La Raza is waging its vindictive and mindless war under the banner of a myth, its ambitions are breathtaking: Those lands now encompass the entirety of the states of Colorado, California, Arizona, Texas, Utah, New Mexico, Oregon, parts of Washington, and would increase the size of Mexico by a full third, not to mention converting tens of millions of Americans into Mexicans.

It’s doubtful Cecilia Muñoz will be able to win the second Mexican-American war or accomplish that re-unification in her new role as National Domestic Policy Director.

Abortion News: Good, Bad, and Worse

Unlike the weather, few people like talking about abortion. Nevertheless, much like the weather, abortion is real and omnipresent. A principal difference is that the weather is sometimes beautiful and abortion is always ugly.

In America, the foundation of the right to legally kill a pre-born child is rooted in the Supreme Court’s split 1973 Roe v. Wade Decision based on a woman’s non-existent constitutional right to privacy. Just as with SCOTUS’ flawed 1857 Dred Scott Decision, Roe v. Wade will some day be overturned.

In the interim while we await that surety, the most committed pro-abortion president in history, Barack Hussein Obama, may have inadvertently provided the next president a precedent to scrap Roe v. Wade or, at the minimum, render its enforcement useless.

By announcing he has the authority to bypass Congress and rule by executive decree and by making so-called recess appointments when the Senate was not in recess, Obama has established two principles: First, that the Chief Executive has the power to govern by fiat and, second, that he can appoint Supreme Court justices without the advice and consent of the Senate whenever he determines that body is in recess, whether they are or aren’t.

Of course, that whole scenario is a stretch. It’s based on the assumptions that the next president will be a pro-life Republican, that he is not a “constitutional scholar” like Obama, but that he flouts the laws of the land anyway.

Unfortunately, that stretch is the only recent plus in the ongoing battle of the Abortion Lobby against those who believe in the sanctity of human life.

Two stories–not scenarios–reveal that the Planned Parenthood Federation of America, PPFA, is a conglomeration of liars and that a recommended abortafacient drug can be almost as deadly to mothers as it is to babies.

The PPFA has for decades billed itself as a beneficent enterprise dedicated to, well, planning parenthood, providing pre-natal care and information on “reproductive health,” etc. As such over the years, it has been generously rewarded for its beneficence with billions of taxpayer dollars with which to continue its planning and caring and informing despite the fact it functions primarily as the nation’s busiest abortionist.

Exposed repeatedly as facilitators of child prostitution, purveyors of smut to children, and illegally performing underage abortions, PPFA still has friends in Congress and a major buddy in the White House, all of whom refuse to cut its public funding–46% of its billion dollar budget.

In view of Planned Parenthood’s annual report, rational thinkers might expect its supporters would re-evaluate their position but don’t bet on it. . .

Writer Jodi Kantor had better watch her back. Her simply-titled book, The Obamas, set to be released January 10th, is simply a blockbuster which could bust the White House.

Described in part on Amazon as, ”Filled with riveting detail and insight into their [the Obama] partnership, emotions and personalities, and written with a keen eye for the ironies of public life, THE OBAMAS is an intimate portrait that will surprise even readers who thought they knew the President and First Lady,” the book does far more than that.

The tell-all book based on interviews with 30 administration aides exposes the First Couple as frauds and dissemblers, liars and back-biters.

Pre-release details of The Obamas have been leaking out in little dribs and major drabs and one of the latter is that during the depths of the Great Recession in 2009, Obama and Company threw a Halloween party at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue that would have rivaled anything Hollywood or Broadway could have ever conceived.
In fact, Hollywood may have conceived it. At least Tinseltown was well- represented at the Alice in Wonderland-themed event, with megastar Johnny Depp, director Tim Burton, and Star Wars’ Chewbacca along with White House staffers, military families, and D.C. kids in attendance as well as the mainstream media.

Sounds like an extravaganza, right?

Well, it seems to have been–with the state dining room decorated by Burton in full Halloween regalia, Depp decked out as the Mad Hatter, Michelle Obama as a black and yellow cat, fruit punch served in blood vials, huge stuffed animals, etc.

The Advantages of Having Friends in High Places

Call them friends in high places or connections or contacts, knowing people with influence in positions to grease the skids for jobs, perks, or to just plain help you out is an inestimable advantage in America. In turn, when political friends come through, it translates into votes for the politicians.

Forget qualifications, education, merit, or need. Nothing is more beneficial than knowing someone with some pull to get you what you want. And, who has more pull than the current resident of the White House?

Unions have been calling in their chits ever since they blindly–or not so blindly, considering the benefits they reaped– supported the passage of the Obamacare abomination. They have been reaping ever since in the form of wholesale waivers from the onerous burdens of the Democrat-sponsored 2009 Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, the law VP Biden called “a big f*cking deal.”

Over the last six months alone, 543,812 union members have joined federal employees, Congress, and the president in being exempted from Obamacare, a number dwarfed by the millions of unionistas granted exemptions prior to last June when Obamians allegedly turned off the exemption spigot after it came under public scrutiny.

Reliable friends in high places may retreat but, if they’re truly dependable and know where their bread is buttered and with an election approaching, they continue their friendship.

Other deep-dyed Friends of Obama are his huge cadre of federal employees.

Their president saw fit to cut tens of thousands from the ranks of America’s military, forces missioned to defend and protect the nation, yet found it within his generous heart in the midst of the Great Recession to propose a salary increase for federal workers.

Albeit a modest raise of 0.5%, it’s far more than America’s millions of unemployed and underemployed will receive. Before their raise, the average civilian federal worker was raking in $75,296 plus benefits valued at $28,323 versus average $46,326 salaries and vanishing bennies in the private sector.

Now the people who don’t answer their phones in Washington will be getting a few thou extra to not answer their phones.

The 1939 Hatch Act prohibited federal employees from engaging in partisan political activities, a restriction lifted in 1993 after three union leaders were accused of violations. The result? Federal employes are no longer precluded from contributing to political campaigns or from working on behalf of their favorite politicians.

Who was it called them civil servants? They’re more like a civilian army under the command of the man who pays them.

In addition to that army of 2.1 worker bees and his union armies of millions more, a third contingent of those owing a deep debt of gratitude to their executive friend in the Oval Office is the Gay Lobby.

Tony Blankley, Requiescat in Pace

Author, political commentator, outstanding American conservative and patriot, Anthony “Tony” Blankley, died at 63 on January 7th, 2012.

He will be sorely missed.

Mr. Blankley’s career included roles as a child actor, 10 years service as a prosecutor in the California Attorney General’s Office, policy analyst- speechwriter for President Ronald Reagan, a 7-year stint as Newt Gingrich’s press secretary, lecturer on the university circuit, writer for the Washington Times, and sparring with Eleanor Clift on “The McLoughlin Group.”

One of Mr. Blankley’s greatest contributions to an understanding of what he perceived as the greatest threat to the survival of the United States and the Western World, Islam, was his semi-fictional, The West’s Last Stand: Will We Win the Clash of Civilizations?

He posited the theory that, in view of the pervasive Islamification of Europe, if we want to survive, America may have to go it alone.

Affable when he wanted to be, acerbic when he had to be, to the end, Blankley battled for conservative causes as tenaciously as he battled stomach cancer. As recently as last fall, he was publishing incisive articles on TownHall.com, including the poignant, reflective piece titled, “Thanksgiving 2011.”

A naturalized American born in Britain, Blankley wrote of that “enchanting month from Thanksgiving through Christmas to New Years,” commenting on mankind’s narrow escapes from a catastrophic conclusion, the fall of the USSR, 9/11/2001, the rise of radical Islam, the resurgence of China, the economic crash of 2008, the incompetence of Washington, and the chaos in Europe.

In a very real sense, Tony Blankley’s concluding paragraph in “Thanksgiving 2011″ capsulized both the essence of Tony Blankley and his understanding of what makes America America.

He wrote, ”Our founding words and ideas are ever young. They are imperishable. And we should not wander from our faith in them. On America’s Thanksgiving Day 2011, we should be thankful for what our founding Fathers created and bequeathed to us and to the world. Suffer Little Children

The oft-misinterpreted phrase from Matthew 19:14 in the King James version of the Bible, “Suffer little children,” has taken on meanings in the world today far beyond excluding kids from hearing Christ’s words.

The precise quotation, “But Jesus said, Suffer little children, and forbid them not to come unto me: for of such is the kingdom of heaven,” has been adapted to everything from a short story by Stephen King to pop songs with entirely different connotations which are far more bothersome.

Kids are probably suffering more in 2011 than ever before for various reasons.

In addition to abortion statistics and the act of abortion itself which involves the ultimate suffering, death in the womb for babies before they get the opportunity to grow into children, there is other appalling evidence that fewer people really care about kids.

The disturbing values of some Muslim immigrants have compounded the already-distubed prevailing culture of devaluing human life in America and throughout the so-called civilized world. Both have contributed exponentially to childhood suffering.

Two stories out of England, one relating to atrocities in Liverpool, the other to one in Harlem, graphically illustrate the problem.

The Liverpool matter actually involves a combination of atrocious events–vicious and “endemic” gang rapes by Muslim men of young non-Muslim girls and a concerted effort by journalists to cover them up in the interests of discouraging “racists” and “fascists” and promoting “the development of social harmony and well-being.” (http://bit.ly/wU2QRx)

As Brits would say, What poppycock!

On January 3rd, eleven Muslim men–Abdul Aziz, Abdul Qayyum, Abdul Rauf, Adil Khan, Hamid Safi, Kabeer Hasan, Liaqat Hussain Shah, Mohammad Amin, Mohammad Sajid, Qamar Shahzad, and Shabir Ahmed–went on trial in Liverpool for the organized gang rapes.

According to an authoritative source and in accordance with the guidelines of Britain’s National Union of Journalists, NUJ, “You’ll not find a single reference to their crimes or their upcoming trial anywhere in the British media. Anywhere.”

The Koran condones Muslim men engaging in sexual intercourse with chattel, that is, with captive women and slave girls. With all the rights and privileges that have been accorded Muslims throughout Europe, they apparently feel nubile infidels are fair game, tantamount to captive slaves.

Almost worse, the British media obviously concurs since they won’t report to the public on the trial of the rapists. They apparently feel publicity would exacerbate native Britons’ justified fury over Muslim interlopers destroying their country, and their children.

Maybe when the daughter of a NUJ member is gangraped, NUJ rules will change. And maybe not.

Meanwhile, as young Liverpudlian girls and their European sisters in pain suffer at the hands of Muslims so, too, do Harlem youngsters suffer–with the qualification that the latter don’t seem to mind their suffering. . .

Karl Heinrich Marx was a brilliant man. The sage co-founder of one of the two principal social scouges of the twentieth century knew the surest path to godless tyranny was centralized control of schools, colleges, and universities.

Marx recognized Communism-Marxism’s critical need to propagandize the young in order to rid them of anti-proletariat ideas inculcated by parents and churches and for public schools to adopt curricula that denies God, morality, traditional family values, the concept of private ownership of property, and to stoke class warfare.

If any of that sounds familiar, it should. America is experiencing Marxism-in-action today as seen not only in tax policies but in the widespread, leftist radicalism on college campuses and public schools becoming hotbeds of social brainwashing to complement the deteriorization of standards and learning.

We are seeing the patently unconstitutional intrusion of the federal government into local education with dictates, mandates, and oversights by the U.S. Department of Education as it rapidly centralizes control of American education.

We are witnessing the leftist National Education Association busily engaged in discouraging parental choice and home-schooling and fully endorsing those federal intrusions while pushing for inclusion and diversity instead of more effective education.

We are burdened with local districts too feckless to denounce governmental encroachments and administrators too imbued with liberal doctrine to resist the leftward lurch toward the Marxist ideals embraced by our president.

To be sure, there were unmistakable signs of controlled centralization- indoctrination long before the election of Barack Hussein Obama.

Since 2009, however, those signs have developed into a full-blown tsunami of Marxist doctrinaires and godless subversives acting under the guise of educators, all of whom were committed adherents to Obama’s twisted Marxist philosophy, many of whom signed on to his carefully-designed cult of personality.

At first, it was comical when schools like one in Hempstead, New York re-named themselves after Obama even before he was elected. Another in Asbury Park, New Jersey did likewise, before it was closed last July.

Throughout the nation, countless schools, localities, school districts, and streets changed names in honor of someone whose primary claim to fame was his (partial) blackness, whose father was a Marxist, and who has governed as if he dreams the collectivist dreams of his father.

Indoctrination of children comes in many colors. One favorite ploy is the use of songs.

A classic was the ditty composed by a black New Jersey teacher in 2009 who forced her class to sing a paean to their new god. Its unmemorable lyrics included, Mmm, mmm, mm!/Barack Hussein Obama/He said that all must lend a hand/To make this country strong again. . .” It gets worse with, ”Mmm, mmm, mm!/ Barack Hussein Obama/Yes!”

