The New York Times, Sows' Ears, and Silk Purses

The New York Times, Sows' Ears, and Silk Purses

No matter what they say, I don’t think it’s possible to make a silk purse out of a sow’s ear. The New York Times does, though.

The former “paper of record,” “the Old Gray Lady,” currently on life support with a DNR notice above its sick bed, does not literally believe in the possibility of the conversion of a dirty pig’s ear into a pricey handbag but it does seem to think it can convert Sen. Harry Reid into a winner.

The Times made a final desperate shot last Friday toward that end in its front page article, “In Nevada, It’s Hold Nose and Cast Vote,” the chief premise of which is that both Reid and his Republican conservative opponent, Sharron Angle, stink, at least in the noses of most Nevadans and possibly in the opinion of the article writers, Dan Barry and Michael Cooper.

The underlying message in the piece is that, since both Reid and Angle are rotten candidates, why not go with the most powerful one?

The Times reporters interviewed a number of Democrats and Republicans for “In Nevada, It’s Hold Nose and Cast Vote,” which would seem to suggest equitable reporting. However, as CNSNews.com points out, without quoting a single Republican who fears the thought of Harry losing, the Times article went on to say that, “Some Republicans fear losing such a powerful ally [that would be Harry] in Washington.” . . .

ROCPAC, Election Day, and Obamacare

ROCPAC, Election Day, and Obamacare

Rick Crawford, Steven Palazzo, Steve Pearce, Tim Scott, Robin Smith, Tim Casey, Sharron Angle, Marco Rubio, John Raese. What do all those folks have in common?

Well for one thing, they’re all conservative Republican candidates who will be on ballots on November 2nd for either the U.S. House of Representatives or for the United States Senate. For another, they’re among those who have committed themselves to fight for repeal or radical change of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act of 2010, (PPACA), less than affectionately known as Obamacare, after they’re elected.

They’re also some of the people endorsed by RepealObamacarePac.com, ROCPAC, a federally registered PAC founded in March 2010 shortly after the narrow passage of PPACA on March 23, 2010: http://tiny.cc/o1ltk

ROCPAC supports candidates who pledge to use their vote in Congress to repeal the monstrosity of federally run healthcare in America and the many destructive aspects of the alleged healthcare reform. . . (Read more at http://www.genelalor.com/blog1/?p=1903)

Pushy, Pushy, Pushy! Give Gays an Inch and They Push for a Mile!

Pushy, Pushy, Pushy! Give Gays an Inch and They Take a Mile!

Barack Hussein Obama is by far the most gay-friendly president in America’s history.

PoliticsDaily.com, a liberal website, reports that,”President Barack Obama has already named more gay men and lesbians to administration positions than any White House. . . Obama has appointed 150 gays to high-level slots at agencies, commissions, and White House staff positions compared to 140 named by President Clinton during the entire eight years of his presidency:” http://tiny.cc/9vwsg

That’s a prodigious number considering that Obama has only been in office for 21 months and considering that homosexuals comprise a mere 2% of America’s population.

It would seem that America’s gays have gotten more than a very equitable shake from this president, including having gays such as Kevin Jennings, Assistant Deputy Secretary for Safe and Drug-Free Schools, in very high positions. The Jennings’ appointment was tantamount to naming John Gotti as Chief Investigator of the Mafia.

Nevertheless, gays,an Obama prime constituency, third in the faithful line after African-Americans and union members, aren’t as pleased with him as one might suppose.

He captured their vote in 2008 based on his pledges to do their bidding on issues such as repealing the military’s “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell,” (DADT), policy, a policy dating back to Bill Clinton’s first year as president, and promising to get rid of that dastardly Defense of Marriage Act, (DOMA), another Clinton law which basically gave a federal imprimatur to the all but universal understanding that marriage is a sacred compact between one man and one woman.

The gay lobby viewed both DADT and DOMA as discriminatory even as most of America viewed them as very reasonable and very proper.

Despite bending over backwards to satisfy his many gay friends–and that’s not a reference to any gay sex maneuvers!–Obama hasn’t as yet gotten his rubber-stamp congress to repeal DADT or DOMA.

In the collective and impatient homosexual mind, therefore, he hasn’t done nearly enough for them. And they’re letting him know about their thinking . . .

America's New Immigrants

America's New Immigrants

. . . We hold out a candle of true hope and change for foreigners to come to our still but barely shining city upon a hill, a beacon to the desparate, and to the comfortable, of the world who flock here lately not for the unlimited, boundless opportunities America offers but rather for how we can be milked, changed, and distorted to fit their twisted views of government.

It’s an incredibly sorry state of affairs made much sorrier by a national administration which welcomes dissidents and anarchists and oddballs, all in the name of a divisive policy of diversity. . .

WOW! for NOW!

WOW! for NOW!

. . . So, does the National Organization for Liberal, Leftist, Lesbian Women consider “whore” and “bitch” acceptable and apt descriptions of women who dare to enter the public square? Apparently, yup.

But does NOLLLW condone slanderous and sleazy tactics of phony sexual escapades directed at a female candidate? Apparently, nope, at least based on its very surprising defense of the baby-faced but tough Republican nominee for the U.S. Senate, Delaware’s own Christine O’Donnell.

O’Donnell, a Christian, arch-conservative, patriotic, anti-abortion, anti-illegal immigration, anti-embryonic cell research, Constitutionalist–positions and beliefs all contrary to NOW’s positions and beliefs–is running against arch-liberal Democrat Chris Coons, who was an avowed Marxist in college. That fact might be unfair to mention unless one considers that O’Donnell has been ripped and ridiculed for being a wiccan–when she was a high school kid.

But, back to the slander.

The gossip website Gawker.com smeared O’Donnell by posting “an anonymous account of a man who said he had had a one-night stand with O’Donnell three years ago [coincidentally] on Halloween” and paid the guy at least a thousand bucks for his tale and pictures of O’Donnell “dressed as a ladybug.”

I can see a witch or a chronic masturbator, but a ladybug?

Would Gawker pay me a grand for my anonymous story of my stolen weekend with Hillary Clinton . . .

Who or What Is Barney Frank?

Who or What Is Barney Frank?

Democrat Congressman Barney Frank’s website gives this quickie introduction: “Barney Frank has been in Congress since 1981. He is the Chairman of the Financial Services Committee. Previously he was a Massachusetts State Representative and an assistant to the Mayor of Boston. He has also taught at several Boston area universities.”

Would that that were all that could be said about the representative of Massachusetts’ 4th c.d.

The second member of the United States House of Representatives to openly declare his homosexuality, in 1987, according to Wikipedia, Barney shares his Newton, MA. duplex with his current “partner,” Jim Ready of Maine when both are in town. Sister to Democrat Ann Lewis, DNC operative and advisor to Hillary Clinton in 2008, Barney’s net worth as of that year was claimed to be $972,150.

Not bad at all for a nice, Jewish boy from Bayonne whose father managed a truck stop and served a year in the clinker.

Wikipedia provides precious little other information about Barney’s “personal life” but does say, correctly, that, “He is considered to be one of the most powerful members of Congress, which also makes him the most powerful homosexual in Congress and he’s never been reticent to exercise that power with gay legislation and causes.

What Wikipedia notably omits are references to the scandals of Rep. Barney Frank, principally consorting with a male prostitute, Steven Gobie, whom he later hired as a “personal assistant” and who used Barney’s Washington basement as a homosexual brothel. Barney’s fellow Dems didn’t see any of that as worthy of expulsion or even of censure.

It must be nice to work with good, Democrat buddies. . .

The Fine Art of Political Flip-Flopping "by Kate Evans"

The Fine Art of Political Flip-Flopping "by Kate Evans"

Easily the most renouned political flipflopper in the last few decades was the Democrat nominee for president in 2004, Senator John Kerry, who will go down in history as the man who wanted it both ways on the Iraq War and ended up losing that election in part because he tried to flimflam the electorate.

His classic line is usually quoted as, “I voted for the war before I voted against it” but his flip-flopping went far beyond that equivocation.

He voted to authorize the use of force in Iraq in October, 2002, supported President G.W. Bush in May, 2003 and later that year contended he merely voted to “threaten” Saddam Hussein, then, 5 months after that declared to Chris Matthews that he was anti-war, saying emphatically that “I don’t believe the president took us to war as he should have, yes, absolutely.”