The parody is a vast improvement: “Mmm, mmm, mm!/Barack Hussein Obama/He said we must pay the man/To make this country strong again/Taking your money doesn’t matter/’cause we know He can spend it better. . .”

That song is old hat now. Obamamarxists have expanded their musical vistas to incorporate anarchic elements in their efforts to undermine values and seduce children into believing chaos and revolution were superior to order and civilized behavior. . .

Her Excellency, Lady Obama

It’s hard to tell whether the SADHILL picture of the FLOTUS on IOwntheWorld.com looking as if she had a load in her pants has been photo-shopped or if Michelle Obama was getting ready to limbo.

Whatever the circumstances, the shot is emblematic of the controversy that has surrounded her for years. She has certainly not been controversial on the MSM which absolutely adores her and everything she does, says, and wears but more objective observers who know what our FLOTUS has done, said, and believes are aware she’s a trip.

I know, I know. It’s gauche to negatively comment on the wife of the president of the United States. Then again, America has never had a presidential wife like Michelle LaVaughn Robinson Obama–thank God!–and, unlike most of her predecessors, she invites criticism.

Not a very discreet–or stylish–woman, Mrs. Obama recently tipped her haughty hand when she conceded she rather likes being called “Your Excellency.”

Michelle appeared in a cameo role on the Nickleodeon sitcom, “iCarly” and a character refers to her as “Your Excellency.” Another character corrects him since it’s inappropriate to refer to First Ladies in such a manner. Cameo Michelle in turn corrects her by saying, “No, no, I kind of like it.”

And that she would.

“Your Excellency” melds very well in the imperial administration of her husband who recently announced his intent to rule by executive decree and bypass congressional authority. As his consort, Lady Michelle is clearly entitled to that description even if both she and Emperor Barack are oblivious of the fact the United States is a constitutional republic.

This isn’t the first time Lady O has displayed her ignorance of what the U.S. is all about. She has also caused deep suspicions as to her character, personality, and patriotism.

Her unguarded remark four years ago received little attention from the mainstream media but that didn’t mitigate how revealing it was.

Scant notice or not, along with her husband’s subconscious revelations of what he had planned for America, Michelle Obama’s 2008 confession told Americans enough to disqualify them from setting up residence in the White House.

Subsequent to Michelle’s gaffe, Barack conceded his socialistic philosophy of governance when he told “Joe the Plumber” he wanted to “share the wealth.” She, however, had outdone him in self-revelation by saying, “For the first time in my adult life, I am really proud of my country because it feels like hope is finally making a comeback.”

That admission of hopelessly living in America for 44 years devoid of any pride in America came just before the Wisconsin primary in February, 2008. It was almost inexplicable considering her background.

Little surprises me about liberal insensitivity and intolerance anymore even though some things they say, write, and do shock the conscience of anyone with a modicum of decency.

They have exhibited their true colors over the years, among other exhibitions castigating Sarah Palin for bearing in lieu of aborting her youngest child, calling Laura Ingraham a “talk slut,” ceaseless fat jokes about Chris Christie, and on and on and on.

However, nothing has better exposed liberals-leftists-Democrats for what they are than more recent examples of crude, insensitive intolerance toward Rick Santorum.

Following in the footsteps of such libs as Ed Schultz, Rachel Maddow, Chris Matthews, Bill Maher et al., political commentator Alan Colmes feels free to launch viciously outrageous ad hominem salvos at conservatives and, like his fellow bomb-throwers, gets away with it.

Last Monday, Colmes’ hurled his latest insult at GOP presidential contender Santorum during a Fox News segment when he predicted the former Pennsylvania senator’s Iowa surge wouldn’t last.

That evaluation was reasonable though incorrect, the basis for his view was unreasonable and downright nasty.

Colmes speculated that voters would turn on Santorum as soon as they “get a load of some of the crazy things he’s said and done, like taking his two-hour-old baby when it died right after childbirth home and played with it so that his other children would know that the child was real.”

Rich Lowry rightly and promptly jumped all over Colmes for his “cheap shot” in disgracefully impugning both Santorum and his family and misinterpreting Santorum’s actions after the premature birth and sadly-abbreviated two-hour lifespan of baby Gabriel Santorum in 1996.

As John Hayward opined on HumanEvents.com, Colmes’ comment “wasn’t a random slip of the tongue” and was planned to demonstrate how proudly astute he is. Hayward observed that, “For an ostensibly ‘tolerant liberal,’ Colmes is deeply, disturbingly obsessed with cultivating intolerance for this unusual act of devotion.”

“Ostensibly” is the key word. For liberals, sensitivity and tolerance are reserved for people who would have aborted Gabriel instead of attempting to save his life.

That same twisted, restricted sense of “tolerance” extends to how liberals in the mainstream media in America and abroad react to expressions of Muslim faith as opposed to comparable Christian observances.

Basically in the liberal nutshell: Christians bad, Muslims good.

Denver Broncos’ quarterback, Tim Tebow, has been lambasted, ridiculed, and abused for what is termed, Tebowing, i.e. kneeling to thank God for his good fortune. Tebow, a committed Christian, pro-life, decent guy–all of which characteristics rankle liberals–feels it is his right and duty to publicly demonstrate his faith . . . There’s really no need for whoever wins the Republican nomination for president to campaign much at all. President Barack Hussein Obama has provided more than enough ammunition over the past three and a half years to send him back to Illinois, or Hawaii, or wherever he came from.

This is another story his mainstream media will downplay or bury but it doesn’t matter this time around–as long as the Republican National Committee has the funding to circulate its complilation of what is being called “the book” and to run powerful television ads like the one recently shown in Iowa.

In no way can that one minute video be construed as an attack ad, unless commentary by Bill Clinton (“We’re going in the wrong direction”), Maxine Waters (“We don’t know what the strategy is”), Chris Matthews (“Is this as good as it gets?”), and his admission of failure (“I don’t think people are better off than they were four years ago”) are considered attacks.

In addition, interspersed among those observations by Obama stalwarts are headlines blaring truths about poverty and unemployment which the president can deny only if he contends CBS, the Washington Post, and MSNBC are a bunch of liars.

As for “the book,” it contains some 500 pages of presidential quotations and video links highlighting the candidate and the president’s unfulfilled promises, pledges, and boasts. Though not yet released, WaPo somehow got hold of portions and ”reviewed” them. (http://wapo.st/uB81ri)

The review by an eminent member of Obama’s MSM described the untitled tome as “The new GOP playbook designed to take one of Obama’s great assets–the power of his oratory–and turn it into a liability.”

One could easily take issue with the claim of Obama’s oratorical power. His speeches are more akin to demagogic, telepromptered blatherings to worshipful, untutored audiences. In any event, “the power of his oratory” isn’t disputed in “the book.” The “liability” rests in what he has said, not in how he said it.

For some very explicable reason, true conservatives give liberals the heebie-jeebies.

Of course, the Obama attack machine consisting of the DNC and all his re-election affiliates and the president’s mainstream media is geared to rip any and all Republicans daring to oppose or speak ill of The Anointed One but their venom really gushes out when the threat is a conservative.

The attack machine mobilized its prodigious forces when Michelle Bachmann, Herman Cain, and Rick Perry scrambled to the top of the crowded Republican field and shot down each in turn, digging, digging, digging until they could find some dirt on the candidates and, when they couldn’t dirt, simply manufactured the venom.

They scored big time with Cain who seemed to have almost as many lady friends as their living icon, Bubba Clinton, and had to settle for undefined character assassination and baseless abuse of Bachmann’s and Perry’s I.Q.s.

In the week leading up to the Iowa caucuses, former Senator Richard John Santorum gained some traction and moved to the top of the Democrat hit list.

As Iowans trudge off to their caucuses, it’s worthwhile to re-consider the burning question, What is it about conservatives that gives liberals those heebie-jeebies. . .

Holiday Peculiarities on CNN and in the Church of England

We’re in the midst of what some call the silly season which is often less silly than it is peculiar, unsettling, and scary. When former NBAer Dennis Rodman announces he’s assembling a topless women’s basketball team, it can be considered just another Rodman oddity.

Other oddities are much more bothersome.

When a Northeastern University Muslim chaplain, Abdullah Faaruuq, who advocates using “the gun and the sword” to advance Islam in America, is subsidized with American taxpayer dollars, it’s outrageous, not silly.

When Bill Maher can get away with tweeting, “Wow, Jesus just f*cked TimTebow bad! And on Xmas Eve!” it’s obscenely offensive.

When the Rose Bowl Committee chucks time-honored tradition and permits OWS crazies to render farcical the Rose Bowl Parade, it’s a sign people have lost their minds.

Still, the holidays also have lighter moments: Home celebrations and office holiday parties sometimes deteriorate into odd events where Uncle Harold dons a lampshade and the 70 year old boss hits on the 22 year old intern. They are somewhat excusable due the effects of over-indulging in holiday cheer–and booze.

However, Uncle Harold’s excessive celebration and the boss’s befuddlement don’t hold a candle or a bottle to ostensibly sober instances of asinine behavior in the television world and, of all places, in the Church of England.

New Year’s festivities on that bulwark of propriety, CNN, capped off this season’s excursions into the bizarre.

Hosted Saturday night by an exceptionally odd couple–staid, light in the loafers newsperson, Anderson Cooper, and foul-mouthed comedienne, Kathy Griffin–the cablecast featured a Griffin performance which she began by tickling her co-host and asking about his “nether regions.”

It got better.

As revelers reveled in Times Square, the exhibitionist Griffin didn’t drop an F-bomb as she did last year and instead dropped her clothes, stripping down to her Victoria Secret bests and prancing about for the crowd just minutes before the ball dropped and Cooper’s jaw pretended to drop.

Cooper quickly flashed a “NO NUDITY” sign–evidence that the act was staged–and complimented her “hot body.” That observation must be qualified by Cooper’s unfamiliarity with female bodies, hot or not, and by the fact Griffin’s body can be described as “hot” only by Griffin or by the visually-challenged.

David Rodham-Gergen called in and Griffin suggestively invited the RINO–and his wife–to call her before, mercifully, putting her clothes back on.

Classy journalism, CNN, even for New Year's Eve!

I missed it because I was trying to get Uncle Harold to wear a hat in lieu of the lampshade but readers can view CNN’s odd couple in action on my blogsite.

Neither Kathy Griffin nor Anderson Cooper are very entertaining but, in their defense, they try, however lamely. The Church of England’s current Archbishop of Canterbury, doesn’t try at all to entertain yet, in a sick sense, is wildly hilarious. . .

2011 Sucked, 2012 Could Be Even Worse

On a personal, family level, 2011 was one of the worst years of our lives, but that’s our problem.

On national and world levels, 2011 sucked just as much with the added downer that, unlike us, 2012 holds the prospect of being even worse for the United States and the planet.

Of course, good things happened last year; they always do.

Navy Team 6 dispatching Usama bin laden was the highlight, an economy showing meager signs of improvement was less noteworthy but nevertheless a good thing, GOP candidates having the nerve to debate incessantly and make their opinions known to the electorate was a refreshing novelty, the stock market did fairly well, the Iraq War temporarily ended, and the number of abortions declined.

As is too often the case, the bad outweighed the good both at home and throughout the world in 2011.

Domestically, MSNBC and Bill Maher are still regurgitating, the economy is still wallowing in the doldrums, poverty is increasing as planned by the administration, our borders are farcical, and the nation suffered through a series of unprecedented natural catastrophes as well as social upheaval with 1960′s precedents in the persons of the Occupiers.

However, although Mother Natures’s onslaughts are inevitable and unavoidable, we are free to pull the plug on MSNBC and Maher, the economy will recover, the poor really aren’t really all that bad off, various states are attempting to perform the federal job of stemming illegal immigration, and the Occupiers are more and more recognized for the anarchists they are.

As opposed to those 2011 negatives with silver linings, above all else in the negative category is the fact Barack Hussein Obama still reigns as America’s Chief Executive.

The Death of the Girl Scouts

Anyone who has ever been a member of the Girl Scouts of the United States of America, a Scout leader, or active supporter of the GSUSA knows the organization has always been one of the finest in the country and the preeminent group advocating for American girls and young women.

Until recently.

Celebrating its 100th anniversary in 2012, the GSUSA boasts a membership of over 2.3 million girls aged 10 to 17. They used to recite the Girl Scout Promise: “On my honor, I will try: To serve God and my country, To help people at all times, And to live by the Girl Scout Law.”

Their Promise is similar to the Boy Scout Oath, except in regard to the reference to God which the GSUSA made optional in 1993. That decision followed one two years earlier to adopt a “Don’t ask, don’t tell” policy on sexual orientation. The earlier change was ostensibly made because the organization didn’t want “to intrude on personal matters”; God was dropped because a few people complained.

Both alterations of basic principles were made despite the fact virtually everything in the Girl Scout Law is “personal” and they were made in the interests of demonstrating the GSUSA adheres to the popular fascinations with diversity and inclusiveness.

Those fascinations represented the beginnings of Girl Scout political correctness and may have sounded the death knells of a once proud and honorable institution. The delayed ramifications of the GSUSA going PC were reflected in last month’s dissolution of troops and the recent exposé of Girl Scout attempts at political indoctrination.

As reported by the ChristianPost.com, and by few if any other media, “Three Girl Scout troops at a Christian school in Louisiana have disbanded in protest of a policy of inclusion for transgenders,” more precisely, accepting a biological boy into the Girl Scouts.

Regardless of one’s opinion of Sarah and Bill Tyler, parents of 8 year old Dana/Danann Tyler who indulged their son’s sexual identity confusion by allowing him to dress as a little girl, sent him to school lugging a princess lunch box, and bought him high-heeled slippers, we should all be able to empathize with the Louisiana parents.

Dana/Danann Tyler doesn’t seem to be the subject of the controversy in Lousiana–at last report, the Tylers lived in Southern California–and Christian Post doesn’t give the Louisiana boy’s name. Still, the situations are similar. Dana/Danann’s nationally-televised story was examined here in “Smile! It’s Transgender Awareness Week!”

The push for transgendered boys joining the Girl Scouts isn’t confined to either California or Louisiania. A Colorado mother also tested the GSUSA inclusion policy, was rejected by her local troop, called a press conference, then was heard from no more.

The Louisiana moms/scout leaders didn’t exactly give up, however.

They resigned their posts, disbanded their troops, and are considering re-alignment with an alternative group, American Heritage Girls, which is “dedicated to the mission of building women of integrity through service to God, family, community and country,” commitments now suspect in the GSUSA.

Fifteen year old Sydney Volanski is also commited. She’s committed to outing the GSUSA as a front for the Democrat Party and the progressive movement to undermine Girl Scouts’ integrity and non-partisan, apolitical tradition.

The amazingly-articulate teenager made an appearance on FNC’s “Fox and Friends” Thursday morning and revealed the heretofore unknown and un-publicized GSUSA campaign to seduce scouts into believing all the liberal media claptrap. . .

Bill Clinton’s old Secretary of Labor, the diminutive Robert Reich with an ego the size of Monica Lewinsky, is predicting a 2012 Democrat Party ticket of Barack Hussein Obama and Hillary Rodham Clinton to oppose the yet-to-be-designated Republican nominee.

In an article appearing on BusinessInsider.com, Reich concludes, “Obama-Clinton 2012. It’s a natural.”

If that prognostication were not enough to curl conservative hairs, Reich also thinks the bumbler-in-chief, VP Joe Biden, will switch jobs with Hillary and become America’s chief diplomat, Secretary of State, in a second Obama administration.

Alice could not have experienced more bizarre scenarios in that rabbit hole.

Admitting he has no foundation except intuition for his prediction, Reich believes Hillary is needed on the national ticket “to stir the passions” of a disillusioned Democrat base and because “Clinton would help deflect attention from the bad economy and put it on foreign policy, where she and Obama have shined.”

As an added bonus, Hillary would then be on the fast track for the 2016 Dem nomination.

There are more holes in Reich’s theory and in his shining observation than there are on all the golf courses in Hawaii. . .

It was a shock, a shock I tell you, to discover that Festivus, the holiday for the rest of us, was not the brainchild of Frank Costanza, George’s father on “Seinfeld.” Close enough, it was the creation of “Seinfeld” screenwriter, Daniel O’Keefe, whose family has celebrated Festivus on December 23rd for 45 years.

As such, the faux holiday pre-dated another phony festival, Kwanzaa. The chief difference between the two is that everyone watching “Seinfeld” knew Festivus was a joke. Kwanzaa is a joke as well but few people are aware it is also a racist-inspired, Marxist creation of an ex-con black revolutionary.

Maulana Ron Karenga, born Ronald McKinley Everett, invented Kwanzaa two years after being released from prison. Along with two others, the cult leader had been convicted of felonious assault and false imprisonment for kidnapping and torturing dissident cult members Deborah Jones and Gail Davis.

Ms. Jones testified he had ordered them to strip naked and beat them with an electric cord. Gun in hand, Everett/Karenga supervised as a hot soldering iron and detergent were forced into their mouths and a water hose was turned “full force on their faces.”

The inventor of Kwanzaa and co-founder of Organization Us, (United slaves), a black nationalist group implicated in the 1969 murders of two Black Panthers at UCLA, proudly admitted to being a white-hater influenced by the teachings of fellow ex-con and African-American revolutionary Malcolm X.

He went on to become a prolific author and Chairman of the Department of Africana Studies at the University of California, Long Beach.

Quite the résumé and quite the testimony to the greatness of a country in which a convicted, vicious torturer can rise from the ashes of a career in thuggery and anti-Americanism to the lofty heights of originator of a national holiday, of sorts, and to the prestigious position of departmental chairmanship at a noted university, albeit a California university.

Maulana Ron Karenga-Elliott is quite the man and Kwanzaa is quite a holiday.

Precisely what inspired Karenga-Elliott to institute the first black holiday in 1966 in a nation devoid of any “white holidays” is unclear. However, considering the inventor’s seamy background, Marxist philosophy, and the fact Kwanzaa was hatched at the height of the black power movement, it can reasonably be assumed the inspiration wasn’t love of Caucasians, love of country, or an insatiable desire for peaceful co-existence and integration.

Like Karenga-Elliott, Kwanzaa is a joke, a fake, and a fraud.

Good News from North Carolina, Alabama, and Ukraine

“Good news” is a very subjective term.

Some people regard the slight uptick in Barack Hussein Obama’s job approval ratings as a positive, others perceive it as ominous for the next election. Some consider unfortunate Tuesday’s Pentagon announcement that troops returning from Iraq won’t be honored with parades as per custom at the end of a war, others applaud the decision since they don’t like wars or soldiers.

What’s good and what’s bad often depends on one’s perspective.

However, though there are inevitably those who can find dark clouds on bright, sunny days and evil in virtue, various developments over recent weeks must be interpreted as positive–unless you’re a Muslim, a leftist, a misanthrope, or a sorry combination of all three.

For example, few Americans would see an American corporation standing up for American values as a negative. Even fewer would consider a decrease in a state’s unemployment numbers as anything but a sign of improving times. Virtually no one would deny saving children from an ugly fate is an act of true Christian charity.

Earlier this month, the Mooresville, North Carolina-headquartered home improvement chain Lowes home met with widespread criticism for yanking its advertising dollars from TLC’s “All-American Muslim,” apparently feeling the show was not representative of Muslims in America or of Islamic beliefs in Sharia law.

Muslims and leftist Democrat politicians ripped Lowes’ decision as a “shameful” reaction to intolerant “fringe” agitators and organized a boycott of the chain as punishment and to force Lowes to alter its policy.

In a letter to the company, signed by Muslim congressman Keith Ellison and others, the pols accused Lowes of forgetting “what it means to be an American.”

It seems the company knows full well what being an American means and “All-American Muslim” didn’t fill the bill.

Lowes stuck to its guns and was rewarded with a “BUYcott” by like-minded shoppers who flocked to its stores. At the same time, Lowes proved to be in the advertising vanguard: Fellow advertisers bailed in droves and ratings for TLC’s distorted view of the true nature and character of Muslims plummeted.

One small step for Lowes. One giant leap for America.

Much to the chagrin of the Obama administration, more good news emanated from the very red state of Alabama, employment news that can be credited to the Yellowhammer State and not to Washington.

Late last summer, Alabama began implementation of immigration reforms necessitated by Obamians’ refusal to enforce national immigration law and despite the administration’s efforts to discourage and interfere with Alabama doing the fed job.

Accused of violating everything from civil rights–of illegal aliens–to inflicting untold suffering–on illegal aliens–to ignoring economics in favor of politics, Alabama was following Arizona’s lead by audaciously insisting that applicants for jobs, etc. prove they are legal residents of the country and state.

In addition to the threatened, dire legal consequences of such audacity, progressive pundits and agitators predicted economic catastrophe for Alabamans. To their disappointment, the state has posted employment gains which far surpassed national averages since the new immigration law went into effect.

According to a November 18th report, unemployment rates fell at a record pace in the state, from September’s 9.8% to October’s 9.3%, from 9.9% to 9% in Etowah County, from 8.8% to 8.1% in Marshall county, and from 11.6% to 10.6% in DeKalb county.

The cause of all that good news? That same catastrophic immigration law which made jobs available to citizens and legal aliens who, we have been told by progressives for years, would absolutely never take those jobs.

The State of Alabama isn’t crowing much over outing the feds and the left as fools and liars and telling the president to stick those numbers in his hat, but it should.

Finally, from the usually sparse good news department comes this tidbit from ABCNews.com, a network which is usually engaged in presenting the opposite, and covering for Barack Obama. (Ever see any ABC reference Obama gaffes like “57 states,” “corpsemen,” or Hawaii’s location in Asia?)

Some positive stories cry out for exposure, even on ABC, and the Kecia and Kris Cox’s story is one of them.

2011 Hopes, 2012 Realities

I began writing an article entitled “A Christmas Retrospective” with, “The eventful year 2011 now drawing to a close may have been one filled with natural, political, and sociological disasters yet it produced unmistakable signs that all is not lost for America and the rest of humanity.”

I recounted the earthquakes, tsunamis, and tornados, the Arab Spring which portended an Arab Winter and worsening national and international tensions, the Occupy upheavals suggestive of revolution supported by Barack Hussein Obama 201 and yet I decided 2011 wasn’t as much a debacle as it was a year of hope springing eternal for our beknighted planet and nation.

Scratch any suggestions of 2012 being an improvement on 2011. On re-consideration of my Chistmas-inspired attack of optimism, 2012 promises to suck big time.

In part, events occurring over the past few days forced the revisionism.

The mayhem resulting from the sale of Air Jordans, a Santa in Grapevine Texas murdering 6 relatives, riots over rappers at the Mall of America, and Tim Tebow’s Denver Broncos losing all contributed to a change of perspective.

Iran taunting the U.S. Navy in the Strait of Hormuz and Obama’s public approval rating rising to 47.1 didn’t help, either.

Still, it was an article by Professor James Petras on GlobalResearch.ca that convinced me my rose-colored glasses had been clouded by my cataracts. Titled “Unrelenting Global Economic Crisis: A Doomsday View of 2012,” the article makes mincemeat of fools who detected substantial brightness in the world’s and America’s futures.

It should be noted that Petras, a retired professor of sociology, is an ardent socialist, self-described “revolutionary and anti-imperialist,” has been accused of anti-Semitism, and has taken distinctly anti-American positions. All that makes his views suspect but does not necessarily preclude the possibility he is wrong about the future.

Of course, too, one man’s opinion is just that, an opinion, but Petras’ gloomy forecast for the new year and beyond is both chilling and documented. When he writes, “The economic, political and social outlook for 2012 is profoundly negative. The almost universal consensus, even among mainstream orthodox economists is pessimistic regarding the world economy,” the professor doesn’t just predict, he substantiates his predictions.

Petras isn’t merely referring to economic chaos and crises as causes for concern. His prognosis for the world in general is ominously and universally dismal, which is typical for liberals.

Kim Jong-il, May He Not Rest in Hell

Normally, it’s proper to show respect for the dead. Kim Jong-il, the bloodthirsty Communist dictator of North Korea is dead and deserved no respect, proper or otherwise.

It’s time, though, to reflect on the passing of the man former Democrat president Jimmy Carter and the United Nations mourned and whose designated heir Carter wished great success.

Apparently born Yuri Irsenovich Kim apparently in Siberia, apparently somewhere Kim decided he wasn’t Siberian and became Kim Jong-il and ruled North Korea in high heels for some 17 years until his apparent death on December 17th or 19th.

Many things are only “apparent” regarding the late despot except his official DPRK titles among which were General Secretary of the Workers’ Party of Korea, Chairman of that country’s National Defense Commission and Supreme Commander of the Korean People’s Army–and unofficial titles of “Dear Leader,” “Generalissimo,” and “Great Father of People.”

My favorite Kim title is ”Biggest Fruitcake on the Asian Stage,” not including Hawaii which President Barack Hussein Obama said recently was in Asia.

Among Kim Jong-il’s accomplishments in the “hermit kingdom” were killing millions of his people, starving millions more, maintaining gulags tenanted by 200,000 political prisoners, and establishing North Korea as the most backward nation on the planet this side of Somalia.

As North Koreans were eating the bark off trees to ward off starvation, Kim found the funds to develop missile and nuclear capacities to threaten his neighbors, another feather in his cap not cited by either Mr. Carter or the U.N.