As he should have?

It’s not nice to try to fool Mother Nature and even less nice to try to fool the American people.

There’s a whole lot of fooling, flim-famming, flip-flopping in progress during the current election cycle chiefly on the part of Democrat candidates on the November ballot and mainly involving Obamacare.

Those Democrats who voted for the misleadingly-titled Patient Protection and Affordable Health Care Act of 2009. PPAHCA aka Obamacare, heve been scurrying about seeking cover and have been downplaying, i.e., attempting to hide that vote. Those few Dems who voted against the measure are proudly touting their opposition as if it were a badge of honor. Those, like West Virginia Governor Joe Manchin who weren’t in Congress to vote yea or nay, are busily engaged in Kerry-esque flip-flopping. . .

Angle's Angle vs. Reid's Reactionism "by Kate Evans"

Angle's Angle vs. Reid's Reactionism "by Kate Evans"

If nothing else, Democrats are consistent.

Their consisistency in this case can be traced back at least to 1964. Prior to that, Dwight Eisenhower was treated somewhat benignly and was merely called a dolt. By ’64, Democrats had moved on to their current demonization tactic and Barry Goldwater was labeled an extremist who planned to blow up the planet. Ditto with Ronald Reagan. With slight variations, ditto Sarah Palin, ditto Christine O’Donnell and ditto Sharon Elaine Angle.

Now, in the stretch drive to November 2nd and with Angle running at 50% to Harry Reid’s 46% according to the latest Rasmussen poll, Reid’s storm troopers are bound to intensify radical, extremist charges against the Republican candidate who can in large part credit ROCPAC, a nascent Political Action Committee, for winning that nomination last June against Sue Lowden.

Today, thanks to her stance as a leading opponent of Obamacare, Angle may almost be considered the poster child for the GOP surge in popularity over recent months at the same time public opposition has grown immeasurably.

How best could Reid and his Democrats do battle against Angle? Why, by calling her an extremist, of course.

But, who is really the radical, who the extremist? . . .

Signs of Islamic Times

Signs of Islamic Times

It should be no secret, except perhaps in Europe, that the worldwide Islamic movement currently in progress isn’t a one-trick pony.

That is, Muslims didn’t start this global fire, this global war that’s been going on for decades on a lark, a whim and that they will inevitably go back to being good, little Muslims, tending their camels, pumping their oil, etc.

These people are serious, deadly serious, and the recent terror alerts in Europe and travel alerts concerning travel to that continent were real and substantive.

They are as real and substantive as the plot and arrest this week of naturalized Pakistani-American citizen, Farooque Ahmed, on charges that he plotted with what he believed to be al-qaeda operatives to simultaneously bomb various Washington, D.C. Metro stations. Those Islamic operatives proved to be FBI operatives instead. Ahmed now faces up to 50 years in a federal prison which should instead be a death sentence, but that’s just a personal opinion.

It’s not an opinion but fact that by hook, crook, suicide bomb, nuclear bomb, or combination thereof, radical Muslims are dedicated to beating the West, winning this war, and establishing a worldwide Koranic caliphate and Sharia law throughout its conquered territories. This “religion of peace” plans to accomplish that goal in the same way their Prophet Mahammed accomplished it, through jihad, a religious duty of Muslims to struggle (wage war) against the infidels (any non-Muslim).

There was a long-forgotten time when Islam dominated much of the planet and many Muslims are eager to replicate that dominance. We forget that time at our peril. . .

Homosexualizing Sesame Street

Homosexualizing Sesame Street

The puppet and Muppet worlds are all atwitter over the latest “evidence” that Bert, one-half of the inseparable Bert and Ernie duo on “Sesame Street,” had finally found his way out of the closet.

Suspicions and rumors have circulated for years that Bert is, let’s just say a little light in the loafers, as in gay, and some Muppet-watchers were quick to pounce on a single word, actually a word contraction tweeted by Bert on Twitter as proof.

Way back on June 11, 2010, ”the famous puppet tweeted about the recent ‘A-Team’ remake by comparing himself to A-Team star Mr-T, saying, ‘Ever notice how similar my hair is to Mr. T’s? The only difference is mine is a little more “mo,” a little less “hawk.” ‘

Say what?

Now, most adult watchers of “Sesame Street”–let’s not get into why adults would be watching the show or why Ernie is usually not rumored to be gay–would assume Bert was referring to “mo” as in Mr.-T’s “mohawk” in describing his hairstyle but apparently, to those in the “mo” know, “mo” is an abbreviation for homo and Bert was actually outing himself on Twitter.

At least that’s what Ed Kennedy says on a gay, pop culture website, calling the use of “mo,” ”a nice little ‘in joke’ for the gays, and nobody else the wiser about those two adult Muppets who have shared a bedroom for 30+ years.”

Of course, that’s true of Bert and Ernie and their living arrangements. Another observer has noted that, “Bert and Ernie conduct themselves in the same loving, discreet way that millions of gay men, women and hand puppets do. . .

Political Shenanigans and Political Simpletons

Political Shenanigans and Political Simpletons

It had to be expected.

With all the vitriol erupting out of both political parties, with the Democrat president skimming the bottom of the approval barrel at 37% and VP Joe Biden calling the imminent midterm election “more important” than 2008, with all the Dem guns–big guns and little guns–out on the hustings trying to salvage what’s salvageable next Tuesday, with a prominent Rhode Island Democrat telling Obama to “shove it,” things were bound to get dirty.

Dirtier, I should say. And they have gotten dirtier, in fact, ugly.

Thus, in Chicago, where strange things seem to happen around election time, and at other times, a few hundred thousand potential mail-in voters may be SOL when it comes to having their choices count because a “glitch” happened. Aside from the absurdity of voting by mail there was another absurdity: their ballots were misdirected to the IDCC, the Illinois Democratic Coordinated Council, and they may not get postmarked by the deadline.

Thus, in Kentucky during the Rand Paul-Jack Conway final debate to make Kentucky voters aware of where their candidates stand, a MoveOn.org operative fell while attempting to disrupt the debate, had her blonde wig ripped off, and then, adding injury to insult, claimed she was stepped on by a Rand supporter.

Thus, at the same debate, a Rand Paul supporter, a woman who recently had had foot surgery and was wearing a surgical boot, had that foot stomped on by a Conway guy. She had her incision torn open but both she and the other stompee refused medical treatment although both filed assault charges.

Thus, in Vegas and in New Bern, N.C., . . .

A Jew Defends Christianity

A Jew Defends Christianity

Since many Christians don’t seem to have the gumption or wherewithal to do it, it’s refreshing to see anyone defending Christianity. When the defender happens to be a jew, it approaches breathtaking.

Emeritus professor of political science and former head of the Intelligence Studies Section of the International Studies Association, Abraham H. Miller does just that in “Christianity: First Line of Defense for the West?” Published on PajamasMedia.com, the article posits a rarely-seen truth, that ”The one solid, inescapable organizing principle that stands as the bulwark against radical Islam is Christianity.”

Miller defends Christianity and Christians, real Christians, that is, people who “who get up every morning and genuinely reflect on how they could become better people by becoming more like Jesus,” on many bases. Those bases include exposing the hypocrisy and intolerance which allows pseudo-sophisticates like late night comics and even his fellow jews to preach tolerance for Muslims at the same time they ridicule the “moral clarity” and “moral precision” of Christianity on such matters as abortion and racial discrimination.

As Miller writes, ”I have never seen a Christian blow himself up on a bus full of innocent people, declare holy war on the unbeliever, or stone a congregant for adultery.” Nor has he seen “Jesus followers that crashed airplanes into the World Trade Center . . . [nor] Jesus followers who attack Jews on the streets of Paris so frequently and violently.”

Yet, Christians and never Muslims are pilloried and mocked regularly by America’s and Europe’s pseudo-sophisticates.

Miller points the finger of hypocrisy at members of his own faith . . .

Shockers!

Shockers!

Shock–and awe–are relative terms. Some people can be shocked if they witness a purse-snatching, others won’t be even mildly shocked by a gruesome mass murder. The following have been shockers to at least some individuals:

Abortion Video–Missy Reilly Smith has had two abortions and, like Norma McCorvey, the “Jane Roe” of Roe v. Wade, is now a dedicated pro-lifer. She is also a candidate for the position of D.C. delegate to the House of Representatives, a post long-held in a lockhold by Elizabeth Holmes Norton.