Granted, former President Jimmy Carter has been struggling with senility demons and a desperate search for a legacy following a failed presidency.

The latest talk in Washington mostly concerns sizes–the size of tax cuts and Michelle’s posterior even after the president’s bitter half made a startling admission to Barbara Walters on “20/20.”

The FLOTUS hasn’t publicly responded to Rep. Jim Sensenbrenner’s ungentlemanly observation that she is a hypocrite for preaching the evils of obesity while sporting significant rear baggage. Admitting her self-absorption is a bigger story, anyway.

In a “20-20″ interview, Barbara Walters suggested Michelle Obama’s statement that she is her own highest priority sounded just a tad selfish. Unfazed, Lady O denied the selfishness while conceding busy women tend to “slip pretty low on our own priority list because we’re so busy caring for everyone else.”

The FLOTUS just thinks it’s “practical” to place herself on top because, well, because, like Stuart Smalley, she thinks she deserves it.

Nothing selfish there. Mrs. Obama is currently busy on vacation in Hawaii working on her top priority.

On the other hand, her hubby has never lost sight of his number one priority: Barack Hussein Obama.

It’s a given that anyone who feels in his or her heart of hearts that he or she is qualified to be president of the United States, leader of the free world, and representative of the interests of the last superpower left on Earth must have an ego the size of Alaska.

Or, a priority list with him or her at the pinnacle.

It’s another given that anyone with little to no experience or credentials who presumes to seek the nomination of a major political party to the office of the American presidency must either be addled or egomaniacal beyond comprehensibility.

Since Barack Hussein Obama often appears to be exceptionally muddled and since he won the presidency principally due to his race and white guilt, he has to be judged the greatest deluded egomaniac ever to sit in the Oval Office. The greatest, overt egomaniac ever to hold the un-elected position as America’s First Lady resides upstairs–when she’s not vacationing on the taxpayers’ dimes.

President Obama has all-too-frequently demonstrated both ineptitude and delusionary perceptions of common realities by his inability to think and function absent scripted teleprompterings. Add to those serious flaws a transparent obliviousness to the ramifications of his domestic and international policies and it becomes obvious he needs a huge ego to counterbalance them.

And he has it.

Twice recently, Obama reinforced the view that he would have been better off continuing his career as a Chicago community organizer and America would be far better off not saddled with his misplaced egotism. . .

U.S. and U.N. Join War on Christmas and Christianity

It’s long been the feeling that opponents of Christmas festivities and observances were just anti-Christian, anti-traditionalists, anti-everythings, with a fringe that was just plain insane.

Now it seems the lunatics have seized total control in the annual War on Christmas and the inmates are calling the shots.

Things were bad enough when atheists throughout America staged mindless, envious, wars against community Nativity scenes, when naked homosexual Santas pranced through San Francisco, when North Korea threatened war with South Korea over Christmas trees, when the USPS ordered a Bellevue, Washington mailman to stop dressing as Santa Claus, and when Rhode Island Governor Chafee refused to call a Providence Christmas tree a Christmas tree.

Now, the anti-Christmasers have entered the realm of the truly bizarre.

And, no, I’m not referring to the Saugus, Massachusetts school system banning a half-century-old tradition of firefighters visiting elementary schools and distributing coloring books because school Superintendent Richard Langlois felt “there is a conflict between the church and the state in that regard.” Supt. Langlois must have gotten coal in his stocking as a kid or bats in his belfry as an adult.

Nor am I referring to the thousands of drunken Santas who overflowed Manhattan’s South Street Seaport area with beer and urine earlier this month during their annual Santacon pub crawl, a spectacle Santacon organizers promised to clean up next year, assuming the drunken Santas aren’t too inebriated.

And, I’m certainly not alluding to the certified fruitcake Venezuelan president Hugo Chavez who, to his temporal credit, did allow a Caracas Nativity display but to his eternal discredit had himself depicted standing next to it “hugging a child” along with scenes of his “flagship socialist projects."

Allowing for the sources, all those inanities are forgivable. Unforgivable are the actions of the government of the United States and the waste of space on the East River, the United Nations. Both our government and the U.N. are waging active campaigns against both Christmas and Christianity.

As HumanEvents.com reported, thanks to the Barack Hussein Obama administration, bibles are now prohibited at the Walter Reed National Military Center.

That prohibition follows an Air Force Academy apology for Operation Christmas Child, a “Christian-based charity and relief program designed to send holiday gifts to impoverished children around the world” and was preceded by pressures to remove a Camp Pendleton cross meant to honor fallen heroes and the cessation of the Air Force’s 20 year old religious curriculum on “just wars.”

When Obamians gets rolling on an anti-Christian tear, they leave no irreverent stone unturned. Of course, Islamic stones are sacrosanct.

When the last, best hope for mankind gets rolling on tradition revisionism, it leaves even Obamians in its dust.

“Teach your children well/ Their father’s hell/ Will slowly go by/ And feed them on your dreams”–of demonstrating, marching, and fighting?

Less than a year ago in the wake of the Tucson shootings by a left wing nutcase, President Barack Hussein Obama lectured Americans on the need for more civility in our society. He spoke of “more civility in our public discourse, . . . because only a more civil and honest public discourse can help us face up to our challenges as a nation.”

Obama soon forgot the import of his own lecture and, if his minions ever received the message, they buried it along with any remnants of civility they ever had.

His commentariat on MSNBC such as Ed Schultz, Chris Matthews, and Rachel Maddow never gave up being attack dogs, his congressional idolators like Maxine Waters and other members of the Black Caucus never let up with their vile vituperation. and leaders of his unionist armies like the Teamsters’ Jimmy Hoffa, Jr. spoke of going to war with the Tea Party.

In Obama’s presence on Labor Day, Hoffa pledged to his Beloved Leader, “President Obama, this is your army. We are ready to march. Let’s take these sons of bitches out.”

The president’s reaction? He grinned and glowed–with the utmost civility, of course–and is currently engaged in his markedly uncivil re-election strategy of pitting Americans against one another in class warfare.

Now, former candidate for the Democrat Party’s nomination for president and avid black activist, Jesse Jackson, has joined the uncivil fray by advising young African-Americans not to bother with trying to succeed and to fight, instead.

More precisely, the Reverend Jackson, who was famously caught on tape in July 2008 offering to neuter Obama, (“I wanna cut his nuts out,”) wants black fathers to teach their kids “how to fight.”

Aside from the fact Jackson often speaks very irreverently for a reverend and black fathers aren’t home long enough to teach much of anything, African-Americans already seem extremely adept at fighting.

During his fight speech, delivered at the London headquarters of “Operation Black Vote,” Jackson addressed a representatative of the “Black Fathers Support Group” and preached that education was secondary to demonstrating, marching, and fighting. . .

Break-ups and Splits, One Marital, One Philosophical

It is with a heavy heart that I report on a recent marital break-up amongst America’s celebrities and with an even heavier heart the dissolution of ties that once bound philosophical allies.

Actually, I’m not experiencing any compassion at all for either the celeb in question, L.A. Laker shooting guard Kobe Bean Bryant or for America’s president since both are getting their just desserts. Bryant’s dessert is especially sweet and Obama’s specially ironic.

Let’s start with the ironic rift which is pertinent to the upcoming election year and which must represent a crushing blow to President Barack Hussein Obama.

The bloom is off the Hugo-Barack rose.

As if he hadn’t noticed before, playing to America’s center-right electorate Obama dared criticize President Hugo Chavez’ dismal human rights record in Venezuela and the dictator’s chumminess with Cuba and Iran. An audacious attack made in a Caracas newspaper, his well-founded criticism proved incendiary and evoked a spirited rejoinder from the South American leader.

With both presidents up for re-election in 2012, Chavez shot back by characterizing his North American counterpart as a “clown,” admonishing his fellow socialist, “Now you want to win votes by attacking Venezuela. Don’t be irresponsible. You are a clown, a clown. Leave us in peace . . . Go after your votes by fulfilling that which you promised your people.”

As if that put-down were not harsh enough, Chavez added, “Focus on governing your country, which you’ve turned into a disaster.”

Of course, for those of us who have closely followed Obama’s meteoric, inexplicable rise to political stardom, the clown reference, the failed promises, and the national disaster comment aren’t revelations but, still, it’s awkward to witness birds of a feather getting so ruffled.

Chavez also threw in, “If I could be a candidate there in the United States, I’d sweep you away.”

How sharper than a serpent’s tooth it is to be trashed by one of your own kind!

The Coming War With China, Part Two

As antithetical as it is to the Christmas spirit of peace on Earth and good will toward all men, the unfortunate reality is that the grossly cynical view of peace as merely a temporary interruption of war is as true today as it ever was.

As Americans finish up their Christmas shopping and read encouraging, heart-warming stories of troops returning home following the “end” of the Iraqi War, more realistic observers are aware the conflict is far from over and that many of those same soldiers will soon be re-engaging in that and other wars.

Even more ominous in our unstable world are the activities of America’s primary trading partner, lender of hundreds of billions to our treasury, and our unacknowledged adversary, the Peoples Republic of China, the PRC.

Almost two years ago, I posted an opinion piece, “The Coming War With China,” which offered the unoriginal theory that the inscrutable Chinese were preparing for an inevitable clash with the only power that stands in the way of their world dominance, the United States.

Russia continues to make noises and threats asserting its pretensions but, despite Putin’s blustering and new missile development, the time of the Russian Bear passed with the passing of the U.S.S.R. and the best hope the new Russia now has is a military alliance with the PRC when the appropriate time comes for alliances.

And it will.

For years, most military analysts felt China did not pose a realistic threat to America and little chance to re-claim what it considers Chinese territory in Taiwan because of a weak, under-equipped navy, particularly a dearth of aircraft carriers.

That assessment has been changing as rapidly as China’s economic boom has boomed and was recently updated after a commercial American satellite–not the CIA–discovered a Chinese aircraft carrier under way in the Yellow Sea. Almost as secretive as its ally, North Korea, China originally contended the Varyag, purchased from Ukraine ten years ago, would be converted into a floating casino.

Something changed and now the PRC is saying the Varyag ”is intended for research and training, which has led to speculation that it plans to build future copies,” according to a Huffington Post report.

Attempting to save face in the wake of the private satellite photo, our Defense Department expressed no surprise amd suggested the carrier wouldn’t be fully operational for years.

A Cynic's Guide to Holiday Dinner Table Topics

Depending on who’s sitting around Americans’ holiday dinner tables, there’s sometimes a certain amount of host and guest indecision as to what topics are appropriate and what are not.

What follows is pure opinion and not predicated on any Emily Post recommendations but simply–some will say simple-minded–practical ideas on what should and should not be discussed while we partake of holiday fare.

Of course, depending on the nature of–and the alcohol content of–beverages served and consumed, oftentimes there are no conversational parameters but for those rare families who don’t know what to talk about, I hereby present a guide for Christmas/Hanukkha/Kwanzaa/Festivus chat.

. FOR THE TWISTED: Planned Parenthood of America offered a topic for the Thanksgiving table which is applicable to all family gatherings. Why not, suggested the busiest abortion-provider in the nation, discuss “reproductive health and justice”?

That’s always an attention-getter as we celebrate, no?

While downplaying the grotesque features of aborting human life, PPOA offers ideas on, among other things, how to “diffuse” debate on “the bigger picture” by avoiding slogans, framing that picture correctly, and offering proper refutations to those who believe abortions are murder.

Planned Parenthood doesn’t much like pictures which depict the truth and treats the subject with a degree of levity, concluding its cheery advice with, “Good luck, and remember, if things get really bad, you can always bring up something everyone can agree on, like how much we all love pumpkin pie.”

Transitioning family debate from abortion to dessert should be a piece of cake, at least in the twisted eyes of abortionists. Is it any wonder normal people want PPOA defunded?

. FOR OCCUPIERS: The Occupy Wall Street and Everything Else anarchists are a fun bunch to discuss over holiday ham or Christmas turkey, especially if a supporter or two is present at the festivities.

Out on the Left Coast in the City by Gomorrah Bay, thousands of Santa wannabes dressed up to do some occupying and marched through downtown San Francisco protesting everything from corporate excesses to bank greed to–this being San Francisco–genital mutilation resulting from male circumcision.

Many shed their costumes and protested in Santa hats and nothing else, reinforcing the opinion of rational adults that OWS, and San Franciscans, have been addled by pot, coke, and un-bridled political correctness.

Wouldn’t little Johnny and little Janey just love to hear the adults chatting about naked Santas as they scarfed down their dinners?

What’s wrong with American Muslims?

Nothing, according to Muslims and Democrat politicians who are incensed over Lowes pulling its ads from The Learning Channel’s new reality show, “All American Muslim.” Something, according to Lowes which makes money when people buy stuff at their home improvement stores but which felt advertising on”All American Muslim” was counterproductive to its interests.

There are also the questions as to what constitutes worthwhile “learning” and Muslim realities.

Lowes’ apt corporate motto is “Never Stop Improving” and this week it joined some 75 other advertisers in bailing on sponsoring the show. Some people, including those Democrat pols, attribute Lowes’ action to caving to prejudiced, conservative special interest groups, others including the travel website, Kayak.com, to the fact “the show sucked.”

In the interests of full disclosure, I’ve never seen an “All-American Muslim.” However, from what I’ve researched, it does suck and even more relevantly, the Muslims depicted are far from representative of American Muslims. TLC’s offering seems more an exercise in propagandistic political correctness than a serious effort at informational entertainment.

There’s a major difference between infotainment and infoganda.

Minnesota Democrat Rep. Keith Ellison, the first Muslim to serve in Congress who staged a 24 hour hunger strike in solidarity with the Occupy Wall Sreet anarchists, also protested against Lowes saying, “Corporate America needs to take a stand against these anti-Muslim fringe groups and stand up for what is right because this is what it means to be an American.”

Joining Ellison in his righteous indignation were Detroit-area Democrats, the first Bangladeshi-American congressman, Hansen Hashim Clarke, John Dingell, and Gary Peters who expressed dismay over the Florida Family Association’s dismay over ”All-American Muslim.”

The good congressmen dutifully dispatched a letter to Lowes defending Muslims and their contributions to the nation, without delineating those contributions. They concluded their missive by saying, ”We implore you to reconsider your decision and live up to your corporate ideals of diversity and inclusion and the values of tolerance and acceptance that create the foundation of our nation.”

Anymore than Ellison explained how an American corporation refusing to advertise on a television show it felt distorted reality related in any way to “what it means to be an American,” the other congressmen failed to clarify how supporting intolerance is a building block of America’s foundation.

That aside, Ellison’s comment regarding alleged “Muslim anti-fringe groups” and “what it means to be an American” bears more scrutiny.

The Florida Family Association which organized a wildly-successful petition against TLC’s ”All-American Muslim” is a quarter century old organization dedicated to the betterment of life in America. Its mission statement, to “Educate people on what they can do to defend, protect and promote traditional, biblical values,” is hardly a “fringe” sentiment.

Toward that end, the FFA has campaigned against what it deems offensive television shows advocating aberrant lifestyles, smutty fare for children, pornography–as well as Islamic propaganda. The FFA is urging Florida Gov. Rick Scott to order an investigation into whether a Muslim woman’s death was due to suicide or to an all-too-common Islamic “honor killing.” . . . Two Small Christmas Miracles

Every once in a great while, the public education community slips up and forgets its NEA-dictated politically correct liberalism.

It happened last year at a Long Island middle school awards ceremony when a soldier just back from Iraq was honored by allowing him to present a good citizenship citation to a student.

After being introduced and before he was able to make the presentation, the soldier was showered with appreciation by the 800-strong audience. They leapt to their collective feet to offer their own award for his service, a standing ovation that went on for minutes.

Teachers and school administrators in the district, which will not be identified to protect the innocent, were belatedly embarrassed into joining in.

Well, it happened again, this time at a concert–not a Christmas concert, of course, but rather a “winter concert”–at a high school in the same district where not only were America’s armed forces honored but Chistmas melodies, including religious-themed hymns, were performed and met with comparable approbation.

When the National Education Association gets wind of that combined patriotic/religious rebellion, heads will surely roll.

In the greater scheme of political correctness, neither the military tribute nor the celebration of Christmas were earth-shaking yet both represented a radical departure from the PC norm in the Long Island neck of the national woods. They furnished irrefutable proof that there is some hope for sanity in Democrat Lawn Guyland.

After the band director asked veterans and active duty members of the Navy, Army, Marines, and Air Force to stand at the appropriate moment, the Symphonic Band offered selections from the fight songs of all four branches of America’s military.

Unprompted, the audience enthusiastically applauded both the servicemen and women and “Anchors Aweigh,” “The Caisons Go Rolling Along,” “The Marines Hymn,” and “The U.S. Air Force.”

Pacifists in the audience must have been cringing.

The Festival Chorus then sang a rendition of Vince Guaraldi’s “Christmas Time Is Here,” a cheery song about sleigh bells and snow flakes which could pass muster even with atheistic grinches. The festival choristers went overboard when they followed that innocuous holiday ditty with the gospel song, “Every Time I Feel the Spirit.”

Whatever was the chorus director thinking when he allowed public school kids to sing, “Ev’ry time I feel the spirit moving in my heart, I will pray. . .

At the risk of taking issue with the Wall Street Journal’s Patton Dodd, I don’t think Denver Bronco’s Tim Tebow is “God’s Quarterback.” I don’t even know if God follows the NFL or if He cares much about football. I do know, however, that Tebow is a religious lightning rod and that much of the criticism surrounding him reflects more on his critics than on Tebow.

Dodd does provide a litany of the quarterback’s altruistic activities both at the University of Florida where he “re-shaped campus culture” and since he joined the Broncos as well as testimonials to his model behavior. Spending his summers working with the poor in the Phillipines and raising $340,000 for charity while a Gator were prefatory to establishing a charitable family foundation.

Dodd also notes a marked contrast between Tebow and the significant number of star athletes who have recently used their stardom, and wealth, to engage in criminal and anti-social–dare I say immoral?–conduct. Among others, he cites Tiger Woods, Plaxico Buress, and Michael Vick.

Neither his admirable qualities nor contrasts with less admirable athletes qualify Tebow qualify Tebow as a saint or God’s designated quarterback. Neither should they disqualify him from objective recognition of his accomplishments.

Tim Tebow is no Johnny Unitas, Joe Montana, or Peyton Manning–not yet, anyway–but he has caused an unprecedented uproar in the sports world that has surpassed few previous uproars, and little of it relates to his athletic abilities.

True, his wobbly passes and unconventional proclivity to run the ball have drawn valid criticism from NFL opponents and sports writers who ostensibly ridicule only his wobblies and unconventionality. However, it’s really the God thing, Tebow’s public affirmations of his relgiosity, that seems to bug many in the wide world of sports.

This Sunday’s game with Tom Brady’s New England Patriots is being characterized as Tebow’s biggest challenge to date, with both the Broncos and the Patriots desperate for a victory and Tebow, not desparate after leading the Broncos to seven wins in the eight games he’s started, but entitled.

Tim Tebow is entitled to some respect in addition to recognition.

Obamacare Rationing Has Arrived: Live, or Die, with It

It isn’t being called rationing since the president repeatedly pledged that would never happen under Obamacare but, pledge as they might, the Obamians are already busily engaged in restricting Americans’ access to medical testing and treatment, aka rationing.

And, don’t dare even whisper the term “death panels.” Sarah Palin and others were widely ridiculed by the administration for suggesting their existence since, we were promised, Obamacare would never incorporate such a ghastly feature. Instead, they’re called ”ethics panels.”

Years before the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act is fully implemented in 2014, measures are being taken nationwide to cut costs and limit access to medical procedures which for decades were considered prudent and necessary for diagnosis and treatment of potentially life-threatening illnesses and diseases.

It’s the old trick of boiling a frog adapted to medicine.

Those interested in boiling frogs know you should never throw the little amphibians into pots of boiling water since they tend to jump out and spoil the fun. Likewise, politicians know they can’t literally throw grannie under a bus, pull the plug on gramp’s respirator, or assign a cancer patient to a death panel since grannie, gramps, and the cancer patient are liable to kick them where it hurts.

You have to boil them gradually and use euphemisms as you do it.

Rationing began in earnest earlier this year when the FDA withdrew approval of Genentech’s highly-effective but expensive breast cancer drug Avastin on the basis that it had ”a marginal effect on tumor growth in breast cancer and in light of Avastin’s severe side effects, the risks outweigh the limited benefit.”

The FDA didn’t directly address that opinion to the thousands of women whose lives have been extended by that “limited benefit” and who scoff at the alleged side effects and risks.

Life, for frogs and human beings, supersedes both the pleasures of boiling water and side effects despite cost savings.

As for mammograms, women only think they should get them annually but that’s another misconception according to the U.S. Preventive Services Task Force, USPTF, which seems to have been assembled by the Department of Health and Human Services less for the purpose of preventing than for rationing.

The task force of 16 “independent experts” concluded in November, 2009 that it makes no sense for women to either perform breast self-exams or get routine mammograms before reaching the age of 50. Possibly saving your life is purposeless, and it costs money.

After the flak hit the fan and women adopted the frog approach to boiling water, HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebellius backtracked and insisted the “experts” were merely recommending, not establishing policy or determining coverage–and Republicans were absolute cads for suggesting otherwise.

Chalk one up for the women-folk.

Again only recommending, in October, 2011, the same task force reported that “Prostate-specific antigen–based screening results in small or no reduction in prostate cancer–specific mortality” despite findings by true independent studies showing such screenings reduce death rates by up to 90%.

Following that money-saving recommendation, the nation’s largest urology group jumped all over the USPTF . . .

If it hadn’t before, the Islamic Republic of Iran now completely understands what makes America’s drones tick, both the hapless drone sitting in the White House and our surveillance drone sitting somewhere in Iranian territory.

At this juncture, Iran probably understands President Barack Hussein Obama better than it understands our top secret spy plane although, given enough time, they, China, and other American enemies will learn plenty about the Lockheed RQ-170 Sentinel Stealth Drone.

On Tuesday, Democrat congressman Dennis Cardoza (CA) criticized the president as arrogant and alienating, as a man who would be better off teaching somewhere than serving as chief executive, a charge that is only partially true. He is, indeed, arrogant and alienating but only on the partisan, domestic front. Internationally, he functions much like the RQ-170 is functioning now.

As for Obama being better off doing something, anything else, that’s true. The country would also be better off.

A week ago, the Sentinel inexplicably went down somewhere in Iran while on a surveillance mission over Iran.

Chockful of stealth technology, capable of flying at 50,000 feet, and costing $6 million dollars each, the remotely-operated drone apparently malfunctioned and was not shot down by the Iranian airforce as Iran President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad alleges but at this point little of that matters.

Obama wants it returned. It’s not known whether he stamped his foot when he said so. Various options for recovering or destroying the aircraft were presented to him. He chose to grovel and beg, instead. . .

The Atheist War on Christmas and Christians Goes Asian

Just when it looked as if the annual War on Christmas was showing signs the good guys were winning, the other side pops up and does something stupidly outrageous to demonstrate how stupid and outrageous they are.

Admittedly, the positive signs that Christians were winning were minimal in the first place but when the head of the Catholic Defense League, Bill Donohue, sees room for optimism there has to be some hope. Then there’s the unfortunate reality that, hope or not, the War on Christmas is still raging across the land–and across the Pacific Ocean.

Invariably, the forces of darkness are led by nihilistic atheists, domestic and foreign, dedicated to little else but negativism.

Personally, I don’t care if someone is an atheist and worships old socks, pink gerbils, or the almighty dollar instead of the Almighty. However, in a nation in which 96% of the population celebrates Christmas, actively campaigning against December 25th as either a holiday or a holy day is an intolerable, un-American annoyance.

It’s also an infringement on the First Amendment’s guarantees of freedom of religion and free speech.

Out on the Left Coast, a 57 year old Christmas tradition is being attacked by the usual horde of atheists employing an unusually subtle yet still pernicious tactic, gobbling up most of alloted public spaces to celebrate the winter solstice instead of Christmas.

For those fifty seven years, a group of churches in Santa Monica has traditionally erected 14 life-size displays depicting a variety of Nativity. This year, they are reduced to two, the other spaces alloted to out of town atheists who have filled two “solstice greetings” spots ranting against religion while monopolizing a total of 18.

In government courts, that should be considered an illegal restraint of religion and of a national holiday.

Hunter Jameson, a spokesperson for the churches, contends what the atheists are doing smacks of collusion and “that these new applicants have been working together to displace and push out the Nativity scenes from the park, rather than erecting a full display of their own.” (http://tiny.cc/0s9uj)

There’s no smacking involved at all. It’s just another battle in the American atheist War on Christmas.

When Joe the Plumber asked Barack Obama, ”Your new tax plan is going to tax me more, isn’t it?” the candidate responded with an off-the-cuff answer that rivaled his most infamous gaffes before or since.

It’s not that his response was the equivalent of his “57 states” or his “corpseman” goofs. In fact, it couldn’t be classified as a stupid gaffe at all. It was more a slip of the lip, an unrehearsed confession of his extremist socioeconomic philosophy which would have buried most candidates.

“It’s not that I want to punish your success,” Obama answered and added, ”I just want to make sure that everybody who is behind you, that they’ve got a chance for success too. My attitude is that if the economy’s good for folks from the bottom up, it’s gonna be good for everybody . . . I think when you spread the wealth around, it’s good for everybody.”