Smith figured that since she had been there and done that that she was well-qualified to acquaint women, teens, and others with something most people either don’t know or don’t want to know, namely what really happens to pre-born babies when an abortion is committed.

Accordingly, as part of her campaign, Smith ran 30 second spots on local television stations in the Washington area which graphically demonstrated the so-called “products of abortion,” an act she rightly terms “murder.” The spots are so graphic that the stations, legally required by federal law to air, felt compelled to introduce with a 15 second disclaimer. YouTube banned them as “shocking and disgusting.”

Smith’s ads come with her impassioned voice over speaking on behalf of both women and babies: “I was told it’s not a baby. They lied to me. They exploited me, she swears. “Then I learned the truth and I’ve suffered for years. And believe me I am angry. My heart has been ripped out. Obama, Pelosi, Reid, Norton–they all support the murder of babies and the abuse of women by abortion. It’s time to make child killing illegal again.”

The spots can be viewed on Smith’s website . . .

Van Jones and the Tea Party

Van Jones and the Tea Party

Obama’s nominee for the position of Special Advisor for Green Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation, Anthony K. Jones, withdrew his name from consideration last year after calling Republicans “a**holes” in a speech at Berkeley and then having his racist, radical past outed.

However, as vermin tend to do, he has again crawled out from under the woodwork. A walking, talking testimonial to the patent absurdity and overtly racist policy of affirmative action, the black “green czar” wannabe is in the news again.

This time around he denounced the Tea Party and its threat to all things Obamian with his characteristic lies and distortions. ”If you think things are bad now,” he bellowed, ”what will happen when the people who are screaming and yelling at these Tea Party events are actually in charge of your government, and in charge of your life, and in charge of your kids’ future? . . . I don’t think you want the Tea Party running your community, running your family, running your government. . .

In Defense of Tony Danza

In Defense of Tony Danza

Apparently, teacher Danza had a number of problems over the course of his year in the educational trenches. He cried a lot, he sweat a lot, and he had disciplinary issues. All of those, except for the crying and the sweating, would be fairly typical for a first year teacher, especially in an inner city school, a euphemism for a school in an urban slum which usually generally poses far more challenges than does a suburban setting.

Crying, sweating, and disciplining weren’t Danza’s most serious problems in the classroom, however. That problem arose from his confrontation with the prevailing educational system, with entrenched NEA thought and dictates, and with the government.

Danza refused to allow three “learning disabled” (LD) students to repair to their “resource room” because he felt they were lazy slackers. Informed by the LD teacher that they were in fact not lazy but learning disabled, he was then hauled onto Northeast Principal Linda Carrol’s carpet and castigated for his job performance and advised he was breaking the law.

Federal and state laws prohibit discrimination against LD kids and refusing to allow them, or even discouraging them from going to their special room for assistance in their school work, constituted a violation of those laws. (http://tiny.cc/ltlnn) It’s doubtful that Danza faces prosecution or other retribution for his actions but, in his defense, he was probably acting ethically if not legally.

I never met the Danza Three and can’t say if they were indeed slackers but I’d probably be in his corner and support his decision. Having been there, done that, having taught, (coincidentally, sophomore English), for some 26 years and having seen resource rooms, LD teachers, principals, and parents in action, I can attest to the fact some kids can be lazy and the entire LD system of resource rooms, etc. is in serious need of revamping. . .

Reality Check on the Left Coast

Reality Check on the Left Coast

The inability to distinguish reality from fantasy is usually harmless–in a three or four year old.

For the rest of us, that failure can be a sign of a serious mental disorder or just a refusal to accept what exists, or it could simply involve believing what you want to be true when the alternative is just too unpleasant to contemplate.

Our president was giving a pep talk to some supporters out on the left coast on Thursday in his continuing quest to preserve Democrat majorities in the House and Senate. It was a small group gathered at the University of Washington’s Husky Stadium, the overflow from the main event in UW’s basketball arena which was a sign of Obama’s times. Two years ago he would have filled the stadium, not just an arena.

His address was interrupted by an Obama enthusiast which led to the president giving an impromptu evaluation of the first two years of his presidency.

Obama was saying, “And for all the problems we’re going through right now, we still have the best workers on Earth, we’ve got the finest universities on Earth, we’ve got the best entrepreneurs on Earth. We’ve got the freest, most vibrant economy on Earth . . . “ It was at that point that one of his fans shouted out, “Best president on Earth!”

Now, admittedly, Obama was in an awkward spot there–and without his best buddy, his trusty teleprompter. . .

Tough on You, Juan Williams!

Tough on You, Juan Williams!

Boo hoo, Juan Williams! So, you finally came face to face with reality, with a truth that every conservative in America has known for decades, that the ultimately politically correct National Public Radio, NPR, is not much better than Air America, that it is an ideologically-biased not simply slanted to the left but unabashedly, if unadmittedly, leftist in its programming and editorial policies.

Poor Juan must not have received the National Public Radio memo that Muslims and Islam must not in any way be criticized, disparaged, or even feared by its employees either on NPR or while off the clock. That freedom of speech thing doesn’t apply there, even if NPR is heavily subsidized by the American taxpayer.

Williams’ failure to get that memo got him fired, canned, discharged by NPR.

Hollywood and the always irreverent “South Park” have gotten the message that Muslims and Islam are off limits. Why hadn’t Mr. Williams?

Maybe in his appearance on Bill O’Reilly’s “The O’Reilly Factor” (Fox News Channel, 8-9 p.m EDT) on Monday, Williams felt he wasn’t dissing Muslims. The closest he came was agreeing with O’Reilly that “jihad, aided and abetted by some Muslim nations, is the biggest threat on the planet,” a threat recognized by most rational people on that planet.

That reference to a threat led directly to his defensive statement that, “Look, Bill, I’m not a bigot. You know the kind of books I’ve written about the civil rights movement in this country.” Had he stopped there, Williams might still be drawing an NPR check, but he didn’t.

“But when I get on the plane,” he continued, “I got to tell you, if I see people who are in Muslim garb and I think, you know, they are identifying themselves first and foremost as Muslims, I get worried. I get nervous.”

Uh, oh, Juan, that must have done it. . .

A Nation Defined and Defiled

A Nation Defined and Defiled

. . . Lady Liberty’s inscription in part reads,”Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free.” It makes no reference nor does it imply that illegal aliens, often reprobate aliens, are invited to join us in the ongoing, 221 year old experiment in liberty that is America.

Nevertheless, that invitation has been extended to virtually everyone on Planet Earth, including those misanthropic earthlings whose primary purpose in life is to destroy us. All we used to ask is that immigrants enter the country legally and abide by our laws. It was assumed they would learn our language and willingly assimilate into our culture.

Most people would call that immigration policy suicidal, especially when many sneak in, violate our laws, and reject our language and culture. The United States calls it multiculturalism, inclusion, anything other than an asinine, national suicide policy.

This week the laughable Department of Homeland Security’s U.S. Customs and Border Protection division, CBP, issued its annual report which included an admission that it has established “effective control” of only 873 miles of our 1,954 mile border with Mexico–and that’s an “improvement” over 2009! . . .

Spreading Your Wealth

Spreading Your Wealth

Remember when a campaigning Obama seemed to slip when he said to Joe the Plumber, ”I think when you spread the wealth around, it’s good for everybody”? That candid remark wasn’t far removed from Karl Marx’ redistribution of wealth slogan, “From each according to his ability, to each according to his needs.”

Obama is now ready to go after the wealth of Americans, from each according to his ability, (how much money hard working Americans have), to each according to his needs, (how much money non-working people need.)

This time around he and his faithful Dems are not going after wealthy Americans since there’s a limit on how much he can milk from them before they set up legal residences in the Caymans or Macau and flip Obama and his Dems the bird.

And it’s not really “wealth” he plans to confiscate since the objects of his planned acquisitions are not the hoards millionaires have stashed under their beds but rather the modest savings that millions of average Americans have squirreled away for decades in their 401(k)’s.

Multiply the average amount in Americans’ 401(k)’s ($66,900) by the millions of Americans who own them and you’re talking real money, BIG money that Uncle Barack has designs on and his designs have no relation to anyone’s individual retirement comfort.