Wealth re-distribution and class warfare in which the proletariat, the vast laboring majority, rebels against the bourgeosie, the small minority in control of the means of production, are central to Marxist theory. If that idea rings a bell, it’s because it is also central to the mini-revolution now plaguing the country, the Occupy Wall Street crowd and it’s not coincidental that the president fully supports OWS.

Of course, the claim by demonstrators that they represent the so-called 99% is simplistic since half of that number happen to be part owners of the means of America’s means of production by virtue of being investors in stocks, 401k and 403b plans, and other investment vehicles.

Logic is no more a feature of OWS than it is of Marxism today.

In The Roots of Obama’s Rage, Dinesh D’Souza dismisses the belief that Marxism-socialism is Obama’s principal inspiration and contends it is an anti-colonialist rage, a commitment to leveling the world’s playing field by ending America’s status of a superpower that motivates Obama.

D’Souza rightly feels that Obama inherited both his Marxism-socialism and anti-colonialism views from his father but there is little point in differentiating which is primary to the president’s thinking. Extended another four years, either is sufficient to ending the America as we know it today.

As of this writing, Reuters is reporting a tentative accord, not an amicable accord and still tentative, at the gathering of rich and poor nations at the U.N. climate conference in Durban, S.A.

In essence, the evil rich–including the United States and the emerging rich China and India– beat back the deserving poor–including 43 island nations, which have no reasonable excuse for existing as nations, and the rest of the envious planet. As usual with the United Nations, nothing was accomplished even after the Durban confab ran two days overtime as representatives from pretend nations like Comoros and Vanuatu sought to do anything to avoid returning to Comoros and Vanuatu.

The significance of Durban is not its failure but in the immediate and long-term climate and geopolitical goals of the United Nations, none of which favor the United States.

When it comes to the global warming/climate change charade, the United Nations has long abided by the tried and true axiom that nothing beats a good defense better than a good offense. If the U.N. excels at nothing else, and it doesn’t, it is superb at absorbing attacks and damaging truths by ignoring them as if they didn’t exist and braving on with even more outrageous scams.

In the wake of the second expose’ within two years that revealed the lies behind man-made global warming/climate change, instead of backtracking and conceding the facts, the U.N. went on the offensive by drafting a treaty at Durban to further milk the Western world by requiring us to compensate the rest of the planet for our rudeness toward “the rights of Mother Earth.”

Conferring at the U.N. climate summit, United Nations’ one-worlders conceived a new guilt trip, “climate debt,” designed to suck more money from the “have nations” to fill the pockets of “have-nots,” after being funneled through the rapacious maw of the monstrosity on the East River.

Just as the U.N. carried on after Climategate One in 2009 as if it had never happened, it was unfazed by Climategate Two.

As a refresher, in 2009, so-called scientists at the United Nations’ Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change-funded East Anglia University Climate Research Unit were caught with their warming pants down.

Pseudo-scientists of IPCC, the same group that shared the Nobel Peace Prize with Al Gore in 2007 for their efforts to terrify the world, were discovered not merely fudging climate data but lying and covering up findings which contradicted their pre-conceived, PC notions of anthropogenic causes of global warming.

Hackers broke into computers at the CRU and released 61 megabytes of 72 confidential documents and 1079 secret emails to the public, emails that irrefutably substantiated climatological fakery.

As the London Telegraph reported at the time, the purloined documents exposed “conspiracy, collusion in exaggerating warming data, possibly illegal destruction of embarrassing information, organised resistance to disclosure, manipulation of data, private admissions of flaws in their public claims and much more:” http://bit.ly/InbR7.

Thievery is reprehensible. Global fraud is far worse.

Undismayed by CRU Director Phil Jones’ admission that the data “appear to be genuine,” the following month the U.N. went ahead with its scheduled Copenhagen Climate Summit, which achieve nothing.

Truth will usually, eventually, out and last month U.N. perfidy was outed once again when 5000 new IPCC emails were hacked confirming what Climategate One had originally proven, that man-made global warming is the biggest fraud since Copernicus was shown to be wrong in the sixteenth century. . . It's a Wonderful Life, Despite Rich Cohen

It’s ”really the most terrifying Hollywood film ever made, a tale of hunger, greed and a troubled America.”

Only a misanthropic, jaded contributor to Salon.com, or to one of that website’s twisted sister sites, could interpret Frank Capra’s classic film “It’s a Wonderful Life” in such a fashion as columnist Rich Cohen does.

Sadly, some people get up every morning in America and spend a good part of their day, if not their entire day, not in giving thanks for having been born in and for having prospered in our great land but in thinking up ways to denigrate “their” country, to undermine its values and traditions, or to simply poke holes in good things.

While conferring needlessly gratuitous compliments upon the late renouned director Frank Capra as “an Italian immigrant who . . . lived through the Depression, then through the rise of terrible ideologies,” Cohen concludes that Capra ”knew how bad things could get. He knew, too, that the United States was not immune and this knowledge spiked his love with the worst kind of fear. The result was that special melancholy, blue shot through with black, that runs through his films, the best of which are parables that operate on various levels, some of which were probably unknown to Capra himself.”

The supremely arrogant Cohen knows what that ignorant Italian immigrant couldn’t possibly grasp: In Cohen’s warped view, Capra’s philosophy and films were attributable to the fact that he “loved America [but only] because America saved him.” Capra had no appreciation of his adopted country, no patriotism, no innate sense of rectitude and morality, just a debt of gratitude to America.

To Cohen, the protagonist of “IAWL”, George Bailey, isn’t really saved at all. As Cohen writes at the end of his trash piece, Bailey was living in tawdry Pottersville all along and never did live in wholesome Bedford Falls and Cohen admits he relates to the Pottersville tawdriness.

That’s why, to the omniscient Cohen, in the last scene, “George looks at his friends with terror. He’s happy to be alive, but he’s disillusioned, wised up in just the worst way. He finally knows the world as it really is, what his friends are capable of, the dark potential coiled in each of them . . . It’s the sort of vision that makes a person go insane. . . "

As outlined in “It’s Gingrich Time!” (http://www.genelalor.com/blog1/?p=9629), the Obamian attack machine, led in Congress by its High Priestess of Vacuity and Obama idolatress, Rep. Nancy Pelosi, has begun to mobilize against Newton Leroy Gingrich.

The carefully-designed Democrat deconstruction of the latest front-runner in the Republican sweepstakes for the nomination had Pelosi hinting at a ton of allegedly unethical dirt she was prepared to dump on Gingrich, a threatened dumping that made no mention of her own alleged ethical breaches nor of the slew of Obama administration unethical and questionably legal machinations.

Rep. Pelosi withdrew the threat the same day she made it.

As I concluded in “It’s Gringich Time!” “The worst is yet to come in the Destroy Gingrich Campaign.” This will be a long and dirty political year and one of the most reprehensible Dem tactics is already becoming apparent: Tar Newt as a religious hypocrite, a newly-baptized papist fanatic, or both.

The ploy’s success is totally dependent on how well Democrats can get away with smearing Gingrich without smearing his new religion and his new wife lest they be seen as trampling on the First Amendment and the feminine gender. They usually have to be sly about it as in the case of the NewYork Times shortly after his 2009 conversion to Catholicism.

In “Gingrich Gets (a New) Religion,” the Times commented, “But even before his conversion, Mr. Gingrich was branded a hypocrite in the blogosphere after he wrote in a recent Twitter post that President Obama had ‘anti-Catholic values’ ” after he criticized the invitation to President Obama to speak at Notre Dame.

Do note: The blogosphere, not the Times, called Gingrich a hypocrite. Still, the lambasting had begun and mostly relates to his marriages.

In “Newt Gingrich’s Religion,” Salon.com is less subtle, delineating the differences between the religion Newt had left and the one he had adopted, pointing out the basic tenets of the Baptist faith and that, ”With Gingrich’s conversion to Catholicism, he has, in effect, publicly renounced them.”

Salon not only snidely attacks Gingrich but takes digs at his wife, citing why Newt converted and casting aspersions on Callista Bisek with snide references to her immorality: “The first reason he mentions is the fact that his current wife, Callista, is a devout Catholic.”

Then Salon goes for the real dirt: ”Not so devout, however, that she minded carrying on an affair with the married Speaker of the House. The affair lasted for at least five years while Gingrich was married to his second wife.”

As we all know, ultra-moral liberals take great umbrage at such things, especially when liberals are not involved.

Sounding more envious than chagrined, Salon also threw in another shocker: “Not that it really matters, but Gingrich is 23 years older than Callista. When their affair began, she was in her late 20’s, Gingrich in his 50’s.”

If it didn’t matter, why mention it–other than to paint Mrs. Gingrich as a bimbo and her husband as an aging, hypocritical roue’?

Bill Clinton married once, Ronald Reagan twice, Newt Gingrich thrice.

By all indications, Clinton’s marriage has been something other than one made in heaven, Reagan’s first marriage to Jane Wyman ended amicably and his second to Nancy Davis was the stuff of marital legend. Gingrich’s first two weddings have been mischaracterized by the media as something akin to marriages by Jack the Ripper to his victims.

Newt’s third marriage, which has lasted eleven years, is the one that most sticks in the MSM craw.

Gingrich lately seems more than a bit happy, content, and at peace with himself and his philosophy, none of which sits well with the mainstreamers who distrust him because his father was career military and because they’re still peeved over 1994.

The stickiest issue is that Ms. Bisek is a Roman Catholic and now so is Newt and we all know how sinister those Catholics are, right? . . .

Mumia Abu-Jamal Beats the Racist System

The wheels of justice just fell off–again.

In a tribute to the farce that is America’s justice system, former Black Panther Black Panther Mumia Abu-Jamal has been awarded a reprieve and won’t be executed for murdering Philadelphia Police Officer Daniel Faulkner on December 9th, 1981.

Life has been good to Abu-Jamal, not so good for his victim and his family.

It’s not as if there weren’t any eyewitnesses to Abu-Jamal shooting Faulkner point blank in the face. Two testified he confessed in the hospital by saying, “I shot the motherfucker, and I hope the motherfucker dies.”

It’s not as if there was no forensic evidence. His .38 caliber revolver and five shell casings consistent with bullets removed from the police officer’s body was found next to Abu-Jamal at the scene of the crime.

It’s not as if Abu-Jamal wasn’t found guilty and sentenced or that he didn’t exhaust the appeals process. His state and federal appeals failed to overturn the verdict.

It’s not as if he didn’t receive a fair trial. He and his brother refused to testify but the evidence was so clear-cut that the jury needed only three hours to reach a unanimous guilty verdict.

It’s not as if the current Philly District Attorney now believes he could be innocent. Seth Williams, the city’s first black DA, said, “There’s never been any doubt in my mind that Mumia Abu-Jamal shot and killed Officer Faulkner. I believe that the appropriate sentence was handed down by a jury of his peers in 1982.”

The fifty-eight year old Abu-Jamal, born Wesley Cook before his conversion to the Black Panthers, will live out his remaining years in prison because he beat the system.

DA Williams is giving up attempting to have him executed as decreed by a number of courts and judges because Abu-Jamal has gained so much notoriety and garnered so many influential supporters that Williams believes “Another penalty proceeding would open the case to the repetition of the state appeals process and an unknowable number of years of federal review again, even if we were successful. . ."

Soldiers, from Battlefields, to Landfills, to Non-entities

The term “soldiers” once technically only applied to men serving in an army, a definition expanded in modern times to include both men and women and which loosely describes anyone serving in the military, although Marines, Navy personnel, airmen and Coastguardsmen might take umbrage with being called soldiers.

Whatever the interpretation of “soldiers,” generic or otherwise, they are the people who make possible our freedom to dispute nomenclature and they protect our country. As trite as it sounds today, they are the people who enable us to be free.

Yet, many of those same people have been treated like medical waste and the deaths of others have been trivialized.

Seventy years ago, soldiers were idealized and idolized as brave patriots defending their country. Forty years ago at the height of the Viet Nam war, being a soldier meant risking life and limb fighting for their country then came home and were spat on by protestors claiming they were baby killers. Thirty years ago, America elected a commander in chief who once admitted to loathing the military.

Today, we are witnessing the culmination of that spitting and loathing: The ashes of the remains of courageous men and women who died in battle have been dumped in a landfill and the deadliest attack on a U.S. military base in history is being dismissed as “workplace violence.”

The Air Force was faced with a dilemma starting as early as 1996: What to do with the bodies of dead soldiers returned to Dover Air Base, remains which they had been authorized to dispose of in an appropriately dignified, respectful manner. Their version of dignified and respectful involved secret cremation and dumping in landfills.

The practice, abandoned in 2008, was hidden from the Pentagon but not before the ashes and body fragments of as many as 2,036 dead soldiers were dumped, 274 of which the Air Force forgot about until pushed to do an accounting.

However, the Air Force and Pentagon had an excuse for not knowing precisely how many remains were dumped.

According to the Washington Post, that determination “would require searching through the records of more than 6,300 troops whose remains have passed through the [Dover AFB] mortuary since 2001.”

We certainly can’t expect the Pentagon and Air Force to expend all that time, effort, and money simply to provide a bare modicum of dignified respect for our fallen soldiers, now can we?

"A Date Which Will Live in Infamy"

Exactly seventy years ago, on the morning of December 7th, 1941, the Imperial Japanese Navy launched the most devastating attack ever witnessed on American soil.

Deploying some 353 fighters, bombers, and torpedo planes launched from 6 aircraft carriers offshore Pearl Harbor, the sneak attack claimed the lives of 2,402 civilians and military personnel, wounded 1,282, sank or damaged 16 American warships, destroyed 188 U.S. aircraft and marked the beginning of our involvement in World War Two.

The “infamy” to which President Franklin Delano Roosevelt referred the next day during his address to a joint session of Congress is generally interpreted to have meant the attack itself and it was beyond infamous. However, as we learned much later, a lack of preparedness, horrendous mistakes, and possible duplicity on FDR’s part were also contributory factors in America’s losses.

Similar factors played a role sixty years later when Islamic maniacs crashed planes into the World Trade Center, the Pentagon, and a vacant field in rural Pennsylvania.

If America had learned anything from the 1941 attack, we had forgotten what we learned by September 11th, 2001. If we learned anything from 2001, we have forgotten that as well. Despite security pretenses, the United States is as vulnerable to Muslim fanatics in 2011 as we were ten years ago.

We can play self-satisfying security games and wring our hands all we want, we can strip-search old ladies at airports, and we can fight wars with no strategy for winning but there is only one certain route to defeating an enemy, implementing a resolve for total victory, a resolve we sorely lack.

As a result, America will surely sustain other December 7ths, other September 11ths, perhaps more deadly than those attacks.

Let us remember Pearl Harbor Day and may God grant us the wisdom to avoid its repetition.

Two momentous, and salacious, cases in recent memory which the mainstreamers attempted desperately to conceal, one of which almost brought down a Democrat presidency, another which exposed a Dem darling as a lying adulterer, proved to be major embarrassments to the MSM not because of their smarminess but because they knew about them and failed to report them.

It took the upstart, Matt Drudge, to out the Bill Clinton-Monica Lewinsky outrages and the tabloid rag, the National Enquirer, to reveal the John Edwards-Rielle Hunter affair.

Of course, as always and with a little help from their political friends, the MSM recovered from its abdication of journalistic integrity.

A distinctly unfriendly website, unfriendly to the Left, IOwntheWorld.com, regularly publishes stories and items of interest that even Drudge.com avoids, reports in the news which the MSM wouldn’t touch with a ten-foot keyboard.

Before the collapse of the Roman Republic, politicians were no less devious than contemporary pols.

One way or another, they tried to buy plebeian votes, to ply the rabble with goodies in hopes of winning their approval come election time. The tactic came to be known as providing panem et circenses or bread and circuses. Our politicians call it food stamps.

There is no doubt many Americans are hurting in President Barack Hussein Obama’s dismal economy with a continuing high rate of unemployment unrelieved by multi-billion dollar federal stimulations and a climbing poverty rate. Reflecting that failure, the Census Bureau reported in September that the number of people in the United States living below the official poverty line rose in 2010 by 2.6 million bringing the grand total of America’s poor to 46.2 million, the highest number in 52 years.

Way to go, Barack!

There is also no doubt that most of those poor would be considered rich by half the world and that some Americans take advantage of the system. Anyone standing in line to buy staples at the local A&P behind someone purchasing lobsters with a food stamp card can attest to that abuse.

Haphazardly throwing more and more money at a problem has never changed anything but the Obamians have no clue what else to do. They could just get out of the way of the chained giant that is the American capitalistic industrial base, lift restrictions and regulations and let it roar but that option is a non-starter with socialists.

However, there are those pesky things called elections so how do they make the discontented more content?

It's Gingrich Time!

All things come to those who wait and now it’s Gingrich’s turn. With the race for the Republican nomination for president seemingly narrowed to a pack of two, Mitt Romney and Newt Gingrich, it was time for the Obama attack team to zero in on Newt since he has been waxing of late and Mitt has been stagnating.

Adhering to the military strategy of focusing on offing the leader, the Obamians have been dismantling the front runner until he is beaten to a pulp then deal with the remnants of the field. It worked with Bachmann, Perry, and Cain so why not go with whatever works?

Of course, even when he was bringing up the rear, Gingrich received his allotted share of undercutting but it’s a whole new ballgame now that he’s in the lead. The Big Guns are being trotted out to reduce him to size, if not to a quivering shadow of his former self.

However, with all his faults and baggage, Newt represents a lot of candidate to cut down and he’s not known to quiver much.

And, to utilize a tempting pun, his quiver is chock-full of arrows with which to bring down Obama, chiefly his knowledge, experience, intelligence, and debating expertise, all of which constitute fearsome forces to reckon with and the re-elect Obama team has evidently been doing a great deal of reckoning.

The latest Democrat stalwart to join the Democrat attack machine isn’t known for her intelligence or expertise in anything other than winning her own re-election in a super-safe congressional district and just launched her initial salvo of innuendo intended to inflict damage on her former House colleague.

House Minority Leader Rep. Nancy Pelosi didn’t really say anything of substance to Talking Points Memo but rather, in her sly fashion, tried to smear and intimidate Gingrich with a threat.

As she inelegantly put it without elaboration, “When the time is right. . . I know a lot about him. I served on the investigative committee that investigated him, four of us locked in a room in an undisclosed location for a year. A thousand pages of his stuff.”

Just think about it. An investigative committee of four so far un-identified individuals investigating an arch political enemy for twelve months behind non-transparent doors and compiling “a thousand pages of his stuff.” It’s a wonder they didn’t find Newt guilty of pulling grandma’s plug and tossing babies into wood chippers!

Imagine any committee secretly investigating Barack Hussein Obama for a year! They could determine he was born in Nairobi, his father was a confirmed Marxist drunk, and his mother had this peculiar thing for Muslim men. . .

Confusions

As I approach the status of a septuagenarian, an age which in earlier times would have been indicative of doddering or dead, I must admit to, not being doddered and definitely not dead, but to confusion.

Impudent younguns would attribute that confusion to almost seventy years on God’s green Earth. I think it’s caused by human nature more than by any other single factor, human inclinations for betterment at all costs, for power, for greed, for laziness.

I’m confused mostly why America elected an incompetent ideologue to lead us during the most dangerous times the country has faced since World War Two. That grave mistake can be rectified next year but it will take years to overcome the social, military, and international ramifications President Barack Hussein Obama visited on us.

Chalk one up for change for the sake of change.

The most serious error any nation can collectively make is what stockbrokers are mandated to caution, that prior performance is not necessarily indicative of future results, believing the past will surely be replicated in the future.

America’s long-term prior performance has been outstanding, an unprecedented prosperity, an unrivaled freedom, a history of fighting for and winning the rights of the oppressed at home and abroad, and unparalled opportunities for personal advancement which still exist though they are dwindling day by day.

The United States of America is by all measures an empire, economically, militarily, and in international influence and power an empire. What we forget at our peril is that empires have historically lasted an average of two centuries.

We are currently well into our third century, though quibblers may argue the USA wasn’t a great power until the 1900′s, which brings me back to my confusions.

After my bewilderment over electing a community organizer as president, my next confusion relates to those quibblers. Does a relative versus a supreme empire really matter? China’s Han Dynasty, the Mongols, the British Empire were extremely powerful both before and after they dominated their spheres of influence.

More troubling and confusing than such quibblers are Americans and pseudo-Americans who exemplify the worst elements of human nature.

Those who take to the streets like Bolsheviks to effect change instead of to ballot boxes demonstrate a gross lack of understanding and appreciation of the benefits this country offers them to, among other things, take to the streets like Bolsheviks without being shot. I don’t know or care who Jerry Sandusky’s lawyers are but they should either dump him as a client or he should ask them what he should be saying to the press, if anything.

From the point of view of a non-attorney, I would be aghast at a client accused of serial homosexual child-molestation over decades giving interviews to the media. Granted, the interviewers didn’t dare suggest Sandusky was a homosexual pedophile but, still, allowing him to admit to “liking” young children was tantamount to permitting him to concede he was a Michael Jacksonite with similar preferences.

As with Michael Jackson, Jerry Sandusky liked young boys, although the MSM played down that predilection in both instances, preferring in Jackson’s case to present him as a lover of everyone, in Sandusky’s case as paternally affectionate toward boys and girls. Despite Jackson’s universal love and Sandusky’s fatherliness, neither was ever accused of paying inappropriate attention to females.

In both instances, the mainstreamers were engaged in a cover-up of the truth, that the King of Pop and the PSU assistant coach were gay pedophiles. The chief differences between the two seems to be that Jackson was never indicted and had smarter lawyers–but dumb doctors.

The main similarities are that both were delusional.

To the end, Michael Jackson maintained his innocence of molesting young boys while admitting he slept with them and, in at least one instance, made one young boy rich by paying for his silence.

Even after his arrest on 40 counts of sexual abuse of 8 children over 15 years, Jerry Sandusky insisted his bizarre behavior was totally innocent and that his work on their behalf with his Second Mile Foundation was not grooming them as victims but benefitting them.

There are a number of remarkable parallels between Jackson’s and Sandusky’s delusions.

In Martin Bashir’s disturbing 2003 documentary, “Living With Michael Jackson,” the pop star proudly admitted to activities at his 3000 acre Neverland ranch that would shame normal people. “It’s what the whole world should do,” he told Bashir, among other things.

Jackson also said, ”I tuck them in and put a little like, er, music on and when it’s story time I read a book and we go to sleep with the fireplace on. I give them hot milk, you know. We have cookies. It’s very charming. It’s very sweet.” He asked Bashir, “Why can’t you share your bed? The most loving thing to do is to share your bed with someone.”

Sweet, if you’re the child’s parent. Loving, if the bed-sharer is a consenting adult.

One 12 year old boy said he asked Jackson if he could stay in his bedroom and Jackson replied, “Look, if you love me you’ll sleep in the bed.” Jackson believed children like to be touched and he would kill himself if he could not be close to young boys: “If there were no children on this earth, if someone announced all kids were dead, I would jump off the balcony immediately.”

In his defense, Jacksonphiles always bought into Michael’s persona as a man-child who saw nothing but innocence in his personal idiosyncrasies, a view that would absolve many pedophiles of any guilt whatsoever, even Jerry Sandusky. . .

The Various Cases Against Eric Holder

The website for the Office of the Attorney General of the United States summarizes the purpose and function of the AG: He “represents the United States in legal matters generally and gives advice and opinions to the President and to the heads of the executive departments of the Government when so requested.”

Eric Himpton Holder, Jr., America’s 82nd attorney general, has failed to fulfill either the spirit or the letter of his office and both his actions and inactions have brought shame and disrepute to the Department of Justice.

He must resign or be impeached.

The AG’s duty of furnishing “advice and opinions” implicitly carries with it the understanding that that advice and those opinions are reasonable and lawful and that he conducts himself, his office, and his department in a manner reflecting respect for his duties which Mr. Holder has repeatedly failed to do.

The latest offense committed by this attorney general is simply one of many in a long string of offenses, any one of which provides sufficient grounds for his removal. Combined, they raise the questions of why he was chosen for office in the first place and why he was not removed sooner.

Pending the results of an ongoing congressional investigation, Rep. Darrell Issa (R-CA) has called on President Obama to dump his appointee because of Holder’s failure to remedy the ATF’s incompetent handling of its Fast and Furious Mexican gun-running debacle.

Notably, Issa also pointed out that the problems aren’t confined to Fast and Furious but rather are “about a failure that seems to be pervasive within Justice that investigations play fast and loose with the expectations of what is right or wrong.”

Translated, although the congressman is not yet alleging the attorney general ordered Fast and Furious, the “dumb program” which resulted in some 1400 weapons being given to Mexican drug lords and used to commit mayhem and murder in Mexico and along our border, Issa suggested Holder covered up the botching. Rep. Issa is being kind and should have elaborated on the ”pervasive” inability of Eric Holder’s Justice Department’s to distinguish between right and wrong. That inability pre-dates Holder’s confirmation as attorney general and has been the hallmark of the DoJ ever since Holder assumed his position.

If the cover-up of Fast and Furious isn’t sufficient to impeach Eric Holder, his record of racist statements and racist policies surely is.

Holder tipped his racist hand even before he was confirmed as the nation’s first African-American attorney general.