Truly wealthy people such as Barack Obama and the 237 millionaires in Congress have little use for tax-deferred savings which are the savings’ domain of people with moderate and even lower incomes, monies they are doing without during their working lives so that they can have more decent retired lives.

To those thrifty souls our president is now effectively saying, “Tough nookies! We’re gonna share your ‘wealth.’ . . .

Good Old Aunt Zeituni, the Classic Leech, Speaks!

Good Old Aunt Zeituni, the Classic Leech, Speaks!

Regular readers may recall Barack Obama’s Kenyan Aunt Zeituni, an illegal immigrant who has been on the public dole in Boston since she first graced our shores in 2000.

She thinks that’s just fine and perfectly equitable because America has a duty to take care of everyone who manages to sneak into our country or who arrives on a temporary visa and overstays that visa, indefinitely in her case. The 9/11 terrorist Muhammad Atta did the same thing.

She also believes it’s eminently fair that she was permitted to”cut the line,” to jump to the head of a public housing queue because, well because she happens to be Zeituni Onyango, Obama’s “dear Aunt Zeituni,” as he describes her in his memoir, Dreams from My Father.

Only Barack Obama, and his father and other family members, could consider Onyango in any way part of any dream. Most Americans would regard her and her obnoxious sense of entitlement–as an illegal alien, yet!–as our worst nightmare.

The same judge who twice rejected her request (demand?) for asylum and who twice ordered her out of the country and back to Kenya, orders she ignored, ultimately granted that asylum on the peculiar basis that her life and well- being would be jeopardized in her own land because she was aunt to an American president.

Immigration Judge Leonard Shapiro had rejected that contention but somehow came around to Onyango’s point of view. . .

2 Books, 2 Obamas, Same Rage

2 Books, 2 Obamas, Same Rage

Two books about two different Barack Obamas are hot off the press and, based on reviews, promise to be fascinating reading even if the media have afforded them scant attention. One would not please the president, he may be ambivalent about the other.

The first book, The Roots of Obama’s Rage written by Dinesh D’Souza, who is clearly not a member of the president’s fan club, describes Obama as “a much stranger, more determined, and exponentially more dangerous man than you’d ever imagined.”

According to one book review, in D’Souza’s view, Obama doesn’t give much of a hoot about past civil rights struggles, which would seriously disappoint many of his supporters. On the other hand, those critics who believe he is motivated by Marxism-socialism, as his father, Barack Obama Sr. was, will also be disappointed since the author contends that those “isms” are not his inspiration.

His true inspiration, his motivation, the driving force behind Barack Hussein Obama, is much scarier than any Marxist-socialist philosophies.

That review continues, “What really motivates Barack Obama is an inherited rage—an often masked, but profound rage that comes from his African father; an anticolonialist rage against Western dominance, and most especially against the wealth and power of the very nation Barack Obama now leads. It is this rage that explains the previously inexplicable, and that gives us a startling look at what might lie ahead.”

Furthermore, the president sees his own country, our country . . .

Limbaugh Demonizes Obama

Limbaugh Demonizes Obama

Rush Limbaugh has never been known for his subtlety nor for his reticence--and certainly not for his monogamy. As I've often said, he's an insufferable blowhard but he happens to be our insufferable blowhard, that is, a dedicated and highly influential conservative even if he engages in bombast and flame-throwing once in a while.

The bombast is always anticipated but a major flame emanated from Rush's EIB studio, his Limbaugh Institute for Advanced Conservative Studies on Monday which will surely ignite the bubbling venom in the bowels of his countless liberal critics when he said--sort of--that the president of the United States was a devil.

Later,in an article posted on RushLimbaugh.com titled, "Helpless Liberals Watch as Obama Switches from Messiah to Demon." those broadcast comments were published for all to see.

Limbaugh cites pictures on DrudgeReport.com and ominously says, "Folks, these pictures, they look demonic. And I don't say this lightly. There are a couple pictures, and the eyes, I'm not saying anything here, but just look. It is strange that these pictures would be released. . . It's very, very, very strange. An American president has never had facial expressions like this."

When Limbaugh says, "I'm not saying anything here," he's being grossly disingenuous because he's obviously saying a great deal there. To see where there is, to see various recent pictures of Barack Obama as demon and read Limbaugh's analysis of the Democrat Party days before the election that could change America's political landscape, click here: http://bit.ly/db91lV

If beauty is in the eye of the beholder, can evil also be detected by beholders? It is said that pictures never lie, no? . . .

November 2, 2010: Republican Wishful Thinking?

November 2, 2010: Republican Wishful Thinking?

Are all the polls too good to be true? Are all the pundits right? Are all good men, and women, coming to the aid of their country? Will there be a Republican landslide two weeks from now?

If we believe the experts, that sweep is very feasible.

Just consider: Rasmussen: Republicans may gain 55 seats in the House; ABC News: 63 Dem House seats in peril; Barone: Dem careers threatened by Obamacare vote; Weekly Standard: Dennis Kucinich in trouble. According to The Hill.com, even the Grand Poobah, the Democrat head honcho himself, President Obama, thinks “15 Senate seats [are] still up for grabs.” (Source–Drudge Report, 10/18/10)

Furthermore, Gallup headlined on October 18th, “GOP Holds Solid Leads in Voter Preferences,” those leads ranging from a fairly decent 5% up to, depending on turnout, an astounding 17% in generic polls.

It would seem the biggest danger to Republicans at this point would be overconfidence, a cocksuredness in winning the imminent election that makes them lazy, non-voters.

However, that scenario is highly unlikely . . .

Major Malik Nidal Hasan, Soldier, Psychiatariast, Muslim. Mass Murderer

Major Malik Nidal Hasan, Soldier, Psychiatrist, Muslim, Mass Murderer

Calmly, methodically, United States Army psychiatrist Major Nidal Malik Hasan echoed Muhamma Atta’s final words, “Allahu Akbar,” (God, Allah, is great), as he trained his laser-guided, Army-issue weapon on his innocent victims at Fort Hood in Texas on November 5th, 2009 and mercilessly, allegedly, shot them.

Before being brought down, he, allegedly, managed to slaughter 13 of those victims–14 if one considers a pre-born baby a person–and wound, many severely, another 32.

Hasan, crippled by return fire, now confined to a wheelchair and facing a possible death penalty, is presently on trial at Fort Hood for his alleged crimes.

This will not be an effort to recount the sick, gory details of the deadliest attack on a U.S. military base in history nor an account of the Obama administration’s calculated downplaying of that horrific event nor an effort to single out Muslim soldiers, airmen, or naval personnel as people dedicated to killing their fellow servicepeople and to destroying the United States.

Nor will it be an effort to condemn Major Hasan even though the evidence against him is overwhelming.

The unprovoked attack was indeed sick, gory and deadly, the administration has indeed sought to especially minimize Hasan’s Islamic connection, and there undoubtedly are many–far from all–Muslim-Major-Hasan like-thinkers in our military but there are larger issues related to that slaughter, principally the issue of the prevailing political correctness as it concerns the reactions of some Fort Hood personnel following the attack.

Sgt. Alonzo Lunsford was there, in that brief, bloody battlezone. He witnessed the massacre, he heard Hasan scream “Allahu akbar,” locked eyes with him, saw the laser light focused on him, then closed his eyes and waited for the inevitable.

The worst inevitability didn’t come to pass. . .

"May God Have Mercy on My Enemies, Because I Won't!"

"May God Have Mercy on My Enemies, Because I won't!"

“The quality of mercy is not strain’d,/ It droppeth as the gentle rain from heaven.”–Portia, The Merchant of Venice

Don’t tell that to America’s great generals. Four pithy quotations from four great wartime generals:

“War is hell.”–General William Tecumseh Sherman, (after raining hell on Atlanta in 1864)

“May God have mercy upon my enemies, because I won’t.” –General George S. Patton (during World War II)

“In war there is no substitute for victory.”–General Douglas MacArthur, Farewell Address to Congress, 1951

“I believe that forgiving [those who aided and abetted the 9/11 terrorists] is God’s function. Our job is simply to arrange the meeting.” –General Norman Schwartzkopf (during World War III)

Those words of military wisdom have much in common and much can be learned from them during our ongoing war with Islam.

Since the Allies’ victory over Germany and Japan in World War II, America’s political leaders and America’s military leaders, with some few exceptions including, briefly after 9/11, President George W. Bush and Generals MacArthur and Schartzkopf, have ignored that wisdom. They didn’t forget it, they simply chose to ignore it which explains our stalemate in the Korean War and our defeat in the Vienamese War.

They chose to remember that war is hell but ignored the fact that Sherman had no compunction over executing that hell on his enemy. . .

The Slow Death of Multiculturalism

The Slow Death of Multiculturalism

It’s rare, very rare, for a world leader to intentionally expose himself or herself to the slings and arrows of ingrained thought and denounce a feature of that thought as something that has “utterly failed.” It’s the antithesis of political correctness yet German Chancellor Angela Merkel has chosen that rocky and treacherous path in her admission that the international social experiment known as multiculturalism is a total failure.

Multiculturalism was a grand social experiment doomed to failure by a naïveté or by a conscious awareness that it wouldn’t work because it couldn't work.

The social fad of multiculturalism is defined by the Columbia Encyclopedia as “cultural pluralism, a term describing the coexistence of many cultures in a locality, without any one culture dominating the region. By making the broadest range of human differences acceptable to the largest number of people, multiculturalism seeks to overcome racism, sexism, and other forms of discrimination.”

Wikipedia tweaks that definition by adding, “Multiculturalism is the acceptance or promotion of multiple ethnic cultures, . . . multiculturalists advocate extending equitable status to distinct ethnic and religious groups without promoting any specific ethnic, religious, and/or cultural community values as central. The policy of multiculturalism is often contrasted with the concepts assimilationism and social integration. Multiculturalism is seen by its supporters as a fairer system that allows people to truly express who they are within.”

Isn’t multiculturalism really a variation on the Biblical tale of the Tower of Babel? And won’t it inevitably lead to a similar fate?

Both definitions may instill warm, fuzzy feelings but both omit essential factors, notably nationalism, patriotism and realism.

Fully cognizant of those factors but committed to imposing multiculturalism on the hoi polloi anyway,. . .

Tidbits: Toilets, Whitey, and Whoopi

Tidbits: Toilets, Whitey, and Whoopi

Toilets: Decisions, Decisions, Decisions

Under 3-term Mayor Michael Boomboom/Bloomberg, New York City is fast evolving into the Nanny Capital of America. Smoking is banned virtually everywhere, sodium-salt is restricted in restaurants, and sugary foods are next on the hit list as Bloomberg continues his quest to care for every health need of New Yorkers, at the expense of depriving them of the right to decide when and where they will puff and what they can eat.

Big Mike is watching you!

Perhaps bowing to complaints that the city is becoming a mini-nanny state with arbitrary rules imposed by an supposedly omniscient, authoritarian government, New York is now getting into toilets, actually into all things watery.

Already all the rage in Europe, “dual flush” toilets are coming to a New York bathroom near you.

As part of a wide-ranging water conservation law passed by the City Council this past week, “new toilets will have to be high water efficient or ‘dual-flush,’ which allow users to choose between a high pressure flush for solid waste, and a low-pressure flush for liquid:” http://tiny.cc/ao674

See! Bloomberg can now say, we allow individual decision-making, even if that decision is rather simple except in certain cases when toilet users . . . Well, use your own personal experience and imagination.

No word yet on whether thousands of new city workers will have to be hired to monitor strict compliance with the liquid-solid rules.

Whitey or Whitney?

Speaking of toilets, America’s educational system may be immersed in one but . . .

"Gay Day" or Mayday! at Six Flags?

"Gay Day" or Mayday! at Six Flags?

Mayday or May day does not refer to the May 1st International Workers Day celebrated in Communist nations but to an international voice distress signal usually expressed as, “Mayday, Mayday, Mayday!” indicating a dire emergency and a plea for immediate help.

“Gay Day” speaks for itself, or should.

Last month the Six Flags New England “amusement” park in Springfield, Massachusetts featured a “Gay Day,” a Sunday no less, on which homosexuals were invited by management to come to the park en masse and to have a jolly, good time. Six Flags also offered bus rides from Boston or Providence RI, free parking, great discounts and, to show their progressive PC-ness, announced that “A portion of each ticket will benefit local GLBT charities.”

(For those not versed in homosexual terminology, GLBT=Gay, Lesbian, Bi-sexual, Transgendered–and refers to the new dominant, politically potent minority in the United States.)

To publicize the event, Six Flags set up a booth at Boston’s Gay Pride Parade in June and touted it in the Massachusetts’ homosexual newspaper, Bay Windows, with full-page ads citing every gay’s favorites such as “Kitty Litter and Sabrina Blaze” as well as, of course, “Jujubee” as featured entertainers: http://tiny.cc/50mqb

Nothing wrong with that. right? Jolly, good times are good, no? After all, Six Flags brought in those well-known, cross-dressing, homosexual entertainers to help make gays comfortable and happy, and comfy and happy are always good things, no?

Well, no, since the whole Sodomites in Springfield Day Fest wasn’t quite good, true, and beautiful according to traditional, normal standards. . .

What Do You Get When You Fall in Love . . .?

What Do You Get When You Fall in Love . . .?

Burt Bacharach musically asked, “What do you get when you fall in love?” and cynically answered, ”A girl with a pin to burst your bubble That’s what you get for all your trouble.” He added, “What do you get when you fall in love? You only get lies and pain and sorrow for at least until tomorrow. I’ll never fall in love again.”

Poor Burt.

Most people above the age of 12 or 13 have fallen in love. Call it puppy love or some other term that is considered demeaning to the emotion being experienced by the puppy lovers, it’s still love, of a sort.

We’re being told today, after decades of politically correct indoctrination by a mass media, a mass media whose sexual inclinations are suspect and who seem intent on convincing America’s heterosexual dolts that it’s all good, that males copulating with other males and women making whoopie with other women is not only normal but cool.

With the enthusiastitc support of the MSM, we’re being indoctrinated into a gay culture which is preaching that those of us who think that gay culture is sick and perverted and that we who believe the gay cultures is a sham are brain-dead imbeciles.

What follows must therefore be the imbecilic ramblings of, umm, an imbecile.

New York’s Republican candidate for governor, 64 year old successful Buffalo businessman Carl Pasquale Paladino, took a deep dip into imbecilic political hot water last week by saying that he opposes ”pandering to the pornographers and perverts. I just think my children and your children would be much better off and much more successful getting married and raising a family, and I don’t want them brainwashed into thinking that homosexuality is an equally valid and successful option– it isn’t:” http://tiny.cc/e3ylu . . .

Maybe Obama Really Isn't Black Enough?

Maybe Obama Really Isn't Black Enough?

Time Magazine and the LA Times, among others, posed the daunting question in February 2007, long before the junior senator from Illinois tossed his hat into the presidential ring, “Is Obama Black Enough?” The Time article concluded with the puzzling observation that “Barack Obama’s real problem isn’t that he’s too white–it’s that he’s too black.”

Granted, the biracial Obama wasn’t as black as 50 Cent or Chris Rock but so what? Too black, too white, whatever.

The questions Time and others should have been asking were, Why in God’s holy name was this guy, Barack Hussein Obama, even being considered as “presidential material” after barely a year on the national stage? Why was a woefully inexperienced and untested individual being lionized by the MSM and touted as a possible nominee for the Democrat Party’s next entry into the presidential sweepstakes?

And, the most obvious unasked question of all, Was Obama in fact being considered precisely because he was (partially) black and because he represented the best shot people of color had to win the presidency? Did his fans view his election as a way to finally and definitively expiate their nagging white guilt?

If Obama were to be nominated simply because of the color of his skin and not the content of his character, his qualifications and suitability for the presidency of the United States, wouldn’t that be racist in Martin Luther King Jr.’s lexicon?

The very reverend Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson would later question Obama’s black identity and credentials but at least Joe Biden accepted him for what he was, even if he was the “first mainstream African-American who is articulate and bright and clean and a nice-looking guy.”

Wouldn’t it also be racist and blatantly discriminatory to favor any particular group or groups for special treatment because of their color? . . .

(Tim) Bishop Morphs into (Nancy) Pelosi Pawn

(Tim) Bishop Morphs into (Nancy) Pelosi Pawn

Long Island, or Lawn Guyland to some, has been my home for 41 of my 68 years, after successfully escaping the Democrat-infested New York City borough of the Bronx, aka the Bronix. I never thought I would end up in the political equivalent of the Bronx on Long Island.