One such story demanded more verification than usual since it involved an allegation that was so far beyond the pale of belief it bordered on the absurdly incomprehensible. As it turns out, very regrettably, the report is no longer an allegation but fact: The United States Senate has voted to approve the practice of bestiality in the military.

That is not a misprint.

Should the House of Representatives concur with the Senate and President Barack Hussein Obama sign the bill, men and women in Amrica’s armed forces will be free to engage in sexual relations with dogs, cats, chickens, horses, or with any other animal without fear of retribution under the Uniform Code of Military Justice.

At the risk of wishful thinking and of putting the kibosh on the wish by articulating it, signs are everywhere that President Barack Hussein Obama is on the way out.

Putting aside the facts that an obscure two-year United States senator whose administrative experience was nil, whose chief claim to fame was serving as a political hack organizing communities in Chicago, whose past was filled with unsavory associations, and no reasonable person considered him qualified to hold the most powerful position on the planet in the first place, the handwriting has been all over the White House walls indicating that come January, 2013 Obama will be viewing those walls from the outside.

In anticipation of his departure and to save face, the president expressed his feelings on joining the unemployment rolls he has done nothing to reduce and which his policies have virtually chiseled in stone, Obama has said he may very well be a one-termer.

From his mouth to God’s and Allah’s ears.

In view of Obama’s actions and inactions from the beginning of his presidency and most recently, all signs point to both his realization he had no rational expectation to have won the office in 2008 and that, since he did win, he and his family would milk it for all it was worth and that he would try to inflict as much of his leftist-socialist ideology on the nation in four years as he possibly could.

In the true beginning there was the Word. In Obama’s beginning, there was subterfuge and the only transparency has been an obvious inclination to drain every last ounce of advantage, every extravagant vacation, every party and golf outing, every campaign tour he could at taxpayer expense.

He preached transparency, and there was none. He promised to be different and he was diiferent but worse. He committed to change, and the changes he has accomplished are changes only the most devout leftists believe have been beneficial.

Obama and his Democrat Congress foisted on the American people the most unpopular health legislation in history, Obamacare, passed with no regard for the consequences to the well-being of the vast majority, as if those consequences didn’t matter, and they didn’t.

IOwntheWorld.com listed many of the ugly truths about this president that didn’t seem to matter to his worshipful mainstream media, truths and revelations which would have ended most candidates’ presumptions to lead the Free World.

Some would have ruled him out to govern Uzbekistan based on his bizarre appointments of tax cheats, left wing extremists, avowed Marxists, homosexual activists, and inept former convicts, based on his foreign policies that embittered allies, based on domestic policies that included failure to defend our borders, based on a background more suitable for a committed subversive than for a president.

Still, what this president and his administration have done lately even more strongly reinforce the view that Obama is resigned to surrendering not only the perks of his office but his ability to utilize that office to satisfy his handlers’ demands for change they believe in and desperately crave. Another Holocaust, a Worse Holocaust

I recently watched, for the second time, Steven Spielberg’s “Schindler’s List,” the movie Jerry Seinfeld largely missed because he was, umm, busy with his date in the balcony, at least on his television show.

Though not a Jew like Seinfeld, I was moved again by the unspeakable horrors depicted in “Schindler,” merciless murders by the Nazis of innocent people whose only crime was being Jewish, genocidal acts which were dwarfed by Mao Ze-Dong and Jozef Stalin but which were no less horrible.

The slaughter of six million Jews by Hitler, Himmler, and their accomplices should never be forgotten by anyone, no matter their religion. It was a crime committed not only against Jews but against humanity and all humanity was diminished by both its commission and the refusal of civilized nations to acknowledge it until it was too late.

However, despite the enormity of the Jewish Holocaust, it was far from the worst example of genocide. With over 50,000,000 victims to date and counting, abortion has to be considered the worst, even if it is now legal and socially acceptable.

Pro-life activist and founder of Operation Rescue, Randall Terry, has pointed out distinctions between Hitler’s victims and victims of abortion. A Democrat Party candidate for president in 2012, Terry rightly perceives anti-Semitism as a plague on the Earth and outlined the differences between the Jewish Holocaust and the abortion holocaust.

Citing ”the chasm of disparity between the motivation to hate any people group vs. the deliberate murder of our own flesh and blood,” Terry concludes ”that these two holocausts are not only different, but that the slaughter of unborn babies is a far worse crime against God and man.”

Unlike what is happening to millions of innocents today, Randall argues that the people Hitler slaughtered in his maniacal quest for racial purification had some defenses, however limited they were. . .

Future Christmas revisionism: “It’s Beginning to Look Like the Holidays.” “Have Yourself a Merry Little Holiday.” “All I Want for the Holidays Is My Two Front Teeth.” “Holidays in Killarney.”

The annual war on Christmas has resumed and a major battle is currently being fought in The Ocean State of Rhode Island.

Perhaps what’s most remarkable about the anti-Christmas forces–and they are formidable forces– is that, despite overwhelming national sentiment in favor of saying and celebrating “Christmas” instead of the generic “holiday,” liberal politicians and their cohorts in the media and among certain segments of the general populace never let up in trying to secularize this time of year.

What’s their problem?

On the one hand, the whole controversy which has been raging for years over a word is silly.

Does it really matter if a tree in the town square is called a holiday tree instead of a Christmas tree? Does it matter if Macy’s conducts holiday sales in lieu of Christmas sales? Does it matter if we wish one another, “Happy Holiday!” and not “Merry Christmas?”

On the other hand, if it didn’t matter, why do some people persist in trying to change a long-standing, popular tradition?

A recent Rasmussen Reports survey confirms what the majority of Americans already knew. By a whopping 70%, most of us prefer to celebrate Christmas rather than meaningless holidays. More specifically, seven out of ten opt for store signs wishing shoppers a Merry Christmas and not Happy Holidays.

It shouldn’t be such a big deal, but it is, moreso for the grinches than for the traditionalists. The grinch contingent seems obsessed with the need to unnecessarily change what doesn’t need changing.

One rhetorical question is, why? Another is, why are virtually all the grinches liberals? The answers are simple: Liberals despise tradition, especially any tradition that smacks of Christianity, and they are grinchy because their philosophy is inherently devious and intolerant.

Case in point: The Associated Press is reporting that Rhode Island’s liberal governor, Lincoln D. Chafee, in defiance of a symbolic resolution passed by his state’s House of Representatives, is insisting the statehouse 17′ blue spruce scheduled to be lit on December 6th be called a holiday, not a Christmas tree . . .

No, Barney Frank isn’t dead. He isn’t among the deceased but he is being virtually canonized by Long Island’s resident nitwit congressman Steve Israel as “a champion of American families.”

Rep. Israel has one peculiar concept of “family.”

Called “the most powerful homosexual in Congress,” Barney is merely retiring so he can rest up in peace, away from the slings and arrows of political infighting, his scandal-plagued career, and those meanie Republicans who keep dredging up his complicity in the 2008 banking debacle that led to Obama’s continuing Great Recession.

Barney is surrendering his position as ranking member of the House Financial Services Committee, the same committee he headed during the banking meltdown when he and then-Senator Chris Dodd forced financial institutions and their buddies at Frannie Mae and Freddie Mac to loan vast sums of money to people who barely had a pot to pee in.

However, Frank and Dodd felt they should have a shot at the American Dream, and then vote for Frank and Dodd.

Barney’s dream and one of America’s nightmares will be over next year since he has unexpectedly announced he won’t run for re-election after 32 years representing the good, people of the most liberal state in the union, Massachusetts. Democrats will probably turn over his committee job to another class act, Rep. Maxine Waters.

Barney’s reasons for packing it in, so to speak, are debatable.

Although his advancing years and the re-districting of his ultra-safe 4th c.d., home to the leftist bastions of Dartmouth and Wellesley, may have played a part, Barney was somewhat vague in his announcement saying only that he didn’t want to introduce himself to new voters and that he had “other things I’d like to do.”

Good thinking, Barn!

Convincing a whole new electorate that he is still “the liberal lion of the House” and thereby worthy of their vote would be challenging enough for 71 year old Barney. Persuading them that a former owner of a homosexual bordello should represent them could pose an even greater obstacle, even in Massachusetts. . .

The other day, Rush Limbaugh warned whomever eventually wins the Republican nomination for the presidency to be prepared for an avalanche of vicious assaults from the re-elect Obama billion dollar attack machine.

Limbaugh was wrong in one respect: That onslaught began months ago with the only distinction being that the viciousness is mostly emanating from Obama acolytes in his mainstream media rather than directly from the White House.

All this year, we have witnessed every Republican hopeful mercilessly pilloried as soon as he or she gains any traction in the GOP sweepstakes. Pawlenty, Trump, Christie, Bachmann, Gingrich, Cain have each had their turn being attacked. If a day goes by without some leftist guttersnipe taking unsubstantiated pot shots at a candidate, Leno and Letterman are ready to ridicule them at night with nasty derision–all in good fun, of course.

The only Republican to escape leftist castigation, relatively, has been Mitt Romney, leading to conjecture that the left wants him to win the nomination because they expect to whup him, just as Carterites were eager to get at Ronald Reagan.

What was it Obama said about the need for more civility? Evidently, the mainstreamers never got that memo.

One of the leaders of the MSM attack pack, the Washington Post, was apparently running out of ammunition with which to abuse the latest target, Newt Gingrich, so WaPo’s Aaron Blake resorted to the internet to gather more dirt. Blake tweeted for his fellow Twitter tweeps to send him all “outlandish/incorrect predictions and quotes” by or about Gingrich that they could dig up or make up.

NYT Outs Obama's Class-Race Warfare

Sometimes the mainstream media merely substantiate common knowledge and sometimes the New York Times demonstrates a degree of journalistic ethics by publishing that common knowledge instead of always slanting the truth.

Such is the case with Thomas B. Edsall’s piece, “The Future of the Obama Coalition” which appeared in the Times‘ Sunday “Opinion Pages.”

Summarized, that future involves Obama abandoning hopes of again winning anything approaching the 43% of all white votes he won in 2008 “in favor of cementing a center-left coalition.”

According to Edsall, that coalition consists of people generally considered professionals, including everyone from professors to teachers to therapists plus “a substantial constituency of lower-income voters who are disproportionately African-American and Hispanic,” in other words, a coalition composed of two very disparate groups, the highly-educated and the largely uneducated poor.

What Edsall does not incorporate in his article is a recognition that all but Obama’s MSM idolators and those they influenced to vote for him were aware long before the last general election that Barack Hussein Obama was a radical, socialist racist for whom divisiveness and class warfare were tactics he and the Democrat Party would employ when the 2008 coalitions disintegrated.

Oddly, or not so oddly considering Edsall was writing for the Times, he omits any reference to the president’s support for the latest exemplars of socialistic class warmongers, the Occupy Wall Street nutzos.

Three years ago, candidate Obama succeeded in cashing in on white guilt, the oft-denied sentiment which motivated millions of white voters to cast their ballots for him as a form of reparations paid to African-Americans, to demonstrate they were not bigots, to show they were sorry for the national sin of slavery even though none of them had ever owned a slave.

By virtue of that sentiment, the half-black Obama managed to gain 2% more of the white electorate than did John Kerry in 2004. Those voters have witnessed Obama in action for three years now and the president’s handlers realize many of them, hopefully millions of them, refuse to fall for Obama’s charade again.

They have seen his incompetence, his lack of leadership, his rigid, leftist ideology but most of all they have seen through his pretenses of creating a new era of racial harmony. Beneath Obama’s mellifluous, telepromptered words, they have finally seen the black racism that both he and his wife proudly admitted years ago.

Former Republican Speaker of the House Newton Leroy Gingrich lugs around almost as much baggage as a former candidate for the presidency lugged around before he won that office in 1992.

The chief difference between Gingrich and William Jefferson Blythe Clinton is that the former’s dirty linens will probably deny him the Republican nomination in 2012 and the latter’s less-fastidious Democrats elected him twice.

Both developments are damned shames.

Despite Democrat claims to be the Party of the People, which may have been true when they were led by FDR and the people were desperate and later involved in a war FDR manipulated, since at least 1964 the GOP has better reflected the dominant sentiment of Americans in all matters save failed social experiments.

Over the years, muddled-thinking wags have suggested that the best of all political worlds would see a Democrat in charge of domestic policy and a Republican conducting foreign affairs. Aside from the unconstitutionality of such a scenario, the country would be bankrupted by Democrats and so destitute we would be unable to function beyond our borders.

However, none of that speculation is relevant to a Newt Gingrich presidency since Republicans are more inclined to lose than to hold their noses and vote for a guy who isn’t perfect.

Newt is anything but perfect from a conservative point of view or from any other point of view, although he is nowhere near the insensitive ogre, the grinch the mainstream media has painted him . . .