Until recently, most of Long Island, save enclaves such as the super-ethnic cities of Long Beach and Glen Cove and the super-hellholes of Hempstead, Roosevelt, Central Islip, and Wyandanch, had been securely ensconced in the Republican voting column from its creation and had prospered there.

That ensconcement has been changing over the last decade as more and more denizens of the Third World, particularly the Latina world, have settled here, most sans green cards and many sans any regard for the laws, traditions, and beliefs of the country they have invaded.

The times, they have been changing but like most societal pendula tend to do our social pendulum is slowly swinging back as original Long Islanders attempt to re-claim what is theirs, as rightfully theirs. America rightfully belongs to those who love it above all other nations and we plan on re-claiming it.

Signs of that reclamation were forestalled in 2002 in New York’s, Long Island’s, First Congressional District, a seat long-held by staunch Republicans when a staunch arch-liberal Democrat, Tim Bishop, won that seat.

The pro-abortionist, ostensibly Roman Catholic Bishop, 60, former Provost at Southampton College in which role he presided over the dissolution and bankruptcy of that fine school, was rewarded for his liberality with the Democrat nomination for congress eight years ago. He won that contest by 3,000 votes in 2002 against an inferior Republican candidate and, like most incumbents, has been locked into his East End seat ever since.

From the outset, Bishop joined himself at the hip and groin with the left wing elements of the House of Representatives and since 2006 has become a virtual clone of the Shrieker of the House, Nancy Pelosi. This bishop has evolved into a soul-less pawn of the White House and of the Shrieker with no regard for the wishes and sentiments of the people of his district.

Correction: for the majority of his constituents. . .

Gimme That Ol' Time Religion at the White House

Gimme That Ol' Time Religion at the White House

Ya think President Barack Hussein Obama smells an election coming and knows his Dems just may suffer a historic defeat on November 2? I do.

I concluded an earlier article on Barack Obama’s new-found religiosity–and it’s NOT the Islamic religion, I’ll have you know!–with the following: ”The mainstream, the center, is the source of all good things for politicians and in that center are 225,000,000 American Christians. Obama is tracking in that direction and thinks he can go ‘a hundred miles an hour’ as long as he has his plastic Jesus on board.”

That was a reference to Obama’s semi-retreat on his earlier pronouncement to the Muslim world that America was not a Christian nation, his statement last month that the U.S. is “still predominantly Christian,” his packing up the family to attend services at St. John’s Episcopal on September 14th, and telling a New Mexico audience (71% Christian) how deeply influenced he was ”by the precepts of Jesus Christ.”

See “Barack and His Amazing Technicolor Conversion,” http://tiny.cc/auv0q

Someone should remind the president that Christ didn’t much care for lying hypocrites. . .

Liberals in Action: Beating Conservatives and MSNBC

Liberals in Action: Beating Conservatives and MSNBC

Liberals are always in action in one way or another. Whether they’re fixing elections, slandering conservatives, protesting on behalf of homosexuals, condemning pro-lifers, or marching in state capitals and in Washington, they’re always up to something.

They also subscribe to the non-axiomatic philosophy that if you won’t join them, then just beat them. Literally beat them.

At least that was the experience of the senior editor for Human Events.com, Emily Miller, when she attempted to interview beleagured Harlem congressman, Charlie Rangel, at the October 2nd “One Nation Working Together” rally in D.C.

That misnomered description of the rally, intended to counterbalance Glenn Beck’s September rally at the capital but which was a sparsely-attended failure compared to Beck’s despite unions busing in thousands, was as incongruous as Charlie still being permitted to hold his seat in the House of Representatives but those are whole other stories.

Ms. Miller, former State Department deputy press secretary and former associate producer at ABC News, is a petite woman unaccustomed to literal knock-down-drag-outs that are more appropriate for Harlem bars at closing time than for a political gathering yet she was almost subjected to a knock-down at that ultra-liberal rally.

Fortunately, the assault and battery by the black, liberal “activist” was videotaped.

Let Human Events reporter Jason Mattera describe what happened: “Emily Miller was first hit from behind while she was taping Rangel . . . Miss Miller is heard on the video saying, ‘Please don’t hit me.’ The protester proceeds to yell at [Miller], ‘Well get out of the way! What do you think this is? A–hole.’ Miss Miller continued videotaping the event, when suddenly the same unhinged protester lunged at her, hit her on the arm, and yelled, ‘Don’t take my picture!’

It got better, or worse from Ms. Miller’s point of view.

As Mattera writes, “As the footage shows, . . .

Nixon and Obama: Two Peas in Similar, Sleazey Pods

Nixon and Obama: Two Peas in Similar, Sleazey Pods

The same day the president suffered the indignity of having a book thrown at him and a streaker streak him in Phladelphia and just a few days after the presidential seal fell off the rostrum in D.C., Obama was accused of underhanded Nixonesque tactics. It’s almost as if the sky–and his facade–were falling all around Barack.

President Richard Milhaus Nixon, widely castigated and justifiably shamed out of office but now regarded as one of the better presidents of the twentieth century by objective observers had some things in common with President Barack Hussein Obama.

Oceans if not galaxies separated their political philosophies but, as men and policians, there were more similarities between them than our current leader and his supporters and idolators would dare admit.

Last week Obama visited the great state of Maryland, a state he carried two years ago but which in 2010 is somewhat less than a Democrat sure thing. His audience in Bowie, MD consisted mainly of ”thousands of African Americans who came to see the man they voted for two years ago.” His message ”was simple: Get out and vote for the Democratic ticket in next month’s mid-term elections, even though he’s not on the ballot:” http://tiny.cc/1w6vs

Nixon, a white man, never had an extrordinarily great appeal to African Americans, (he received a piddling 18% of the black vote in his ’72 landslide) but Obama garnered a whopping 93% of that vote in 2008 so, very reasonably, he said to his mostly black audience in Bowie, feigning levity, “Don’t make me look bad, now,” now being the midterm election on November 2nd.

Obama is fully aware that the election in three weeks has the potential of sinking his leaking ship and will determine the fate of his agenda over his last two years in office. He needs his black constituency to support his fellow Democrats as much this year as he did two years ago.

Nixon won election in 1968 primarily on a divisive strategy. He appealed to what came to be called “the silent majority,” that multi-million mass of Americans who were fed up with the war in Viet Nam that we were losing for political, not military, reasons, and fed up with the overall condition of the country under the less than conscientious care of a war-distracted LBJ and a disunited Democrat Party.

Likewise, Mr. Obama, who campaigned to a war-divided nation on the basis of some undefined change ostensibly planned to unite the country, to end our wars which still rage, and to launch us on an as yet undetectable economic recovery, essentially plotted just the opposite. . .

The Naked Hypocrisy of NOW

The Naked Hypocrisy of NOW

The National Organization for Women (NOW) prides itself on its membership of 500,000 and its 550 chapters in 50 states and the District of Columbia. That’s very impressive.

According to its website, the 44 year old organization defines its goal as “to take action to bring about equality for all women. NOW works to eliminate discrimination and harassment in the workplace, schools, the justice system, and all other sectors of society; secure abortion, birth control and reproductive rights for all women; end all forms of violence against women; eradicate racism, sexism and homophobia; and promote equality and justice in our society.”

An impressive and wide-ranging mission, indeed.

Among other recent “hot topics,” NOW posted an endorsement of the recent march on Washington by tens of thousands of bused-in union demonstrators, its opposition to the military’s “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” policy toward homosexuals, and a rousing cheer of congratulation to “Carolyn Maloney, Ann McLane Kuster and All Endorsed Winners from Tuesday [September 14th] Primaries.”

The part of that cheer that explains who and what NOW and its women really are is contained in the three words, “all endorsed winners.”

The National Organization for Women may be in the business of promoting women but they don’t support or endorse just any women. Recipients of their support must fit its left wing template or else they’re shunned.

When NOW vows ”to take action to bring about equality for all women,” it doesn’t really mean all women but rather those women who tow the line, who fit that template, who believe in abortion, who love homosexuals because they’re homosexuals, and, should they be candidates for political office, love Obama, Obamacare, and Obamanomics.

Many other non-conforming women candidates, usually Republicans, were consigned to NOW oblivion. . .

Jesse Dirkhising, 13, Tyler Clementi, 18, Matthew Shepard, 21

Jesse Dirkhising, 13, Tyler Clementi, 18, Matthew Shepard, 21

Every year around this time I like to commemorate the too brief life of Jesse William Dirkhising mainly because, outside of his family and friends, few remember Jesse who died at age 13. Fewer yet recall how he died, and a certain segment chooses not to remember.

Another death recently consumed the mass media as well as the blogosphere so that, by now, given that extensive local and national publicity, most people have heard of Tyler Clementi.

His abbreviated life and untimely death have been the subject of countless vigils and memorials and countless stories on every medium, stories that mourn the waste of a life and which attempt to imagine the unspeakable anguish Tyler must have felt, probably not so much at being discovered in homosexual assignations at New Jersey’s Rutgers University in late September but far more so at having been videotaped and knowing those videos were posted on the internet.

That realization drove Tyler to commit suicide by jumping off the George Washington Bridge.

Perhaps excessively so, after his body washed up days later in northern Manhattan and he was identified, Tyler became something of a mass media cause celebre’, an exemplar of what could happen to gays as a result of anti-homosexual bias and discrimination.

His suicide is now being widely exploited by gay websites as a figurative call to arms in protest of anti-gay bullying and mistreatment of homosexuals but, in all fairness, it should be pointed out that it was not bias and discrimination at the very progressive Rutgers U. that caused Tyler to take his own life. His own personal choices caused that tragedy.

Since he left no suicide note aside from a cryptic “Facebook” post–”Jumping off the the gw bridge sorry”–Tyler Clementi’s motivation will never be known with absolute certainty and it can only be assumed to have been mortification over the publicizing of his homosexual indiscretions that resulted in his suicide.

Tyler Clementi’s death at 18 inversely relates to the death of Jesse Dirkhising who died at age 13 on September 26, 1999. . .

White Boys, Food Stamps, and Eliot Spitzer

White Boys, Food Stamps, and Eliot Spitzer

Some news stories are infuriating, some are validating, some are positively and pathetically amusing. One of each classification follows:

White Boys: They may not be able to jump but at least one black judge in Pennsylvania thinks they get favored treatment.

It should be ironic given President Obama’s post-racial America that Allegheny County Judge Joseph Williams still thinks that way but it’s not ironic at all since Obama’s post-racial America is a sorry joke.

Williams rejected a plea deal of 3 months probation for 24 year old Jeffery McGowan in a case involving a fight with a traffic cop saying that it was “a ridiculous plea that only goes to white boy,” adding that a black defendant in that situation would not have been treated as leniently: http://tiny.cc/o4g9j

The first problem I have with Williams’ statement is that he referred to a 24 year old man as a “white boy.” Unless I’m seriously mistaken, had a white judge called a black defendant, whether he were a 24 or 16 “black boy,” would have been censured, if not fired. Why wasn’t Williams?

The second problem I have with him is that Judge Williams had the audacity to not merely imply but to voice a definitive opinion that his or any court treats blacks and whites differently. If he has any substantive proof of the existence of such blatant racism, he should make that proof known–or keep his mouth shut on the issue.

Such is the state of Obama’s race-neutrality in 2010 America,

Food Stamps: The ancient Romans had a different name for welfare and for buying votes. They called it “panem et circensis,” bread and circuses, bread and games. Among other things, America calls it food stamps. . .

Two Instances of Democrat Perfidy: Lame Ducks and Phony "Witches"

Two Instances of Democrat Perfidy: Lame Congresses and Phony "Witches"

Let’s face it. Democrats have no soul and no conscience. Two instances:

Lame Ducks: In an announcement that will go down alongside the announcement that Barack Obama is the most liberal-leftist-fraudulent president in American history, Nancy Pelosi’s House of Misrepresentatives and Harry Reid’s Pusillanimous Senate will meet in a lame duck session two weeks after the midterm elections to perpetrate more damage to the Republic and to the American people.

Knowing this Democrat Congress’ proven commitment to foisting unwanted, unneeded, and harmful legislation on the country, it’s no surprise that Pelosi and Reid plan to use the seven weeks from November 15th, 2010 until the next Congress is seated on January 3rd, 2011 to push through laws they weren’t able to pass before Election Day.

As preposterous as it may sound four weeks out, Dick Morris is predicting ”the obliteration of a generation of Democrats” come November. As he wrote, ”Thanks to the leadership of President Obama, Speaker Pelosi and Majority Leader Reid, the Democratic Party is facing the biggest defeat in midterm elections in the past 110 years, perhaps surpassing the modern record of a 74-seat gain set in 1922. They will also lose control of the Senate:” http://tiny.cc/o1l6z

From your mouth to God’s ears, Dick.

Whether that literal political revolution comes to pass or not, Pelosi and Reid are taking no chances that they will not be obliterated and are looking to pass S.3815, the Natural Gas and Electric Vehicles Bill, S.3772, the Paycheck Fairness Bill S.510, the Food Safety Bill as well as any other bills they can sneak though Congress as the lamest ducks in history.

Lame “Witches:” Aside from the very valid question as to whether Delaware’s Republican candidate for the United States Senate, Christine O’Donnell, should have even dignified the charge that she is a witch by denying that absurdity . . .

ROCPAC and Abortion

ROCPAC and Abortion

Anyone recall Bart Stupak? He’s one of the many reasons ROCPAC, the Repeal Obamacare PAC, http://repealobamacarepac.com/about-rocpac/, is advocating for dumping Obamacare.

He’s also the congressman who tried to pretend he was a pro-life Democrat in his pro-life Michigan neck-of-the-woods and then tried to defend his cowardly retreat from that position after the U.S. House of Representatives rammed through the Obamacare bill last March on a squeaker vote of 219-212.
Texas Rep. Randy Neugebauer interrupted Stupak’s exercise in sophistry by shouting, “Baby killer!” at his colleague, later changed for CYA purposes to, “It’s a baby killer!” in reference to the abortion provisions hidden in the bowels of HR 3590, the Patient Protection and Affordable Health Care Act, PPAHCA.

Neugebauer was right on both counts.

He “rejected a demand by Rep. James Clyburn (D-S.C.), the House Democratic whip, that he apologize to the full House. ’For what?’ Neugebauer asked. ‘I was out just speaking the truth, and my constituents know that I was out speaking the truth . . . because their outpouring has been overwhelming.’ He added: ‘I won’t apologize for doing the right thing. Not gonna do it. I will apologize when they repeal this bill.’ “ (http://tiny.cc/hopykzgcj1)

Randy Neugebauer did do the right thing by righteously re-affirming his belief that Obamacare is indeed “a baby killer” but needlessly spared Stupak from the same label and couldn’t have been serious in thinking “they,” Pelosi-Reid Democrats, would ever repeal it.

Perhaps no other feature of Obamacare has aroused such passion as its abortion provisions, at the same time it barely registers on the repugnancy scale of many Independent voters who seem little concerned with so-called “social issues” as opposed to economic issues. That’s regrettable since abortion goes to the heart of what’s wrong with Obamacare, and to what’s wrong with President Obama. . .

Where, Oh Where Has Our Education Gone?

Where, Oh Where Has Our Education Gone?

. . . Of course, colleges and universities, trying desparately to seem relevant and far above secondary school fare, have cloaked their curriculum offerings by gussying them up with grand course titles such as ”Dynamic Exploration Of Radio Talk Shows: A Process Approach,” “Aesthetic Early Cubism In Modern Sculptures,” and “Urban Italian Retrospectives In Today’s Society.”

But the proof is in the pudding and course content and they’re not succeeding very well in concealing the truth that course content, as opposed to course titles, is increasingly sophomoric.

In article on “Crazy College Courses,” Carol Berman takes issue with that contention: ”Study for an exam on Syrah? Take a lab in levitation? How about tuning into TV for credit? All this is possible in college today, even in the Ivy League. Courses not only sound more interesting than “Calculus 101,” they actually are! However, courses that sound fun may not always be easy . . . Easy classes do exist, but don’t get fooled by the creative subject titles. You will have to work.”

That’s a matter of opinion. I took Calc 101. Watching television for college credit could in no possible way be as difficult.

Berman also addresses a serious issue related to dumbing down, binge drinking: It’s difficult to teach hung over–and strung out–students. Nevertheless, despite that serious collegiate issue in one course at least one Ivy League school plies students with alcohol. . .

The Homosexual Problem with Just Cookies

The Homosexual Problem with Just Cookies

. . . Contemporaneous with gays moving into the mainstream of general American life and society has been a decided muscle-flexing as they have pushed more and more into schools and colleges to advance their agenda of insisted acceptance. That topic has been treated at great length in this space.

Encouraged by their overall success in promoting their agenda, another “push” has been in the area of promoting themselves in the commercial sector. That may be misleading since the gay strategy is more akin to forcing themselves on various businesses, “forced homosexual affirmations,” and destroying some of those enterprises in the process.

A recent instance of forcible affirmation involved a small, family-owned business in Indianapolis. “Just Cookies” had sold, what else, just cookies, (and some cupcakes), for 20 years in its store located in the city-owned City Market Building.

Americans for Truth detailed what happened when a gay group insisted on making a purchase that did not involve just cookies: ”Just Cookies was approached by some local homosexual demands group activists and asked to make a special order of cupcakes designed with homosexual rainbows for the ‘National Coming Out Day.’ This is an event sponsored by the Human Rights Campaign in Washington, DC. It exists solely to encourage homosexual behavior among students and kids.

“The owners of Just Cookies [the Stockton family] declined this special order, which required their design talents being used to embrace this controversial and morally questionable event. The activists could have purchased cookies and other items off the shelf, [or could have shopped elsewhere] but wanted something specific for their event at a local university. The homosexual demands groups saw a ‘no thank you’ as ‘discrimination’ simply because the owners didn’t want any part of promoting homosexuality among kids.

“The issue really exploded this week when this news broke and the Mayor’s office took the side of the homosexual demands . . .

Travel Alert! State Department Warns, "Don't Go There! Don't Do That!"

Travel Alert! State Department Warns, "Don't Go There! Don't Do That!"

As an adjunct to America’s insane policy of dealing with Islamic terrorist attacks by waiting to be attacked, (since, as our president and Muslim commentator Fareed Zakaria have pointed out, we’re well able to “absorb” even nuclear assaults on the homeland), we’re now warning travellers and tourists to be careful out there when they’re travelling to and touring in Europe.

Obama made that “absorb” comment according to Bob Woodward’s new book, Obama’s Wars and now travellers and tourists have been warned by our State Department of ”the potential for terrorist attacks in Europe. Current information suggests that al-Qa’ida and affiliated organizations continue to plan terrorist attacks.”

That alert goes on to warn: “Terrorists may elect to use a variety of means and weapons and target both official and private interests. U.S. citizens are reminded of the potential for terrorists to attack public transportation systems and other tourist infrastructure. Terrorists have targeted and attacked subway and rail systems, as well as aviation and maritime services. U.S. citizens should take every precaution to be aware of their surroundings and to adopt appropriate safety measures to protect themselves when traveling.”

Just as with domestic terror warnings, our government fails to provide any specific methods or techniques to implement that precaution or information on how to deal with or to avoid being reduced to splinters.

Excuse me, that’s not exactly true. . .

"She-Devil" Amanda Knox Gets Sued

"She-Devil" Amanda Knox Gets Sued

As if she didn’t have enough on her plate and in her aborted life, Amanda Knox is now being sued and may have to stand trial for alleging Italian police “roughed her up” during their investigation into the grisly 2007 rape and murder of Knox’ British roommate, Meredith Karcher, in Perugia, Italy.

Self-described “Foxy Knoxy,” a “She-Devil” to the Italian press, Amanda Knox was found guilty of complicity in that murder and sentenced to 26 years in prison. She has 25 more to go and when she’s released will be a middle-aged woman, her youthful beauty gone, her youth gone, her future dismal.

With this new development of being sued by her captors, Knox is said to be depressed and “less serene:” http://tiny.cc/kbuyw. She’s fortunate not to be stark raving mad at this point.

I’m not totally convinced Ms. Knox directed or participated in Meredith’s murder, partially because I can’t fathom any young girl with no violence in her background and hailing from a decent family perpetrating that horrendous act.

I also don’t buy it partially because her prosecution and her chief prosecutor were gravely flawed and her riveting and sensationalized trial devolved into a veritable circus in a poisoned atmosphere with the public in both Italy and England clamoring for a young American’s head on a platter. . .

Rick Sanchez and CNN's Kingdom of Nay

Rick Sanchez and CNN's Kingdom of Nay

The little I saw of him, Rick Sanchez, formerly host of “Rick’s List” in CNN’s 3-5 p.m. time slot, seemed like a sincere, straightforward, personable enough sort. He was more than a tad too straightforward in a radio interview, hence the reason he’s a former host.

I don’t think I’m in danger of stereotyping when I say Sanchez, a Cuban-born American with no obvious accent, shared a common trait among latinos, that of being passionate, passionate enough to lose his cool–and his job of 6 years with CNN. He got pissed during a Serius/XM radio interview with Pete Dominick and let loose with some opinions which were considered dismissal-worthy by his CNN bosses.

Sanchez’ comments about discrimination in general, about bias against women and Hispanics in particular, and concerning Comedy Central’s “Daily Show” host Jon Stewart whom he called a bigot, probably wouldn’t have gotten him canned since there’s a provable element of truth in such accusations.

What got him bunches of free time to plug his new book, Conventional Idiocy, Why the New America Is Sick of Old Politics, was not just touching but grabbing onto the third rail with his intimations that Jews controlled the media and with such statements as, “I can’t see somebody not getting a job somewhere because they’re Jewish.”

To that last, Dominick quipped, “Well, then you’ve never been to Nebraska,” but the damage was already done.

I’ve never been to Nebraska, either, nor do I plan on traveling there in the near future or during this lifetime, so I can’t reflect on job opportunities for Jews in the Cornhusker State but I think Sanchez was speaking in generalities with that pretty accurate comment.

Less general were his views on alleged Jewish control of the media. . . .

A Timely Reminder from Barack: Don't Forget that White Guilt!

A Timely Reminder from Barack: Don't Forget that White Guilt!

No one will ever be able to conclusively prove the extent to which white guilt played a role in Barack Hussein Obama’s election to the presidency in 2008. What is definitely known is that 43 of every 100 whites cast their ballots for Obama in that election and that he garnered 96% of the black vote.

White guilt could be defined as that bizarre, much-denied, conscious or subconscious, feeling experienced by an untold number of white Americans that it was time to give the black man a shot at the Oval Office.

After all, white guilters somehow believed, African-Americans had been enslaved for centuries in America and the least whites could do to make amends for that societal evil would be to vote for a black man to clearly demonstrate, first, that they were free of prejudice and, second, to recompense today’s blacks for the sins of our forefathers.

It’s bizarre thinking for any white American today unless he or she were at least 147 years old and former slaveholders and the recipients of that compensation were at least the same age and former slaves since Lincoln, technically, freed the slaves in 1863 with the Emancipation Proclamation.

Our president seems well aware of the white guilt phenomenon, so much so that he’s cashing in his racial chits a month ahead of the mid-term elections on November 2nd. . .

Obama and the LCD

Obama and the LCD

I’ve omitted the ellipses in the above passage of contemporary “poetry”/rap crap from Bobby Ray Simmons’ popular rap crap group B.O.B. but all the spelling, punctuation, grammar and syntax are untouched. I think the flavor comes through loud and clear, maybe too loudly and too clearly.

B.O.B. headlined your president’s sell-out fundraiser at the Daughters of the American Revolution (D.A.R.) Constitution Hall in D.C., of all places.

The D.A.R. will have to fumigate the joint now.

Your desparate commander-in-chief, in his always classy fashion, has resorted to the LCD to stoke up his base, not a liquid crystal display but the least common denominator, rap crappers B.O.B., replete with their suggestions of the black hoodlum ghetto, degradation of girls and women, drugs, criminality and, of course, filled with obscenities and use of the N-word, deemed unsuitable for the English language and for which B.O.B. substitutes the innocuous, ”nigga.”

Very uplifting, Barack!

Actually, it was a Democratic National Committee fundraiser-concert-rally and, actually, it was very difficult to determine how many of the 3,000 young attendees attended to cheer on the president and how many were induced to show up by the prospects of seeing and hearing the equally-classy B.O.B. . .
